We had an amazing experience hosting throwing our one year old golden retriever puppy her first birthday at the Dog & Bean. They met with us early, helped design a budget that fit our gathering and even planned out the perfect three-tier dog cake (there were delicious vegan and regular cupcakes for the human guests). They thought of everything down to the smallest detail, golden retriever cut out bunting with our dog's name on it, coloring sheets for the kids and take home bags with treats and toys for the dog guests. I can't recommend them enough - we also love stopping in after school for cups of tea and their delicious shortbread cookies (plus puppacinos and sausages for our dogs!) Thanks again Dog & Bean and we'll be seeing you soon for sure.

Dog & Bean aims to be inclusive to everyone who might visit - adults, children, LGBTQ folks, people with disabilities, neurodivergent folks, and everyone else too. They use food from local allotments in their menus (this week, it's apples in the apple and cinnamon crumble!), source their coffee and tea from local businesses, and try their best to operate in and *for* the community. Dog & Bean are also incredibly dog friendly, and have force-free dog trainers on site every Sunday for drop-in advice sessions. On top of there is an extensive doggy menu for your four-legged friend! I might be a little biased, but I'd 100% recommend Dog & Bean to anyone with our without a pooch!

I would highly recommend Dog and Bean whether you have a dog in tow or not. The staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Lots of drink and food options and not just 'dog-friendly' - they encourage doggy customers with an extensive dog menu! A great community asset.

I’ve been coming to the Dog and Bean for the past few months and can’t fault it. Friendly staff, delicious food and drinks, and an abundance of cute doggy visitors! The vegan shortbread is delicious, and I was introduced to a London Fog (earl grey tea with steamed oat milk and vanilla) and it has become a huge favourite of mine! I thoroughly recommend a visit. :)

I've become a regular customer since my first visit. It's a place that is very welcoming to people dog owners or not. They have a great range of seasonal and all-year round drinks, even teas that are harder to find in other independent cafes. They'll always ask which type of milk you'd prefer for your orders. The food is always fresh and delicious and alternatives for vegan and vegetarians.

Excellent atmosphere of inclusion, whether you have a dog or not. Great set up for well socialised dogs of all types. Menu for humans and canine companions, exceptional coffee, awesome tea selection and great savoury and sweet food items. Was at the Vets in the Community fundraiser last night, good cause and fab entertainment. Dee and the team are trying to utilise the space for lots of community minded ideas such as the games night and the kindness cafe!

I discovered Julie's gem while visiting the area. The atmosphere is welcoming and homely, the food excellent and freshly-prepared. Honest, wholesome and the price is a pleasant surprise too. Well worth a call, you will be the better for having visited Julie's. I heard about the afternoon tea while chatting there, sounds like an occasion.
