The sweet waffles at this restaurant are truly delicious and crispy. The portions are generous, and the toppings are tasty. The staff is friendly, which helped me choose a delicious dish. I recommend trying the ice cream as well!

I went it today to place an order and no one was at the counter and I waited for more than 10minutes and no one answered us. There was a delivery driver waiting to collect and other then the worker came out and walked backed in after giving the person their other order , totally ignoring my presence. I decided to wait believing he will come back outside but I had to call out for him and I was obviously pissed and I complained but he disregarded the fact that I was pissed and was telling that I was meant to be standing in front of the counter while I told I have been waiting for long , I didn’t appreciate how he spoke to me at all cause he was extremely and he would have surely sent a lot of customers away just like he did for me today. I love ur stores desserts but because of how that guy spoke and treated me , I don’t know if I will ever come back or tell people about ur desserts anymore

Had an amazing experience at Doorstep desserts. The service is amazing and our server was so lovely and friendly. we ordered cookie dough and a brownie and they were both delicious and came with ice cream. The interior in the restaurant is beautiful and has a such a cool hot air balloon theme! I recommend this place for anyone with a sweet tooth looking for yummy and well priced sweet treats !

Ok if you get your full order. Incompetent staff. Check orders before leaving, so that customers won’t be left disappointed. Won’t bother ordering from here again. Did inform delivery guy, but failed to come back with the rest of the items, so essentially was ripped off!

I ordered on Uber Eats, the deserts that came correct were okay but I ordered the pizza rolls and I didn’t even receive them as well as the vanilla frosting and sauce that is supposed to come on the red velvet cake, so I payed nearly £8 for a small slice of cake which made me unhappy, tasted mid as well. Overall payed £30+, don’t think I’ll be ordering from here again.

Ordered several desserts this evening for collection, picked up and once home found large piece of dairy milk wrapper, smaller pieces of wrapper and a large Chunk of unblended dairy milk bar in the milkshake. Not impressed with quality

This restaurant deserves an award for taking the piss. Ordered my family and myself, some desserts for our after Iftar treat and I spent about 50 bucks just to get the tiniest portions I’ve ever seen in my life. The milkshake was abnormally small (so small I thought it was the side ice cream for the waffle) and my children who never finish their desserts ate there’s no problem and still wanted more.I don’t know how these guys are getting away with robbery, but what they charge compared to what you get is absolutely vile. Would not recommend, unless you like being treated like a chump

Ordered on Uber eats. Desert was cold when it arrived. Part of the order was missing and we just got told that it was 100% in there when it was sent out. Wouldn’t pick up the phone. Very arrogant to speak with. We will never use this place again.

The desserts are fantastic. My favourite is cookie dough. I like to pick my own toppings so it's nice to be able to customise your dessert. The Movenpick ice-cream is super delicious, well worth it. Presentation is also impeccable. I can't recommend them enough!

Ordered 4 desserts for 4 different people, expensive enough but we went for it. Order ended up coming with just 1 desert and the ice sides of the other desserts. Rang them to know why the items were missing and they wouldn't say anything other than just to contact Uber. I can understand missing one item from an order but missing basically 3/4 of an order is shocking and something I've never experienced. Worse customer service ever for the amount you pay. Will never go back and I will spread the word of how awful this place is.

I ordered a selection of desserts including strawberry waffles, cookie dough, sundaes but I was not too happy with the quality of the food. The waffles were dry and not fully cooked. They were soggy and the chocolate was also not enough. I order from another Doorstep branch regularly and they are perfect, I thought to try this branch but was disappointed.

Ordered for the first time for my Fiancé for his birthday. He loved it. And thank you Doorstep for the kind gesture for writing happy birthday. It really made him smile. It was really nice of you guys. The Ferraro milkshake was really good and the Lindt Cheesecake was heavenly ❤️🥹 you really made our moment very chocolatey. Thanks from Ben and Christina

Portions and shakes could be bigger but still amazing

Update: Nearly a year later... I was in the mood for ice cream so I stopped in. I wanted ice cream on a waffle. They had my fave flavors: chocolate and vanilla/honeycomb. But! They wouldn't let me choose the flavor that was put on the waffle!! I bought 2 single scoops in those flavors. Come to find out, they gave me vanilla, which I froze and saved for my morning coffee. But it was sour so it didn't work. I'm never coming back. Cute decor doesn't make up for bad food and customer service. Spent £11 and I should have gotten Ben and Jerry's for £4 and had ice cream for a week! Original Review: I am new in town and am trying the local restaurants. I had a choice between this and another dessert shop. Unfortunately I chose this one without reading the reviews. I like to give businesses with 3 starts a chance to boost their ratings. I ordered dinner and dessert at 8:00pm and received an email stating that my order was pending and then accepted. This made me very happy because I haven't been able to change my cell phone to a local number yet. But, if they can email me - I can work with that. They quoted 50 min - 1 hour waiting time, so I started making some sides to go with the dinner I ordered. Over an hour and a half later, I do not have my food. I have reached out to them twice through email, because I am not able to reach them via voice. I let them know how their delivery person can reach me through talk/text if necessary. No response. Their website has a 'live agent.' So I contacted that and was told the contact the restaurant directly. Whomp whomp. I can't imagine that the food would be hot - even if it gets here. I have to go to sleep in an hour and now I'm just going to have the sides for dinner. Others have reviewed that they have good food. I will give them a chance and stop in if I'm in their area. But, as of right now, no food, contact through email regarding a delay/further wait time/issues contacting me - I have no choice but to give it one star, and hope they do better next time.

Used to be nice desserts here, but for some reason everything is going downhill lately. Not the same as used to be. So I found another desserts shop and sorry, but not going back to Doorstep Desserts.

For what 20 mins late past the max time. Usually on time, but said on its way for 50 minutes. Rang twice just to check as was starting to get confused. Delivery driver basically threw our food on the doorstep and sped off unnecessary without even checking his received. Poor effort. Normally a very common orderer

I have to say, Your pancakes were absolutely delicious, The little drizzle of maple syrup and the slight tartness of the strawberries really made my pancake day complete, The fluffiness of the pancakes was incredible, i will highly recommend this place to my friends. 😋 🥞

The photos are both of ice cream.. if you didn’t realise.. because I wouldn’t of, Food was so bad it should be a criminal offence.. actually deserves an award for most disgusting thing I’ve ever been delivered. Who ever owns this place needs to re-evaluate their career choice.

Prompt service, and delicious desserts

My partner was constantly telling me how good doorstep Desserts was so we ordered one night and I was so disappointed I will not order from here again. Estimated time was 55-70 minutes we waited 90. We ordered 2 different milkshakes 1 large 1 regular and they came switched so the one that was supposed to be large was regular and the regular came large. Both cookie dough bases were cold, the pot of custard was stone cold and the whipped cream was the consistency of water. The milkshakes were really good but unfortunately the rest went in the bin. Absolutely awful

Ordered via Deliveroo only for the order to arrive missing half of the ice cream, and one of the two ice creams that did arrive was wrong - we ordered vanilla brownie and received plain vanilla ice cream. I rang to ask about the missing ice cream only to be told that they didn't stock vanilla brownie and that I needed to contact Deliveroo if I wanted a refund. The staff member was extremely unhelpful and didn't apologise for the errors in our order, he instead sounded very disinterested. I was extremely disappointed in the service that we received and have also complained to Deliveroo since we have been offered no refund or compensation for the incorrect order.

No staff wearing a mask. Over six people were entering the shop, this should be monitored and if there are too many people they should be asked to leave. People were entering the shop without a mask and still being served even though there was a sign saying that if you weren’t wearing a mask you wouldn’t be served. This meant that neither customers nor staff were wearing masks, potentially causing more cases and risking more lives.

Order took over one and a half hours. Rang 3 times, the guy who answered kept saying it was 5 mins away. He then said it was outside when it wasnt and had to wait another 20 mins. Food was cold when arrived. Not impressed, poor customer service.

Ordered first time from the Western boulevard branch for delivery. Desserts were delicious, ice creams were still very cold, cookie dough was lovely n hot. Great n yummy ddesserts definitely recommend.

I've been ordering from doorstep for quite a while and it has been great, delivered on time or early, food was nice and attention to detail was great but until recently they've been going downhill, serving overpriced Asda value dried up pancakes with close to no chocolate sauce on and ignoring requests such as ringing me instead of knocking the door loud at late hours, I wouldn't normally complain but it takes the p*#£ when you've been a loyal customer and they think it acceptable to serve you a 5 minute throw together...it's not -_-

I ordered from the Loughborough branch for the first time. It was an absolutely fantastic. We had Milkshakes and Sundaes and they were delicious, great customer service and fast service. I would highly recommend this place and will be a returning customer. Not expensive either.

Missed a call at 10.43 and then called back at 10.44 but line kept dropping so I text to say coming down. Delivery driver continued to ring saying "do you want your food or not" absolutely disgusting service and I can understand why there are so many bad reviews about service on here. Told me he had been waiting 5 minutes but I called back within 1 minute. We have always ordered from here but wont be ordering at the risk of this rude delivery driver coming again. Cookie dough was cold for the second time but they will blame that on "waiting" for a minute.

Didn’t receive all of my order and what I did actually receive was cold. Then went on to find a hair In my brownie and when I called to speak about this the lady was rude and told me me I would have to wait another 60 minutes for my missing items!! AWFUL will not be ordering from here again!!!!

Just had an absolute melt of a delivery driver knock the wrong door because of your mix up then start to argue with me saying I need to pay then start shouting at me saying why have I taken it when I was trying to check the receipt to see which address he should have been at. Now my children are awake and some of us need to be awake early hours for work thanks door stop desserts.

Placed an order for a few drinks and a dessert, waited and waited then called and told they tried to deliver but no one was in, well obviously we were in they had just ignored the note about our doorbell not working.. spoke to about 5 or 6 different ppl at the store and was told I'd have to wait another hour for the delivery this would be around 10 30 PM after we ordered at 7 30 PM. Asked for money back and got told we would have to contact just eat. Spoke to just eat and they said the store marked us as delivered so no refund can be given. Spoke to the store again and then they dropped a real gem.. because customers lie and claim money back when they have delivered food they will mark all orders as complete even if they have not completed the order as this protects them from dishonest customers.. so in their exact words you have one option wait for them to deliver and how long is a piece of string for the time.. honestly the food is nice but you are risking sanity points by going with this lot.. oh and Google reviews does not exist to them as they flat out denied ever receiving a bad review in the 5 years they have been open.

Absolutely awful customer service! Was told could be delivered but would be another hour, on top of the hour already waited. As good in the warmer,so would be in there for 2 hours before it even got delivered asked for refund and refused refused was told would need to call back tomorrow!!

I missed a call to confirm my address and then when I called them back I was greeted by an extremely rude staff member. Shouting at the phone for me to give her the “CORRECT CONTACT NUMBER NEXT TIME”. Food was 40 mins late and the ice cream was melted. I wish I could give no stars. Seriously overpriced food. Decent place for quick dessert. Shakes are really nice but this time it was less flavoury but still good. Had brownie cookie dough 9/10 and waffle with rapberry sauce and strawberries drizzled with nutella 7/10. Pricewise the desserts are okay but shakes could be cheaper.

Ordered at approximately 20:30, by 22:00 it hadn't arrived so I called them, they proceeded to say that they meant to call and confirm the order but forgot(surely me placing the order and paying for it was confirmation enough I wanted it)I wasnt hostile when i called or aggressive as I understand mistakes happen and we've all done it at one point or another however he explained to me that they forgot to call and then mid conversation sighed and hung up on me!I called back, still calm as he might've accidentally dropped the phone or something, he then started shouting and passed the phone onto a manager I assume who said I'd have 5% off my next purchase, which doesn't even cover the delivery!!!!JOKE of a resturant and absolutely miserable staff.safe to say would never come back or order again, completely put me off and others should be warned before dealing with this absolutely unprofessional restaurant.

Omg what an amazing idea and fabulous experience, I had the raspberry coconut tart= raspberry jam ,slice of sponge with coconut on top served at school. Poured over the delicious custard provided transported me back to schooldays puddings...heaven

Very disappointed!We ordered 3 cookies and ice cream. They delivered cookies without the ice cream. When we called the shop they said they were very busy and therefore even if they send us ice creams the cookies will get cold. They suggested that instead they can offer that on our next order they will give us a 15% discount! Mistakes happen and the missing ice creams did not bother me half as much as the response! So instead of refunding part of the payment for this order or trying to quickly rectify the issue, they expect us to order again and then get a discount. Thank you very much. Won’t use the discount because I won’t be ordering from your place again. Very poor customer service. I suggest you reflect and train your staff. Simple things like how you handle such an issue can make or break your business.

One of the best dessert vendors in leicester!. In my opinion much better than kaspas and creams, doorstep is right on DMU campus and offers a selection of hot and cold desserts, eat / takeaway / delivery. During freshers we got 2for1 dessert vouchers and claimed 2 hot brownies (peanut butter and Nutella and strawberries) both were delicious and as expected quite sweet and sickly but the ice cream helps cut through that. They also sell tango ice blast which is very popular as not many vendors in leicester sell it besides the cinemas. Definetly worth a go especially students!

This place not worth anyone’s time. The staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. They’re product is of extremely low standards. I have had desserts from there twice. The first time dessert were alright but took extremely long and the service we received was horrible. I decided to try again hoping that my first experience was a one off incident. I received a burned cookie dough after waiting 40 minutes for it and when I asked for a discount the basically said to me I could either have it as it is or go somewhere else. TERRIBLE SERVICE

My husband and I had a “cookie dough” dessert each delivered from here on my birthday. They have a large menu of sweet treats and also things like milkshakes and breakfasts. We both chose a DIY cookie dough where you get to choose all the aspects yourself and add any extras. The food was delivered in good time and served with ice cream.Definitely worth looking at!

1.30 hour wait, double stick waffles were incomplete missing the strawberry sauce. Disappointed for first order, enjoyed the kinder bueno milkshake and tango blast.

Ordered two drinks, both supposed to be large, actually what I would class as medium as they're small. Ended up waiting for 2 hours, again, for two drinks that also came to around £16. Pretty expensive for two small drinks and a 2 hour wait. Shame I couldn't rate lower than 1 star

Won’t be ordering from here again. First I must say the website is very confusing and isn’t laid out properly. Ordered two cookie doughs, well what were supposed to be cookie dough. They were more of a brownie, which clearly wasn’t ordered. The flavour of the cookie dough was just chucked ontop. So for example the Oreo cookie dough crushed Oreos were just chucked ontop with a splash of sauce. And the ‘ice cream’ yeah well that wasn’t ice cream was it. If someone orders something don’t give them the opposite. Basically you lack everything. Unhappy customer.

I order from here a lot but the last few times have been rubbish! Today's order came nearly an hour late and when you try to call they kept putting the phone down then either blocked the number or turned the phone off

If I could give 0 stars I would..made my order at 9.10pm turned up at 11pm if I hadn't all ready paid I would of cancelled it...rang the store and they put the phone down 4 times....I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN

I have been into the store before and knew the food was good so thought we would order some to be delivered. We placed the order just after 12:00am and they confirmed the order for delivery for 1:35am and even said it was out for a delivery half an hour before it was meant to be delivered which we thought was good service. However it went past the expected time by 15 mins so we gave them a call and was told it would be with us shortly. 25 minutes later it still hadn’t arrived so we called asking for them to cancel the order as it was over 2 hours after ordering and 35 minutes late. They then informed us that our order hadn’t left the shop yet, and that they were waiting for a confirmation from us despite us ringing them 25 minutes earlier? The man on the phone was rude telling us to “shut up and listen” and claiming that we were lying. They said they had tried to ring us just after ordering but we had no number of theirs in our call history. This became quite a heated discussion when all we wanted to do was cancel our order as our guests who ordered some food had left as it got very late. We weren’t too bothered about the wait as we would of attempted ordering from there again another time, but the rudeness from the man on the phone was unpleasant and rude, and made us very uncomfortable. Overall quite glad we didn’t receive the food as they said it had been sat there since we got the notification that it was out for delivery which would have been about an hour.

Very poor service! We waited over 2 hrs for delivery! Didn't get an apology or even offered a discount for it being over an hour later than the delivery time given! Once it did arrive there were items missing! Disgusting, will not be using again!! Expected much better service for such over priced deserts!

Absolutely terrible service, staff are abusive over telephone, takes your money but doesn't deliver your food, food was cold and stail when I went in to reorder and repay for the same thing they failed to deliver the first time, an absolutely horrible experience, will NEVER be returning! The staff are arrogant and there behaviour towards customers is disgusting and unacceptable in a working environment they act unprofessional towards customers and can not keep up to their orders the food is always cold when you order and take along time to deliver. Their desserts are horrendous. For all I know they need trained staff who know how to time keep and be polite at the same time utterly horrendous. Never again shall I order. A massive disgrace the staff was so rude and did not vouch for their mistakes I ordered at 22:58pm to be precise and the order did not arrive till 01:00am. I only ordered 5 drinks and 1 dessert. When the order arrived the dessert was so cold and the women on the phone said that the order is kept warm in the car however the dessert was freezing and the ice cream was literally melted like milk. We sent the order back and then they did not return the order the women on the phone was ever so rude. The manager or owner then came in store however during this point he wasn’t present he then apologised for their mistake and told us not to write a review and said he will send the order out the following days when we wanted. We rang back a few days later and they have not vouched and they said they are unable to send out the order. We are very disappointed in their actions and will be letting our family & friends not to give you business as the staff are atrocious and do not know how to run a business. Ever so angry 🤬

Had a really bad experience I wanted to have my desserts for me and my friend at 21:30 because We was out most of the evening until about 20:30 I get a message from just eat to say your order has been en route at 7:30 I had to come home for this and complained then so then and even the waffles weren’t cooked properly then at 12:30am my friend was being sick and all I could smell was the peanut butter cake and she couldnt move and was still being sick by 1:30 and didn’t get to bed till 2:30 and then she was sick at 8:30 This morning I think it’s appalling how I didn’t get my money back and didn’t get the order delivered at the right time😡😡😡
