What a lovely pub! We was out celebrating my Dad's birthday last night and we had a great time. We was served by Amber who was very good waitress and made us laugh. The food was very good and must say a thank you to the cook .

7 of us visited the Dooley yesterday for a Christmas meal Can't fault it. Staff friendly and helpful, food very good and reasonably fair price. Attractive and comfortable

There's nothing pretentious about the Dooley. We like the staff, and the food, which is homely and unoriginal. What's described is what you get. Most of the customers come from the docks (largest container port in the country) or nearby holiday caravan parks (in season).

Segunda visita para el domingo. Almuerzo con mi esposo. La comida no era tan buena como nuestra primera visita como Yorkshire estaban congelados no fresca como la primera vez. También había niños descontrolados corriendo y jugando bajo la mesa mientras comíamos.

My friend and I thought we would try The Dooley again after many years away. Suffice to say we were very disappointed. Upon entering the pub kids programmes were on the television for someone's child taking up a table. This made us choose to sit in the conservatory so we could have a conversation. I ordered a jacket potato with chicken and bacon (normally they do a 'stuffed' potato mix but I didn't want the Mayo) and my friend ordered a tuna sandwich. They obliged by serving me a barely cooked potato with chopped chicken and bacon which had a strange yellow tinge to the edges and the sandwich was OK according to my friend, if a little sloppy with the mayo. When I told the staff member that the potato was undercooked she collected it and also confirmed that the yellow tinge was mustard. I asked for cheese and beans jacket potato this time as I thought this would simple. When the replacement meal was served the waitress said to let her know if it wasn't cooked and then I could have a full refund if not. I couldn't understand why she couldn't have checked this herself?! Unfortunately the second potato was also undercooked. Before we left the pub I went to the till and a different lady served me. She wanted to only refund me for the (cheaper) cheese and beans option so I had to insist this was incorrect. Thus followed her conversation with the original lady who then agreed this information. I was told that their normal chef wasn't there as a reason for my complaint. Does that remove the ability to serve food as it should be-cooked and not tainted with other items from the kitchen with a side order of attitude? We will not be returning especially after I received the death stare whilst receiving my refund even though i was perfectly polite. Appalling service, attitude and food-you have been warned.

We walked to this pub from the caravan park and was amazed at the stunning views at night it was constant lorrys and cranes moving lighting up the dark sky as if it was daylight we sat outside on the picnic tables.for twenty minutes in awe of the biggest port in England, afterwards we sat inside the warm cosy lounge there was a log burner going in the bar keeping the whole pub warm ,the toilets looked brand new and were very clean ,they have a pool table and a dart board in the smaller back room ,we havnt tried the food yet so looking to try that in the future

Went there with my son last year. It's right by the port, has a large car-park and is full of drivers from the port. It's in good nick, quite smart and does good portions of plain food (gammon and chips I had, I think) at a decent price. Plenty of types of beer, as I recall. Not really a place for an evening out, but good for a good meal and a pint.

My family was visiting Felixstowe over Christmas and we popped in for a quiet lunchtime drink. The staff were a little abrupt and the place wasn't really suitable for families (which isn't really their fault). MUST TRY HARDER!

There was only one young lady serving, making coffees, taking food orders and working on the till. The queue was long and it was hot and uncomfortable waiting for our take out coffees. I did return later with my 3 grandaughters for ice creams, again had to queue for ages with ice creams in hands waiting to get to the till. In the end I asked if there was anyone else that could just take for the ice creams before they melted completely. Surely one person needs to be making the coffees while another takes the payments? I saw three other staff in the kitchen or wiping tables but surely the priorty in a business must be to attend to waiting customers

Always a good experience - even if you dislike food shopping. Often easy and rarely are the queues too long to irritate - even at Christmas!

Poor. We arrived at the start of the day with few other customers. I had the full English which looked picture perfect. However, it was largely cold, especially the beans which I didn't eat. The sourdough toast was so thin it tastes and looked like a flatter Ryvita wafer. I would not recommend this as a destination for breakfast and won't be returning.

Lovely pub which has retained its old world charm, friendly bar staff and management. Pete was really helpful and welcoming. Our evening meal much better than we expected - freshly prepared and great choices. Breakfast simply excellent. We took our dog and the room was more than adequate with easy access to outside for early morning walks. On site parking, lovely position and pub garden. Easy walk into Southwold or catch the ferry. We had a great time and plan to return.
