I remember when Djangos opened a few years ago - BBQ is my bag, so I was quite excited. I've been several times since then, and am pleased to confirm that it lives up to my expectations. The food is great (can highly recommend the beef short rib) and so are the cocktails (which you can usually get as 2-for-1). Service has always been great as well. I've noticed that they've made a few tweaks since they opened, all of which have improved the menu/experience. If you haven't checked this place out yet, then you should!

I went to this restaurant/bar with my wife and 8 month old daughter and I was thoroughly impressed! The food was great, drinks were refreshing and fun, and the atmosphere was awesome! I wasn't expecting to find such a great BBQ place in didcot England but it's one of the best I've ever been to personally. Huge portions and incredible staff that made us feel immediately welcome. We even got some suggestions for traveling around the area and help navigating public transit! Overall just a great experience that I couldn't recommend more, our server Vicky and the bartender Ryan were so helpful and nice it felt like we had gone to a friend's house and not a restaurant

Update: They've changed the menu! The wings no longer come tossed in sauce, which is an absolute shame. Now, they're supplied as a dipping sauce, which means you get less sauce per wing. Our visit today was disappointing with core flavours of sauces also changed, the korean bbq is now more like a capital spare rib sauce, the spicy mayo isn't an ounce spicy, this coupled with poor portions of sauce which adds to quite a greasy experience. The wings cooking was more varied, from perfectly done to some pinker than ideal. From my previous post, I would have gone back, and I did (many times), but since the menu change, quality drop, and inconsistent cooking, I'm afraid I won't be rushing back anytime soon, as the appeal has gone. Old Review (5 star for reference): Unlimited wings on a Wednesday - yes please! Not only can I not recommend the Buffalo and the Korean BBQ wings if you're not afraid of some spice, its worth thanking Quinn who looked after the table, incredibly attentive and kept us well fed and watered. We'll definitely be coming back soon!

Always have a great time when visiting Djangos and the food always seems to be getting better. I encourage everyone and anyone to try the burnt ends!

Amazing food, would recommend all day if you like smoked meat.

Imagine it’s your first day on planet Earth and you've never had a real burger. You go to McDonald's, maybe you think it tastes okay? Real BBQ is all about the low and slow. It takes time to smoke meat to perfection. This requires time for the smoke flavour to develop and the collagens to break down to give that juicy, melt-in-the-mouth texture and flavour that only good BBQ has. Unfortunately, this place does not offer this. It's fundamentally lacking in smoke, and the meat has been cooked fast & hot, so it's essentially roasted meat pretending to be BBQ then covered in sugar. Management, please take notice. Once you get the meats right, it's all about the sauce. Your sauce size and flavours are a joke. Also, FYI, Garlic aioli must actually contain garlic and taste of garlic. So, if you think McDonald's is the finest cuisine that mankind has to offer, then you're going to love this place. As a reply to the owner’s comments: Unless you fundamentally rethink the restaurant’s cooking style, then I will not be returning. Zero bark development on the meat, limited smoke penetration with limited smoke taste. Extremely poor range and tasting sauces. Next, fix the sides. BBQ is also massivly the sides. Southern Style coleslaw, pickles, mac and cheese, potato salad and beans, they all need to taste as good as the mains. Unfortunately, your side menu is mostly about deep-frying cheap ingredients to fill plates. One last point, pulled pork should be succulent, moist, and indulgent, it should make you smile and want to shake the chefs hand. So don't get pissy because someone with a half-decent pallet that knows BBQ points out how disappointing your restaurant actually is, so up your game and fix the problems.

We had a nice evening at Smokehouse. The staff were fantastic, we had great service from Ryan and the blonde lady (I'm sorry I didn't get a name!) Who were very friendly and looked after us well.

Shocking how highly rated this is, I can only assume this is the first time anyone in didcot has been to a bbq restaurant. Bad food and bang average cocktails probably made from pre mix. We did wing Wednesday and they are flavourless frozen wings deep fried with almost no meat on so you just end up eating deep fried batter all night - I wouldn’t be surprised if I was eating pigeon wings. No cook should serve plain flavourless wings with a dipping sauce on the side. The whole menu is likely cooked from frozen. Save yourself the trip and go to burnout bbq in Oxford instead.

Great evening out with family, food was amazing. The flavours were strong , and tasty, but not over powering, meat was very tender, fell of bone, very happy, friendly staff. Good mix of cocktails and amazing food. Will definitely come back

Django's is new in town and quite a different atmosphere, which is nice. The atmosphere is comfortable, music adds well and fun. I do like the bar, it's quite pleasant to sit there. The wine list and drinks is different to other restaurants in town. I tried the Temperanillo, Suavignon blanc and Spanish Blanco. The food menu is a typical smoke house but does have some lighter snack style Leo, is an amazing cocktail Mixologist. Every drink is presented like a picture. The best Margarita I have tasted. But, her own creation is the Fusion Confusion, try it. George is the latest mixologist, his jalapeno margarita is an incredibly amazing taste. I go here often to chill and relax. The staff are really great and like a laugh, which is good as so do I.

Atmosphere was quiet but peaceful. Only couple of issues was, it was awfully cold i ate my whole meal with my coat on and the price was a little expensive for what you got on your plate. But the food was delicious although the pork was a little spicy for my liking the burger was delicious though. Will return. Put the heating on 🥶

I had a fantastic experience at Django's! The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly smoked meats with deep, rich flavors and tender textures. Service was top-notch; the staff, especially Ryan, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The only downside is that it’s a bit on the pricey side, but given the quality of the food and service, it’s well worth it. Definitely a must-visit for BBQ lovers!

Excellent evening for my son’s 18th. The food, the wait staff, the attention to our table, our order checked as it arrived (it was a large order), all perfect! Would highly recommend and we will most definitely be returning. Thank you for completely embarrassing my son with a surprise candle in a dessert and getting the entire restaurant to sing happy birthday to him. 😊 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all day long!!

My review dates 2025 Alas, my review needs changing. It was my last time going to Django's and I'm a bitter about writing this... They have changed the way wings are made and in all honesty, it just feels lazy. For example, the wings starter was the Korean BBQ Sauce, they used to be marinated in the sauce with sesame seeds and spring onion. Now they serve the chicken wings plain (overcooked) with a little pot of sauce for you to dip in.... No seeds, no spring onion, just plain wings. I loved those wings and honestly its lazy but is what it is. It was a good ride, after a few years going there, I must say goodbye forever. My review dates 2024 Will never stop going here, I live in reading which is a bit of a journey but don't not care. Food awesome, prices are well worth the amount and quality of food, staff are lovely and atmosphere great, will 100% recommend this to anyone, They also listen to feedback from customers. A while back they very few cocktails on the menu, they asked for feedback from customers and after reading reviews, they have a whole list! Super rare for a restaurant to listen to it's customers, I love it

Restaurant with two seating areas on ground and first floor, both with a bar area. Kitchen is at the back on the ground floor with service window looking into the main restaurant area. Toilets situated upstairs. Service was quick, food also came quickly. Burnt ends are a must to order, absolutely delicious. Main was 2 seasoned chicken legs on the bone (would have liked this specified that it would be served on the bone). One was perfectly cooked and the other very dry so quality was unfortunately variable. Loaded fries tasty but not enough of them compared to the meat on offer, portion was far too small. Food was very enjoyable despite those smaller niggles. Cocktails without alcohol are always unfairly expensive but the cocktails with alcohol were well delivered and a good range of drinks on offer. Regular deals throughout the week, lots of offers to take advantage of and worth researching before you go. Overall a good night out and I'd go back again!

A young lady i heard be called Quinn served me and my friends. She was so lovely, funny and on top of all orders and drinks! I was never without a drink at the bottomless brunch. The food was so good! Burnt ends (amazing) burgers (cool me down).

We visited djangos on valentines night and it was amazing, the food its self is probably up with the best meat I’ve ever had! The service was great and no complaints, if I had one negative it would be that the upstairs is abit tight in terms of tables but apart from that we will definitely be going back!

Have eaten here before and know they do amazing roast dinners! Have come out for Valentines Day impromptu and are not disappointed at all. We went for the normal menu and cocktails. The food is REALLY good, the service is EXCELLENT, the atmosphere is warm, friendly, inviting, good music, honestly, This place is so good!

My husband wanted to go to a BBQ restaurant for his birthday and this one was worth driving to! Service was friendly and attentive, there was a great selection of drinks, my dietary restrictions were catered for, and they brought my husband a complimentary birthday brownie. Starters of chicken wings and tenders were great, followed by pork ribs and slow cooked wagyu beef with chips for mains and pit beans side, which were all delicious! Highly recommend! Thank you!

It was spontaneous visit in the smokehouse. We went for Django's Smokehouse Platter to share. The portion massive with beef, pork ribs and slow pulled pork. Fries were tasty, the same bean, corn on the hob and red coleslaw. All was delicious and meal was served hot. Very friendly staff too. We will be back!

Absolutely amazing, even tho it took us so long to arrive due to traffic, the staff were so accommodating and helpful, the food was incredible and tasty 😋 plus it was extremely well priced too!! ..... We used upstairs of Djangos to host a baby shower. From start to finish they couldn’t do enough for our party of 26 people. Kate was great to liaise with before the event and very helpful. We had lots of different small plates and the nachos, the food was 10/10. Great service and lovely venue. Can’t wait to come back again!

We had one roast chicken and one roast beef rib and they were both amazing! Especially the beef rib, it just fell off the bone. Ryan was really friendly and a great host. Would come again.

I visited djangos today for the first time and I am so impressed! Was greeted immediately, drinks and food were ordered and arrived in excellent time, but not too much pressure to be ready to order, excellent music and atmosphere. Ryan and Quinn really stood out to me so thank you to them for their kind hospitality. Big shout out to the chefs too for the absolutely delicious food! 10/10 will definitely come back!!!

Amazing time! 😍 Quinn was so lovely and good at recommending vegan food! The bao and cheesecake were amazing 100% would recommend to any vegans in the area, the options are really solid James the chef did an amazing job! The cauliflower wings are the best!

We came here for dinner and had an amazing time. As vegans we were extremely impressed with the quality of the vegan options! The chef has clearly put a lot of thought into these dishes instead of just adding a token vegan item. The jackfruit had a super smoky flavour and amazing texture, the cauliflower wings were delicious and the portion was very generous, and the jackfruits bao buns were perfect. To top it all off, Quinn was an excellent host and really helpful with suggesting cocktails. Compliments to head chef James!

Hosted two Christmas parties here, the management and the providers are absolutely excellent. Had a great time and the ribs are so good.

Quiet Sunday and a relaxed vibe, brisket was great but the potatoes could have been crispier for the roast dinner. Prices are good as was service although someone may need to give the staff a hug because the music while impeccable was v sad 😢

We were warmly welcomed in and served by Quinn and Ryan, the Sunday roast was delicious, beef cooked perfectly. Service was fantastic, fast and polite. Very dog friendly place too which is a bonus!

Always a great experience the various times I’ve been I have returned since this review and can confirm that djangos 100% delivers the best smash burger in Oxfordshire, the classic and the American bbq are worth any trip for. The big difference compared to even dedicated burger places is the high quality meat used, makes such a difference!
