Sadly I didn't enjoy my order. Undercooked chips were not nice at all

Wow, first time ordering here and it was brilliant! Amazing value for money on what we ordered, EVERYTHING hot and fresh! Portions were huge as well, only TINY gripe was a missing coleslaw; but that’s minor in the grand scheme… Will 100% order again

Best pizza. 2 for 1. arrived boiling hot. loads of toppings.

chips were great, burger for my child was good however the steak and kidney pie had a very weird smell, tasted the filling and had a peculiar taste, so didn't eat it, not sure if it was off or what but wasn't very nice

ordered x-large mixed kebab it was more like a kids portion not enough to split between 2 adults large chips more like a small portion not very well cooked had no colour the smallest pot of salad i oredered it at 20.20 they said delivery between 21.00 - 21.20 it arrived at 20.30 10 mins to cook and deliver, absolute ridiculous, will not be ordering again

The sausages were lovely. Unfortunately the chips were veryunderdone so not quite what we were expecting

The only complaint I have is the chips needs to be cooked for longer, this is the second time I’ve ordered and some of the chips have been very undercooked but apart from that everything else was lovely

Usually very good but not this time . Salad was very limp and not up to the usual standard these guys normally supply . I paid for extra salad with lots of onion , no onion , pathetic portion and didn’t seem fresh . I will admit this is the only time I’ve ever had a bad experience from here so I hope they were just having a bad day .

Really not great food everything was undercooked I’m not sure weather this was because I ordered late in the week and someone couldn’t be bothered to cook the food properly or weather this is a regular thing this is the first and last time I will be ordering from here do not recommend

First and last time ordering from here. Baffled by all the great reviews tbh, I ordered because of them. The chips were undercooked & over half went in the bin. All sausages over cooked, inedible, not nice at all to eat, tough, chewy sausages and barely cooked chips. I’ve had many chip shops in the area and this is by far the worst I’ve tried. Nothing more disappointing when you spend £30 for a mid week treat to get food that is not as it should be. Please quality check your food?

I'm giving this shop a one-star review as at 8pm this evening we placed an order. 9.20pm our food still has not arrived, and every time we try to phone, the call is being 'cut'. Appalling service - actually, NO SERVICE!!!!!!

Peri peri Chicken & rice is lovely from here, never had an issue!

Had last minute guests come over. Glad I ordered from these guys! Everything was on point, the pizza, the mixed grill they even had peri peri chicken which was amazing and my new favorite. Definitely will order on a regular. Highly recommend this take away. Super pleased it was a hit and guests really enjoyed it.

Amazing food. We ordered a cheesy garlic bread pizza, kebab and fish & chips. One of the best and largest haddock and chips I’ve had in a long time! Reasonably priced and all cooked fresh. Definitely worth a visit!

I feel the previous reviews are unfair and perhaps from a competitor or just an angry group of people. The service was good, attentive and welcoming. I came with my family and ordered adult and children meals. All the food was freshly made, we was asked which type of bread we would like and donner kebab. The chicken, burgers and shawarma was all freshly made along with the bread. It was served nicely on a plate and metal cutlery - i've visited some other local places that serve the food in take away boxes. The food also came in a timely manner and tasted really nice along with their home made pickle.

Un cooked chips and dark black fish with bad smell, straight in the bin. What a waste of money and time. I always used this shop but today is first time since they are back in business. I will never recommend.

Diabolical experience, rude staff who were shouting at a customer as I was in there. Chips were brown from old oil and smelt. Fish batter was soggy. Ketchup was watered down. 1/10 would only eat here if it was the last place open in Southend. Wouldn’t waste your time with this one.

I’ve been a regular customer for past least 5 years at the Dolphins Fish & Chips and tried to place an order for chicken & lamb donors but the guy who was taking the order today was absolutely rude and abrupt and refused to put extra chilli sauce and tried charge extra for it. I asked his name and he refused to give his name. I asked to speak to the owner, Gorman, and he said Goran is no longer there and that he’s is the owner. The guy I was speaking has no manners to speak to a regular customer and very rude! I’ll never recommend the Dolphins Fish & Fish to mr worst enemy either!! Absolutely disgusted by their service 🙄🙄🙄

regular customers, we order the same meal every week from the store, the person who took the order, a man who was taking the order didn’t listen to the order correctly, we received the order and it was completely incorrect, we called back and the man taking the order completely denied we had the correct order and was extremely rude.

Best Sausage & Chips in the area that I've tried so far, chips are done just right and the prices are very competitive too.

I have bought chips here before which were great. I ordered plaice and chips through justeat. It came quickly but the batter was soggy and didn't seem like plaice. Even the cat refused to eat it 😢 The chips were also very pale Serves me right for ordering when I had a perfectly good meal planned!! I have a horrible taste in my mouth ....sorry 🙃

Ordered to take away, we live about 5 mins away but they still delivered very timely. Food was hot, fresh and very very tasty! Good service as well on the phone paid by card 👍 We got a fish and chip meal and mixed doner wrap meal for less than 15 quid and they didn't over do it with the chilli sauce on my wrap 😀 I would give another star if I could. Highly recommended 👌

I ordered a delivery from this place a little while ago, it took about 10 minutes longer than they said but it's not a problem. But, when it did turn up some of the order was missing so I telephoned them to inform them of this they said they will send the rest of the order straight away. I have worked on takeaway deliveries myself and if something is missing you get back to the address as quickly as possible with the rest of the order and apologise. After half an hour I telephoned them again. After putting our chips in the oven and the salad in the fridge they told me that the rest of my order had not even left the premises yet. I told him even though I paid for it, they could keep it. Then a driver turned up five minutes later with the rest of the stuff, which by this time, we didn't want. This is what they should've done in the first place! The bottom line was, they didn't want to bring it until another deliveries towards my address. Order from these at your peril. PS The salad had a bug and it's just for good measure.

Best chips in the area, cooked exactly the way they should be. The fish is fresh and even the sausages are lovely. Highly recommended. They are head and shoulders above the competition around here and their prices are realistic too. I can't fault them. They cook their chips properly, enough said.

Ordered a very simple takeaway order tonight, and nothing listed to state and complications. 45 mins past the stated delivery time with no customer notification, and to make matters worse the food was *Stone Cold*.. It will definitely take some decent future reviews to tempt any further orders.. Very disappointed to say the least.

defo will not be ordering from here again advertise fish and chips online but you just get fish and to be honest hygiene ratiny 3 out of 5 not good

So firstly I order they take payment and they call me back 10 mins to say they don’t cover our area for delivery I explained now the payment has been taken we would like it delivered as funds take 3-5 days to clear back in account so after a bit of an issue they agree to deliver which arrived over an hour later the wrong kebabs were delivered I then was told that I had ordered wrong when it was made perfectly clear ! After getting 3/4 of the way through my kebab my partner noticed that the chicken was still raw inside ! I am 9 months pregnant so shouldn’t be eating anything undercooked in the slightest I called them asking for my money back and cooked food which they wouldn’t send and put the phone down on me DO NOT EAT HERE

We ordered a mixed doner and it came with no salad and garlic sauce.. the bread was so greasy and came with curry sauce which was not ordered

I live the chicken burger and they put everything right. What else I like is that the Shop is that if you want chips there is usually some ready for you. If you're really lucky you sometimes get extras like more sauce I'm giving it 5 stars well done

Would have been 5 but last night I had my normal 2 large cod and chips, the chips were fine but the fish was hard with a nife and fork could not get through it. Never again

Food is a bit hit and miss sometimes..just had pie chips and a pickeled egg. And my daughter had a kabab. I gave them the benifit of dout. But my pie was rock hard, and the filling was dry. The chips were cold.and the pickaled egg was discusting. My daughter said her kabab was horid. And her chesseie chips were cold. Wouldnt mind but only live a few mins drive away. Last chance. Shame there food was always good. But this year something seem to have changed. Has anyone else had bad food as well
