Divan cafe in Havering

Here this morning for a breakfast. Was very good. Wasn’t too impressed with the sausage however. The service was excellent and all staff i interacted with were very nice.

Chose this place as it seemed fairly busy. The staff inside were friendly and welcoming. Once seated we were given time to look at the menu before we were approached to order. Just had a tea and sausage and onion sandwich. Both went down very nicely. Will definitely be returning at some point. I can definitely recommend this place.

Went there for lunch with working bunch 😁. 6 man and we all had kind of different meals but everything was delicious. JP with chilli and cheese, breakfast and some had roast dinners. Must say the service was specially nice. Everyone was very happy. Thank you!

Been coming here for years but today was the first time I was blanked and two people got served before me. Place wasn’t even busy and the waitress saw me walk in but couldn’t be bothered to serve me so I used Ppppins cafe up the road instead. You should look after your regulars better. Won’t be coming back.

Popped in for breakfast . How bizarre not able to do poached eggs and NO black pudding . But on the plus side they do fried onions . Tasteful and well cooked ,we enjoyed it and the banter that was being exchanged. Will return when doing dealings in the area . TESEKKUR EDERIM .

Been unwell allday with food poisoning had a bacon and egg roll can't stop the chronic pain in my belly and eggy burps. Advice stop pre cooking bacon and sausages and leaving the eggs out in the hot environment. Poor food hygiene

Popped into Divan for lunch. Ham, egg and chips. Polite service, good coffee and a full plate well cooked to my liking. Friendly staff and all at a reasonable price. Will be happy to go back.

Friendly busy little cafe, serves all usual fare of a cafe. Bit dark inside, toilet not clearly signed posted! Moderate prices.

First visit to the Divan, under recommendation from a good friend. We'd both settled on cod and for the price I wasn't expecting the massive piece of freshly fried cod I received and thoroughly enjoyed. Also had enough room for their delicious sticky toffee pudding and custard. Well worth the visit, I will be returning soon to sample some more of their varied menu. Highly recommend the Divan Café tucked away at the end of the brewery Market. 👍 Update breakfast #2 was delicious!

Opens early. Good value for money.

Staff and cafe are nice just a shame the food is not. B+b was stil warm from the microwave defrost function and the chips tasted of a thousand things apart from potato as the oil was dirty. U could taste it. Whilst ordering another customer said roast was cold in the middle. Never again avoid. Basics

Ridiculous long wait for food even though the place was almost empty, rude and ignorant staff with no idea what customer service means

I just enjoy their food. I always get good service there. The place is neat and the cashiers are always super nice. I highly recommend this place.

This restaurant is my preferable place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I I need a good meal, this is the place that comes straightaway to my mind. superb and all sorts of food and a large list of dishes.helpful crew, and great mood. Also, the charge is good. I praise this restaurant with no doubt.

Excellent food good choice welcoming and friendly

I take my family to this lovely spot quite a bit! This is my favorite spot to grab a bite. I visit this place frequently. The food is very good, the crew is courteous and the cost is affordable. I like going in this place for a decent dinner.

Avoid this cafe at all costs!!! One female waitress makes the whole dinning experience horrendous. She is constantly shouting whilst people are trying to eat. As the oldest waitress there it's possible she's slightly deaf as she is unable to talk without using a raised voice. When I was there she had a full blown row with another member of staff, in full view and sight of the customers. Several people commented that the place would be better without her there. If the owner of the Divan cafe reads this comment can he please get rid of this awful woman, before you start losing more customers? There are plenty of other restaurants in Romford with much nicer staff. Don't waste your money in this one until they get rid of her.

This place is worth a visit. They have large portions for convenient rates. Constantly well kept and with good ambience. Will come back again.

We met with friends at this restaurant for a meeting. my friend recommended this spot. Well, it was very nice. the staff members were so friendly and we had an excellent feeling. The meal was yummy. We loved this restaurant a lot and we will definitely return to this restaurant. We recommend this place to all.

The Cuban has gone down hill it used to be clean and friendly now the floors are dirty and the tables as well it used to be lovely there but for some reason it's not as good

I love this restaurant! They serve high class dishes, they have a nice menu, The cook in that restaurant is very experienced, I like a lot tasting all their food. The food is always tasty, the attitude towards the guests is helpful. I often go to this restaurant and I not even once was discontended. Highly recommended.

The Divan cafe in North Street, just round the corner from Romford's famous town-centre marketplace, has a tribe of regulars who will confirm that you get a good plateful of food, a cheery greeting from the two chefs and the front-of-house lady and impressive value for money. It's a no-frills cafe which specialises in omelettes, grills and traditional home-cooked cafe dinners such as spag bol, bangers & mash, and lasagne. But it's the breakfast menu that catches the eye, especially the special breakfast deal which I tucked into. It's just £4.20 for egg, bacon, beans, toast and a cuppa. And the cuppas are good. But mysteriously, when I asked for scrambled egg rather than fried, I was told that would be 50p extra! Can't understand why, but it hardly made a difference. £4.70 was good value too. Fixed seating means there's no room for manoeuvre inside, but there are tables outside too... and a steady stream of black cab drivers collecting their regular order or using the loo. Breakfast deals run until 11am, and after that the full menu is active. I quite enjoyed my visit. You gaze out at PoundWorld in what vaguely amounts to the beating heart of Romford. But other breakfast places in London still have the edge over Divan when it comes to quality. Nevertheless, a good, cheap, hearty feed.

The owner's attitude was very rude and borderline racist! Instead of apologising for mistakes in our order they mocked our understanding of English and refused to accept responsibility.

My late mother loved this place and often visited when shopping at the market. We popped in for a quick bite and were pleased to see that the food was just as good. All four meals were hot and fresh and the girls serving were great. Long live this little cafe.

Went to this cafe after a visit to the museum. Had a baked potato with a chicken curry filling. Almost more filling than potato which suited me fine

Noce cafe and food... can sometimes get a little hectic and feels like customer service can slip as a consequence. Usually friendly enough though and food is good well cooked and cheap

Went there Saturday for a late lunch and was disgusted with the standard of the food which was of poor quality, overpriced and swimming in chip fat. Clearly staff prefer serving regulars rather than as people arrive. Staff was loud and unprofessional as two staff members had a row between each other over a broken mug in view of customers, and will just stand there on there mobile phone. For the price paid found the portion size and fact the undercooked eggs was swimming if chip fat was horrid. The environment within the the cafe was very loud and unwelcoming with a radio blaring out and staff rowing / shouting. Was struggling to hold a conversation across the table. And how the cafe holds a hygiene level 4 is Beyond me with how dirty the place was. Won’t even go on about the toilet other than rather go in the gutter outside. Myself and my friends won’t be using this dump again.

Visited a few week ago on a Saturday lunch time around 1.30. Was very surprised to find that we didn't have to queue and had a table straight away. Hadn't been here for a few years and remember always queuing for a table. From there it went downhill. We were seated and unfortunately a waitress dropped a tray of crockery near us. Accidents happen but this wasntbthe issue. We had to call a waitress over to take our order. There appeared to be only 2 on duty. The first 2 meals, a breakfast and a burger and chips we given to us. My daughter and wife started to eat, thinking the other 2 would come next. We waited 5 minutes and then chased for my son's chicken nuggets and chips. Still no sign of my meal, a jacket potato and butter. Eventually, I asked where it was and they bought it over. By that time my wife had finished hers and my son and daughter had nearly finished there's. No apologies for the delays.

Every time we are in Romford this is our go to caff . It does everything u want a cafe to do . There’s choice, waitress is Quick and friendly, Food is hot quick and plentiful and it’s not expensive. It’s just by the end of the market, you can get there through a cut through by the brewery car park . There’s seats inside or out. Food goes from different generic breakfast options to omelettes, jackets, salads, sandwiches, pies, meat and veg’ etc. Specials like chilli or lasagna on boards or posters around wall. Breakfasts around £5/6 . Sandwiches or a jacket with a salad about £4. Meat and veg around £6/8 depending what u have. They do a Decent coffee and tea which is a must. Toilets at the back. All clean and tidy. Waitresses are English which is nice. It’s been there for years and long may it stay.

Degraded and disappointed. The lady served me food with a dirty looking steel fork and wooden handled kitchen knife. In the beginning I thought it is their normal cutlers but when I look around I realized that she was serving other customers with beautiful shiny classic look steel forks and steel knives. Why she did served me the food with dirty knife? Is it because of my skin is dark? or am I look like a Muslim?

I've worked at divan since I was 15 and am honest with all my customers, I see what we cook and it's amazing they put a load amount of passion into the food. Don't forget over 80% of food is all homemade. Strongly recommend this cafe.

Spent over £20 on 3x breckfasts, i asked for indervidual prices to be put on the boxs no price recipt or prices on the box. They also forgot a sasuage on my breckfast they probably charged me for. My mrs gave me abit of hers but it was bland so was the bubble and squeek.
