Visited on Monday 9th October just before 2 oclock and were told we were to late for lunches but could have sanwiches etc. Got the impression that they didnt want us in there as they wanted to close. The food we had was fine but we felt very rushed to finish and leave, sorry but wont be coming back. Not a very welcoming experience.

Four of us had booked in for an afternoon tea. The table was beautifully laid, ready for us as we entered. The afternoon teas were served to us on individual cake stands. We chose our sandwiches from a bewildering array. The cake slices chosen from an in-house display and we could have either a fruit or plain scone. All the scones and cakes are baked by Brenda the owner. I chose the Cadbury cake. It was totally delicious, as were the sandwiches and scones. Definitely recommend this lovely tea room.

Stopped off during a long walk for a quick coffee and sandwich. We ordered a fish finger sandwich and a Brie, bacon and cranberry panini with coffee and sparkling water. The waitress was very welcoming and polite which is nice these days. The tea room is pleasant. When our order arrived we were surprised at the generous size portions, we did not expect large plates with accompanying salad, pot of coleslaw and crisps. I would visit again and recommend it 😃

I had cottage pie - meat seemed quite lumpy rather than minced and it took ages to come. The first waitress who took my order was very nice but when I asked how long my food would be, after waiting 25 minutes - I had a reply snapped at me by the blonde waitress and when the meal came it was banged down on the table. I'm quite elderly and all I wanted was a stress free lunch as I don't get out much. I was trying to give myself a treat, but went home more depressed than ever. Most people seemed to be having bacon and egg etc, or just toasties - so perhaps I had tested them too far that day.

Visited for coffee & cake. Cake gave us both upset stomach. Waitress very grumpy & uninviting, pretty much threw our cake forks on the table at us when serving. Will not be visiting again.

Me and my folks went here the other day and had a cooked breakfast and very nice it was too. My only gripe with the breakfast was the sausage. It was tough and rubbery. I don’t do tough and rubbery. Sausages could be replaced with another brand methinks. But apart from the sausage, the rest was nice and tasty.

A surprise 80th Birthday Afternoon tea for my Aunt for 8 people which we all agreed was fabulous and better than the Ritz ! The spread that Brenda and her team put on was nothing more than wonderful. A lovely selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls and nibbles. Plates of cakes and scones, clotted cream and jam with endless pots of tea and coffee. The table was decorated to celebrate my Aunts 80th with banners, balloons and Brenda also made a birthday cake and iced it. Brenda was a delighted to liaise with as I was not local so all done via phone and email and nothing was too much trouble. The service was spot on lovely ladies all attentive and what was left was packed up for us to take home. A wonderful afternoon and I could not recommend enough. We will definitely be back !

Popped in today for cupa and tea cake but bought some mint chocolate home made cake to take away And we can only say it was AMAZING!! This cake would win awards and it’s just like our mums would have made. Feel we may have to sample more of the cakes very soon. Dolly’s did us proud! We held the wake for our dearly departed grandad here. He was a regular customer and loved going there. The buffet was delicious and the cakes were amazing. They were very helpful and very kind and kept us topped up with tea and coffee too. Grandad would have recommended them for their lunches and we would definitely recommend them for a delicious buffet spread. Thank you Dolly’s x

Never been here before . It was a treat for my mum. Four of us went for a high tea. We were asked which sandwiches we wanted , and which cake and scones. Usually in other establishments you get what you are given . Very friendly. Lovely soft bread for sandwiches, huge pieces of cake, and lovely scones with jam and clotted cream. All home made - all delicious too. All the tea you can drink . Also each person gets their own cake stand , really nice. Thankyou . We will be back .

Visited with Mum on a wet & cold day. We both went for the soup, can't remember what Mum had, however I went for Tomato & Basil. Lovely big soup bowl of freshly made, but too much for us both. It was warming & thick.Looking at the meal portions, they were a good size & freshly cooked

My friend and myself visited for lunch today, and it is an amazing find. I chose it because of the good reviews I had read and we weren’t disappointed. We both ordered the ploughman’s lunch and it was delicious. We asked if we could have both ham and cheese and our plates were full!! Three large chunks of a good strong cheddar, two lovely slices of ham, pickled onions, homemade coleslaw, which was so scrummy, chutney, salad and a warm baton. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A return visit will happen as we were so impressed and want to try more from the menu. Well worth a visit.

Went to this restaurant on Tuesday 26th February 2019. The place was lovely and clean till a baby chucked food about Ha Ha Ha. Seriously, the place is extremely clean. The staff are wonderful and joked with me over a report in a paper. Food is excellent and bloody hot. And there wasn't a long time before it arrived on our table. Well worth a visit 100 out of 100. Well done girls, as Arnie says, "I'll be back" Definitely recommended.

Through the door and greeted by a relaxed atmosphere , regular customers and first timer,me. Stories of benny Hill and Les Dawson’s piano playing in on corner and banter with staff and customer in another. The food is well presented and taste good, home made cake is everywhere. Decor is homey and eclectic. Would I go in again? When in town looking to get a nice cuppa I’ll be there. Thanks from a Dorset visitor.

Visiting Gosport for a specific shop, we strolled on into Stoke Road for a light lunch at Dolly’s. Welcoming on a sunny day, with friendly and efficient staff. The menu is wide ranging and there are daily specials on the board. Rightly a popular cafe in the community, this was our first visit, but we will very happily return.

My wife and I went to this restaurant/Tea Rooms for a light snack. We were met by Kerry and her assistant. Both were extremely polite and accommodating. I asked Kerry for a breakfast to which she informed me that they stopped cooking breakfast at 11am. BUT she said, if I wanted breakfast she would cook it but I would have to wait a bit. My wife ordered Soup and a roll. The wait wasn't long at all. My breakfast appeared within minutes and was extremely hot and very, very tasty. Coffee was included in the meal, but I ordered another. I like coffee. After the meal we had a conversation about the Tea Rooms with Kerry, who I might add is a very nice lady. I then told her who I was, to which she was surprised, and said "I've never had a Lord eat in here before ." I'm incognito" I told her and that I seldom used my title.I can honestly say, our stay was a very, very pleasant one. Food and service EXCELLENT. Thank you Kerry for making our stay in your Tea Rooms a pleasant one. This Tea Rooms is well recommended, the staff go overboard to make sure you get the service you deserve. 100 out of a 100.

We went to Dolly's as the reviews were fab. The setting was lovely; very impressed at first. However, we waited over 25 minutes for a few dishes when there were very few customers in. The dishes themselves were mish-mash; tortilla crisps seemed very unusual to be put with something like macaroni cheese... There were only about 4 crisps, very little salad and I received an entire stick of celery on my plate, very unappealing. I myself had a quiche and it was unfortunately tasteless.

What a delightful cafe this is! Whilst Gosport has its fair share of these, Dolly's stands out because of its unique decor and retro music playing quietly in the background. The food and service is wonderful, with many a tempting treat to get the taste buds going. I love the luxury of nice china and individual teapots with their own tea-cosy's, and the menu has something for everyone. Definitely worth visiting over and over again.
