Many hotels do an acceptable job of meeting guest needs. But rare are the hotels that provide warmth and kindness like the DoubleTree by Hilton London Kensington. Under the tutelage of Hotel Manager Charlene Decobert, her staff (and most especially Front Desk Manager Jonathan Chesney) offered our group every possible consideration. A rare and memorable experience! This hotel will become our new home-base for visiting Kensington/Chelsea for years to come.

This hotel was a great place to stay. Kensington is a great location and there are many restaurants and cafes near by. Transportation is very easy as the hotel is located near the tube. Staff greeted us with cookies and were very helpful throughout our stay. They even upgraded my room for free.

Not sure why it’s got such a low rating - probably due to upheaval during renovations, which didn’t affect us at all. The staff are amazing, everyone was very warm, friendly, and made extra effort to check on our comfort. Breakfast was fresh, in a constantly cleaned dining room, with a ton of options (pastries, three kinds of eggs, cooked vegetables, beans, meats, multiple cheeses, multiple yogurt parfaits, fruits, cereals, and two espresso drink machines). Stayed in the Queen duplex, it was clean, spacious, comfortable, and perfect for a quick weekend with two kids on the sofa bed. Located across the street from the very convenient District line tube stop.

Need refurbishment on floor and water stains on toilet and breakfast menu. Education on serving technique at restaurant.

Location is great, close to tube stop, kensington park and the natural history museum. My room was a typical 4* room, no unpleasant surprises. Bed was a little firm for my taste and certainly my wife found it uncomfortable. Breakfast buffet is good and worth paying the extra for. Staff were attentive and courteous. Didnt get chance to explore the gym or outdoor area, but they look nice.

I went to meet up with a friend and the room was very nice ! Liked the lobby, minimalist yet cool . Didn't use any of the facilities which is why I left the 'service' star section blank . Would I stay there ? Yes ! But I have no idea of pricing . I'm sure from what I saw and location, it can't be cheap .

Bottom line: Great location, rooms pretty good, service and food wonderful. Will definitely stay here again. My family enjoyed our 9 night stay at the Doubletree Kensington. First, the location cannot be beat. Every imaginable convenience is 200 yards away. While I did try the hotel breakfast (which was good), my family opted for one of the several pastry and coffee shops that are right outside the hotel (highly recommend PAUL). There is also a small grocery and a pharmacy across the street for anything else you might need. The Gloucester Road tube station, also 200 yards away, connects you to all of London in less than 30 minutes. We took the Piccadilly line in from Heathrow and it worked out fine. As another reviewer noted, the sidewalk is slate but we did not have much issue with our roller bags. There is a small lift next to the stairs to help get your bags into the hotel. There is no on-site parking. We booked one of the two story suites that had a king bed and bathroom up with a sofa bed and seating area down. It faces Cromwell Road, which is quite busy. We always bring a white noise machine and had no problem with traffic noise. We did not hear any of our neighbors. While no room is ever perfect, we found the cleanliness good but the overall condition to be average (as in, normal wear and tear on a hotel room). Blackout curtains worked great. No issues with the air conditioning. Storage is always a problem when staying for a long period. We ended up using floor space to open 3 of 4 suitcases because there was only enough space for one person's clothing in the 2 drawers available. It would be nice if they used more of the open space for storage. The bathroom had adequate shelf space to stash all of our toiletry bags. Another convenient feature is that the room had lots of wall outlets with the section by the desk having multiple styles of plugs. I didn't check the voltage but I would assume that the variety of plugs still carried 50hz/220v. Apparently European hotels have a regulation about plugs in bathrooms, be prepared to blow dry and curl your hair sitting on the bed. The Secret Garden restaurant is a nice quiet space to enjoy the summer weather. We had a few appetizers and cocktails that were excellent. There are no ice machines in the hotel but the bar can give you an ice bucket. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I used the app to begin the check in process the day prior and requested an early check in around 1 pm. I was notified it was not likely but they would try. When we arrived, we received the same story but they would have one by 3 pm for certain. My family started to discuss what to do with 2 hours when we were notified that the room was available. My other interactions with staff throughout the week were always positive and helpful. Other members of my party had started their stay at the Radisson Blu Vanderbilt on the next block and had an awful experience. They came to our hotel partway through our stay and were shocked at the superior quality and staff at the Doubletree. Overall, we would re-book this location in a heartbeat. It's not a luxury hotel but it is on-brand with every other Doubletree I have stayed at in America. The location cannot be beat and the staff always treated us well.

The hotel was ok. Well located close to the train. The receptionist was not friendly or helpful. The restaurant manager was the only one that was super nice at all times We asked to freeze a few ice bags for medical purposes and they were not helpful and only put it in the fridge so it was Only cold and not frozen

Love this hotel and the location. Great value for the price. This neighborhood is really well connected and is very safe to walk around. Rooms are large and clean, and the AC works fantastically. The staff is very kind and accommodating. While you can pay more for a more luxurious hotel or better location, this one is great for the price. Comfortable and clean

We loved our stay at the doubletree Kensington. Highly recommended for consideration for people touring London. Great great location in a very nice area of Kensington. Metro is just steps away from the hotel. Staff were professional and very helpful. Breakfast was great. We were a family of 4 and visited London for the first time, got a room with 2 double beds which could be hard to find in Europe. Not sure if it was part of being a diamond member, we received goodies as welcome gift in our room.

Stayed 5 nights and air didn’t work. Kept shutting off and getting hot. There wasn’t double lock on door and safe didn’t work. Staff was friendly and breakfast was great. Went to Paris and came back for one night. Room then was great. AC was perfect.

How is this a 4 star hotel? Maybe when they finish renovations? Stayed in another hotel rated 4 stars at end of trip and it doesn’t compare at all. Felt more like one of the lower tier brands and not a doubletree. Staff was very nice but room was passable. Ok for 2 stars, but wouldn’t pass for much else. Carpet in room was in bad shape, maybe it was waiting for a renovation (evidence of wear and tear where furniture used to be), it was stained everywhere. Shower didn’t drain well and bathroom was not vented and overall the air was stale. Ordered breakfast in and it was bad. Fruit salad was full of unripe fruit and had some canned fruit (honestly the edible parts), our stomach was not feeling well for a couple days. For some reason they ripped the concierge desk out while we were there. It was odd to go by construction. Also the lift to the sidewalk was broken which really sucks for accessibility (and heavy luggage : many other four star establishments in London have porters).

Check-in was painful. It took so long. The room I reserved online was not given to me. I had to reiterate my need for 2 separate beds. I got some dog eared excuse about the reservation people not talking to the hotel. I was at the desk for over 20 minutes. Same poor service at the bar. Ordered a half pint to be told 15 minutes later the Stella was off. But the room was huge. Bed was comfy. Ideal for Gloucester Rd tube station and the Royal Albert Hall.

The hotel was very nice, the breakfast was good, within walking distance to the metro station and museums, the rooms were clean and the dinner was good, I recommend it to everyone.

Great hotel, very welcoming and very professional staff. Very clean room with comfortable beds. Full breakfast, we don't miss anything. The hotel is located 5 minutes from a metro station which provides direct access to the three main lines. We had a very pleasant stay.

I only deducted one point from the rooms because there wasn't much desk space to put stuff on. The breakfast is good, the location is a 5-minute walk from the history museum. There is a metro station right next to it and the breakfast is excellent. I recommend it to everyone

It's rare that I come back to edit, but this stay warrants a revision: Reshma welcomed me into this Hilton property like I was royalty. What an outstanding representative of the Hilton brand!! Thank you kindly! Only my best Larry ----------------------- Arama, Reddy, and Josleen were the night team when I stayed. They made it memorable. One early morning, they started the big, fancy coffee machine for me!!! Love Hilton!!

You cannot go wrong with Double Tree Hotel. You book yourself in for a room using the restaurant and many more things to do. I have been to this hotel to use the spacious meeting room. My recommendation is to look them up on the Web.

We stayed as a family of four for five days in a deluxe double room with two double beds. The room was functional but was actually only used for sleeping as there is so much to see in London. Everything was clean and tidy. Since our room faced the street, it was sometimes a little louder at night, but you could still sleep well. The only shame was the fact that the windows couldn't be opened. All the employees were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was rich and delicious. The best thing is the location of the hotel: less than 3 minutes from the Gloucester Road underground station, you can reach the hotel from the airport in just under 45 minutes on the Piccadilly line and from here you can reach the hotel in no time on the Piccadilly, District or Circle line Time everywhere. Or you can take the bus, which leaves almost directly in front of the hotel. Overall a great stay and we will definitely come back.

Mixed review for this hotel. It’s certainly not a 4 star hotel by any means. We had a two floor suite with a sofa bed on the first floor, a large bed on the second floor and two bathrooms. The size was great for a family of 4. Having two bathrooms was wonderful with two teenagers. Liked the coat rack in the foyer and the daily cleaning. The location was fantastic - closed to Heathrow, museums, Kensington garden and with many pubs and a grocery store nearby. That’s where the positives end. First, we had a long wait for our room. We requested an early check in which is typically provided to Hilton diamond members. Not here. They do not really recognize Hilton diamond members at all. I figured they would expedite my room given the diamond status but it was actually delivered to us after the check in time which is irritating when you are super tired after a transatlantic flight. The first room we were given (booked for 4 people) did not have the sofa bed made and you have to request the cleaning crew to do that as the linens are not in the room. Why wasn’t that already arranged for a group of 4? A 4 star hotel would have done that ahead of time. When we opened the sofa bed the mattress had stains all over including what looked like blood stains. Gross. When I notified the front desk they miraculously had another room available with the sofa bed already made. The room was big and roomy but definitely showing its age. Carpets had stains, stairs were chipped, outlet next to the bed was coming off the wall. The AC was a disaster. We would set it every night to the lowest temperature available and would always wake up in the middle of the night because it would automatically switch to the highest heat setting. I informed the front desk and no one ever looked at it or got back to me. In addition, the lights in our hallway would not switch on so we were typically welcomed back to a completely dark hallway. Again, notified the front desk and nothing was done. Customer service needs a lot of work in order to truly be a 4 star hotel. The front desk staff is not very friendly or attentive. The breakfast is mediocre compared to other 4 star hotels in Europe. The tables were typically dirty and the coffee machines constantly out of order. The same food was served every day. It was a disappointing stay all around and I really wished we had stayed elsewhere even though I liked the location. Won’t be making that mistake again. PS. Front rooms are very noisy. The hotel is on a busy road with lots of noisy traffic.

Beautiful hotel with a large room and well appointed. Great location in Kensington, close to the tube station and lots of shopping and dining close by. Beautiful area.

Had a nice event experience there. Therefore, did not stay in the rooms so can't comment. But staff were very nice. They only have 3 beers at the bar. Corona, Stella & Camden Ale. They need to have Guinness on draft!

Ayrıca Ukraynaca , Rusça konuşan insanlar var. Çok yardımcı oluyorlar. Kahvaltıda iki çeşit peynir var. Çocuklar pancake makinesini sevdiler. Arka bahçe güzel.

The most amazing tea experience we have had so far! Tea was served in a cozy clear dome with adequate seating and heaters, surrounded by trees. The ambience was beyond compare, food was delicious and service was exceptional!!

I would like to Thank Wajid he was very accommodating and supportive to our requests and sorted our problem He was the only one listening to our issue and trying to solve it ⭐️ The rest were RUDE and didn't want to help I asked one of the staff that we want to split the bill so two of us did but when it came to the last person she said the system is not accepting they payment so we said we will pay the next day .. suddenly automatically the system deducted the amount left in the system and also extra amounts from my card so total it was 4 transactions with different amount also till now we didn’t receive .

The room was lovely and big and had everything you needed for a short stay. As it was a birthday staff had left a surprise which was appreciated. The only thing that doesn’t give it 5 stairs was the following morning the room above was having some work down and we was woken up by lots of banging. The staff did get them to stop when we rang, but we was awake by this point. This hasn’t stopped us from returning again.

Vendo algumas avaliações negativa não consigo entender. Sou brasileiro não falo nada em inglês nem minha família, só o meu filho fala o básico e ele ainda é criança. Chegamos no hotel às 9 da manhã e o check-in era às 16:00 da tarde, a atendente da recepção de pronto já nos arrumou um quarto mesmo chegando às 9 horas. O quarto que por sinal muito limpo com duas camas de casal muito boa. A limpeza era feita todos os dias, inclusive no final da tarde passava uma funcionária perguntando c foi tudo bem, café da manhã muito bom. E o melhor a localização, bem em frente uma estação de metrô. Muito top o hotel.

I wouldn’t stay at this Hilton again. The receptionist staff were passively aggressive as I didn’t want to accept the room with the broken tv. She assigned me a dusty and dirty room instead. When I asked for a second key she told me gruffly that keys are starting to run out and make sure I return this one. The staff are pompous and unfriendly - the staff base during my stay were predominantly Asian (Indian,pakistani) and they seem to treat Asian customers and white customers with preferential treatment. Some bar staff seemed to have an issue with me using my tab even though others were also using tabs. I sent photographs of my room to head office, explained my experience and they apologised. Although the location was ideal for me, I wouldn’t stay here again even if you paid me to.

Qualità e servizio del double tree, alla maniera inglese, anzi londinese, un hotel in un palazzo storico ma internamente completamente rimodernato. Stanza quadrupla al sesto piano, non grandissima, ma molto comoda, bel bagno, molto pulita. Servizio giornaliero perfetto, colazione buona, internazionale, con scelta non amplissima, ma abbondante. Bella palestra, bel giardino, utilizzabile solo in bella stagione. Personale attento e simpatico. Solo qualche piccolo problema in stanza. Finestra con spifferi, non siamo riusciti a usare cassaforte e a regolare aria condizionata. Non abbiamo segnalato il problema perché non ha influenzato negativamente il soggiorno. Posizione assolutamente strategica

[방, 위치, 가격] 이곳전에 이미 다른 힐튼호텔에서 10박을 머무르고 런던으로 넘어왔습니다. 역과 거리가 가까운데다 자연사 박물관, VA 미술관에 걸어갈 수 있는 위치라 이곳을 선택했습니다. 런던은 이번이 4번째 방문으로 다양한 호텔과 에어비앤비를 경험해 봤는데, 그중에서도 Earl's court - Kensington 까지는 땅값이 굉장히 비싼 곳 중 하나입니다. (Victoria 쪽은 너무 관광지라 제외) 스위트를 이용했는데, 테라스가 있고 주방이 있습니다. 방 크기는 위치를 고려했을 때, 타사 대비 적당한 사이즈라 합리적이라고 느꼈습니다. [조식] 일반적인 힐튼브랜드의 영국식 조식이었습니다. [서비스] 여행을 하다보면 변수가 많아 서비스를 세심하게 보는 편입니다. 그런 점에서 만족스러운 호텔이었습니다. 제가 갔을 땐 Layna 매니저가 따뜻하게 맞아주었고, 우리가 가장 좋은 서비스를 받을 수 있게 안내해주었습니다. 긴 여행의 마지막날이라 지쳤었는데 환대만으로도 기분이 좋았었네요. 전반적인 서비스는 총괄 매니저가 프론트 데스크를 항상 지키고 있어 즉각 조치를 해줍니다. 아침 저녁 오갈때마다 Wajid가 없던 시간이 없을정도로 총괄 매니저가 호텔에 굉장히 헌신적이어서 인상깊었습니다.

We stayed here for two weeks over Christmas and had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly, warm, and helpful. The room was clean, and had everything we needed. Best part besides the staff was the location: across the street from Gloucester Rd. underground station, and walkable to Chelsea, Harrod's, Kensington Gardens, and Hyde Park. Kensington felt slightly removed from the super crowded and touristy areas (a good thing, imo!), but there was still plenty going on. Would definitely stay here again, thank you.

The room was very dated. There were no lights on in the hallway pitch black. We waited 20 at the restaurant and never even got water or drinks. So we left.

Just where I would like to show my dissatisfaction over rooms' cleanliness. Sakshi and her colleagues at the breakfast won our hearts with their hospitality they showed through out our stay

Some of the staff were great, some staff clearly had no interest. When I arrived four members of staff were bickering at reception. All ignoring my arrival and check-in, it took a fifth person to notice, walk over and respond.

Lo mejor del hotel es la ubicación, al lado del metro. Tenía una reserva de tres noches abonada directamente con una agencia de viajes. En el hotel me solicitaron una fianza de 60€ diarios el día que llegué, indicándome que me lo devolverían el último día. Hace tres semanas que estuve en el hotel y todavía no me han devuelto la fianza de 180€. Les he escrito un email y ni me contestan. Mucho cuidad con la fianza que paguéis.

We had a nice experience in this hotel. It was my husband's birthday, the hotel offered us a bottle of bubbly on arrival and a complimentary breakfast. The 5th floor yard side rooms were relatively spacious (25m2) and also quiet. Overall, the staff was really friendly.

Despite the room being spacious and furniture looking nice, the hotel is lacking in some very basic aspects for the double room: 1) there is no mini fridge in the room 2) no vanity kits are provided 3) the TV was not working and when I raised this at 8pm they told me we had to wait until the next day for maintenance to come - I’ve stayed in many other hotels where overnight maintenance staff is on site 4) the room walls are extremely thin, could hear the room next door to an unreasonable extent 5) the wifi did not work great 6) the phone did not connect to reception

Avoid this hotel! The only positive side is it is across the street from the Gloucester tube station with three lines you can jump on.... Booked directly has I have and use Hilton frequently and have always had great success at DoubleTree's and other brands...It started before arrival since there are no emails to contact the hotel I called 3 time before arrival to talk about possibly getting a early check in and if they could help with something for my wife's birthday. Each time was transferred repeatedly until i ended up going to voicemail that was of course full. We arrived earlier than check in about 11:30am and sometimes we're lucky and get a room and other time snot and that was the case. We checked our bags in with concierge and asked where we could get lunch. was promptly pointed to the restaurant who said they were closed. Went back to front desk and I will say the level of hospitality and even cordial interactions was a rare treat over our five nights. Asked if they could give any kind of window on our rooms (we booked connecting rooms) and was told check your app. I'm like okay but I also work in resorts and hotels couldn't you check with housekeeping and even get a ballpark and was told no and asked if we could be notified when our rooms were ready and again No... So we set out for lunch...came back awhile later and asked about our rooms. and was told check your app. so we camped out in the lobby and about 90 mins later got our rooms...we did get in slightly ahead of official check in so that was good but could have been a bit more hospitable. We go to the rooms, and we are in two rooms that are in desperate need of renovations...I'd read comments about a renovation and that hadn't happened in these two...went back and asked if we could have different rooms and was told No. We at least had connecting rooms, but they were dirty, stains on carpet and i can only assume was semen stains on the sofa, heater didn't work well, burnt out light bulb, missing furniture, exposed tack strip from the carpet and leaks in the plumbing. Called and they sent facilities who gave lip service on the heater and never did work well...would randomly shut off and room would be in the low 60's and freezing, brought light bulb and was never replaced...There was no art work and was just the most depressing hotel room I've stayed in I think even the "Bate's" style motels we stayed in in our teens/twenties were better.... Hilton should really have a conversation with the Franchise owner as this is just unacceptable on so many levels if it's a room like then take it out of commission... Breakfast was okay one time and the second time possibly due to staffing nothing was replenished basically a $28 bowl of cereal and coffee. Just go anywhere else!

I came at 12 PM. I checked in. I asked them to do early checkin. The lady in the reception she not respect the customer. After 4 hours cleaning the room tooth pick. I did not recommend at all. Special. Thanks for Christina. She helping us and trying to fix the issue

Worst ever!!!! The only good thing about this hotel is maybe 1 nice employee... and the location of the hotel! They have lost our laundry! And occasionally, the housekeeping staff would just come in while we're sleeping.. the first few days of our stay, there were some construction going on in the rooms next to us! The noise was just awful! And you can hear ppl next to you and their footsteps! Just awful!!! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone

This was the worst Hilton I've stayed in. Had a cold shower the first morning after a workout, thin walls so you could hear others in their rooms and walking down the halls at all hours of the night, and both nights my TV was not working, at least my tablet and Prime Video was reliable. The only positive was its a good location close to many shops and restaurants and right across the street from an underground line. 100% would not recommend a stay there and would never stay there again.

I liked how close the hotel was to multiple underground lines, the digital key option and the pleasantries of the lobby staff. The layout of the bathroom was odd with a swinging door instead of a pocket door and the carpet had a large stain.

Not a bad hotel in a very convenient location. Room and washroom were clean and I was impressed by the amount of kitchen tools, utensils, etc. in the kitchenette area of the suite. Balcony also provided a nice view into the courtyard. Definitely a more dated building but was still comfortable and worth the cost. One disappointing area was our experience returning to the hotel after dinner. As it was a late reservation, we ended up returning a little after midnight. The door was locked, and a key fob scanner outside the door instructed to scan our key twice to open the door. This did not work, and another couple had no luck with their key either. We attempted to call the front desk with the call button on the same machine, but there was no response and the only person manning the desk just stayed behind the computer. Only after 3-4 minutes did someone come open the door. Be careful if returning later in the evening and confirm the procedure to get in.

جيد جداً لكن اول يومين الغرفه كانت بدون مكيف وبدون تيليفون لو ابي شي لازم انزل الرسبشن، التكييف يحتاج الى تغيير الغرفه حاره.

Location and breakfasts are amazing. The inability of staff to make credible recommendations outside the hotel was very wanting. The inability (when we asked if they have washers, dryers and laundry facilities to use on site) level up ahead of time caused a frustrating episode in which we had to find a local laundromat and drag the laundry down the road to do it was also a porr reflection on what was represented to us up front. Otherwise, a good pick to stay.

In general my expectations were met and was a lovely experience with all the staff.

Utmerket beliggenhet rett ved buss og t-bane, men likevel stille og rolig på rommet som lå ut mot en bakgård. Veldig hyggelige ansatte både i resepsjonen og til frokost. Veldig god frokost og hyggelig forholdsvis rolig frokostlokale. Matbutikk og flere spisesteder i umiddelbar nærhet. Standarden på rommet og gangene var litt under det jeg forventet, men det var rent og ordentlig og vi kommer tilbake.
