After being asked to go to a table a very extensive menu was available, along with Christmas specials. Choosing the waitress took the order. The food was very tasty and hot. Wedges were like that in several ways. They all have a section cut out of the skin side. Guess to ensure cooking evenly. Would stop again if in the area.

I booked Afternoon Tea for 3 here to mark an occasion at the end of July and I'm so glad I did as it was truly fabulous! On arrival, the table was draped with a beautiful tablecloth and clearly prepared for an Afternoon Tea setting. As we were promptly escorted to our Table, it soon became clear that a gorgeous China Teaset awaited us and OMG it was so elegant!! My Mum is Vegetarian and I am Vegan - quite a challenge in any food setting - my Husband is not at all fussy (thank goodness) and we were all delighted with our food which was no only great to look at but delicious, well-laid out and plentiful (even a delicious bowl of soup was included) We were given a variety of choices for Tea and Coffee (I can highly recommend the Blueflower Tea) to everyone's delight. The staff were so very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable and catered to our every request. We all loved it and would absolutely highly recommend it for that special occasion or treat! We'll definitely be back for more! A special thank you to Donnacha, the Manager for his attention to detail and to Donna who looked after us so efficiently!

We had just arrived in Magherafelt and went out fo look around, and possibly find somewhere to have a light lunch. Ditty’s filled the bill nicely. When we arrived the place was almost empty but before we left there was a line at the till, people waiting to place their orders. We had wonderful home made soup and sandwiches, plus a delicious dessert. We happily continued our tour of the town before heading back to our B&B, the Laurel Villa.

Called in for a quick lunch one busy , rainy Saturday , place was busy ,Ditty’s has changed ownership recently and you would know that once you walk in , all new staff , all very young , looked like the owner talking down to them every chance he could , food was ok , new menu not great , place is missing character , missing the old staff that used to be there , won’t be back in a hurry at all , I felt like I was been rushed out .

When I write a review I want to be helpful, both to visitors and the establishment concerned. On my recent visit, being candid, I felt that Ditty's could do better. The floor (at the back of the shop) wasn't particularly clean, nor were the tables. The food was acceptable, though I would have said somewhat basic. The area at the front was brighter, cleaner and more inviting. On a positive note one of the older members of staff greeted us pleasantly as we left. My message to Ditty's would be to clean the floors more often, be more careful when cleaning the tables and the chairs, think about brightening the decor at the back and give a bit more thought to the quality and the presentation of the food.

I visited this coffee shop with my family on Wednesday. My nephew and niece were picking cakes and taking a bit of time as children do, the woman behind the counter said impatiantly "it is like pulling teeth". Visited Ditty’s Bakery in Magherafelt. Good food but no Baristas. Ordered coffees, latte and cappuccino. Milk was scalded to the point that lava would have been cooler. If they would pay attention when steaming the milk instead of gaping around, produces a drinkable coffee. I even said to one of the assistants that if some adult or child had this spilled on them they would have third degree burns. I believe McDonalds was sued in America a few years ago for a similar incident. So get your staff trained before someone has serious burns.

Despite this I am giving a rating of 4 because prices are reasonable and the salads are very good, although peanuts have no place in a Waldorf salad (which is otherwise excellent). This is the café of a popular local bakery that produces a great range of products, some unique. It has a steady stream of loyal customers mainly to take away coffees rolls cakes bread etc. Simultaneously they serve seated customers cafeteria style. This mixture does not always blend well and there is an over familiarity between staff and some customers that detracts from the professionalism that this otherwise excellent business aspires to. With the bypass coming and competition increasing Dittys could well benefit from a refurb, staff training and rethink on its marketing approach.

It wasn't busy and there were a few people sitting at the tables eating but what really let it down was the dirt of the place. Food all over the floor, tables not cleaned, cutlery - hmm say no more. I have eaten here several times. The food is nice if a little overpriced. The coffee is like dishwater! Weak and tasteless! There are a couple of staff members that have been there for some time, they are rude and have no idea about customer service! The ordering system is a pain. Why can't the people who are sitting at a table have waitress service? It would certainly solve the congestion at the front counter. There have been many occasions where, upon finishing my food, I would have liked something sweet. Take one look at the queue and decide against it! Why would I get up from my seat to line up for a bun? The sister shop in castledawson is staffed by the rudest, surliest staff I've ever witnessed, this place is not far behind it. Pity really. Sort your ordering system out, teach your staff to make a decent coffee and train some of them in customer service, then I might return.

She gave him 2 small sausage rolls. Total bill was £5.17. He had £5 with him. She would not give him the lunch and made him walk home (25mins) to return with 17pence. I was ssoooo cross. Could she not let 17p go or take some salad back or 1 of the sausage rolls??? After all he didn't ask for two. She was the adult. Still very cross about this:(

It is in a great location and I recognised the name from my employment with Hastings Hotels were Ditty's oatcakes where a popular choice on the cheese board, un-beatable with a some blue cheese and a sweet chutney!Well...no cheese and biscuits with wine on this occasion, we settled for a Cappuccino and the service was swift and friendly. Our hot drinks were brought to the table accompanied by a little chocolate mint. Service was good and the coffee was amongst the best I have had in a long time!I never caught the name of the young lady who served us but i'm guessing she was relatively new, she should be commended for her great service and coffee making!Great Work Guys!!
