Downtown Burger in Peterborough

Ordered 6pm sunday night, two and a half hours later and no food. Restaurant phone number is offline, no email, and card payment link that is allegedly for chasing up orders is actually a company in stoke on trent that provides the payment platform, no help at all. Makes you wonder why this restaurant has three websites under two different names all with the same info eh? Edit for reply: My inconvienience? You mean no food and having to change my bank card? Sure, apology accepted. Yet you lane half baked excuse goes no way towards excusing your business practices does it? The reviews do not lie and your company has been doing these underhand tactics for some time now it would seem. No problem though, all in Trading Standards hands now.

I've ordered from here twice now and each time has been great, the food is delicious and the time it takes to cook is fast, staff are friendly and polite. Had a chat with who I think was the owner or the head chef, he asked me questions on what I ordered and what I liked, really shows he cares about the place which is a good sign.

Never received the food. Tried ringing but all.i got is they can no longer received phone calls

I don't normally write reviews but people need to be aware. Don't trust this takeaway they take you're money but don't deliver your food and still take you're money and don't give you a refund. The delivery service say the restaurant doesn't have the money in their account to refund so basically they are bankrupt. I have done my research and supposedly they are a dissolved company but they still claim to be open and taking orders. People need to be aware of this.

If I could give this 0 stars I would, used to enjoy the food from here but tonight it was absolutely disgusting, looks and tastes like shi*. Pizza was doughy and well undercooked, double peperoni had tomatoes on and so did the hawaian and the description said nothing g about this. The burger looked as if it had been thrown on the floor and stood on. The chicken wings were stone cold and the chips were a monstrosity DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE. FOOD WAS 25 MINUTES TOO

Over 34 minutes late can't speak to know one to see what's happening dont recommend

Ordered kebabs and chips stone cold when I got them,also delivery was late.wont be ordering from these again,also just eat driver stunk of weed absolutely disgusting to be handling food that I ordered!!!!!!

Absolutely delicious burger from here tonight.

Ordered on Uber eats and food didn’t arrive wish I could give 0 starts called the restaurant they said they’ll contact the delivery driver called them again and he said delivery driver had delivered it then call them again and they are no answering there phone !!!!! Don’t order from them!!!!

Have ordered a few times from downtown burger and they have never disappointed us. The food is always good quality and on time, will be ordering from here more often.

There was genuinely nothing good about my order. The order was late, cold and missing the drinks. The milkshake was basically sweet milk with a few bits of chocolate in it. The cookie "dough" was basically an overcooked crunchy cookie and had a piece of wrapper in it. Absolutely EVERYTHING was skimped, there was about 3 pieces of shredded lettuce and 2 pieces of diced onion in the burger, barely any bacon or cheese on the "loaded" fries. The price for what you get is extortionate. I won't be ordering from here again and based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend others to either. I also tried to call twice and requested an update through just eat and got no answer from either.

Terrible food. Arrived 50 minutes late. Tried to call store to no reply. Finally arrived. Stone cold, seemed to have been previously reheated and hadn't even delivered the correct items. Absolutely terrible place to order from

Very poor service, delivery was nearly an hour late, food was cold, have been refused a refund, you can argue it with the credit card company now, will never use again

Food was 20 minutes late when we asked where it was we was rudely told that the food would be with us within 5-6 minutes but it was 20 minutes late and then when we got our food it was stone cold and we had to warm it up so it was hot we WILL NOT be ordering from them again as the food and customer service was deplorable

Ordered from here, descriptions don't match the food. I got the Kentucky classic burger, it was a chicken burger in a soggy bun with some brown lettuce and a tomato. No nacho cheese, no American cheese and no gherkins. Disappointed.

It was a collection order. And they gave me some extra juice for free🤩.New management helped me to find best choice and I love the burger .highly recommend ✨

It’s really amazing The Gourmet burgers are soo juicy and and the chicken donor was amazing all the food delivered very hot. Their delivery drivers are so generous and very respectable

Been ordering from here for a long time now. I believe it has changed ownership? Had it around one month ago and and food wasn’t upto the usual standard thought maybe it was a one off so tried again but it’s terrible. Portions are a lot smaller, ordered bbq loaded fries no bbq on them. This used to be one of my favourite take outs but unfortunately will not be ordering from here again!

Been ordering here for a while now. Always order the same thing, at least 5 or 6 times before. The BBQ Meat Thunder Box with mayo, no salad and the Downtown Special Box, and have always enjoyed it. Ordered the same thing tonight and the BBQ Meat Thunder doesn't come with BBQ sauce at all anymore, when it used to be completely tossed in it and then to add insult to injury it was covered in salad. No salad was ordered for that Box at all. Just Mayo. My partner won't touch anything with salad on it with a barge pole. After ringing to explain that the order was wrong and that it looked like two Special Boxes but one without sauce, I was told rudely that I never requested BBQ sauce, and that I never explained that I didn't want salad. I didn't order salad and I ordered the BBQ Thunder so wheres the BBQ? Not gonna lie I got annoyed. Seriously has this place changed ownership? Also to add on top, even after picking out all the salad and slathering it in our own BBQ sauce, the chips were undercooked. After the way I was spoken to on the phone and the sheer lack of customer service I will not be ordering from here again. Inedible food, terrible customer service. Don't recommend whatsoever. Its not as if it was a cheap meal either.

0 star 😔I wanted to share my recent experience with a food delivery. Unfortunately, my food took more than one hour to arrive and when it did, it was cold. It was disappointing to receive my meal in this condition as I was looking forward to a hot and delicious meal. In fact, the food was so bad that I had to throw it all in the bin. Overall, the experience left me feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. I hope that the restaurant can work on improving their delivery times and ensuring that food is delivered at the correct temperature. In light of my recent experience with this restaurant, I strongly advise that people avoid ordering from this place.

My usual go-to Burger Joints were not open tonight, and therefore I was left with no option but to place an order with Downtown Burger. My food took between 30-45 minutes to arrive , which is quite speedy taking in to consideration the distance between me and the restaurant. I was greeted by a well presented, clean and friendly young man who handed me my bag of goodies that were left to unravel. As I opened my bag started to unravel its contents, I was fairly surprised that the food was HOT. And not cold or warm as I expected. I ordered a few things, feeling like my stomach was larger than an elephant. Hot wings, the Smokin Joe burger with fries, some loaded BBQ chicken fries and last but not least some milk chocolate chip cookie. As I inserted my fork into the loaded fries, I was met with instant cheesiness, and beautiful gold strands of cheese before my eyes, the fries were LOADED with chicken, which is a surprise as many locations skimp out on the meat option. Upon taking a bite I was met with instant flavours dancing around my mouth like the Irish Leprechaun around the gold pot. The cheese was melted to perfection, and the chicken was tender and juicy, the BBQ sauce whilst not overwhelming added a nice touch to the overall fries which were cooked to perfection and had the right texture in accordance with loaded fries overall, this was my favourite item. Next I tried to tackle the so called Smokin Joe, which was indeed smoking as I picked it up, and its juices came flowing out of its plastic wrapper dress. The brioche bun was soft and toasted to perfection and the two burger patties juicy and tasty. The lettuce was fresh as if it had just been picked and the onions tender, and flavourful adding a nice addition to the overall burger itself. The bacon was a little disappointing, fatty and not crispy. The burger patties could have also used a little more heavy handed seasoning, as I feel if wasn’t distributed evenly. It was still very enjoyable regardless and overall a good burger. The chips themselves despite travelling quite a long ways were hot, and crispy and possessed great starch content. Crispy outside, fluffy inside as you’d expect it. Having had one hot wing due to the beating wrestler Smokin Joe had given me, they were of great texture and had lots of different flavours , and the right amount of spicy. The chicken once again was juicy and so tender that it clings onto the bone for dear life, begging to be released. Last but not least, the not so favourite part of my meal. The milk chocolate chip cookie. Whilst not terrible, it wasn’t so great. I was expecting a soft, chewing, melt in your mouth experience, and instead I was met with Dwayne The Rock Johnson himself. The plastic spoon was no match to this opponent and therefore I had to use one of my metal spoons. The taste itself was ok. Overall I would order from Downtown Burger again.

Good burger, reasonably priced. Has its own speciality menu. I could not have found it to be nicer as compared to the other restaurants. The Waffler actually contains a tiny waffle for those thinking this is a burger in a waffle. I would definitely order from here again.

Used to be amazing. Fries used to be French fries and always fresh, now it's soggy basic steak chips. Chicken for loaded fries is just normal chicken with lots of fat on it, it used to be crispy. Bbq sauce was plain, was basically brown water. Takeaway box used to be amazing, now it's basic. Basically what I'm saying is that this place is bad. It is stale and tastless, don't waste your money on a lazy restaurant. Used to be so good, now you're the worst. Seems like you had a ownership change or you just got lazy.

I had the New York Burger meal with nacho cheese sauce, added at no extra cost one of the best burgers I've ever tasted! My missus had the cheese-burger box meal I had a taste and it definitely did not disappoint, very much recommend coming to DownTown Burgers! Nice one lads keep up the good work bless.

Very good portions even on kids meal. Deliver was showing 1h but come in 20 minutes. Very fresh food and very hot,looks like just was cooked at that time. 100% recommended

We have had different burgers, kebabs and munchboxes over the last few months. All have been the most enjoyable and value we've ever had.

Popped in today after hearing great reviews about this place. Words can not give their food justice. I’ve honestly never had such a juicy, flavoursome burger in my life. The milkshakes were absolutely banging! To top it off, their customer service was great! Deffo recommend everybody to try their food.

Hands down one of the worst take aways I ever had . Chips were clearly not freshly made, some left over batch that was re-fried... hot dog was tragic...bun was extremely soggy, ratio bun to hot dog not right either, buns are too small... Kebab wrap..ehh...Again problem with the ratio,very little veg ,90 percent meat, too much stuff in the wrap so it can't be closed, also extremely soggy so very hard to hold it together to eat.My partners burger was bland, same his chicken wings ... 21 pounds for such a poor quality... I'm disappointed . Won't order again.

Beautiful food comes piping hot and well cooked. Order regularly from these guys and never had a problem. Good portion sizes for the price and well mannered staff an delivery drivers too. Much better quality and prices than other fast food places in the same area with similar menu items. Kebab meat is lovely and cut well into decent strips and the Kentucky tower burger is absolutely amazing biscoff milkshakes are also much better than others offering the same in the area and also much cheaper. Very satisfied with food, customer service, price, quality and quantity all round 5 star 🌟

Awful Cheesy chips had no cheese on them. A couple of sprinkles. The chilli on the Hot Dog was burnt. There was no mayo on the burger and it was completely dry. Don’t waste your money.

Amazing food and even better value for money, food turned up hot and separate from the drinks, driver was lovely. I had the mixed Donner wrap, it came hot with loads of meat and salad chips were fresh and clearly cooked in clean oil. My partner had a burger patty's were clearly handmade was juicy and fresh and yolk of egg melted in his mouth, I couldn't be happier with our meal. Has definitly taken over our regular burger place could not recommend this enough!

I ordered from them once on Just Eat and the service was beyond. Food arrived super early (within 25 minutes), was hot, and tasted amazing. I then decided to order off their website, the first time was the same as Just Eat but from the 2nd to 4th time, it was horrendous. Constantly waiting an hour and a half to 2 hours for my food. When I check the site, the timer resets. Always have to call them to ask about my order and when I do, it just happens to be “leaving the store now” every single time after waiting for over an hour. Food gets here super cold and not enjoyable at all. If you’re going to order from here, try to not be a regular because they have very little regard for people who continuously support their business. Edit: I have placed orders directly from your website as well as JustEat. You responded overlooking the fact that you have multiple ordering platforms available? Good on you mate. I can assure you, I was a regular customer. Your JustEat reviews support my claims. I have changed my review from 2 stars to 1.

Been 1h and 30m waiting for it when they have 55m to deliver... Everything arrived cold, chips chicken strips etc... Cold chips, when I called back they argued, obviously that wasn't off time, I said that I had prints of everything to prove it. Then they said they would send in 10m more chips, after 30m they were here. So, 2h to have my whole pseudo meal ready to eat. Having a child, this was really awesome! Really poor costumer setvice and just to finish this, portions really poor as well. If you guys want quality, portions and a proper hot meal, order from PIZZA PERFECTION. Best in town.

Never ever buy a classic munch box on your own, unless you are participating in a man vs food contest. To say you get a lot of food is an understatement. It was all cooked to perfection and tasty and I couldn't find fault with it. Very tasty indeed and gutted I had to throw so much away, I just couldn't eat it all.

Ordered a few items for myself and my family via the Justeat app but unfortunately we were missing a Whooper Burger meal, My wife phoned Downtown Burger straight away and explained we were missing a meal. The person my wife spoke to said that she could assure her the meal was in the bag as the manager packed it himself, my wife told them once again that the meal was not in the bag and they agreed to send out another Whooper Meal saying it would be with us in around 15 minutes. 40 minutes later and still no delivery so my wife phoned again and asked what was going on and the same lady said it would be with us at any minute. 15 minutes later it arrived and I didn't really expect that it would so good on you Downtown Burger you are true to your word and I respect that. Although I did end up eating an hour after my family and I understand mistakes do happen we all agreed that the food was really nice and we will be ordering from Downtown burger again.

Just had the mixed box and Donner and chips from here. Food was very good, Chilli sauce was spicy and the portion size was generous. If you are reading the reviews to decide whether to order from here I would highly recommend the food 👍

This place is NOT good we ordered and food came in half an hour we were missing a drink and food wasn’t tasty the chips were the only good thing about this meal and the wings were without a doubt frozen never ordering from here again.

I ordered a Juicy Lucy burger. It should have cheese stuffed inside it. This was not a Juicy Lucy burger. There was nothing gourmet about the meat patty either. The cheese cake was frozen supermarket produce for which you charged me £2.50. Can't eat it yet as its still frozen. Won't be ordering again.

I have eaten from eastern delight so many times, there food is defiantly the best in Peterborough, there delivery times are the best for any takeaway in Peterborough, and there drivers always have a smile on them and are always friendly, I would recommend there kebabs because they are brilliant and taste so amazing, If no one has eaten from here before I would 100% recommend them. Defiantly the best takeaway in Peterborough with such amazing delivery times and food.
