District in Belfast

Went for a morning coffee in district this weekend, terrible experience. The girl making the coffee was exceptionally rude from the beginning - ordered us to stand at the till when we accidentally stood by the coffee machine. No hello / please etc basic manners. Have to collect your own coffee even when you are sitting in - which is left to be collected beside other dirty cups and dishes because no staff were lifting dirty items from any customers tables they then had to leave them back themselves, really quite lazy and unhygienic. The toilets in the cafe look like they have never been cleaned, blood and dirt and toilet roll all over the place absolutely disgraceful. Will not be back

First time trying this place and it was lovely. Food was good and so was the coffee and staff were all friendly. Definitely be back here soon! Atmosphere was good too

Called in on a bank holiday on the off chance that this place was dog friendly... It was so friendly that they even brought home made dog biscuits over to the table for our pooch! Lovely friendly staff, great service and deeelish breakfast. Definite 5 out of 5 from us. Thank you so much. 😊

Go in. Sit down. Ignored by staff. Go get menus. Choose. Go up to order and told to come back in 15 minutes. Place was 1/3 full. Staff were at sea and totally indifferent

Delicious lunch at District today. Fast, friendly service too! My daughter had a toasted chicken sandwich and I had a chilli sausage roll, we both had a bun and tea, definitely recommend!

Terrible don’t go, waited 30 mins for a chicken flatbread where the cheese was cooked so hot that it melted off the sandwich covering the plate and was burnt to a crisp. Bread was also burnt, waste of time.

Waited over half an hour for food that could be described as nothing more than mediocre. Ordered avocado, sourdough with poached eggs. What finally arrived at our table was soggy white bread which was less than half toasted and lukewarm. Eggs were hard. For 7 pounds and being placed on the Lisburn road between many other high end cafes was very disappointing, Won’t be returning and do not recommend, there are many other great brunch options nearby.

Shambles would sum it up. Went at peak time on Sat AM for Brunch, so we were realistic in terms of wait times etc. Waited 15 mins for a table (can't be helped by restaurant and this is not the reason for poor rating). In total, took 15 mins to order at counter, lots of staff on the floor / behind counter, but no one dedicated to orders at the till so had to try and get attention of waiter/waitress, all while queue building up behind us. Informed there would be a 15 min wait for food, this seemed acceptable. We waited 35 mins for coffee part of order to arrive, and a further 45 mins for food to come (80 min wait in total). Had ordered a further coffee in the hope it would arrive with food, it came 35 mins after food was delivered. Asked for water also, had to ask twice more before it came. Highlighted waiting time twice, no action taken. Several other tables also experienced 60+ min wait, lots of unhappy customers and some even left. Food was mediocre, decent portion but ordered avo and poached eggs, yolks rock hard and wasn't even going to attempt to ask for a replacement as would have been waiting for another hour minimum. Made it clear we were unhappy with food / service, staff did not seem to be interested in offering refund or even partial refund. Will never go back.

I ordered a latte. Was told they had just one size, to take a seat and they would bring it to my table. It came in a small TUMBLER which was so hot I couldn’t even lift it. I asked a waiter if I could have a take away cup to transfer it into. No surprise - it only half filled it. First and last visit. Lots of other places to choose from next time in the area.

This place is amazing. Food was delicious and coffee was perfect. Far too many people saying the service is slow - they’re insanely busy and the staff work so hard - they’re brilliant. Honestly can’t fault the place - keep up the good work guys 👏🏻

Listen, the place can be a bit chaotic. But that’s Lisburn road! The staff were lovely, food & coffee was solid. Bit pricy - but you pay for the chic vibe. Avo toast is fab. But left feeling like the glass was half full - standard modern day coffee shop i guess. But will stop by again Bev x

We visited for coffee and waited over 15 mins for two flat whites as the staff milled about and talked to one another and then served a man who came in after us three takeaway coffees before filling our order. Coffee was expensive at £3.40 per flat white so we didn’t expect to be kept waiting for so long.

A very nice space and location, but I can’t remember ever having a more chaotic and farcical lunch in terms of food and service. I met a friend for lunch. We ordered at the same time, but the orders came out haphazardly, at different times. For example, one of our coffees arrived, with no milk after asking for it; the other coffee didn’t come for at least ten minutes more. We asked several times about this. Our food didn’t come out for a long while after this, by which time the coffee was cold. My food, avocado toast with bacon and poached eggs, had just two minuscule slices of some sort of bread, so it really wasn’t worth the £8 I paid for it. I asked for salt for the table for my eggs. The salt never came. Following on from this, we ordered teas and traybakes (I was still hungry after the tiny portion). One tea arrived after quite a wait (with no milk) , but the wrong traybake for me. The waiter left with the mistaken traybake and came back with the correct one quite a while later, but no tea…I asked for this again and my friend asked for milk. The milk came for her, but still no tea for me. Both she and I had to ask at least four times for my tea, which finally came, but with no milk. I asked for the milk and had to wait longer again for that. When I got stuck into the traybake, it was stale and tasted like it had been sitting for a few days. A really disappointing, farcical experience - made more annoying because of the Lisburn Road prices we paid for mediocre food and inexplicably poor service (the waiting staff were very polite, but there was clearly no working of service system, while we were there at least).

Visited District Ormeau Rd today for breakfast - excellent food, friendly atmosphere, great service and value for money. Shall make it a regular

District Lisburn Rd has come on leaps and bounds. My wife and I usually eat out for breakfast/brunch around Lisburn Rd. I would put District up there with the best of them now. Simple tasty food and even better coffee.

I had a simple breakfast of tea and toast (with lots of jam) at this newish cafe. It was all good. Just wanted to give a heads-up to the cafe for not using nylon teabags which leach micro-plastics into the hot water.
