Great food, nice Service, and great Ambiente

Stopped in for a beer, margarita, and bruschetta! Fantastic. Server was excellent. Helpful. Friendly. Great music piped in. Not too loud. Fantastic pub!

The food was excellent. It was something we didn't try before and we were really impressed. The price reflected the volume and quality. Highly recommend.

Have just had a Sunday roast at this place. What can I say. Superbly presented. Tasted lovely. Staff excellent. Cant recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Hastings.

Food is really great. The staff are now really nice and friendly. Great atmosphere. The owner pretends he's never seen you before even though you've been going for years ! 😆. It's our running joke to see if he says hello when he walks past. You know the acknowledgement of hello, how are you . That nod of the head as you walk past.

While visiting Hastings Old Town we saw The Dragon Bar's board advertising smoked haddock chowder. We couldn't resist and we're so glad we didn't. The chowder was fantastic, served in a bread bowl, full of smoked haddock and mussels. Absolutely delicious. We will definitely go back again if we're ever in the area.

I came here for a place to sit, a coffee, and to read and relax after a stressful week. A black americano was £4, which I know is expensive, but I was happy to pay it as the other places I wanted to go were closed, and I thought that the atmosphere would be as nice as it was last time I went. Furthermore, the cafe is a local independent business, and I don't often buy coffee so I can spare the expense. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was ruined by the fact that the bar staff started talking about me and how much I'd paid for a coffee immediately after I sat down, asking how I could pay so much and discussing how overpriced it was at unusual length. I was sat down right next to the bar, so I have no idea how they thought I wouldn't hear them. I couldn't relax or enjoy my time there at all as I felt judged and ripped off, and couldn't shake off my frustration that what I paid for to be a relaxing treat ended up simply in me being talked about behind my back, quite literally, the bar staff essentially mocking me. I will not go again, which is very sad, as last time I was convinced that this would become my go-to place to relax. I would not advise coming here alone, or as someone anxious, as the staff (a man and woman) seem to by wholly inconsiderate of other people and their situations.

I came to the restaurant on Monday night with 3 other people and we had such a lovely time the lady on the bar had a lovely bright smile as soon as we came up too the bar a nice greeting goes a long way. I myself had the steak and chips it was cooked so well honestly couldn’t have been more perfect glazing combination was beautiful.menu changes daily and cocktails were a-bit on the strong side but I’m not complaining. Overall the staff and the food were fantastic.

Went for a late lunch today with wife, 2 kids and dog. Staff were welcoming and atmosphere was great with excellent music. Food was absolutely amazing.home made sausage roll, steak were first rate! I don’t leave reviews but we had such a lovely experience I had to comment. 5 stars all the way. Well done 👍🏼

Service is less, because you order at the bar, the choice is small, but the food was great. I had a small dish with asparagus, and my partner a big dish with Portugese paella. £33 without drinks. A bit loud inside but very pleasant.

Waited nearly 40 minutes for a burger and a very grissly steak sandwich on a very quiet Monday. Will not be eating here again.

While on a trip to Hastings, we were hungry so we went looking for a place where we could eat well and where dogs were welcome. Walking through the old town along George Street, we visited many bars and restaurants until we finally reached the inconspicuous Dragon Bar. Maybe at first impression it is not very exposed, but we boldly entered inside. And we already knew it was a good choice! Although there is no sign that dogs are welcome, we found a place right next to the entrance with a view of the entire bar from where we could observe the guests. After a while, I was already at the bar, the polite bartender offered drinks, I must say that everyone will find something for themselves, from a soft drink, Guinness beer, Staropramen, wines and cocktails prepared on site. The menu is not very rich, but as it turned out later, the secret of Dragon Bar is not the number of dishes. We ordered grilled bass, mushrooms on the toast, smoked salmon fishcakes and tomato and thyme soup. We waited quite a long time, but considering that we weren't the only ones waiting, we hoped it would be worth it. And it was worth it! The dishes presented in a beautiful form (it would be a pity to destroy this work) tasted amazing, truly heaven in your mouth! Mushrooms on toast were full of mushroom flavor, thyme emphasized the taste, garlic toast complemented the taste and the whole thing was delicious, a poetry of taste. Grilled bass fish served with rice and bit of trace created a tasty composition, fresh fish and ingredients ensured the unique taste of the dish. grilled salmon fishcake is real poetry not only in appearance but also in taste. I have never eaten fishcake served this way. And the tomato soup mentioned was delicious, slightly spicy and tasty, and the grilled bread with topping took the taste sensations to a different level. Finally, we had two desserts served, cinnamon apple tarte with soft cream and the second dessert was rhubarb mousse with apple, crushed meringue and biscuit. everything tasted out of this world. It was worth waiting longer than usual for such a tasty treat. There was a nice, relaxed atmosphere in the bar, the staff were friendly and served the dishes with a smile. If you are a fan of good food and a friendly, unobtrusive atmosphere, you must visit Dragon Bar! Thank you very much for your visual and taste experiences. We highly recommend Dragon Bar! Visited in July 2023. We came to Hastings for a long weekend. We previously have been to Dragon Bar before and we knew it was a good spot for drinks and fun vibes. This didn’t disappoint. Located on the busy George Street, this bar is popular with locals and tourist. This is chilled out spot has all the usual drinks on offer. There was a DJ on the decks spinning the classics.

Atmosphere good and great tapas

I had a great lunch at the dragon bar in Hastings with a friend recently. The head chef produced some beautiful food. Great tapas menu that I struggled to choose from because it was all amazing. However, mussels, pigs in blankets/sherry aioli and venison carpaccio with parmigarnio. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. Great selection of beers and wine and overall this doggy friendly place is a gem in the middle of Hastings. Enjoy

Had a Sunday Roast was really delicious with amazing dessert.

We had the Pork roast dinner and it was 10/10. Definitely coming back!

Lovely food- small plates we had included local cured mackerel with celeriac, fish gougons in perfect batter heritage tomato salad with whipped feta classic patatas bravas- way above average. I recommend it.

Great little bar at the end of George St before you head into Old Town. The service was prompt and welcoming. The atmosphere is inviting and chilled and the beer is great!!! Best place to get a chieftain and in a tankard still!!!

Had a lovely lunch here: good beer, good service and an excellent meal of pan-fried hake. Very good chef. It's sort of shabby inside (deliberately shabby-chic I think) and casual so my expectations were modest; but they were well exceeded. Music was good too.

My go to bar in Hastings - Dragon Bar is a rustic bar, situated in the old town of Hastings, offering a great selection of drinks and a variety of food options on the menus from small plates and large plates. Dragon Bar hip, and edgy restaurant bar, with fresh and vibrant food options. With a tiny kitchen pumping out great options on the menu it is one of the better places to have a eat out in Hastings. Or a place to relax for drinks. It is on the rather more expensive a sides for a Resturant / bar in Hastings, however we’ll worth the price point. The bar is very scenic and has a good atmosphere. It is on the more causal side , being dog friendly, and more chill service to bare that in mind if you are expected top quality service. It has friendly staff but it is a more of a sit back and relax DIY order at bar kinda vibe.

Lovely well presented food at great price

This is our third time in Hastings and we like the little old town. This surprises with nice little, atmospheric shops, second hand shops, pubs and restaurants.

We're a couple from Brighton, unexpectedly found this lovely place while looking for somewhere to eat on a Tuesday evening. Beautifully lit, nice atmosphere, lovely staff. Food was excellent; especially the prawn bisque, fig salad and posh chocolate donuts. Would recommend to anyone locally or passing through Hastings for a quality but unpretentious experience.

Great staff and atmosphere - nice grub too. And a brilliant DJ - Mark Martini. Not sure if he is there every weekend but anyhoo - a groovey bar / restaurant / party place

The most underrated brunch in the area - exquisite. Perfect place to sit and people watch all year round and enjoy food, drink and friendly service. What going to a good eatery is all about.

After visiting lots of restaurants and bars around South West in week prior to my visit to the dragon bar, decided to go there for some lunch before returning to work the next day. The menu was just how I like it, not too big but a good range of different things that aren't on menus around the area. I had king prawn tempura as a starter and was perfect, 8 huge, meaty, and juicy well cooked prawns. My main was delicious, steamed halibut, mussels in masala sauce with soft boiled potatoes, cauliflower puree. Was a 10 out of 10 meal, and staff were pleasant and helpful. Given the size of the place it was full of customers . Great for and great value. Photos are from Sunday lunch which was gorgeous, desert was out of this world and so simple.

Burgers here are so good I've not managed to try anything else yet on the menu, maybe next time! Choice of good quality/value wines also excellent.

Outstanding hearty food. Expertly prepared and plated/served casually. Very busy typically and may need a reservation to get a table. Small bar works too, but first come first serve. I had the pork roast special and saw many incredible dishes pass my table: fresh l halibut, duck breast; mushroom ragu. Highly recommended! (Update: I just read a couple of one star reviews on Dragon Bar. Pitiful...please ignore them!)

Guaranteed quality dining experience in the old town of Hastings. Even though we only ordered a burger, it was put together so well and it was just so tasty, the chef is obviously good at what he does. I'm glad we chose to eat at Dragon that day.

Unfortunately the young baran could not have been less interested in actually saying what was available on the menu. He described the white wine z white liquid..all the same to me he says. Food a let down, we had a mix of tapas. Not very tasty, bland...sadly

Stopped by on a sunny afternoon for a drink. Decided to go for pizza and a pint. £10!!! Cant complain at that. Bargain and good service especially as it was so busy. Jug of Mojito a bargain too!!

What a find! Great food. The burger with all the trimmings?! What else could I ask for? Coleslaw- amazing, fries- amazing, salad- amazing, king prawns- amazing, all the sauces- amazing. THE BURGER- ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Will be back for sure.

I’m only giving one star as I can’t give less! Went there tonight! Was encouraged in for a pizza snd a pint for £10. Over an hour later still no pizza. When I questioned the barman his attitude was “talk about something with your friends other than the pizza then when it turns up your be happy. Not even an apology about taking so long. Service was awful never will I eat in there again

We visited this place on Saturday 7th May 7:30pm, we got two warm Moretti . When We said is not cold they were not bothered, the response was all are the same. The bar staff useless, not professional / helpful. The tables were not clean , genuinely awful place!

I very much like coming here for a nice glass of grüner veltliner. The atmosphere is lovely ( we went in the afternoon) and the staff are friendly but they just need to tweak the food quality slightly (pre made pizza bases)

Couldn't get in where we originally wanted so decided to try here and had a very nice Pizza. The staff were reasonably friendly despite it being quite busy.

A place for the younger urban crowd with deep pockets, Dragon Inn is a typical modern style pub in Hastings Old Town. Real ale drinkers will find little to enjoy here, but the area is nice, the seating (inside and outside) is pleasant and relaxing enough, and there's a fair selection for lager drinkers (at premium prices). This is a street full of pubs and eateries, so you've got plenty of choices.

Came across this wonderful tapas bar during a walk in Hastings old shopping quarter! It’s fantastic, exquisite food, soulful music and excellent service. Dog friendly and even let humans in! Can’t recommend it enough, great night of eating, drinking and talking….loved it!

Cool little bar in the old town. Menu has some great tapas options. Pizza also available. Music was good and feels like it would be a lively place to hang out in the evening.

Ordered one of everything on the tapas list for three hungry guys and was not disappointed, what we received could have easily fed 4-5 people. Left very happy and very well fed.

Tapas was under whelming and lacked flavour. The waitress was more concerned in taking a selfie and chatting with friends rather than receiving a payment for the bill. This place is more of a hangout for staff, where the customer comes 2nd or 3rd down the list, not good enough!!

Good location, incredibly average food (some of which very bland - especially the homemade houmous), friendly staff who admittedly were far more interested in flirting with one another and their mates than serving. And the kitchen was closing at 8.13pm which seems a touch bizarre. Won't be listening to our friends reccomendations again....

Awful place, the female manager was rude and looked like she didnt want to be there. Shocking service all around....bar smelled like a sewer.
