The ****HADDOCK****please try trust me it’s the Tops!! 😋 Kebabs & kebab burgers also high level, AAA standard of kebab meat I’m guessing, it’s certainly better than any other chippy around!! 👍💜

We are a regular user of Dovehouse fish bar. The food is always of a consistent quality and we have never had any issues. The Kebab and chips is always a good choice. Reasonably priced for the area.

First time here and it’ll be the last. Fish so tightly wrapped in paper impossible to get off without all batter stuck to paper and chips were one big congealed mass, yuk

It is the best fish and chip shop in the area, but they could serve the meals in trays and the “cash only” thing can be annoying at times! Drinks are cheaper from the shops next door.

This is our regular chippy, we come every Friday pretty much. It's usually busy busy but that's the most popular time I guess, it's handy that you can order online. Great quality ingredients, the fish is the best I've tried. I fully recommend!

Generally the food is good (expect Solihull prices) and the service is polite and welcoming. But they still do not accept card and the staff seem to prioritise the online orders rather than the people in the shop. These points are just annoying which is why I marked them down. They did have a ridiculous Kebab ordering system but rectified that. It’s a fine place to get your fish and chips.

Fully recommended. Very high food hygiene rating - true because my grand daughter worked there. Good potatoes and fish cooked freshly.

I’ve been using it for 27 years but recently it’s gone to pot. It’s always been more expensive than rivals but the quality was decent and it was local so you put up with it. However, the fish has dramatically shrunk in size in recent years and they seem incapable of serving it in a way that the batter stays on as it’s soggy. This only highlights how little fish you actually get. Very recently the chips have followed suit, being inedible on the last two occasions due to just being one amorphous greasy blob where the undercooked chips just stuck together. No doubt my wife will continue to use it but when it’s my turn I’ll spend the extra time and go to the Greville.

I used to travel here for fish and chips all the time but the portions are now really small , i asked for a large cod and chips, when it was served i told the girl that i had asked for a large cod not a mini fish, she said it was as a large cod which i was amazed at, a gentleman also in the shop i presumed was the owner was also a bit disgruntled at my comment. after that i have not been for several months until last night, same problem, the fish was so small i laughed, £7.50 is a joke, i also heard another customer moaning about the size of the portions, i can only put it down to greed charging so mush for so little, i think they are cutting portions into two & it was also very bland not tasty like it used to be years ago. The fish at my local chippy in Astwood Bank is far better, a lot of taste & 2 to 3 times bigger, i will go back and photograph the portions from the 2 shops & add the photos to show the comparison, it will be a shocker, again very disappointed at my used to be favourite chippy.

Went into the shop at 8:40pm on a Saturday night only to be told they had no chips. I knew the shop closed at 9pm but I thought there would be some chips with 20 minutes to go. Would love to review the food but THEY HAD NO CHIPS AT 8:40PM ON A SATURDAY NIGHT

Twice in a row they've got my order wrong now; last time I ordered haddock and chips and they forgot the haddock, this time I asked for two portions of mixed meat and chips and they forgot the chips in both portions! First time they were busy so it was maybe excusable, this time I was the only customer in the place so there's no excuse. I don't want to eat just a big box of meat so my meal is ruined.

Amazing food and amazing quality the food is always fresh and bang on. Can not fault this place. The fish is perfect and definitly worth the wait while you know your order is been cooked to order.

Visited here again tonight for my friday night treat and have been coming here since i was a child . I Live local and wouldn’t use anywhere else. Staff always friendly and happy to help. The older lady has been there as long as i can remember and always greets you with a smile. They didn’t have any haddock left as it was fairly late but the owner cooked me it from fresh which goes to show the lengths they will go to keep their customers happy and as always it was delicious! Also felt with current covid situation they have a good system and very safe. Highly recommend!

Golden, crispy and mouth watering haddock. Its a taste of the seaside in solihull. I've eaten at many fine fish and chip shops around the country (I love fish) but Val and Eleni have got it bang on the money with what they do. Its well staffed, organised, friendly and they will go the extra mile for their customers. Every time I'm coming through the solihull area, I just have to grab some of that sexy haddock, although last time I treated myself to a juicy kebab, lovingly prepared by the owner himself and it really filled a hole with his generous portion. I'll be back for more.

I’ve been comming here long time , but find it’s not the same smaller portions , and bit exspensive, I have now tryed your other chip shop Harvey’s on gospel lane , lovely staff but what a shame you have to stand around smelling weed,, cannabis from out side the shop the staff our aware but can’t do anything, lovely service here friendly and good food but I don’t want to be high as a kite by having to que outside with this smell ,

I ordered couple of things off the menu. The food always taste good from Dovehouse. There fish and chips are tasty, aswell as the kebab and pies. I live about a 4 min drive and normally order on line, the food is hot when eating! The staff are lovely and the service provided is spot on!Any problems they sort it out there and then. Tried other fish and chips places around before trying Dovehouse and I won't be going anywhere. Love the this place!

Had Plaice which was amazing crispy batter , Husband had mini fish and chips which again Were amazing crispy batter , chips were lovely not at all soggy . Friend had the same she loved gets - curry sauce and peas very nice Definitely recommend ad would hve them again.
