Doh-Wah in Doncaster

As this is our local Chinese takeaway, we order from here quite frequently. We don’t live too far away so usually collect our order, which is always ready when we arrive, piping hot. The staff are very friendly. The food never fails to disappoint and prices are very reasonable.

So I never, ever write a review. But maybe that’s the problem, people don’t review things enough. First time I’ve ordered a takeaway from here. I went with trip advisor recommendation and thought all sounded really positive. Lady on the phone sounded lovely and really helpful. Paid £30 for a combination of starters and main which I did think was a bit pricey and that was with one starter free (starter free if u spend £30). Ordered soups : thought it was really odd that they didn’t sell hot and sour soup. So I ordered my normal (chicken and sweet corn) and husband opted for chicken and mushroom as an alternative to hot and sour. Chicken and sweet corn was okay, a little bland and you could see lumps of jelly in it, but it was just ‘ok’. The chicken and mushroom soup, well you’ve never seen anything like it! It was very, very watery, no soup consistency whatsoever with mushrooms sliced in half and huge slices of chicken. It was very watery and my husband and son state the soup tasted like gravy granules. I admittedly, did not try it. The sight of it was enough for me. Prawn crackers were lovely. The barbecue ribs were ok, a bit big for me, but husband said they were ‘ok’. Prawn toast very much lacking in prawn. Just tasted like sesame seeds on fried bread. Not a hint or prawn. The sweet and sour chicken balls tasted ok though the sauce was very peppery. The egg fried rice was ok. The house special chow mein, albeit a bit bland as were the spring rolls. Felt totally let down tonite as judging by these reviews I thought I was in for a lovely meal. Sadly, this was not the case x

Brilliant brilliant Chinese takeaway. We used this a lot when I was @ home over 20yrs ago , I grew up got married moved out of the area & when we moved back a short while the 1st thing my wife said is the Doh-Wah still going ..... & yes it is as good as ever & looks like the same owners. The Spare Ribs Dry r absolutely fabulous, everything we had seamed just as good . By far the best in the area .

had another excellent meal, keep trying different meals from there extensive choice , and liking them all, fast delivery.. always hot ..and the extras make all the difference,, 5 star as usual.... those sauces takes some beating. :)

Trabajó almuerzo tarde perder y la cena, nos doh-wah un anillo, necesitaba la comida entrega a mi lugar de trabajo. . . . . . . Servicio de entrega. Ahora tiene todas formas ha sido excelente,,,, y no me decepcionó este tiempo :). También dieron extras de Evan, que es un bonito detalle. . . . sigue siendo el mejor. . . Welldone.

La entrega fue rápida, la comida estaba caliente, pero me pareció que el curry muy sosa.. . No tiene sabor, casi como si aguadas

again doh-wah did them selves proud , service was super fast food as always right on the button we shifted the lot, two happy workers , big well done to all :)

Visited this place last week. Absolutely beautiful food. Ended up ordering nearly a banquet for everyone Portion sizes are huge. ( 1 can last me 2 meals) the prawn crackers don't though. Too small clearly haha. The fried rice is lovely. Moist and eggy. I discovered garlic chips oh my gosh@ they are heaven on earth. Excuse the garlic breath but they are lovely. Staff have always been friendly. Have to tell the girl off who answers the phone sometimes ad she speaks too fast. Been coming to this place for 15 plus years and still love it.

Fancied a Chinese take-a-way and as our local one was closed I drove the 2.7mes to this one which we used to use a lot in the old days. Quick service, great value, quality food and no skimping on proportions. All in all a great Chinese takeaway. One comment though. Curry sauce is very strong/spicy. Portions small in comparison with my local one though although I have not compared the price per quantity.

the food from doh wah, never falters in its taste and quality, first class food every time :) delivery is great , food always hot ,and the little freebies are a nice touch,

why try the rest ...when doh wa is always the best takeaway you could want been using doh wa for years and never had a complaint,

this is a little diamond of a Chinese takeaway run by one family who are very friendly. check opening times before ordering as they may not open every day/night.

This is our favourite Chinese take away in the area, we've used the Doh-Wah for many years and have yet to be disappointed, the foods always hot and great tasting, the owners often put extras in with your order, the staff are always friendly.

Regular visitors to this Chinese. Possibly the best sauces and meats for Chinese food in Doncaster. Staff are always pleasant and the portion sizes are massive for the price.

The delivery was fast, the food was great and the staff were very friendly, this seriously is a solid chinese takeaway, highly recommended and fast it was for the food to arrive, very happy!

Chicken needs changing but everything else lovely. Really good value for money but its just there meat that lets them down so always end up using other places.

This used to be my favourite Chinese takeaway but somehow I don't feel the food is as fresh as it used to be. I'm certainly not saying it's off but just not fresh. After many years of coming here I now use another close by Chinese takeaway because I prefer the quality of their food. Sorry Doh-Wah

Ordered from here all my life there food is superb but theres one thing that really lets them down and thats there meat. Chicken not really nice and beef is slimey I really wish theyd change it.

Quality just very average for Chinese food, taste bland. So much so bad got bored and gave up! Some better ones about the area.

The food here is great, I order on a regular basis and have found the staff to be friendly and talkative. The best dish to me is special fried rice with chicken curry! Mmmmmm! Will order tonight actually!

Food is good value for money Chinese (and English) Takeaway - We find that one meal is big enough for the two of us but that will depend on your own appetite!

Go here regularly, always order something different although i'm a bit of a chicken fried rice lover.. the service is pretty good, the food is tasty and plentiful, and at a reasonable price and we always get a smile and free prawn crackers.They are a close knit family run business and their food is always yummy!

The delivery was very fast and got to my house in 6 Minutes and the delivery person was kind and gentle. The food was great, despite it was to hot and spicy, it was a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

We regularly order from doh wah. The food is always good, hot and plenty of it. The prices are the same as other local takeaways. Delivery is usually very quick, the delivery drivers are always friendly and polite. my favourite meal is chowmein and my husband loves their chicken curry. They do a mean spare rib too.
