God pub and venue - spoiled by horrible venting of smoke from kitchen onto outside terrace - looked like some kind of war scene! Staff were genuinely embarrassed by it and frustrated by delay in fixing the issue. Get it sorted management!

My goodness how could this establishment masquerading as a restaurant/cafe be rated at 4.5. This will remain a puzzle for me long after I endeavour to expunge the memory of my visit to this dreadful place from my memory banks. Appalling, awful ‘ pig swill ‘ being served up to customers by service staff who essentially do nothing more than grunt at customers. Friends and I made the mistake of visiting this place recently for what we were hoping was going to be a lovely breakfast in the beautiful surrounds of this area. Our experience was beyond disappointing as people should not be allowed to offer up this ‘ Pig Swill ‘ to paying customers. I asked for nothing too extravagant …. fried eggs with some crisp bacon. What I received was an offering that would perhaps be offered at the Gulag …. two undercooked eggs and two very thin rashers of bacon, the bulk of the plate was then covered with some type of limp lettuce and what made it even worse was receiving barely lukewarm food ??? Our friends and I certainly are happy to pay for good quality food, but paying nearly 23 pounds ( $43.00 Aud ) is simply outrageous and I now understand why hundreds of thousands of English people have emigrated to Australia ….. certainly not just for the sun and a better quality of life but to have decent quality food ! Having spent a number of weeks in beautiful Italy sampling wonderful food this experience was indeed a shock to the system. Please, please look for other options …. give this establishment a VERY VERY WIDE BERTH !!

I stumbled upon this small haven of bars/restaurants/boats as I was leaving my visit to the Tower Bridge, just a short jaunt across the street. I’m glad I chose to eat lunch at a restaurant in this “quarter” of the city. TripAdvisor labels this listing as a restaurant, but this is not accurate—St. Katharine’s Dock is a broader public area home to many amazing eateries and views. You won’t want to miss either! It’s safe, clean, and worth your time.

This place just took our breath away. It seems to have everything. There are many places to eat including the usual chains but it is so quiet and peaceful and spooky to think that Tower Bridge and all the traffic is just a stone's throw away. Time seems to stand still here and you can have a relaxing drink while just watching the world go by. We were so taken with this place that next time we're in London we will stay at the Premier Inn near to Tower Gateway so that we can explore a bit more.

Even bough most of Tower Bridge is shadowed by the monstrous Guoman Hotel, this benefitted the area as there aren’t that many tourists venturing this way. As a local I love that. Quiet as a village, peppered with cafes and restaurants, and the closest Wapping gets to a French Riviera.

Only a minute's walk from Tower Bridge and you are away from the noise and traffic, looking at boats that cost more than the average house. There is a small Starbucks and a few small shops, as well as restaurants. A few older buildings hint at what East End London used to be like before the developers moved in.

This is a really nice Marina tucked away by the North bank of the River Thames, East of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Given the location, it's surprising peaceful. It is a nice place to go for walk around the dock, and you can enjoy looking at the quite impressive moored yachts. There are also a few restaurants and a nice Pub (The Dicken's Inn) if you fancy a drink. This is a good place to go if you want a little break from the more dynamic London atmosphere.

This area of London used to be popular with people in the "know" and you hardly used to see any tourists here. It was somewhere you can get away from the busy and vibrant city of London. Alas the secret is out and this place is now popular with locals and tourists alike. However, it still retains its charm. Sometimes you can see yachts worth over a million docked there... They're now have a growing number of restaurants (catering to all budgets) and bars. I love this area in London.

If you're a Bob Hoskins fan, you would have noticed the crummy backdrop from some of the Tower Bridge scenes, well you'll be happy to know that these have been redeveloped throughout the 70's, 80's and finally 90's to make a beautiful Marina (Known as St Kats) and with some rebuilt, and some renovated buildings. Sadly, the ugly-as-hell Tower Bridge Hotel is included, but sometimes there is a beauty in the ugliness, so take a short look, then perhaps look the other way to the basin of lovely Boats (Mmmm) and good selection of food-stops!! Theres a cracking selection with a weekly market too. Peruse the millionaires playthings for free, have a few dreams, and then eat and drink to your hearts content. p.s. Some of the boats cost under £10,000 so with a little help from the bank, you too could sail in and pick a berth! It's great...

There are 3 separate marinas I think with boats of all shapes and sizes.During the day it is a peaceful place, on a night not so much, because people are simply enjoying themselves wining and dining. There is no shortage of places to eat both inside and out.if you like strolling by the water in clean surroundings then this is the place. The other thing worth noting is that the Thames,Tower Bridge and Tower of London is just round the corner.

This was a visit to see off the 12 Clipper boats on their round the world race. This was a great event, especially if you have been involved in a previous race, intend to go in future or are seeing off friends or relatives on the current race. It is a great venue to show off the boats and to introduce the crews, skippers and sponsors. Food and drinks were available from the pub, not visited, and Strarbucks. Starbucks was over crowded and the heated ham and cheese croissant very ordinary. However the atmosphere for the occasion was excellent and to see Tower Bridge opened twice for the Clipper fleet an exceptional experience. On a normal quiet day this is a delightful place to visit with the Tower of London and Tower Bridge to explore nearby. The high end boats sit quietly in their berths and there is always the interest of boats locking in and out from the Thames. A trip on the Thames by ferry boat is also available from here and is not to be missed. There are lots of restaurants that overlook the dock to try. Overall a great experience and one that Great Britain and London can be proud of. It was interesting to compare the photos of the cities that will be visited during the Clipper race. Only Sydney really compares with the view of St Catherines Dock, Tower Bridge and the architecture around that area. Outstanding!

No doubt it will get busier later in the day but for an early morning coffee what a treat. Due to its small size there is no wc facilities but that is a minor detail..there is also seating outside to enable one to enjoy the lovely surroundings..well worth a visit

Who would have thought that there was a marina right next to Tower Bridge? The land where the currant buildings are situated was given to 12 knights by King Edgar in the 10th Century with the right to trade. There has been a dock there since 1125.Now it has been rejuvenated and the warehouses' are luxury apartments. It has a quaint feel to it and you can spend your time walking the cobbled streets around the marina, marvelling at the luxury yachts and dreaming of setting sail on one.
