Down-Town Coventry in Coventry

This is the worst pub in Coventry and its been said by many people, to avoid this place, Reason due to its bad reputation and the place is run by children who act like there still in a playground, the place is well known for antisocial behaviour that attracts the wrong crowd. the owner isn't actually the owner he just leases the place and lies about it. The pub needs a turnover with the correct management and a team with professionalism, until that happens this is a place you should avoid completely.

I've been using this pub 20years plus and never had no issues in downtown . I love this place friendly staff and very good atmosphere. Had many great times in this pub over the years

The DJ is not customer orientated. There are major breaks in the atmosphere due to the fact that he's not connected to the dancefloor. What a shame....

The number one worst venue in Coventry, full of unfavourable characters, no bouncers, Awful Management. Avoid at all costs!

Great little bar, club that has had money spent on it, comfy seats, good barmaids in the morning. Very clean every time I have visited. Two buddies go out diving together, the water is dark in the caves and some parts are hard to follow. One is faster and leaves his mate behind. There is limited air in the dv and a problem occurs. Which lone diver makes it back alone?

My brother and I was out celebrating his birthday. He was attacked on the dance floor by the door staff and was hit and kicked when he was on the floor. He suffers from epilepsy and had a leg brace on. I then went on to call the bar after the incident to ask for the name of the door staff which they refused to give us the name of the company which is totally unprofessional. I will continue to pursue this complaint with or without the compliance of the "Down town staff"

Cheap beer an its alwayse had a gud atomsphere everytime ive bin ther.Safe it has a gud vibe about it haha..l know how hard it is to run a wet lead pub. I think gaffer here does a gud job an runs a good pub. An known it a cliche but the barstaff are gud.Add ok, M ..,.,

I have been drinking in this establishment for as long as the current owner has been involved in the business, about 23 years and witnessed several re-launches and have seen dozens and dozens of staff come and go, its been several nightclubs, but predominantly a daytime/evening karaoke/dj venue serving the coventry people with a cheap n cheerfull entertainment venue for workers after a days graft as well as the daytime regulars and witnessed its "evolution". It was a place people loved or avoided on false hearsay but i can say hand on heart that the current re-launch from impulse bar to "down-town" is the most significant change ever and it has moved from the equivalent of championship/division 1 team into the premier league, it has now moved into the market of offering everything from live music, dj's, karaoke, "through the decades"music from 60's to the naughties (covid 19 rules permitting) as well as excelent food. The renovation work has "catapulted" this bar into something dynamic that Coventry has been crying out for and the owner has managed to identify a nieche in the market to create a good vibe with the feel of a local pub in the city centre, mainly due to his friendly team of staff that make you feel this is a family run venue where all comers are welcome as well as established requlars, locals, friends and first timers, its a venue that satisfies all your entertainment needs from a midweek meal n music to weekend night out with a late bar, it has served me and my wife well over the last few decades and i look forward to a few more decades. 10/10, spot on, so if we fancy going downtown the only place we head for is down-town.
