This place is a secret gem. The prices are sensational for a completely authentic South Indian vegetarian menu. Tucked away in Drummond Street, near Euston station. A basic, no-fuss, service and atmosphere. Always satisfying and pleasant to visit.

One of the joys of going to Diwana, is that you’re never quite sure what kind of service you’re going to get. Will it be grumpy, offhand and patchy or will it be really good. Today was one of the lucky days for us and the service was really, really good. The food was excellent, as delicious as we’ve ever had there. It is of course excellent value for money and so, we’re quite happy to give Diwana a whole hearted recommendation. I’ve been going to Diwana since the 70s and I can’t remember the food tasting this delicious. Well worth a visit!

I came here because I've heard that it's run by an Indian family. I was very disappointed as they didn't care for me and my needs and were only interested in money. A better option is across the street, the Drummond Villa, where humans and their needs come first and commerce come in second place 🤗💖

The lunch buffet is AMAZING. The most authentic Indian food I’ve had outside of India. Great value and lots of flavour. The restaurant is warm and inviting. So happy I stopped in. They constantly keep refilling the buffet and it was a revolving door of people coming in. Thank you! I really enjoyed the mint tea, and the buffet was a great opportunity to try new foods.

I first ate here in about 1971, when the menu wasn't in English! We used to have competitions to see who could eat £5 worth of food. Mr Patel was so friendly. Sadly passed away. RIP Mr Patel. Many happy memories. The shrikhand was delicious.

I have been coming to Diwana for so many years as it is has consistently great food. Masala Dosa is probably my go to. The weekend buffet however is my all time favourite Diwana experience. I normally avoid restaurant buffets - this one is high quality. I come away feeling truly satisfied; just great food. I'm truly not vegetarian, nontheless this simple place is a gem that really hits the spot and is well worth a visit.

Excellent weekend buffet. £12.95 for adults, around £7 for kids. With a desert buffet & homemade sauces & pickles amongst the big spread of dishes. Definitely recommend!

Diwana is my favourite Indian restaurant. I’ve been coming here for almost forty years. The food is always good. The service is attentive, friendly but not intrusive. On my last visit I had a lovely evening meal here with my best friend.

Masala chai was more for whites not for Indians. Also, quality of food have gone down. Also, added 10% service charge.

Great place to grab a meal before catching the train at Euston. Really good value for money and nice friendly staff. Recommend the masala dosa and the tamarind juice. Have been 3 times and will be back again soon

A decent option if you're in the area, nice staff. Curries are made with frozen mixed veg rather than fresh, bit disappointing but guess they've had to cut costs. Don't bother with the masala chai, it doesn't have any flavour.

Crowded and noisy, the food is good, dishes like home cooking.... the spinach dish is really excellent, the samosa is excellent, the thali is nice, but not amazing

Teníamos thali 7 pequeños platos servidos en una bandeja de plata esto incluye desierto, así que no lo ponga en sus platos principales como una salsa! Tengo que tener curry suave que era mi pard tiene que tener caliente que era. El personal era muy servicial. Le expliqué que no soy bueno con el chile dijeron que mis platos tendrían yogur y me darán más. Debería necesitarlo, lo cual fue muy amable de su parte. El lugar en sí es básico no espere lujos. Los botines no están muy limpios, así que mejor evitar! La comida es buena y auténtica y no es caro

I was revisiting this plafe after nearly 30 years... If it is the same one... And i ordered bhel Puri but then realised i.had lost my phine which had the cards in. So i. Had another phone on me n i said can i pay by Amex. He said they dont take. Which is fine but then i was like can. I so a bank transfer and he was like no sorry we don't accept. So i was a bit disappointed as i had walked with swollen legs for about 20 mins to find it. Anyways.. Maybe another time. They perhaps thought i was pretending...

Mi esposa y yo fuimos con un amigo y todos acordamos que la comida era muy buena. También algunas críticas han dicho que el personal era grosero y poco servicial, que no es el caso, eran muy amables y atentos, gracias. Sin duda recomendaría este restaurante por la comida increíble y el buen servicio.

Han venido aquí desde 1973. Es igual de bonito y auténtico. (Recuerdo cuando se instaló el asiento actual). ES VEGETARIANO El menú parece no haber cambiado en absoluto, pero ¿por qué debería? Nos encantan los entrantes fríos como Bhel poori - la salsa es dulce y salada y el contenido crujiente. Me encanta el Salt Lassi pero era un poco más fino (y mejor hace 40 años). Hace poco tuve la Fan Dosa y las de siempre compartidas con amigos. Todo bonito y de buena calidad. ¡Todos los Panes y lados son geniales! Tuvimos todos los desiertos maravillosos y mis nietos les encantó todo, especialmente el calentado Gulab Jaman. ¡Inténtalo! El servicio ha mejorado con los años y ahora es excelente. Hace 50 años había una barrera lingüística genuina. Los otros restaurantes aquí son estoy seguro de todo bien, pero siempre volvemos a Diwana. AMBALA la dulce tienda de enfrente también es un lugar maravilloso para visitar. Cierra a las 7 pm, creo. Compra el Pastel de Zanahoria y todo lo demás que sea atractivo.

My grandfather used to take me to this wonderful restaurant when I was a child. I decided revisited last Thursday. Even though we entered towards closing time, the staff and the manager were more than happy to welcome us in. My wife had a Dosa and I had the tiffin. A fantastic meal with fantastic service, and at a reasonable price. I will be visiting again with my family in the near future.

Best veggie Indian curry place in the area. Been coming for years. Friendly and efficient service, calm, relaxed ambience and excellent, tasty food. Excellent value for money and very fast service. I couldn’t rate it more highly - would give it six stars if I could!

Great tastes: even the determined carnivores in our group were happy. (This is a vegan establishment) They turn the tables around quickly, you can't really linger after you have finished eating. The queue said it all really.

Top notch South Indian cafe. It's not a grand place, has been the same for at least a couple of decades. But the food is great, service speedy and accurate, great chatty atmosphere. Very convenient for Euston Station. Loved the fan shaped crispy dosa ! Would go again, and recommend. No licence, so take your own beer !

Always a great experience at Diwana. The food is delicious and affordable, and the staff are very welcoming. Chill atmosphere to hang out with friends over food, and also BYOB. Will continue to come back.

Terriblemente horrible... no son indios, solo usan el nombre de indio, comida de muy mala calidad, muy mal servicio, muy mal lenguaje, muy mala actitud y ambiente... casi todos en la calle de drummond son así... solo ten en cuenta el lugar peligroso para visitar.

Visited a few weeks ago. Food was insane & I’m still thinking about it! We all paid around £12-£13 each (there were 15 of us) - couldn’t believe it! Thank you very much. :-)

Best dosa I’ve tried in London and such a calm, friendly atmosphere. Lovely clean wood furnishings - very homey like a ski lodge. I love this place and can’t wait to come back!

Diwana is an institution! It’s unique: hearty, warm, cozy, simple, delicious (South Indian) and tremendous value for money. Milat and his team look after us so well. There are many reasons we have been coming here since the 1980s.

Good cheap weekend buffet $12.95 eat as much as you like but not as good as dishes from their normal menu.

Best vegetarian food restaurant in the area. They have a vast variety of options to choose from. I particularly love the lunch buffet.

Clearly a few fake reviews in here ...maybe from rival restaurants or groups. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. Some of the best Indian food I've eaten in London

Went on a busy weekday evening. Service was good. Food was above average. We tried the Bhel Poori and Dosas, which were good. The famous kulfi was just average (have had better in London), the kheer was below average. Didn’t try the thali but I will be back to try it. The mango lassi was not so nice- (very sweet and seems to be made with mango juice/can), but may appeal to some.

A visit to Diwana with a friend. The staff were friendly and polite and vegetarian dishes were tasty, hot, ample spice. A tasty dish I particular enjoy is the Masala Dosa. Based on my experience, I would recommend and look forward to rerunning back (Note - the front of shop has had a face lift and now shows a green paint work!).

The only positive thing about this place was authentic food . Extremely noisy , we were refused to be seated in a quieter area as they didn't want to serve due to lack of staff. The whole restaurant had a mouldy and dirty smell due to the type of furniture that was absorbed directly from the kitchen . Could do with improved decor and refitting.

Dosa was exactly same as the one I had in Mysore,India. Very kind staffs. Highly recommended if you miss S.India

I was taken to Diwana by a friend who has been going to Diwana all his life. I loved it. Great food, very charming, can't wait to go back.

I love this place so much that I have to return on every London visit. The aloo poori are at once crisp, cool, savoury and tangy. So fresh. . The dosa are delicious and substantial with refills of the yummy chutneys. All incredibly inexpensive too. The surroundings haven’t changed in 30 years. All pine panelling and metal cups like India, no concern for fleeting fashion. Just great mild South Indian goodness. Recommended!

Food is always tasty and fantastic here! We had amazing Paper Dosa and Brinjal Bhaji and Chapati. Had a really tasty chai too. The buffet is popular! Staff were really friendly and the food was served quickly. Thankyou!
