Coffee is rubbish, it's weak and watery and for £3.30 for a regular it's well over priced. Been coming here for years but won't be returning.

We come to Dingles a lot and we absolutely love it here. Whenever family or friends visit, we always bring them here too and they always want to return. Ever since Tim has taken over as manager, the atmosphere has been friendly and welcoming. The previous manager whose name I am unsure of (large blonde lady who always shouted) would often rush me at the till and I often saw her shouting at her staff members, even in occasion i saw her reduce them to tears. However, Tim is always friendly and the staff are always happy, smiling, pleasant and go above and beyond for us. Highly recommend this place, it is very family friendly, food is wonderful and prices are a lot better than many other places.

Shocking ! Lived in Plymouth all my life so been in here a few times , thinking oh just a bad day … no the food is disgusting, my mum had a sandwich that was inedible, my dad and I had a hot chocolate and paid for the cream etc , so when we got to the till and just the hot chocolate, I asked is there any cream , girl behind till said no we haven’t got any , so said I will look in kitchen .. no we haven’t got any we have been busy ! Really !!!! A big place like that doesn’t bulk buy I don’t think so ! I worked in a school I know how it works ! No discount whatsoever just said they haven’t got any and charged the same , don’t bother !!!

The food was average nothing terrible but it was over priced. The way everything is laid out is also not to be described as a ‘restaurant’ and the service we received was literally shocking. Felt like it was dinner ladies giving me my lunch in school. Our server (young lady with pink hair) was so unprofessional complaining about customers taking butter? She also coughed into someone’s food and no one was wearing any hair nets which when you’re serving and making food you’d think they’d wear. I’ve never written a bad review in my life as someone who also works in a shop/café but we came away laughing with how awful everything was!

So disappointed with this restaurant today! My Sister and I on a xmas shopping trip, thought a nice lunch in the House of Fraser would be a friendly experience with good quality food. How wrong we were, Cold, overcooked food served by staff that clearly didn't know about customer service, rude and unhelpful when we asked what the hot dishes were for the day. Felt the atmosphere behind the counter was strained which was uncomfortable. never visiting again, would never recommend.

This was such a pity as it started really well - we called the day before to reserve a table (it was for a birthday) and the manager was brilliant and very helpful. However, our experience on the day was anything but - my partner and I joined the queue for food and waited 30 minutes to be served (I timed it). When we did eventually get to the counter we asked for the allergy book, to be met with a blank stare (my partner is allergic to dairy and onions). The lady we spoke to said we should ask about specific dishes once we got to them. While the lady who served us was polite and friendly, and the chef was knowledgeable, the woman serving drinks was awful - she barked questions at me, literally as her colleages was asking me about our food choices. She continued talking over her colleague and being very aggressive, even while it was really obvious I couldn't answer two people at once and was getting stressed. In the meantime her colleague served my partner roast turkey, but neglected to notice or mention the middle was filled with stuffing (not listed on the label and hidden, presumably to make the portion of (dry) turkey seem larger), which contained onion. Luckily my partner noticed and didn't consume it, or he would have been made unwell. Finally in this entire debarcle, the lady who had been barking questions at me, when she realised I was less than happy at having waited over 30 mins, only to be barked at and served food my partner was allergic to, began complaining to me - quote "you think you've got it bad, you should try being this side of the counter". As I was with family I decided to walk away at that point, but I was very, very unhappy with the entire experience.

I recently visited Dingles Restaurant and had some Tea and Coffee, which were delightful and authentic. The service was top-notch, and I would love to keep receiving such excellent service. The Tea was particularly impressive, and I wouldn't mind having more. Dingles Restaurant is a charming place that serves fresh food, Coffee, and Tea. The view from the top overlooking Plymouth city is breathtaking, adding to the overall sense of relaxation and joy. The staff, from the manager to the assistants, are all friendly, efficient, and well-organized. Coffee and Tea are an integral part of our culture, and I'm confident we will continue to enjoy them for generations at Dingles Restaurant. The natural and authentic Tea and Coffee I had were perfect, and I can't wait to receive more excellent service and taste more of this delicious Tea in the future. Michael

First of all, this restaurant is apparently NOT called dingles, it's a separate business called 'massaralla' or something like that. We were waiting for service at 4.30 for an afternoon tea and found the place empty. We decided to sit and wait, having read on three different websites it shut at 6. That was ambitious, but we guessed 5 on a Saturday, despite what websites said about the opening times. The people who came up to us were incredibly rude. We were told that it's obvious that it's not called dingles, and that there is a 'sign in the lift'. First off, we didn't take the lift. On the way back down I asked them to show us where, but there was no sign in the lift. We also looked at the closed restaurant for signs of 'closed' or 'opening times' but they had none of those either. Considering people were eating when we got there, it was fair to assume that the people who were running it were just on break, hence the waiting. Instead we got yelled at to get out and that we couldn't sit there, having what I assumed was a security guard come over too. We were happy to leave at that point. Never even got to have a drink. Won't be going back. Place was empty anyway like a liminal space.

An old favourite. Tea and Scones in the afternoon. Chips for the daughter which she says are good. In my opinion the tea could be better. I dislike those horrible stainless teapots that leak everywhere. So minus 1 star. But great views. Not busy at...

Had delicious cappuccino, Nutella hot chocolate and two pieces of cake, under £10, friendly staff and quick service. One piece of cake returned as dry and crumbly, staff changed it without question.

Visited today (Bank holiday) at 2.20pm, not busy. Ordered a Turkey toastie, a side of chips and a cappuccino. Well, totally tasteless sandwich, tepid coffee (not a cappuccino), chips were awful- undercooked, horrible taste, in fact I left most of them, and had a terrible...

An old favourite of mine and a nice bolthole whilst having a break from the shopping. Lovely views over Plymouth to enjoy whilst eating. The food isn't the cheapest but it is tasty and filling, with a good selection of hot and cold dishes.

Over 2 hours for delivery of 4 dishes. I could have walked the 2 miles there, ordered it and walked back in half the time. Poor. Update. Delivered wrong main dish, offered a free dish next time, which we refused. They did deliver the correct item 25 minutes later which made it close to 3 hours before my wife was able to eat. Shame because the food was good, however I won’t use again.

The best takeaway we’ve ever had. It’s now our takeaway of choice. The sag aloo is sublime. Bengal curry is fantastic. Really happy service too. Think they are great

I have had donuts, coffee etc from this little food hall, great friendly staff and loads of choice. I had an egg and bacon bap this morn which I enjoyed but could with the egg being runny and whites of egg not burnt and bacon slightly more cooked but still enjoyed it. From the looks of the egg white the pan needs cleaning more. Still enjoyed though, but egg should b runny
