Delicious dinner tonight, my daughter and I both had lasagna con salami e zucchini, super fresh and a really good taste. It was so much that we can enjoy it again tomorrow, highly recommended!!

Lovely restaurant with excellent pasta! The menu is vast so there is definitely something for everyone! The pricing is very reasonable too and portion sizes are very good! Overall, great restaurant!

I have just found out this restaurant closed on 29th September forever. I have been there many times,celebrations for birthdays,family gatherings to name a few. This place will be sadly missed. Wonderful food, great staff nothing too much trouble. Will miss it terribly.

We visited on a week night and were very impressed by the cuisine here. The atmosphere was casual and friendly and the food was good quality Italian (authentic tasty dishes). There was also a varied menu and plenty to choose from. We will definitely return.

Visited this place on our first night staying in the city - a very good choice - lovely staff, good tables and décor and excellent food. We shared a warm salad to start, then my husband chose a simply tomato pasta, while I had a Specials Board dish - swordfish in a tomato, caper and olive sauce with rocket - both were wonderful - and served hot on hot plates - this is not always the case in restaurants!! Prices are reasonable and we will definitely return at some point.

We've been here twice in the past three weeks. Each time we were met with great hospitality and lovely food. The cocktails are great fun, and the Bellini is quite magnificent.We have the proceeded to choose a choice of small courses - calamari, tomato salad, pasta with prawns. All have been beautifully served and beautifully cooked.We live in Knighton and Don Leone is now on our list of regular restaurants to visit. It's a really good local restaurant. Enjoy,

I ordered the veal, which was described as being wrapped with crispy pancetta and on a bed of new potatoes.Firstly the veal was tough, undercooked and and had a piece of soggy pancetta placed on top. it was impossible to cook the new potatoes in the time from placing the order and the food being delivered. the potatoes must have been cooked earlier in the day and reheated. It was served with six green beans (hardly worth it).My friend ordered a steak medium well to well done, it came rare.Overall not a good experience.Will we return or recommend?................NOA further problem in that although the bathrooms were clean there was a serious smell of damp.

We ate here on a Friday night (quite late because we booked late in the day, and it was very full). The welcome was warm and friendly, the food was full of flavours, interesting and quantities just right. The menu offered a good range of choices, but we chose to share a bruschetta, followed by the the special Chicken Talleggio and affogato, all beautifully presented and all delicious . Couldn't fault it on anything. Would certainly go back if I am ever again in Leicester. Its TripAdvisor ranking certainly does not do it justice.

Myself and 3 friends visited the restaurant for the first time. We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and very attentive and were able to answer our questions regarding the dishes without a problem. The food delicious. You could taste the freshness in the dishes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you like Italian food and I am sure we will be back again soon.

Wow! Having been impressed with the food previously, we reserved the upstairs room for a birthday party for 18 people and it was amazing! Ellie, not only organised the three course menu, she physically put up the decorations I had organised (and there were lots!) Every little detail had been attended to and on the night, Dana looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. She ran up and down those stairs all night servicing our guests.I can't begin to say how fab the evening was and how wonderful the staff were. Our set menu was lovely and we will certainly be going back again and again!

I went for Sunday lunch with another family. We had a range of dishes all of which were excellent. The staff were charming and helpful too. All in all a top place to eat.

We visited this restaurant prior to a concert at the De Montford Hall. Despite being the first to arrive, the place soon filled up. There was good choice on the reasonably priced menu and the service was professional. All the food ordered was well prepared, presented and tasted authentic. This is one that we will definately return to in the future.

I visited Don Leone last week and the staff were generally very friendly and the relaxed yet classy atmosphere was great. We called in advance to enquire about vegan options however when I saw the menu the vegan options were very limited. Although a couple of dishes could be adapted for vegans, they were very basic options, such as tomato pasta. I ended up having a warm salad and bruschetta. The meal was delicious, however very expensive considering it was such a simple choice. It would’ve been amazing if they had more exciting vegan main dishes and even better if they had a vegan dessert list!

We came here with friends and we ordered a starter which was around £6.50 and we got 4 tiny balls of mozzarella in tomato based sauce. Now don't get me wrong because it tasted awesome! but the quantity compared to what our friend had (calamari) was way too less for the price. So we did ask for some complimentary bread as we already paid that much and didn't want to pay an extra £5 for bread. He was lovely and gave us some however that starter should come with some as there is way too much sauce and nothing to dip into it. Then the main dish was plentiful and tasty. The dishes are nice but just feel it is too expensive for what you get (starter i mean). I would still go again but maybe for a special occasion and not a cheap weekday eat.

Don Leone although not a chain is close to making its food a bit like one. I've always loved their Italian menu but recently it has started offering full English breakfasts which I don't really understand. When I heard it did breakfast I was hoping for more continental or Italian breakfasts not something that I could get across the road at any of the other English places. I went for dinner and as always the food was very tasty. I thought my calzone could have had a bit more filling. My calamari starter lacked sauce so most were eaten dry. Still an enjoyable meal in a lovely restaurant. Will be going again plenty of times.

So went here after a few years. I give all restaurants 3 goes as most of them find out. Having moved to this location, I felt that the authencity had gone. Booked a table for 20:00, went to Dos Hermanos next door fora few drinks. Came back, ordered the flat breads (pic attached) which was great.

We live in the North of England, but visit Leicester to see our son. We've been to Don Leone twice, and been really happy both times. We won't be looking for anywhere else to eat when we come down again.

we just came back from our honeymoon in italy and were craving italian food, so my husband booked this as a surprise meal on a friday night. it got pretty busy but we got there for 6pm so we got a lovely table and the special 3 course menu for £18 which is well worth it! the service was amazing, staff very helpful and kind. the salmon risotto for starter and meatballs and ciabatta were huge on portion sizes. the mains i got seabass and he got chicken milanese which were lovely and hot and so tasty. dessert was tiramisu and it was the first time ive had that out of italy where it tastes authentic and soft. hats off to the chef! great ambience also:) such a great date and evening meal place :)

Attended 3/06/17 with my family.We wer going to See the Kevin & Karen dancing at Demont Hall and wanted a Italian Rest nearby. A lot of Restaurants didn't open until 5.30pm which is pushing it.This was open all day open for breakfasts then all day.We had a great meal and is only a 10 min walk to Demontfort Hall.Staff were very friendly and menu had lots of choice.

Had a great Sunday breakfast here. Arrived about 11am and we were the only customers! The service, as expected, was very good and the food was amazing for the price. We went for the large cooked breakfast and it really was great value and tasted really good - we were allowed to swap items too like mushrooms and sausages so got exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend this restaurant for a lovely quiet Sunday brunch!

Leicester is hardly short of eating establishments so we were expecting to eat well but this restaurants was outstanding. I loved the friendliness of the staff and the trouble they took to ensure that we were comfortably seated. The food was equally rewarding and I ate slowly in order not to spoil my enjoyment by finishing too soon. We left feeling happy, satisfied and determined to visit again. A very rewarding experience.

My wife took me for a meal for my birthday. I'm always worried about going to a new Italian restaurant as we have some very nice ones in and around Leicester.we weren't disappointed . The food was delicious and served very quickly so it was good an hot.The portion sizes were big and i almost said no to dessert...almost.the restaurant was large enough that it didn't feel crowded and the table were angled so that you weren't overlooked.i'm looking forward to my next visit, my turn to pay.

We stumbled across this place on a Saturday night at about 8:30 and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was really nice and went well with the decor. The waitresses were all very friendly, polite, and happy to seat us. The food was really yummy, came out rather quickly (maybe slightly too quickly) and was all very reasonable priced, £55 for two, 2 courses each, bread and olives, and drinks. All in all a very lovely meal and evening. Would definitely recommend to others, and would go back myself.

We went to this place few times. I will probably give 4*, however we visited this place for breakfast. I ordered eggs and asked for well done. I didn't get well done not even medium so I left it on the table. When this happened 3rd time I was watching waiter if is she taking any notes and she did. So clearly chef doesn't care or can't make well done eggs. I complained about eggs as it wasn't first time and I am just wondering if chef doesn't read or even can't read how do I have to trust him not to get something I am allergic to on my plate next time?

Las pizzas están bastante buenas, y el pollo también, comimos 4 y el precio fue al rededor de unos 65€ más o menos el total.La calidad era buena y el servicio también. No había mucha gente en el local, muy cerca de la universidad.

If there was just a 'good' category that would be about right. Second visit, this time on a Monday night. On ordering we were told no scallops and no crab cakes...hardly the end of the world but not the best start. So fish cakes and anti pasto starters were very good. Pizzas and ravioli for main course were good but not outstanding and perhaps lacked a bit of attention. Service was fine and the place was fairly busy. Middling.

Visited on a Sunday for brunch and didn't have to book in advance. Would recommend the eggs Benedict florentine.

Came to celebrate a family birthday and had a very good meal with a nice atmosphere, good bar, friendly service and excellent food for everyone including my vegetarian daughter. Good menu with well-priced dishes. We will be back soon.

First time at this restaurant. The waiter was very helpful, the breakfast generous and delicious. Had the double traditional breakfast. Would definitely come here again and try the Italian food.

Took my partner to Don Leone on a Monday evening after booking online with ease through their website. Both waiter & waitress that served were a delight and they came baring 2 of the best pasta dishes we have tasted (mine being the Penne Verde). Generous is the most fitting way to describe the portions in which this delicious food was served. Such a delight was our experience that the 2 hours spent seemed ephemeral, highly recommend. Please excuse the photo, we'd already half tucked in to our dishes.

Came here earlier in the year and was really impressed. Told friends about it and decided to go for my birthday. 8 of us went and everyone of us was impressed. Not an easy thing to achieve with 8 people. Service was exceptional. (She served me to much drink so I can't remember her name. Sorry). Food portions were decent, (not to big) quality was superb. The wine (white Rioja) was amazing, why more places don't stock this is a mystery.

14 of us ate here last Thursday for a work's Christmas do and we were all delighted with the food and the service. We chose to eat from the party menu, which was fantastic value and one member of our party said it was the best steak he'd eaten in a long time, cooked to perfection. From my initial booking through to paying and leaving the restaurant everything was spot on! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the Manger, Elle, went out of her way to assist one of our party with a customised vegan menu. Most impressed and we will definitely be back!

Got to say ended up here on recommendation. Didn't think we would get in the place was packed. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table but the friendly manager Elle welcomed us with a complimentary drink on the house for waiting. I must say the menu is so big there is something available for everyone! My friend is a celiac and that even went out their way for her. Very good value for money nice atmosphere and amazing food. The only thing that let the place down was the waiter Sam that seemed to very arrogant to us all night but the rest of the team certainly made up for it. This is definitely my favourite Italian in Leicester now. Beats San Carlo and oggi any day

We love it here! It's delicious, reasonably priced and the staff are always friendly. I'm a vegan so there is always a good choice for me and it's really delicious. You never have to wait long either for a course. The menu has recently been updated so I was worried but I needn't have worried as there are some lovely additions. My only wish is that they one day offer a lemon sorbet and then it'll be perfect xx

A friend and I visited with our two babies (in pushchairs) on a weekday for lunch. Compared to other places on Queens Road there was plenty of room for us all + a highchair. The food was very tasty, arrived quickly and was reasonably priced (£16 for both of us including drinks). Only improvement would be to have baby changing facilities.

Had a wonderful meal here with two girlfriends. From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome.My pizza was delicious and absolutely huge! I could barely finish it. My friends also enjoyed the pasta and salad that they ordered too.Finished the meal with icecream with amaretti biscuits and a shot of amaretto on the top. Loved it!!Will definitely be back for the friendly service and good food (which is reasonably priced for the quality and quantity).

A lovely meal for the whole family. Quite a quiet nightime. Staff were friendly and polite. Not your usual pub grub. Made a lovely change to treat ourselves.

Met up with a group of former colleagues on a Tuesday evening . I'd booked in advance and our table for 6 was prepared. It was a fairly quiet evening with only a handful of other diners. The decor was nice and the loos clean and in order. The 2 staff serving were friendly and polite. The food took quite a while to come - probably longer than i would expect in any restaurant. Whilst it was well presented and tasted good, i didn't rate it as exceptional and it was slighty over priced in my opinion. However, it wouldn't necessarily put me off from visiting again rather than judge an establishment on a single, weekday visit.

Three of us had an early evening meal at Don Leone's last night. We hadn't booked - but the staff were lovely and accomodating and found us a table. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, welcoming and comfortable, the staff are attentive and pleasant, and the food is excellent, - - good standard Italian style from a pleasant menu - and even the simple dishes such as bread with 3 dips (garlic butter, black olives, pesto rosso) are good. We are only Leicester once or twice a year - - but will make a point of eating at Don Leone's!

Due to another restaurant's error my family and I were left without a Saturday night booking and wandered into Don Leone because it looked very nice if busy !The waitress apologised and said they were really busy and had no spare tables. I explained that we we were only in Leicester for one night and that another restaurant had messed up our booking and was there a possibility of something later . She was very helpful and managed to slot us in for a couple of hours later.We went for a drink whilst we were waiting and on our walk back, received a call to let us know they were a bit out on timings and could we possibly come 10/15mins later.When we arrived we were given free olives and bread (which were delicious) because we had been "messed around" which was a nice gesture.The service was brilliant and the staff lovely.Our pasta was cooked perfectly, as were our vegetables.My daughters had huge calzones which were tasty.The menu was varied.There was a good selection of wine.There was a lovely atmosphere and even though it was busy we never had to wait long between courses.Hopefully, we will return to Leicester one day and eat there again.I really would like to thank the staff as they turned our evening around completely and their efforts were very much appreciated,

Been here twice over the last 2 months and loved the food both times. The pizzas are very tasty with nice things bases and plenty of toppings. Highly recommend the garlic bread with cheese too! I tried one of the chicken specials which was in a mushroom, cream and garlic sauce....so tasty. The service is great and all staff are friendly.

Enjoyable dinner at a very pleasant restaurant. My first time at this busy little place. Nice food reasonable price and excellent wine. Got quite full by 8pm on a Friday night so would recommend making a reservation.

MY OH MY! What a wonderful Restaurant! A family booking of 18 people! One of the first things I did was to hug Elle, the Manager, to say THANK YOU when I walked in! My first thanks go out to Elle, the new manager. Let me tell you this, as soon as I spoke with her over the phone, I knew I was in good hands! Such a wonderful lady and helped me so much with organising my Husbands 40th Birthday! More than she knows! Elle listened to everything that i requested, regularly kept me informed of menu's etc, helped with food choices and nothing was too much trouble. Nothing was too much for her! Emails instantly answered and generally and beautiful Lady! Sh'es a great Manager for a restaurant. Secondly - The service was fantastic and the food was AMAZING! Plentiful and delicious! There were no complaints about the food and for a group booking of 18, that is unusual! There may have been 1 hiccup but that was down to too much wine!!! I take my hat off to the Chef and commend him and the kitchen staff and also the waiting staff for making our evening a most memorable one. I can't recommend Don Leone's enough! Thank you for making this evening so great, and Elle, you really are such a wonderful Manager and your colleagues are lovely. I've been to Don Leone's before and will definitely be coming again! x x x

I have been to Don Leone's three times now and every time has been perfect. I first went for my 21st birthday over a year ago, then when my sister visited me at uni and then yesterday for my graduation. There were 9 of us, so a reasonably large party but this did not affect the speed and accuracy of all our meals. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meals and even squeezed in dessert despite being rediculously full! I had the chicken dish off the specials and asked for the asparagus to be replaced with something else, they replaced it with roasted red pepper and the dish wash delicious! All in all beautiful meals, excellent service and a very reasonable price.I will be visiting again next time I'm in Leicester.

Have visited a couple of times and the sister restaurant in Oadby and the standard of food is very, very good. Pizza on one occasion and pasta on another and both excellent. Staff friendly and the bill very acceptable!

Called in on a dismal evening , but Don Leone's soon cheered us up.Bright decor, clean ambience and attentive service were the first plus points.Really good sharing starter (for 3) and tremendously tasty mains. Plenty on the plate, with the food : we chose 3 different mains... seafood linguine, meat balls and aubergine. All well cooked and great to eat.Puddings and coffee delightful tooAt just under £25/head - once drinks included too - we thought this was great value.Sometimes it's important to go into detail about the dining experience. Here it was simple. Good food, well cooked, presented promptly and positively in a pleasant environment.We went back out into the rain feeling much better both spiritually and digestively!

We live locally so have visited Don Leone on a number of occasions and find ourselves returning more and more. Both lunch and dinner menus are amazing. There are lots of choices. The portions are always so generous so have never had room for dessert! The staff are lovely and friendly which adds to the experience and makes us come back for more. Would recommend for any occasion, from a lazy weekend brunch to a birthday evening meal celebration.

I've reviewed this place before as I had the worst English breakfast I've ever had, but my partner and I decided that it was unfair to dismiss an Italian restaurant on the basis of its English breakfasts, so we gave it another try today for lunch.Its lunch offerings are definitely an improvement on the breakfast - I had pasta arrabiata with Tuscan sausage, and my partner had a diavolo pizza. They were OK, but I'd definitely rate it as canteen-style quality rather than something with the wow factor. Given that both dishes were supposed to be spicy, they were actually fairly bland, and I was surprised that I wasn't offered grated parmesan with the pasta. I don't expect fresh pasta with a tomato based dish, but the penne did have the texture of fairly basic supermarket pasta, and not the high-quality dried pasta I'd expect from an Italian restaurant. I wouldn't dismiss coming back out of hand if friends were having an evening out here, but there are far better Italian restaurants in Leicester.

We came to Don Leone for a birthday and it was nice food. The restaurant is well decorated. Serves all the classic pasta and pizza.The price was what you would expect, not too cheap ot expensive.Located on Queens Road it is quite easy to find parking.

Went at 6pm on Monday with 4 others prior to seeing the celebrations on Victoria Park and wanted to be out in one hour so only wanted 1 course. Only 8-9 customers there. Asked for a well done ie. crispy pizza, only the crust had any crispiness, couldn't lift the pieces off the plate it was so soggy. One member of the party only received the bowl of chips with her order, the salad came after we had finished our meals and she was rushed to eat it in time to see the victorious Leicester City members.Won't go back, the other food was OK.

It was my first visit, and as I was in the area I thought I would check it out, first impressions is that it's very classy and clean. A great start. I was dining on my own, as my girlfriend was at work on this afternoon! She'd have loved it. I skipped starter and had a chicken dish, the chicken portion was enormous, and the chips were cooked to perfection. The food was very tasty and the menu appears to have a very varied selection. Judging by other people's food every dish I saw looked excellent, I can only guess it tasted as good. Overall, well worth a visit. Will go again for sure.

Went there on the Saturday after the match..... we were a little late due to the match and celebrations, but they where ok with is.The staff where very friendly and accommodating.The food was very tasty and hot...... I feel some of the presentation of the food didn't do it justice though..... but very nice.Well worth a visit

The restaurant is very well designed. It's cosy and contemporary. The service was friendly, very quick and efficient. The food was incredible. The prices are great for the portions you get and everything was cooked to perfection. Hands down the best arancini starter I've ever had. There's a great choice of vegetarian options too, and offering gluten free pasta means that there's something for all dietary requirements. The wine list is great, and there are plenty of spirits and soft drinks to choose from too. Overall a wonderful experience. Will certainly recommend, and we'll definitely be back ourselves!

Visited here for the first time for my mums birthday with 9 family members. The dining area is small but very cosy with a nice atmosphere. We were all very impressed with our food, including starters and desserts and I would personally recommend the pasta parcels stuffed with prawns and scallops, gorgeous. (The lady that served us asked the chef if I could have the recipe, which he kindly gave!)The two staff that served us were very friendly and professional. The lady sorted out the birthday cake and the gentleman took a family picture for us. Overall a really lovely night, will be visiting again very soon.

We had a wonderful Italian meal, pizza, pasta, lasagne, risotto - all delicious. Service was very friendly and suprisingly fast given that the restaurant was jam packed full. They obviously struggled a little in the kitche as our starters were served twice, oops. The only problem we had with the restaurant was the noise level - there were two large birthday groups and we were meeting up with friends we hadnt seen for a very long time, so had a lot of catching up to do, it was really difficult hearing each other due to the noise level. Definitely not a place for a romantic tete-a-tete.

When I lived around the corner I used to go weekly. The food is very good and the prices reasonable. Unfortunately I live a bit out of the way now to make a regular trip, but we still keep this place in mind for a treat. Equally good a place for a date, a hungover brunch with housemates or a meal with friends. One of the few classy places in Leicester. Visit it, you won't regret it.

Great food, that's an understatement, the finest Italian cuisine, pasta so smooth & fresh, nice surroundings, good service with a smile.

Other than feeling a little cold when we first arrived sat next to the window the visit was very good. The food was excellent indeed, I had a King Prawn starter and Lasagne (yes boring for some but I like it) for my main with a side portion of meat balls and on my next visit that's what I will have again! my wife had mushroom risotto followed by mushroom tagliatelle which by all accounts was very good too. The service was ok but the youngsters just need to keep an eye on the ball at times rather than talking.

We went just before Christmas with another 2 family members. 2 of us had mushroom Risotto to start which was absolutely tasteless. I thought I'd give it a little seasoning of salt & pepper but that just made it taste of salt & pepper. The mains were 1 x sirloin steak which you could have used as a flip flop with the same effort in chewability I think with chunky chips, 1 x sea bass pasta a little like Ravioli which was so dry I only ate 1 of the 4 large pieces served with very little sauce. 1 small bottle of beer, 1 single spirit and coke from a pump. The front of house young staff were lovely, the surroundings smart cafe like and the bill £70!!! NEVER, NEVER again.

I attended the Oadby restaurant as part of a group for a friend's birthday meal in October. However, the service at this restaurant was so below the mark. Staff were incredible rude, this was particularly noticeable when bringing out drinks, starters and main meals, where their inexperience became obvious and their lack of professionalism led to meals being served with an extra helping of attitude. In addition to the awful experience with the staff, the manager was the worst of all. She was very rude to the customers and the birthday girl, she made a blunder of the bill, which meant that three extra meals and two starters were added on to the bill, which was settled to avoid any confrontation, despite protests that these were not ordered. She clearly did not want to be there, which she made obvious in her attitude and manner by which she spoke to us, mainly through yelling. At the end, a service charge was added, despite the lack of service. Food was terrible, I had ordered a starter of a salmon fishcake but was charged as a main meal. The atmosphere was ok, a nice interior but the service and food is so off putting I wouldn't recommend it at all.

What can I say…. I really want to like Don Leone but alas…. Over the past 3 years we’ve been in about 6-7 times and it’s a bit up and down. Last night was down. Obvious Christmas parties going on upstairs but not overly busy downstairs. Service was ok but us and the next table waited for drinks. If we can’t drink anything we are unlikely to buy more and spend more money. However the food is the cause for concern in this instance. We had one round of the crab bruschetta which had a real soggy bottom, not great. The garlic & mozzarella bread was good. For mains, two of us plumped for the ‘Monkfish in Pasta with Spicy Pink Sauce’. It was huge. 4 x not far from tennis ball sized tortellini filled with….I’m not sure what. The pasta was far too thick and chewy, not nice so I decided just to eat the filling. The filling had the texture of mashed potato and very easily could have been as it tasted little of fish. Oh yes the fish, if there was any monkfish inside that pasta, it had been annihilated to a pulp. How can you treat a great bit of fish in this manner (that’s what makes me wonder what was in it). Surely any chef has respect for the ingredients they are in charge of. These tennis balls where very bland and very dry. The sauce was ok but nowhere near enough of it so we asked for more. Now who puts raw chilli in a cooked sauce. WHYYY… The 3rd member of our party had chicken in a spicy pomodoro sauce with chunky chips. He said it was good. I agree that the chunky chips were good but it’s not good when the best you can say is the chips were good. We keep going back because I didn’t want to give up on the place, but we won’t be going again, sorry

Popped in for a quick pizza tonight on the way home from work and a couple of sneaky drinks on the way. Not busy and we got a table straight away. Our waitress was spot on. Both pizzas were very tasty (nice dough). Highly recommended.

As the Oadby restaurant is new and has not got its own site on here to give my review I am having to put it on the Queens road one.This place is set in a old pub, divided into two, the smaller one is Don Leone. It was my Birthday night out and wanted to try this place out.It is all new and very clean, the menu is has a full range of starters, mains with pizza's and pasta's along with Steaks. We started with a shared bread about the size of a pizza with sweet onions, me and my Daughter had Pasta and my wife had a Pizza. A good wine list at a fair price for a restaurant, all our food was of a high quality and very tasty. I would recommend this place to any body who likes Italian, service from the staff is very good, my only recommendation would be, dim the lights a bit and put candles on the tables just to make it that bit romantic.

Ate here whilst staying at College Court - about a 10 min walk down Queens road. Service was very fast and friendly. Good choice of pizza and pasta options. I had Arancini followed by a Pizza. Both were very nice - particularly liked the Arancini. Would use again if staying in the area.

The meal was lovely. Booked a table for a large group for my Dad's birthday and they made sure all the meals came out together and that we were well stocked up with nibbles. The only problem came with booking. I had to leave a lot of messages and was rang on the day because despite popping in and leaving messages they still hadn't written down what time we were coming! All in all I was a bit stressed about it before hand, but was lovely when we got there.

My wife and I had a meal before going to De Montfort Hall, 2 minutes away. We had gluten free penne with salmon and a cream sauce and a pizza diavolo. Both meals very tasty and better than most pizza restaurants. The waitress was lively, fun, friendly, efficient, helpful, a pleasure.......we'd gone to Queens Rd to go to Barceloneta but it didn't open till 6:30, was very happy that we found this place. Would go again if in the area. Was great value, 2 lovely meals, 2 drinks and 2 good coffees for 30 quid........great.

Don Leone offers a very nice variety of Italian food with an excellent wine list. With family or intimate ... your choice. Staff is discreet, pleasant and helpful. Medium priced.

Really good food, served with efficiency, for the large part. The beer arrived quickly, but the water was very slow. The quality of food was very good, not the best, IMHO, in Leicester, but still a good 'local'

Five of us went for a meal on a busy Friday night. The food, service and value for money are all really pretty good. This is all rather immaterial as the experience is made truly unbearable because the acoustics in the restaurant are dreadful. I couldn't talk with my friends because with other diners and the music all battling, you simply couldn't hear yourself speak or think and we're not a shy and retiring bunch. We all agreed we couldn't wait to leave-because it was truly overbearing. I think the owners should sincerely look to add some soft furnishings or something to absorb the noise-mimalist decor is fine, but all the hard surfaces in a busy restaurant just don't make the experience relaxing and you don't want to hang around and enjoy more drinks etc you literally want to eat and run. A real shame a small thing-but it makes all the difference.

we have visited this restaurant on many occasions and we are never disappointed at the quality of food nor the friendly and efficient service. It is I believe the quality of the team working here that is the secret of it's success. I do not know who actually owns the restaurant but in it's manager Charlie they have found a great asset. She leads by example and the quality of her training of younger members of staff is there for all to see. Her knowledge of the menu and wines available is extensive and it seems nothing is too much trouble where guests are concerned. SO if you are looking for good food with excellent service in a friendly atmosphere Don Leone is the place to visit.

Went looking for somewhere different in Odaby and stumbled across Don Leone. Great selection of food with something to cater for all tastes. The service was excellent, friendly staff, quick - considerate speed between courses. Overall it was good value. The restaurant itself has a relaxed atmosphere, with comfortable chairs and good space between tables. You can have a personal conversation without feeling that you will be overheard.

new restaurant opened in Oadby so gave it a try. service was lovely. food and wine excellent and very reasonable. we had a starter of garlic mushrooms topped with parmasan - delicious. lasagne and arabiatta also delicious. too full for sweet but calypso coffee went down well instead.. will be back.
