We ordered duck in plum sauce to be delivered. We got duck in pineapple sauce & when I spoke to them about it they said that is how they do plum sauce. I will never order anything from them again and am considering reporting them to the council for breach of the trades descriptions act. If this is so different to it's description I cannot trust any description on their menu.

Absolutely terrible. Took 2 hours to be delivered from ordering. When the food finally arrived the chicken and beef dishes were barley cooked, so much so we didn’t even eat it. Won’t be ordering again, was very disappointed.

I’ve read the reviews but can only comment on my own experience. I’ve just had probably the best Duck with spring onion and ginger that I’ve ever had from a takeaway. My wife had the chicken which they did without ginger (she doesn’t like ginger!) but substituted water chestnuts - excellent. Fluffy egg fried rice. Thank you for a lovely, hot, spicy meal with plenty of onions and vegetables.

Ok so let’s have some balance. It’s not amazing Chinese food….but it’s a pretty decent takeaway. It’s as good as anywhere else in Rough and I’ve done them all so no way I would go out of my way to go elsewhere. Get what you would expect -not amazing but it’s ok…erm except the chips….think I’m going to have to agree with the negative nellies as they are…..crap but if I want chips I go to the chippy🤔

We ordered a takeaway for 10 over the Easter weekend..we had several different dishes and almost everyone was very happy with their food. The Cantonese chicken was delicious as was the vegetable chow mein, the egg fried rice, sweet and sour crispy chicken, the spring rolls and the barbecue ribs. The only disappointments were the crispy shredded chilli beef which had a good flavour but was quite tough and the satay sauce which seemed unusually runny. We would have given 5 stars had the chilli beef and the satay sauce been as good as the rest.

just had a chines i had happy family you could not eat it it was full of pepperijust gave them a call and told them that i could not eat it becuse it was so peppery and the chips was old and warmed up it was rubbish they said thats how we cook are food so i said is there any thing you can do he said no so people do not waste your money at this crap chineese becuse they are not botherd as long as they have got your money dont use this place its crap and i mean crap downt get caught out like i did

We were deciding on a local take away,and saw the reviews for this place, thinking it wouldn't be so good, but gave it the benefit of the doubt. We are a family of 4 and ordered: King Prawn Chop Suey, Lemon Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken ball, rice, dumpling and a very spicy hot and sour soup. The food arrived promptly. It was hot and fresh. It wasn't half as oily as some other places. The food itself was very tasty, and they were good portion sizes. Price was reasonable for a takeaway. All in all very pleased and will probably try again.

We asked for ASAP but were advised of a wait. It arrived within the time. Food was hot and good. Delivery driver said he hadn’t delivered to the marina before. It’s worth telling delivery drivers about the marina. They find it confusing. 👍🏻

No prawn in sesame prawn toast.. just soft bread. No flavour in food and gave both me and partner a funny stomache!

Was told at 20 minutes late that food was "on it's way" but still had to wait an additional 10 minutes with no apologies or compensation.

This restaurant always excels, far far better than their facade implies, trust me, you need to order from these guys ! For instance, the spring rolls are the freshest and best i have ever tasted, i am sure they are hand made on the premises. I order from this restaurant regurlarly and their quality never lowers, delivery staff always friendly. Seriously the best Chinese food in Leicestershire !

The chips are disgusting. The beef is disgusting. Didn’t even bother trying the rest. It’s just dreadful food.

Everytime we order from here it is delicious! The food is always either on time or early and piping hot and the delivery man is always super friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Just eat showed delivered at 1940hrs . Rang restaurant at 2001 asking where order was/is .. driver just left with order ! Food obviously last in delivery route .. poor

Food was early, but food was not great. Sweet and sour sauce very poor, duck very dry and cold, with most of the food being fairly tasteless. Satay sauce was not bad though. Wouldn't recommend.

our food was delivered nearly an hour past the predicted time which was already an hour and a half after delivery, meaning we waited 2.5 hours for our food. the delivery driver got lost and we had to walk to meet him, when we complained about the wait he just shrugged it off. the food was alright when it arrived but not surprisingly, cold. we asked for a refund due to such a long wait and the restaurant refused. really disappointed with the service and the way they handled our complaint.

I ordered my food at 18.56.... I was told it would arrive at 8.20 which was almost an hour & half from placing the order but it finally arrived 3/4hr after, & after a phone call to restaurant.... same thing happened with my last order thru just eat?

Unfortunately this was the poorest quality Chinese Takeaway, I have ever had. Chicken Curry & Chow Mein had no taste to it. £16.30 straight in the bin.

Worst place I’ve ever ordered from! The driver phoned me up and asked me to walk to the traffic lights at the bottom of the road to get my food, Got 3 out of 6 item wrong, labelled two orders as spicy when ordering neither had any chilli in what so ever, phoned them up they left the phone on the side while screaming at each other then hung the phone up they now won’t answer the phone! Will never be ordering here again and I’m about to drive up there to drop the food off and demand a full refund! Disgusting!

Both bags of chips were seriously undercooked so I had to call to complain. In the 2 minutes I was on the phone, my edible food had gone cold and I was not able to eat much. My girlfriend had nothing to eat until the chips arrived as the prawn crackers were brown. When the delivery came I gave the guy the old open chips in a bag as requested and began to make a complain, I managed to start before the man walked away just saying “okay okay”. It’s unlikely I’ll be eating here again.

I am NEVER ordering from here again, don’t get me wrong the food was hot so that’s a plus and it was early but the quality of the food was absolutely disgusting I had to throw my dinner in the bin yuck!!

Would totally recommend! We had a 25% just eat offer, scrolled through all the local menus and am glad we chose Dragon Cottage! It came half an hour early which was great! There was 5 of us and we had a variety of food, we all enjoyed what we had! Will definitely order again!

Food cold and inedible, total waste of money , will never use again

Possibly the worst Chinese curry I’ve ever had - the chicken was slimy, the sauce was bland and the only vegetables were enormous mushrooms (gross enough). It looked unappetising; instead of a creamy yellow it was grey and watery - like gruel, but unlike Oliver Twist I certainly wouldn’t have asked for more. The chips definitely were the worst I’ve had from a Chinese, rather than thick cut and beautifully friend I was expecting, they were the kind you would find at 4am in the dirtiest kebab shop. The rice was really good, definitely the best part of the meal. Another redeeming quality was the speed of the delivery - it was early but not too early. You know the suspicious kind of early where it’s impossible that they cooked all the food properly and delivered it? Yeah it wasn’t that, it was good early.

The delivery driver was extremely rude! We live in an apartment block - usually delivery drivers get out of their car, walk up the path, press the buzzer and come up to our door. Not this one! He rang me on my mobile and refused to get out of his car, he waited down the road near the car park to our Apartments and told me to come down and get our takeaway. He then argued with my partner when we complained. Appalling service.

I ordered a takeaway and received contaminated food in the form of a long black human hair inside my beef dish. This has now been reported to the environmental health department at Charnwood Borough Council and Just Eat. The food was also overcooked/nuked Very disappointed and angry customer just waiting now for my refund Avoid this takeaway at all cost unless you want food poisoning and lost of money.

Just ordered from dragon cottage, usually is a nice meal, but today the satay sauce was so salty we couldn’t eat it! The chicken in the chow mein was bone dry, there was barely any meat in the beef in black bean sauce, the won tons had no meat! so generally very disappointing we called up to complain and was told next time we would have 1 free dish, which considering we were complaining about 4 dishes, we didn’t feel this was fair. After saying we would need to share the experience online they just said “ok, sorry”. No customer service, and I guess they don’t really care if your foods of a good quality either. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

I called up the restaurant to ask ONE question and the response I got from the lady, in the rudest tone ever was “What’s your problem”. Lol, imagine... won’t be ordering from there again despite how good the food is.

Food not as good as previous times. Shredded chilli beef tasted burnt. The wontons were squashed flat, over cooked and had very little filling in them. Not at all impressed.. Will question whether we will have another takeaway from here.

ordered food @ 7.30pm, delivery time was 20.20,then changed to 20.50. no sign of food at 9pm. I rang and got told 9%20, let’s just say got food 2 hours after ordering
