We stopped here for coffee and a bite as part of our bike ride. It took over an hour to have a coffee and bacon butty. Great location but the service is dreadfully slow.

I’ve visited this place all seasons and the thing that’s most consistent is how painfully slow and disorganised the service is. And it’s not because of lack of staff. The problem is they can’t or don’t optimise what those staff are doing. They all could do with going to do a shift or two or observe what other outlets do. It’s not rocket science. It does mean thinking about the customer experience and how they make that as seamless as possible. I offer cone here and skip buying a coffee because if that frustration. I wonder how much business passes them by?

Arrived just after 3.0pm on a Sunday afternoon. The cafe was empty, we were the only customers. Ordered two hot drinks and the young man picked up paper cups. We explained that we wanted to sit in the cafe (not takeaway) so would like normal cups and tea pot but was told that we could not have anything that required washing up as there were only three members of staff on duty. Also had a slice of cake which came on a paper plate with wooden fork. Will not be visiting again!!

Nice little cafe serving drinks and snacks by the entrance to the park. We sat outside on the veranda and ordered hot pasties and coffee following a walk around the park. The pasties were very tasty, however, I would have appreciated them and the coffee being served in mugs and on plates rather than in cardboard cups and a paper bag! The lady on the next table had her food served on a plate and tea in a pot!

Underwhelming would be to put it mildly! The staff were unfriendly, the service awful and the food mediocre. Used to go there a lot for the great views. What a shame ! Won’t be going there again!!!

We found the wait was too long and not a huge range of choice. We found the coffee expensive and the staff rushed off their feet.

Just ordered a coffee and ‘barked at’ by a team member for ordering from the wrong place. If it matters that much perhaps put up signage that advises customers where to queue or order. I have told them the same. Let’s see if they either relax about where to I order from or install some signage or do nothing. My bet is that they do nothing and keep barking at people 🤔

After a walk around the park, we ventured into the cafe which was surprisingly quiet. Only two people in front of us but it took absolutely ages for us to be served. 3 staff working but the layout and process they were going through for what is essentially making coffee and putting the odd piece of food together really caused issues, Not helped with folks were coming in a back door and it was really difficult to work out how the staff were prioritising their service. When it did come to our turn, I wanted a pastie but would like some beans with it. Well, expecting a negative response to my question, it turned out not to be a problem and I got exactly what I wanted. Lovely pastie, decent quality beans and pretty fast service once we were into the production line. Prices excellent and more than value for money. Would certainly go back but must be a nightmare when they are busy.

The 3 ladies serving deserve a bonus for the work they put in this really busy Sunday 30 Jan. Always polite, incredibly fast and efficient, even with 9 customer groups in the queue front of us, we only had to wait 10mins to give our order and less than 5 minutes to get our tea cakes. Tables cleared and wiped down quickly. Well done and thank you. Hope the manager aware. (Coffee and tea hot and good as usual.)

When you finish a nice walk around the country park the dragonfly cafe is a great place to go, a warm hot chocolate and a nice ice-cream when you get in, however only one thing is that the service can be slow from time to time, other then then I totally recommend it!

Team: small friendly team, helpful and nice to talk to. Cafe: spacious, several tables, dog friendly, high chairs, wheelchair friendly. Great view on the veranda of the beautiful lake. Drinks: Great quality coffee (Lavazza), dairy free range of milks, yummy syrup flavours, delish hot choc - can't go wrong! Several nice cold drinks too. Food: vegan options are good - delicious cherry bakewell, sausage roll, toastie etc. Normal range is extensive - sandwiches, wraps, toasties, breakfast baps, soups etc. All yummy and quick to takeaway. Plenty of bicycle parking - Cyclist and walker friendly Great to do some work on the laptop, meet friends, bring family, and enjoy a restful pitstop whilst exploring the wonderful country park.

Visited park over Half Term School Holidays-good weather and plenty of visitors to park. Arrived for food at 2.45pm - rude member of staff told us they had stopped serving hot food already as they had cleaned kitchen. No effort to be polite to myself or my friends and family. Such a shame as we had a good time exploring park and spoke to volunteers and we were looking forward to refreshments.

We only stopped in for coffee on a chilly day and although highly tempted by the cakes on offer, I can only comment on the atmosphere which is most inviting. It felt to me like an American diner annd I saw some hearty breakfasts being served.

Sadly we didn't get a chance to sample it - the service is appalling we waited for 15 minutes for a cup of tea and a piece of cake and in the end gave up and asked for a refund - even this took some time as the owner/manager was on the phone which was far more important to her than looking after customers

I’ve been coming to Poddington Garden Centre for over 25 years and remember it fondly as a family-run business with knowledgable staff and a massive range of high quality plants. It’s a bit of a drive to get there for me, but it used to be worth it, as Poddington stood out then, as the premier local garden centre. Sadly it has declined massively no longer deserves that title. The range and quality of the plants and other gardening items have reduced significantly. The inside section seems to have mostly been switched to selling budget items and loads of groceries. It was like a mini B & M homestore. The indoor plants section is a shadow of its former self, in terms of range of plants and quality. I guess it’s handy for the locals and does sell a lot of stuff, but I won’t be coming again.

Turning into a friendly regular weekend stop and they remember my base order.

A lovely and very well decorated restaurant with very poor customer service. All the standard duties of a restaurant just missed. Drinks were not offered through out our meal, no one around to ask for more drinks or to take our dishes when finished. Food was very average for the price. When we finally got someone’s attention and asked for dessert we thought we had been forgotten as the waiting time was far too long, they informed us that our ticket did not go through to the kitchen and gave us extra scoops of ice cream. Very unfortunate that a lack of customer service has let down a very beautiful setting.

We regularly use this pub/restaurant for our meet up with friends or just to get out of cooking a meal of an evening. I met up with a friends last night and we had a lovely meal. The staff were friendly and service was very good. As we have the Sizzling app we had 40% off our main course which is great - times are a bit hard at the moment so its great that they have these offers on. Will of course visit again but be sure to book a table in advance if you plan on eating here as it can get busy !
