Very good Spanish restaurant, food and service is good! they get quite busy around dinner time and food comes in slower, one of our dish came in very late and the manager apologised and take it off the bill, very good service from beginning to end, and better to book in advanced, they’re quite popular at weekends and Fridays!

I am extremely disappointed with the service and experience at Donostia Restaurant on what was supposed to be a special celebration for my mum’s 60th birthday. My mum loves nothing more than a perfectly cooked medium-rare lamb chop, so we ordered 3 portions (a total of 9 pieces) of medium-rare lamb chops. We waited 35 minutes, only to be told that the chef had made a mistake. After an additional 15 minutes of waiting, the lamb chops were finally served—out of the 9 pieces, only 1 was cooked medium-rare, 1 was raw, and the rest were well-done. This was unacceptable, so I complained. The waiter assured us they would prepare a new batch. Five minutes later, we were informed they were running out of lamb chops and could only serve 2 portions. With no other choice, we reluctantly agreed. After waiting another 15 minutes, the lamb chops arrived, and yet again, all of them were well-done. This was the third attempt, and it was an absolute disgrace. Whoever was responsible for cooking clearly wasn’t competent—it’s just grilled lamb chops! Frustrated and angry, I asked for the bill. We were told that the payment machine was jammed, so we had to wait again. When the machine was finally fixed, it was taken to another table first, adding insult to injury. To top it all off, please consider the discretionary service fee—which I should have revoked and instead used as a training fee for the chef to learn how to properly grill lamb chops. Thank you, Donostia Restaurant, for completely ruining my mum’s 60th birthday. You had multiple chances to make things right and failed every single time.

Donostia is, without a doubt, one of my favorite restaurants in London. Their croquettes are exquisite, the potato omelette is incredible and their cheesecake is, without exaggeration, the best I have ever tried. Plus, it's located on a quiet street which I love. @nerea.iglesiasss Donostia is easily one of my favorite restaurants in London. Their croquetas are delicious, the potato tortilla is amazing, and they have the best cheesecake I've ever tasted. On top of that, it's located on a quiet street that I absolutely love.

Absolutamente excelente en todos los aspectos. Gran servicio, ambiente fabuloso y buena comida española con un toque vasco. Algunos vinos realmente interesantes en la extensa lista. Este es un restaurante de visita obligada si quieres una cocina española de gran calidad y ligeramente diferente.

Very nice little Basque tapas/Pintxo place. Staff are very professional and friendly. I wish I had tried the cheesecake I loved that when I visited the basque country :(

My favourite place in town, have been coming here for years and it never disappoints! Such a warm convivial atmosphere and the food is out of this world. Recommend the bluma iberica yum yum 😋

But what really ruined the evening was the fact that we saw **rats** in the kitchen and running around the restaurant. Shockingly, one even **jumped onto my food**! I brought this to the attention of the chubby server, but she clearly couldn’t care less. Despite the appalling situation, we were still charged **£150** for the meal, even after the rat incident. Needless to say, this was a disgusting and disappointing experience. Not only was the food subpar, but the hygiene and service were unacceptable.

Both the food and service were absolutely fantastic, 5* easy. I did request a table downstairs when making my reservation but was instead given a table next to the kitchen, so the atmosphere wasn't quite as I'd hoped, but otherwise fine.

The service was good, and the food was special and flavorful, however, this is the rudest place I have ever been to. I rarely give a restaurant such a low rating, but this place made me so annoyed and shocked. The chefs shouted as they pleased, and the restaurant manager did nothing about it. I saw a waitress being abused by the chefs, and I also noticed one of them glaring at us while mumbling something unfriendly. Terrible experience. Such a rude and toxic environment. I prefer a friendly and quiet atmosphere when dining

Superb food, excellent interesting wine list, friendly staff. Andres the head of operations for bith Donostia and Lurra across the street looked after us calmly and confidently. Charlie the chef and team presented the food - all of it delicious. Serene atmoshpere with character. Muchas gracias por la experiencia!

We went because we wanted to try some Spanish food (being from Spain). The croquettes were very good, and the bravas were excellent. Although I have to say that the bread with tomato had too much tomato and the tomato salad was very average. In general the food is good although the prices are a little high. In any case, the place is very nice, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant, so if it is your first time eating Spanish food it is a good option.

Wonderful food, attentive (sometimes a little over attentive) service. Generally an excellent experience I would thoroughly recommend it.

I asked the chef what was the best dish try, he suggested the Pluma dish ( Iberico de Bellota Pork Shoulder with romesco sauce ) .. and it was absolutely delicious !! 🤤

I found this place from Michelin guide, I thought it was good, unfortunately I had a bad experience here. Restaurant has big problem about sanitary I could tell, the pillows on seats seemed did not clean for hundred years, floor is old and oily. The most disgusting thing was, the pork shoulder meat I ordered was not fresh, smelled like rubbish on the street, reported to waitress, she sent the dish back to chef, and chef recooked the meat, and sent back to my table,very soon manager walked to my desk explained his pork was high quality , he sold a lot, and asked me to try again, I tried, it still smelled bad. I would suggest you don’t order pork at least.

I am absolutely appalled by the experience I had at Donostia last weekend. This establishment boasts about its "high standards of hygiene," but what I witnessed could not be further from the truth. During our meal, I saw not one, not two, but FOUR different mice scurrying around the dining area! This is absolutely unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one that claims to prioritize cleanliness. What made this experience even worse was the complete lack of concern from the staff. I immediately notified our server after spotting the first mouse, but my complaint was brushed off as if it were no big deal. When I brought it up again after seeing more mice, I was met with the same dismissive attitude and the only solution they provided was to move us to a table nearby (only 2 meters away from where the mice were appearing). Not once did a manager come over to address the situation or offer any sort of apology. It's clear that the staff here couldn't care less about the customers' experience or the serious health risks posed by a rodent infestation. This place needs to be shut down until they can get their act together. If you value your health and a clean dining environment, I urge you to stay far away from this restaurant. This was easily one of the most disgusting and infuriating dining experiences I've ever had. How this place is still in business is beyond me.

Omg!! I wanted to come here for dining for a while, I couldn't be more happy than I am right now. Food was amazing each dish was cooked to perfection, the attention from the Managers was great, the recommendation of the dishes was 100% accrued. We ordered about 7 dishes and couple of cocktals and bottle of wine (for two ppl- tapas style) and we just loved it. I could only managed to take a photo of one dish as keep forgetting to take the rest as we keep carry on eating!! Just so good. Will definetly coming back! :) Ps. Do not forget to order the cheesecake!! You won't find anything like that in LOndon!! Just perfection!!

This place is incredible. The food was so good, I’m still thinking about it. The selection of ingredients from the meats and cheeses to the multiple glasses of bubbles - your mouth will be wanting more of everything. And get the basque cheesecake if you want to go all the way. Absolute knockout!

All the food is fantastic, I recommend taking the counter table where you can see the chief's cooking directly, the open kitchen is so lively and fun. Fish and meat are perfectly cooked, tomato based sauce with almonds is very tasty. One of the best patatas bravas I've ever had. And of course, you must order Basque cheesecake, it's melting and absolutely gorgeous.

A treasure away from the tourist areas. Every mouthful was a delight from the Croquetas de Jamon to the Burnt Basque Cheesecake. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are very knowledgeable, explaining all the dishes to those of us whose Spanish is a bit rusty. A well run restaurant and I would definitely recommend it. You will return.

Nice little restaurant with a simple and charming decor. £21 for well-cooked octopus and 3 potato slices. Totally too expensive for a plate that was barely prepared, dull and quite poor. Disappointment at the sight of the plate. The Basque cheesecake dessert was excellent! No photos taken because the plate was so disappointing.

The food was quite normal, there are loads of better spanish restaurants. Beyond that, the service was terrible, one of the waitress was kinda shouting at another one, being quite rude and ruining the atmosphere. They also brought us the bottle of wine after our 3 dish when we had ordered 4, which was forgotten by the staff and we were waiting for it around 40 minutes. During that time, we had in front of us the dirty bowls and no one came to ask us if we needed anything else or even to take those plates. We won't recommend at all.

The worst ever Spanish food I’ve ever had in London. Not recommend at all. Dishes are extremely salty. BTW I’m already towards preferring salty food, it’s still way too salty for me, and the famous basque is extremely sweet, feel like immediate diabetes

They were kind to sit us for a quick lunch on Friday right before they closed for afternoon. Tomato salad is not to miss - yes really. Cold plates items could be bit chilled as it was more room temperature. Was recommended by someone who’s been multiple times and I’d want to go back to try other dishes plus cheesecake. Service could be improved like mentioned by other reviewers.

For those moving in the area: because of an area outside where people can easily sit outside of opening hours, loud people sit there often until 3/4am (no one can help you remove them), local employees do the same from 5/6am onwards and are loud on the phone, litter collection between 12.30-2am, food deliveries from lorries with loud music and loud employees between 4-5am, so loud earplugs won’t be enough. The main landlord and restaurant won’t be able to help you that: the real noise is this night delivery/ random loud people activity, not the restaurant itself during opening hours…

Hemos estado en Donostia muchas veces y siempre ha sido genial. Sin embargo, la última vez que fuimos fue muy por debajo de nuestras expectativas. Los platos que permanecieron a la altura y deliciosos como siempre fueron el pan con tomate y los pimientos padrón. La ensalada especial de sandía también era deliciosa y fresca. El servicio también fue excelente, y el personal fue muy amable como siempre. La ensalada de tomate suele ser nuestro plato favorito en el menú, sin embargo esta vez los tomates carecían completamente de sabor, nadaban en aceite de oliva como una sopa, y estaban muy fríos como si salieran directamente de la nevera. Además, los tomates que nos sirvieron no se parecían en nada a lo que recibieron los huéspedes a nuestro lado, o a lo que estamos acostumbrados. Se cortaron aproximadamente en rodajas grandes y no tenían el sabor jugoso dulce al que estamos acostumbrados. Los platos principales que pedimos, el arroz salmonete rojo y las chuletas de cordero eran demasiado aceitosos y salados. El chef siempre parecía echar grandes cantidades de aceite de oliva en los platos que se enviaban, lo que los arruinaba. Esto es una pena porque los platos estaban bien ejecutados y habrían sido geniales sin todo el aceite / sal. Realmente espero que este problema se solucione porque realmente disfrutamos de este restaurante. Definitivamente volveremos, esperando que hayan solucionado estos problemas.

Even though we had a nice meal I don't think anything we had was extraordinary or delicious. We had to wait between 25 to 30 minutes in between dishes. Even though our lovely waitress acknowledged there were delays she could not explain what was going on in the kitchen. As I mentioned the dishes were nice but to most of them we had to add salt as they were quite bland. The best dish for me was the octopus. Cooked to perfection (but bland). The tortilla was also very good. Lovely with runny egg in the centre. Both the pluma and the lamb chops arrived lukewarm at the table (we had waited for 25 minutes for those dishes). I assume they were left on the pass for a while before someone realised they had to be sent to our table. We sent back both dishes and after about 15 minutes we got new dishes. All in all it was not a great experience so I don't think I will be going back.

We had an amazing meal at Donostia. Outstanding food, great service; a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. The croquetas were delicious and definitely try their daily specials The manager was terrific and helped choose a fantastic Ribera del Duerro from the unique and excellent wine list. And save room for their Basque cheesecake....Wow! A truly great meal.

Every course is beyond expectation, especially the cheese cake is to die for. Also have a interesting wine menu

Sunday night supper - packed for a cheeky end of weekend tapas treat. Food was delicious….steak, tortilla, croquetas especially nice. Friendly staff, great wine recommendations, and happy punters…..perfect way to round off the day.

Overall everything is delicious. Is it good value for money? This may be a bit ordinary, but if you want to eat delicious Spanish food in London, I can recommend it.

Staff are so professional. The service was seamless. When we looked up for some help someone was there. A great business lunch without the pressure to move on. Food excellent. Recommend it for anyone.

Éramos nueve en el comedor privado de abajo un viernes por la noche en mayo. Cuando la comida llegó era delicioso, pero el servicio era demasiado lento. Esperar hora y media entre el primer plato y el plato principal arruinó bastante la velada , lo que fue una pena ya que se trataba de una celebración de cumpleaños . Creo que fue un caso de demasiadas tapaderas y personal insuficiente.

Overall the food is delicious!!! Food was very tasty!!! I think we tried to order the whole menu! However, the problem was mainly Front of the house. (FOH) I have made the booking myself as it was my birthday and I can assure you they wasn't welcoming. They were a bit rude with a lot of attitudes!!!! We were looking for our waitress all night as she wasn't paying attention to our table at all. On Sunday night there were just a few tables around. We had to wait for drinks for almost 40 min . We wanted a bottle of wine and we ordered from the manager at the time. I guess he didn't understand us so the waitress came to ask again what kind of wine she suppose to bring us. After 5 min she came back again for 3th time to ask what wine do we want. Once we ordered the starters to share they were bringing each item one by one as we were 7 people we were starving by the time they brought a second starter to share .Then another long wait until we get 3 th round with starters for sharing. We are expecting all drinks to be served at the table together and all starters and main courses to share with all sides are supposed to come along together. Especially when we are a lot of people . It happened the same with our main courses. The first thing on the table arrived was patattas braves as a side and no main course yet. We waited at least 10 minutes after that to get the first main course! Horrible service!!! Literally there is nowhere around that I know where someone is going to bring my side dish first and as a second the main course, after long wait !!!! And again the restaurant had just few tables at the time. Not so busy. My table was set for 5 but I had 2 more guests came along later on and the waitress was telling me that she is not happy to add another pair of cutlery on our table as there is not enough space . She was rude and again I was so upset as it was my birthday and they didn't even offer any dessert for me. I had a conversation with the executive chef Charlie couple days ago and he promised me that they will look after me. Unfortunately this didn't happen. My guest were not happy, a bit upset, thirsty, hungry and no desserts at all !! All them were in a rush to close down the restaurant at 21: 00 pm so therefore they didn't even offer anything for desert or imagine me having my birthday party there. Not to mention that nobody even asked how was everything or do we like the food. Or if we need anything at all !! We were chasing them all night instead of enjoying our conversations. And then we got kicked out with a service charge above 100£ which we did not agree of course. We asked them to take this off the bill because we we're not happy with the service and also we were overcharged for some item that was ordered but they didn't deliver at all. And instead they promised us to give us an extra side of patattas bravas and we never got it either. In generally the kitchen can push for customers but front of the house is destroying the whole main picture!! They should be very polite, welcoming, not rude with knowledge about the alcohol, drinks and the food. They didn't know the wine lists , either the allergies as we specified no selfish from first place!!!!!!

Basque cuisine is renowned for its elaborate presentation of dishes. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth trying at least once. The dishes are truly delicious.

I came here to eat with friends for a birthday dinner. We came as a group of five. We ordered about six starters and five main courses with a few side orders. The starters were ok. The octopus croquettes was lovely and everybody enjoyed them . The jambon croquettes were nice. The manchego coquettes were ok. All three had a similar texture and taste. I could barely tell the difference between the three. The pan con tomato was standard. The sardines were lovely and had a great taste and texture. The anchovies were good but minimal on the plate.. We had an issue with the service of the drinks. It took anything from between 10-20 mins to get a drink. We had to remind the staff about our drinks on more than one occasion. The food came out when ready which was ok for the starters but not for the mains. A disjointed service I felt. The prawn risotto was on point. The pork and romesco sauce tasted lovely, portion was a tad small. The pork chimichurri was good, not enough sauce though. The cod risotto was too salty and the octopus was average, slightly too charred for my liking. The courgette flower had way too much honey. The potato bravas were average. Overall a cosy place with nice staff, but my experience wasn’t perfect. I would still recommend to others. Drinks are pricey, so I would recommend not to order any if you want to cut down the cost.

We had a fabulous dinner with our friends here. The basque cheesecake is to die for. The portions are on the smaller side. We sat at the bar and it wasn’t very comfortable and difficult to talk

Tasty Spanish tapas, loved the gernika peppers, tuna tatare, cod and pork shoulders. The basque cheesecake is the only dessert and is a must try. A bit on the pricier side but thought was worth the experience.

Without a doubt it is one of my favorite Spanish in the city. Dinner for four in which we were all delighted. The dishes are tapas so you have to take this into account when ordering. In our case we ordered almost the entire menu and some special ones. You can't miss the cheesecake, quite a spectacle. Wonderful staff and atmosphere.

The food is delicious, there’s no doubt about it! The ambiance is nice, loud and cosy - just as you’d find in the streets of San Sebastián. The prawn rice was probably the best dish of the night, along with the croquetas! The Iberico pork was perfectly cooked, just thought that for the price, we were expecting a few more pieces. I do think it’s very authentic Spanish food, and the cheesecake is delicious - but it is slightly overpriced for the portion you get.

Great place to eat Spanish Tapas

We have arrived on time to our reservation with our 6 year old children. We ordered and wait 45 minutes for our food. The server realised there was a problem with our order in the system. We then wait 15 minutes more and not a single food (appetizers or bread) were brought to our table. We had to leave after 1 hour. They said they are sorry, they did not know system was not working properly. The servers and the manager has no ability to the initiative. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I've been Sansebastian before, I felt exactly same wind! Totally we enjoyed a lot in your restaurant! All foods were perfect, especially PULPO(octopus grill), Iberico stake, basque cheesecake were soooo delicious. Thanks a lot!

The food tasted good, all dishes had great flavor, they were all colorful and creative. We ordered three main dishes (one fish, two meat) and some vegetables, including a salad. The salad (HOSTO ENTSALADA) was amazing with some fruits and nuts. It had a lot of flavor with a great sauce. However some of the salad leaves were quite big, so it was a bit awkward to eat. The cod fish (ARROZA) was absolutely brilliant . The fish it self was quite small, but was cooked perfectly. It came with some black rice, which tasted fantastic as well. For meat, we ordered the PLUMA and SOLOMILLO, which were again both excellent cooked with great sauces. The one was the Romesco sauce and the other was with chestnut. The vegetables were fine, nothing too special. For example the PATATAK was just with some potatoes and a little bit of spicy sauce. But the vegetables were necessary since the portions of the main dishes are quite small, so you end up ordering 5-7 dishes with 4 people. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good. Good lighting with some music. However the kitchen was an open type, so it was also a bit noisy. There was also a counter in front of the kitchen, so if you are with friends, the bar counter will be the best seat for you. They were also enough tables for families. We went there at 9.15pm and it was still full, so it is necessary to have a reservation. The staffs were all great. They were all smiling and had good experience. The prices were ok, not too expensive but also not too cheap, so I would consider it as normal, so I gave 3 points. The menu was good, 4 choices for fish, 4 choices for meat. They were not a lot of vegetarian meals (especially for the main). Overall, a great restaurant with excellent food quality, perfect to come with friends or family!

A disappointing, overpriced taste of the Basque. Only one dish, the Squid main, was tasty, though the portion was small for a main. The rest of the food was unmemorable. I was hoping that the famous Basque cheesecake would save the meal, but it left me disenchanted. The staff are lovely, but obviously inedible, so do not offer a reason to return.

Early reservation and the meal was top notch. We shared starters and mains and had to indulge in the cheesecake. No disappointments here! Personable staff too. We will be back!

Great option for Spanish food in London.

One of my favourite restaurants in London! Amazing Basque tapas, everything on the menu is delicious, never disappoints. Don’t skip the cheesecake!!

great atmosphere. nice dishes. nothing exciting. the staff is lovely, welcoming and sweet. we enjoyed our time there. the paellas are ok and I’d actually skip both of them. the meat was great and well seasoned, but thats the specialty of Lurra, so whats the point of going to Donostia? I had a great time, but won’t go again. the only dish that we loved, was the Tortilla. Also, had eggshell pieces in the cheesecake.. and it was too sweet.

After I booked the restaurant, the system did not send any confirmation email, causing me to miss my meal. The restaurant and the reservation company pushed each other's responsibilities and were unwilling to provide solutions. The service attitude was extremely poor and they kept repeating the same content.

Just wanted to write this review to say thank you to all staff at Donostia for the lovely evening that my wife and I had, and for honestly making it a great experience overall. We ordered a few dishes from the specials, and some from the main menu. The one that was absolutely impeccable was the langoustine arrozo!! OMG - we could have had two plates each of this. It was unreal. The Cheesecake is what prompted us to book, and it very much lived up to expectation. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked and we were told we couldn't order more to take home... but we will be back for sure!! :) The waitress that explained the menus to us was very friendly and did a great job, but we were also served by another gentleman who unfortunately I didn't catch the name of. He was on top, always smiling, and happy to give advice on the wine too. We had a great evening! I highly recommend visiting. Make sure you book, and just enjoy the atmospehere and time you're there. You're not rushed, the food will arrive when it is ready, just... take the time, and enjoy!! 5/5

Had a dinner in Lurra and they recommended their sister restaurant so I couldn't miss it. Went there and that was the best tapas I've ever had also the lamb and the rice where outstanding 😋😋 Love them both and recommend to everyone

Excelent service and the freshest and well cooked food in the city

The waitress slipped herself over me with a tray of wine glasses with leftover wine liquid inside poured to my back and broken glasses fell all over the place. None of the staff showed any initiatives to help me, I had to ask for wipes myself to clean my clothes. At the end, they didn't provide anything to compensate, on the contrary, kept the service charge on the bill. Ridiculous.

Wow. Only basque restaurant I’ve been to in london and tasted pretty legit. Gildas and basque cheesecake was just spot on. The wagyu with foie gras was also v yum. Tortilla was also super yum. I would not order turbot - it was not the only fish and two tiny bits. 4 stars because portion sizes too small and expensive for what it is.

The portions are tiny, but they don't give you advice on how many to order. I don't think the menu was varied or diverse enough to have allowed us to order more dishes to feel full. Rather, I think they expect you to order multiple of the same thing to eat your fill. The ambiance and service felt just slightly better than a Pret. We indicated on the reservation that it was a birthday but they did not do anything special for us. The food itself is good, but I could have achieved the same quality at home, at a much better cost.

I had an absolutely stunning meal. Not.a place I would normally thinking going, but was recommended. The staff were warm and welcoming. I had the croquettes, lobster rice and a tomato salad. The food was hot and tasty. The lobster rice was stunning. The wine was chilled and my hubby had the cheesecake, which I knew was tasty by the sounds he was making...lol. Will definitely return

Great food and service but overpriced. The service was good and friendly. The portions for the tapas are reasonable but on the small side given the pricing. The food was very well prepared and tasty - except for the turrón dessert which looked and tasted like straight out of a box from a supermarket.

Trato excepcional. Calidad en la comida aunque no es totalmente fiel a la comida española. En concreto, en la tortilla de patata. Muy buen servicio, aunque nos han servido vino y cava sin indicarnos el precio de las bebidas y ha encarecido mucho la comida.

My family live in gijon in the north of Spain, I took them here because I know it wouldn’t disappoint and I have to say the food the chef creates and serves is so authentic and even more tasty. patatas brava sauce, sauce exceptional, potatoes too hard need to be more creamy and fluffy inside potatoes.Jamon Iberico personally prefere it cut in front of people on the bar by hand 8.5/10. The staff was friendly although the only thing I can say is that it was a bit cold at the table where we were but the staff moved us to another table. We really enjoyed the food because it was spectacular

Good foods. The cep and truffle croquettes were good, and the basque cake was so delicious. They have some wines that are not very popular but from Basque area.

Food is good but very overpriced and the portions are tiny. The basque cheesecake is amazing!! Service is good. Overall pleasant experience but not worth the price.

Very nice food in a central location. I enjoyed all my choices, including the tasty croquetas de jamón, the tender steak and the creamy basque cheesecake, which was the absolute peak of that dinner.

If you describe your pintxoak as Basque inspired tapas, you are not a Basque restaurant, as simple as that

Incredible place! I almost don’t want to give it such a good review so people don’t discover it so I can still get a table when I want. Ignore the unsatisfied American below this review. Sorry folks in Europe we don’t like huge portions! There’s a KFC or Lebanese on Edgeware road if you want a BIG meal.

The service, quality of the food, and quantity of food is absolutely embarrassing for the prices that you pay. None of the food was anything special or particularly delicious. All tasted like dishes you could get for very cheap in America, and I found the tomato salad very salty. We ordered 6 tapas in total to find that they were all composed of simple parts and tiny portions. You pay for the presentation and the fancy names on the menu. The other reviews mention outstanding service -- we did not experience that at all. We had to interrupt a waitress to get seated after waiting for 5 minutes, even though the entrance is in a busy pathway for waiters and the restaurant was clearly half-empty. Our table was ignored even during an evening where the restaurant clearly was not busy. They forgot to take our order for the longest time. They did not check in on how the food was, which I usually wouldn't deduct points for, but at this price point and with the quality of the food they were serving, you have to wonder what exactly you're paying for. The person taking our bill was visibly annoyed at things like us wanting to keep the receipt. This did not feel like a fine dining experience, unless you consider a fine dining experience to be paying ridiculous prices to be sneered at and ignored in favor of European patrons. If your tasting palette prefers less flavorful dishes, this is the place for you as well.

If you’re going to call yourself Donostia, then you’re giving yourself a lot to live up to. This does. The food and service were exceptional. Apparently they have a new chef who started just a few days ago, which ordinarily could cause some issues but everything was excellent. The service sat at the bar was excellent and really friendly and helpful. We don’t live anywhere nearby, but we’ll definitely be back.

Stumbled across the little hidden gem while my daughter was at an event. I wondered around and came across this amazing gem. I was greeted by Alex, who kindly offered me a seat at the bar or outside as was busy. Opted for the bar where Bartek kindly offered me to try some wines, very knowledgeable, and I tried the rose, then a white wine. The care and passion from him was evident and shown through. I had the crab and caviar followed by the octpus Both are full of flavour and fresh. I had to collect my daughter, and on our return, she tried the croquet smoky and full of flavour..then she had the octpus.then the brunt cheesecake, sweet and tasty.. Thanks to Bartek and Alex, not only world-class food but staff, you should be proud of I am looking forward to a return visit

The sourdough was so-so; olive oil didn’t have many layers of taste. The seafood croquetas was quite good; it had balance between the sauce on too and the croquetas itself. Beef was okay. The service was excellent. We went there on last Saturday and the waiter was very kind and always had a smile on his face. The atmosphere was okay… the floor downstairs was very slippery; that’s a hit dangerous. Even the staffs needed to walk slowly so that they don’t slip.

We were there for a birthday dinner and everyone went above and beyond to make everyone and especially the birthday boy feel extra special. We took staff’s recommendation as to what to order and we end up having a delicious dinner with variety of tapas and mains and everything was delicious. Wine was great, recommended by Ina who was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and looked after us the whole evening. Overall, amazing staff and fantastic food.

Having dined across various countries – from Japan, China, the USA, to several European nations – I can confidently say that this restaurant offered the poorest customer service I've ever encountered. Here are some specifics: [Neglect]: Our waiter consistently avoided our table. Despite trying to get his attention multiple times, we were left with no choice but to summon a different waiter. [Miscommunication]: We were told each plate of crab and caviar pintxos had two Plates with four pintxos. We ordered accordingly but received one plate with three pieces instead. The man tried to interrupt us many times and said, 'Do you understand?' several times grumpily. [Unnecessary Delays]: After requesting three coffees, we waited for 30 minutes. This delay disrupted our dessert experience, as we hoped to enjoy the coffee with our cheesecake. [Discrimination]: The stark difference in how our table was treated compared to others was evident. While other tables received attentive service and warm smiles, we were consistently ignored. [Food Review]: While the majority of our dishes were satisfactory, the beef was notably subpar. Unfortunately, the appalling service overshadowed any positive aspects of our meal. It's essential to point out that, as Asians, we've faced our share of challenges in this country. We've learned to tolerate minor inconveniences. However, this experience bordered on what felt like racial discrimination. While I hesitate to use such a strong term, the service was so egregiously wrong that it's hard not to view it as such. [Recommendation]: Given our experience, I cannot recommend this establishment.

We were a party of 5 and seated in the rear of the restaurant on a table with a great deal of privacy. Great start to a wonderful evening as the food, wine and service exceeded our expectations. First visit but will certainly return.
