Copeland Takeaway in Peterborough

Hands down one of the best tasting takeaway I've had in a while, the ribs had a perfect amount of seasoning where as some places its either overpowering or bland. Very tender as well, spot on. Big fan of the new Salt & Pepper chicken recipe so I highly recommend this as a choice to customers who want something simple but traditional & still packed with flavour. Spring rolls were yummy along with the S&P chips & the egg fried rice was on point. Very happy customer, would absolutely order again.

I ordered food last night, beef chow main and then a set meal of sweet and sour chicken (Cantonese style) with egg fried rice. The ingredients you could tell were fresh and the chicken very tender but I unfortunately received sweet and sour chicken without any sauce so it was dry and not very pleasant. I called up the restaurant and spoke to the chef and he made me a fresh portion without issue and had it delivered. With the sauce it was nice but I kept getting this taste through the entire meal and it wasn't pleasant. The chow mein was my favourite as I like it made without sauce which I've had in the past but I still couldn't get rid of the awful after taste. I can only describe the taste as a dirty oil being used, like they haven't changed the oil and are just refrying using the same oil time and time again. Not sure if this is the case but if it is at least the restaurant can do something about it. Apart from the unpleasant aftertaste I did feel the restaurant was very accommodating in sending me a replacement, all you need to do is ask. As stated the ingredients seemed very fresh and I enjoyed all the textures especially the chicken as it was very tender and perfectly cooked. I do feel as chinese takeaways go it was value for money especially with the set meals offering a variety of options.

The only reason why I am giving this place one star is because I can't give them 0, the "crispy" chicken was undercooked and soggy I then attempted at trying the starters which tasted wrong, the chicken balls have raw batter in the middle and the spring rolls taste like battery acid , the fact my notes stated I was disabled and they still couldn't be asked to cook it properly, I'm bent over my toilet puking and quite frankly I'm very tempted to make this a court case or just to report this supposed takeaway to the appropriate people.

Thank you so much for helping the Reception children and staff at Castor Primary School to celebrate Chinese New Year by providing us with such delicious food! The children absolutely loved their individual boxes and were especially excited by their extras including chopsticks and fortune cookies! Highly recommend Copeland Takeaway to everyone!

Food amazing as always!! Young boy who works at the counter is always so kind and helpful. He always goes above and beyond to make people feel happy. All staff are very generous :)

Chow Mein and egg fried rice was nice but chips and chicken balls were overcooked and burnt. My kids didn't even eat it. Waste of money and will not be ordering from here again

So disappointed with our takeaway received tonight, sweet and sour chicken balls with raw batter, bland pancake rolls, curry tasteless. Sweet and sour sauce watery and tasteless. Chow mein meat full of gristle. Very disappointing!!! Used to be the best but this was inedible. Will not order again.

I usually order Chinese food from Copeland Takeway, but lately I’ve noticed they’ve reduce the amount of food per order. They use to serve the sides on bigger pots and now they come on the smaller ones. Also the noodles were very oily. I hope this was a one off.

Changing my previous 5* review. Gone right downhill. Nearly 2 hours for delivery & the meat in my curry was full of gristle & inedible. Been using these since lockdown but no more.

First time of ordering from here! Don’t think we’ll be using again. Chicken fried rice was disgusting, smelt horrible, something not right and ended up in the bin! Rest of the order apart from the rice dishes were okay! The only thing that was good really was the chips.

Just had a Chinese from this place absolutely disgusting 3 years ago I left them an amazing review gone down big time had chicken curry asked if it came with mushrooms they said yes came with none also no flavour at all can honestly say worst curry I have ever had in my life chips were also disgusting my wife also said what she had was well below par must have been took over or new chefs could have got better from aldi or lidl the only thing which remains the same is the excellent delivery driver they have a really nice guy not his fault at all

Ordered an incredibly simple meal - Chicken balls and rice. Had to wait 30 minutes before they came out and handed my food only to realise it was Rice and Chips and the chicken balls were nowhere in sight.

Kind and helpful staff and amazing quality food. They do a good job and I love coming here :) it's a warm, welcoming environment. Like a family.

My food was missing items. We asked for them to be delivered and told 40 minute wait. Then they was extremely rude and not understanding the food is going to get cold and was saying sorry but we’re busy! Do not provide a service if you can’t fulfil it absolutely pathetic! I understand if your busy but if you mess up orders it’s your company that need to put it right and then he told me to microwave my dinner

Just collected a sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice dish… it was massively disappointing… tasted like it was made with cheap tasteless ingredients before today and then reheated in the microwave prior to collection. I ate half and sadly binned the rest, I don’t like wasting time, money or food. I’ve been coming to Copeland CHINESE for years, this is not the quality of a dish that would have been served before! Gutted…

Not as good as it used to be since when do you get cauliflower in your chicken stir- fry. Its like your adding any old veg just to bulk it out and use less chicken.

Food disgusting. Undercooked chicken, noodles like straw. Totally tasteless and food had funny smell.

For a chicken chou main there was absolutely no colour or flavour it was dry and smelt rank. I wouldn't have even fed it to a dog. I'll never order again from here. Which is a shame as it use to be a lovely place.

Foul . cant even describe how bad it was. chips were fab. The meat was so disgusting, i find it hard to believe it came from an animal. im disgusted with myself for eating it. my kids, too. luckily they refused to eat more than a few bites

Good food 😋, wide range of dishes. Not too pricey. Quick service. On take away option payment is by cash only. So please bear this in mind. Highly recommended.

Be very, very wary of ordering here if you have any simple dietary requests or requirements; I simply asked for no chilli on a Crispy Shredded Beef dish, the individual taking the order on the phone even repeated it back to me “no chilli?”which I confirmed by repeating a second time. On arriving home after collecting & dishing it up, I found it was absolutely laden with red chilli & more chilli flakes than I’ve ever seen on any of their dishes. As it was simply personal preference I tried it & I would guess that they had laden it with chilli to try & disguise the fact that the beef was burnt to a literal crisp. It almost resembled beefy burnt toast, but not in a good way (like bovril!) I’ve never had a Chinese like it, & it’s a dish I order every time without fail. The egg fried rice was somehow more bland than if you microwave packet rice, the chicken was super dry & chewy, & the chow mein was also very bland. I stopped ordering from here a few years back & thought I’d give it a go again during the lockdowns, but when the food returns to being basically inedible, it’s time to move on. If you still want to order, they’ll only take cash, no cards.

Well what can I say it was absolutely disgusting chicken balls were soggy crispy beef was soggy bbq sauce was runny, certainly won't be ordering from there again. Reason for one star is that it was hot

To my mind the best Chinese in Peterborough, food arrives hot and is always tasty, the chicken and sweetcorn soup is thicker than other takeaway soups and tastes great, not had a dodgy meal yet.

90 minutes for a 2mile journey is madness.i was told 45 mins and after a hour I called back and was told it was on its way.half and hour later I called again to be told its just left.i feel sorry for the young girl taking the calls.we spent £45 and ate less than £20 as most if it was cold.wont be ordering from them again.shocking service

We've used Copeland Chinese takeaway many times in the past, but after the meal we had this evening will definitely not be using again. The assorted appetizers spare ribs were mainly fat, prawn toast was burnt, chicken balls hard and very chewy, spring rolls overcooked. My wife's main crispy shredded beef overcooked very chewy beef. The egg fried rice tasted nothing like egg fried rice not nice nor edible My main house special chow mein hard chewy overcooked prawns, beef overcooked,basically inedible.

Great food they're set meals did me for 2 sittings, easily shared, great price too for under 9£

I’ve been ordering with them for over a year now and never disappointed . The portions are very large , the food is tasty and all the time is brought hot to your doorstep and the prices are reasonable . Is def my fav Chinese take away from Peterborough .

ordered at 7.30pm told will arrive at 9pm. 8.50 the website order on the way, by the time it was 9.15 the website saying sorry for delay and will arrive at 9.35. it has gone 9.35 and hasnt left the takeaway. we're on lockdown, it doesn't take over 45mins for a 9min car ride on empty roads. additional to this; they're is constantly busy?? ridiculous! after FINALLY getting through to them to cancel and get refund, had to speak to 2 different people as well as being told they havent even started cooking the food! not ordering here again. utter useless!

Very good food ,the sweet and sour chicken balls and cho main(however you spell it) are my go to ones ,the staff are friendly and food comes fairly quick but on the rare occasion the person behind the counter can come across rude but overall very good

First time ordering and 100% happy. Bigger portions than anywhere else and delivery time much quicker too! Only going to use this one from now on.

We ordered a meal to be delivered to Broadway Yaxley I was asked our postcode which is PE7 and was informed the meal would arrive in around 45 minutes,after around 45 minutes I received a phone call informing me the delivery person was at my front door, however he was at Broadway Peterborough and not Yaxley. Around 20 minutes later the meal arrived, however no prawn crackers were included the delivery person just shrugged his shoulders when asked regarding them after an order of £17 usually prawn crackers are included. When we opened the meal it was not hot and a phone call was made to the Copeland which met with a similar response to that of the delivery driver, As for the meal one of the pancake rolls was completely uncooked and the chicken in black bean sauce was basically peppers in black bean sauce. Don’t bother poor service and poor food

To Copeland, thank you for another first class meal. So much food, dinner for 2 is more like dinner for 4. Prompt delivery and polite driver. Would highly recommend.

Brilliant vegan rice with broccoli, peas and bamboo. The rice with beef and vegetables was also extravagant. The delivery was fast and the drivery driver was very friendly. I would recommend Copeland Takeaway because it is yet best Chinese in Peterborough.

Unfortunately we wasn’t happy about our order. Meat doesn’t look fresh, got rough and oily taste. Price is cheaper then in another takeaways, but better to pay a bit more thenbe disappointment.

Great Chinese. This is the best Chinese takeaway in the area. The portion sizes are great, a meal for one still feeds two people. Friendly service and prompt delivery.
