Churchill's Fish & Chips Collier Row in Havering

They have given me old reheated chips twice in a row now. Very disappointing. However the Cod and sausage in batter is always good. No issues with that

This is the second order in a short timeframe where the estimated delivery time kept increasing to the point where I had to phone up to find out where my delivery was.

my sfc was missing & the restaurant said there's nothing they can do unless I come & collect it but I'm disabled so that's why I got a delivery!

I LOVE CHURCHILL’s, the food is delicious and the staff are amazing! Especially the young lady supervisor, she’s great, I will keep coming back here !

Worse. Meal I have had from this shop, food was cold , greasy and onion rings were just like mush will not use them again

the driver arrived with the food box opened . he then told me it was packed this way by the restaurant . called the restaurant they said contact just eat

Very bad ,fish size of large fish ,as well chips are very soggy ,quality is very very poor,as well when she packed curry sauce ,she put fingers in her mouth ,very bad service,and charged 20 £ for large fish

I visited here just before they were due to close, the food was fresh & tasted really nice, the staff were polite & friendly & my whole experience was good. I would definitely visit this chip chop again & will be doing so soon. Thank you Churchills Fish & Chip shop. 👍🏻

Delivered securely packed, hot to the touch, properly cooked and tasty. Disappointed with dip, not worth the price in my opinion.

This establishment needs to be shut - the quality of the food is one thing, the customer service is another! Absolutely shocking and disgusting behaviour from the staff that work there. Avoid this place at all costs - save your money as well as your time. I spoke with the manager about the conduct of his staff & he apologised. Regardless, I won’t be stepping into this place again. The young lady who worked at the counter needs to be trained in customer service. If i was a health and safety inspector, they would have failed miserably!

Very small for a large £16.50. Chips and fish cooked in old oil. First time we’ve ordered and will the last. Not worth the price at all.

system shows as delivered, but nothing has arrived this is about the 3rd time this has happened in a year. the shop confirms the order has left. i think you must have a rogue driver

Absolutely awful!! Husband came in for just a bag of chips wrapped up. Manager asked if he would like salt and vinegar to which my husband answered yes. As he salted them the lid came off the shaker, not thinking much of it ( cause you’d assume no one would sell you chips saturated in salt) and my husband see the manger brush the salt off the counter assuming it hadn’t gone on the chips, this is what he came home with. Totally inedible!!

So I ordered 2 sausages in batter, 1 large chips, 2 rolls. £13.25! What an absolute joke. The chips were put on top of the sausages in the box, so firstly, that's not then large chips as 2 sausages are taking up half the box, secondly by the time I got home the batter on the sausages had gone soggy from the chips being on top. Then I wanted a can of drink (coke zero) £1.65 now that truly is taking the biscuit. So I went into the off licence further along and got 2 cans for £1.50. I can't believe how expensive the fish and chip shop are. Double the price of others in the area. I don't want my food in a fancy cardboard box. the paper is great.

Absolutely awful. Went in just for a bag of chips, manager spilt so much salt on them due to the lid coming off the salt shaker, they were inedible. Who sells them like that!

Chips tepid, fish been cooked some time and would say fish was small

Tracked driver who went in the opposite direction to where we are. Looked like we were the 3rd delivery drop off. Food was luke warm when it finally arrived. Very dissappointed. Worst experience so far using this service. Took 10-15 minutes to arrive.

They must be having a bad day ordered large chips got a regular portion of cold chips smallest halloumi burger and missing both the curry sauce and mushy peas not their usual standard at all.

First time I registered and used today even though I lived local over 20 years. Ordered the lunch menu saver fish and chips and chicken and chips All I can say is wow. Picked it up 10 mins later all fresh made red hot and delicious I felt impelled to write a review because it was so nice and need to give credit where it’s due This is the collier row branch thank you I will be using again. 10 Stars **********

Always and I mean, ALWAYS, bang on!!

Nearly every single thing was stone cold, the savaloy was like it was from the fridge, we chucked that and my mum couldn’t eat her chicken as that too was cold! So disappointed, this is the reason we stopped having take aways!

Great chips. Very well cooked cod (not greasy at all). Lovely sausages. Delivery on time and with a smile. Very happy

Paid £10 for medium cod....was small

The food was awful there wasn’t any cod in the fish it was all hard and crispy and the fish cake batter tasted the same like chicken wings batter chips were ok I ordered here before and the food was good but second time absolutely disgusting the cod all so tasted full of oil and very greasy I will never order from here agin everything went in the bin I want a refund

Our order was incomplete and when I rang the restaurant they had no drivers so we had to go to pick up the item (a pie) - by the time we got home the whole meal was stone cold. No point in ordering take away delivery if you have to go and get it yourself.

The fish and chips were only warm. We ordered 3 medium size cod had 1 large and 2 small roughly. They were all different sizes. Was not up to normal churchills fish and chips standard shame.

Arrived by pedal bike, second delivery according to tracker and food was cold. Box on top was open so not sure if courier had eaten some.

HORRIBLE! Chips VERY VERY BAD,chewy and hard unedible in both meals so binned them! Not the first time its happened. Waste of money. Ordered food elsewhere. Shame as used to be good. Wont be returning so save your copy and paste reply.

Food arrived in good time, well packed, was hot and tasted great. Delivery driver was polite and friendly, and followed the requested delivery instructions perfectly.

Waited 1 hour for food to be delivered. Obviously cold when delivered. I watched driver on map deliver to everyone else with my delivery time getting longer and longer. I want my money back as sadly not fit to eat.

Quick well mannered delivery driver who delivered our food while it was still hot and without damaging it!

Went in the chippy on a Saturday evening and greeted by a young man who was so polite and hospitable however the elder gentlemen wasnt very warm and found hairs in me chips

The delivery was made with such care and good etiquette used.

The older guy who works on a Thursday night was so ill mannered, Ive never seen such poor customer service, wasnt even offered salt and vinegar (is this not just standard for a chip shop). It's almost a battle to buy food! Got the food home and found 2 hairs in the chips. Threw the lot in the bin what a waste of £40. Won't be going back again. Should have gone Mc Donalds!

A couple of reheated chips but otherwise very good

The chips were soggy not crisp and were coated on black grainy stuff like they’d been cooked in old oil. Shame because the food is usually good.

Went in there yesterday evening & I am normally greeted with really lovely, friendly staff..not sure where Churchills got this duo from that were working yesterday around 8pm (weds 25th October 2023)..the woman barely looked up as she carried on faffing about, same as the young guy there, perhaps they were dealing with a Deliveroo order etc..but either way guys, say hello, or "won't be long" SAY SOMETHING!! don't ignore customers .incredibly rude !! Needless to say..I eventually walked out..I surprisingly, kind of got bored of just standing there like an idiot... absolute jokers!! Management, please deal with them, whilst I was being ignored two ladies came in after me & were promptly being ignored as well!!!! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

Ordered near closing time. Fish was definitely not a large one which was very disappointing, as it was very fresh.

Tried again your chips are worse than before which I didn't think would be possible would you like some training in how to cook a proper chip shop chip like you used to serve, complete waste of money put the chips in the bin. The sausage in batter was good at leat you got something right. What on earth have you done to your chips, they used to be proper chip shop chips now skinny chips, not a single fish and chip shop in collier row know how to do proper chips anymore either too skinny or too short or both and lots of little bits off cuts absolute waste of time, i would prefer less but better quality, I won't be ordering here again. Go back to proper chip shop chips.

Chips had too many small crispy bits. Rest of chips poor quality have had a lot better in the past. Fish again I have had far better quality from Churchill's in the past. Fish was a bit dry, think it had been sitting in hot cabinet for too long.

Usually good but last 2 times not so great. Fish and chips both seem like they have been refried, not fresh at all. Chips were so hard my child could not eat them.

Generous portion of haddock and chips - enough to share with my wife, the one meal purchased. Ordered online and food was ready when we arrived to collect. Cheerful friendly staff.

The fish and chips were nicely cooked and the food was tasty, but at 30 quid for 2 large cod and 1 large chips, I would have expected the portion size to be much bigger.

Chips were disgusting burnt and yesterdays chips by the looks of them hard as iron took an hour for order to get here, fish fried to a pulp over done and dry won’t be ordering again.

My review is for just eat and not the restaurant. I will never use just eat again. My food was 2 hours late and the restaurant said this was because they were no just eat available. No easy to complain or get a refund from just eat!! I will never use them again!’n
