We were looking last minute for an afternoon tea in London as a gift for my niece and found Double Shot/Viola’s when looking for available options. Visiting earlier today we were pleasantly surprised by this place! It’s tucked away from the main streets around the Theatres on The Strand, but it’s a great option. Our booking was at 2.30 but the table was ready when we arrived ten minutes early. Everyone working were rushing around making sure everyone was receiving their meals but they still took it in stride. The afternoon teas were slightly different to advertised, there was a shortage of their popular French toast, but the replacement of yogurt, granola, and fruit was a welcome one (nice and light in amongst an afternoon tea). I’m not a fan of salmon but the salmon bagel was delicious. The avocado toast was lovely and fresh (in December, in London!) and my favourite savoury by far was the truffle mushroom brioche. The scones were extra, but worth the cost, they were light and only a little crumbly. The mini tiramisu was gorgeous. And what we didn’t eat, they were happy to box for us to take away. The shop itself has a cozy feel, but still has a modern vibe to it. The staff were so nice and helpful. But the value for money was amazing. Some of the sold out teas we looked at were easily twice the price, and for a London venue to charge £30 for an afternoon tea (+£5 for the scone, cream, and jam) and still taste delicious?! We definitely want to come back!

Had a booking for 11am, were told when we arrived that we would have to wait 5 minutes or so because the people on our table were late to their booking so had run over. A bit annoying but were happy to wait a short time. Left us stood outside for 20 minutes, until one of our group went inside to enquire about the hold up only to be told the table are refusing to leave so we have to wait for a table to become available. Finally sat down at 11:30, and were left until 11:45 still having not taken our order. At that point we’d had enough and decided to leave. Staff rude and unbothered, and the place itself is a huge disappointment. Instagram looks great, but reality is a dark and small cafe dressed up with a few flowers. Don’t waste your time!!

Was given an afternoon tea voucher as a present from our son. The voucher expired on 31 Aug ‘21 but we could not be through on their booking line and when we did get through, we were told no bookings being taken. So, on Friday 27 Aug ‘21 we went to the restaurant and they sat us down outside. When we asked for afternoon tea with the voucher, and even though the restaurant was not full, they declined to honour the voucher. The response from the Manager was ‘it’s not my problem’ !! Are they running a scam ? AVOID THIS PLACE. Doesn’t deserve to be in business or to survive.

Now trading as Violas. We had to ask for the menu ourselves after having been seated for nearly 10 minutes. Our food took an eternity to arrive. When we asked why the delay the waitress just said "its being cooked". When the food did arrive it was cold and just mediocre. Alarm bells should've rung when we saw dishes on the menu described according to how photogenic they are on instagram. We only had savoury so can't speak for the sweet dishes and pretty coffees. But food has to taste good and not just look good. Especially at those prices!

Visited this cafe with a client for afternoon tea. Staff displayed a very bad attitude, we’re rude to myself in front of my client. Made us feel very unwelcome absolutely disgusting behaviour. Would not recommend this place 🤬🤬🤬 Left feeling very annoyed 😠!!! Lots of staff training required here on what customer service is!!!!

The double shot Covent garden is a quaint setting decorated with flower garlands inside and out. The owner was friendly and super helpful. The layout and crockery of the tea were so beautiful, the whole thing took the most beautiful photos but the definite star was the food, it was the best afternoon tea I have had! Would definitely recommend and visit again!

Service great from the start, we were looked after very well through the whole stay. Food arrived promptly and was gorgeous! Could have fed another person with the afternoon tea for two, we purchased a bottle of wine to go with it and it was perfect! Couldn’t ask for more from this little independent, well worth the visit, we will be back

We got the 241 afternoon tea with wowcher for £25. We weren’t expecting much but it was really lovely. Avocado and egg on toast, cheesy mushroom toast and salmon bagel, all very tasty. All the cakes were lovely too but the tiny fruit tart was my favourite . Service was great and we sat outside in the sun Recommended

It really is a little gem, I’d thoroughly recommend. The waitress who looked after us, whilst we sat outside in the sunshine, was really attentive and could not do enough for us. The food is very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. I’ll be back!

Had a deal for afternoon tea and was not disappointed.A relaxing visit with friendly helpful service. Lovely surroundings in which to sit. The food looked almost too pretty to eat and served on attractive mismatched plates etc. The savouries were very tasty and a change from sandwiches. The yoghurt bowl had a hint of cardamon and was decorated with fresh fruits and berries. The banana french toast was delicious and so pretty. Other sweets lovely except the tiramisu which was too creamy without much flavour. However my friend and I had a delightful and delicious experience.

Cozy and quirky atmosphere with an absolutely fabulous afternoon tea deal. Staff was friendly and chatty. Only downside was the tea selection, nothing really to choose from apart from the most generic ones, the deliciousness of the sandwiches and cakes made up for that small deficiency.

It all looks OK but service is poor and the bar food served is cheap frozen food at prices that should require a far better quality. There are far better options in London

Caja de almuerzo muy saludable y abundante. Me tomó mucho tiempo terminar en realidad. . Servicio agradable, no demasiado pretencioso, relajado. ¡recomendado!

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.

Fui a desayunar. Mucho a mucho. Este lugar no es para mi. Buen café sin embargo.
