Worst curry I have ever had! I can’t believe a place is comfortable even calling that a curry! TRULY ABYSMAL

Excellent again, this place never fails

No comemos un curry temprano, así que reservamos una mesa para las 9 pm, que fue aceptada. La comida era increíble, pero el personal es tan miserable, es como si no te quisieran. Esta es mi tercera visita en unos meses y nos está posponiendo ir allí porque no nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. Mucho prefieren el Dilshad Blackheath o el Ameena, acogedor y amable personal.

The food was absolutely cold was not enjoyable at all

the nan breads were wrong. 2 plain was sent l. we ordered and paid for one garlic and one keema.. :(

Over 2 hours late, when i rang the restaurant the person was rude and kept sayung its on its way. Then said he had to get off the phone. Absolute joke. As a regular customer i expected better. Never again!

Es ser su propia bebida - que es fabuloso - el servicio era genial y no se apresuró en absoluto - reservar una mesa si hay un grupo de ustedes o tal vez decepcionado - tuvimos un pequeño problema con el salmón crudo que se manejó tan bien y muy respetuoso - sin duda volvería si estamos en la zona como la comida era sabrosa y grandes tamaños de porciones

Meal didn’t come as described. The pathia puri had no bread with it. Staff were lovely.

La comida era excelente. fresco, sabroso, hemos estado dos veces ahora y estamos muy contentos con la calidad de la comida, el servicio en general, y Dilshad es ahora nuestro habitual.

No idea if it was any good. Sadly I had fell asleep and missed the order. Had a voicemail saying there wasn't a safe space to leave it so it was going to get throw away. Shame they couldn't have just left it on my doorstep/left it behind the bin/or even placed in the the bin as it was getting thrown either way. Would've happily risked it potentially being knicked as opposed to being taken away and then being disposed of. May as well've chucked the £27 in the bin myself

Ordered on Uber eats and very pleasantly surprised, food was hot and delicious, also delivered quickly will definitely be ordering again.

Great Balti in a restaurant my wife last visited in 1993! A very enjoyable evening with tasty, spicy food. Recommended!

Not been to this place for donkeys years . It always was one of the best around . Popped in for a takeaway had the chicken rogan . Wow it was best rogan I've had for years . The meal was full of mini chicken fillets that were juicy and tender and the sauce was just delicious . Noticed that people brought in thier own beer which also makes it a cheaper option . Well worth a visit

We have been visiting the restaurant and having takeaway food for many years. The standard of the food is second to none! The Manager, Sam, and all his staff are top of the range! We know of customers that drive miles and miles to re-visit the Dilshad, luckily we live about 3 miles away 😃

This restaurant always delivers on quality food, the definitive Birmingham Madras flavour that has been consistent since the late 1970’s! Polite staff and great value for Money, and the man breads are just the best.

The best curry i have eaten in Birmingham. In the last 2 years i probably eaten here more than any restaurants in Birmingham. It is not expensive and their food is extremely tasty. I usually go for their Chicken Tikka and egg fried rice with keema naan. Their naan bread is really big and tasty, as someone who tried each one of the naan breads the keema is the best so go for that one. It is located very close to the selly oak train station.However sometimes it takes a long time for the food to arrive and after you finish your food they immediately bring the bill which is not nice. All in all a must try for every Indian cuisine fan.

Main orders rather bland mix of ingredients. Onion bhaji poor and overcooked. Naan bread soggy and tasteless

This is an amazing spot to have a great meal before going to the theatre. Service was excellent and the food was simply awesome. Very good prices for the quality and quantity of food for sure, a must eat place, we will be back

All the food ordered arrived cold. We were unhappy about this but never mind.

Not been here for a few years due to moving away, but the quality of food, service and general experience was as lovely as ever. Definitely recommend. Great amount of chicken in the balti, it fell apart and melted in the mouth, tasty sauce, great amount of cheese on the naan and the chunky chips were divine. Poppadoms were crunchy and the sauces were creamy and sweet. A lovely meal in a peaceful, well-decorated restaurant. Just lovely.

Everything was cold not happy never like this normally

The food was cold, the curry was watery, the naan bread was burnt on the bottom, the fries were freezing cold and tasted like they were still half frozen, the battered mushroom were soggy and a portion missing. Food was thrown in the bin, I will never order or recommend this place to anyone.

The menu and food was exceptional and the staff were friendly helpful and very professional. The young woman that looked after our order was so very helpful when enquiring about the food choices. The food was top quality, freshly prepared and extremely tasty. One of the best Indian meals I’ve had and in my top five 👍

Food was stone cold had to warm it all up, no taste at all in the balti and was watery. Delivery was on time but it was freezing cold so not sure what’s happened there. Won’t be going back. Only thing that had flavour was the chilli dip. The chicken pieces are as big as my shoe not sure why they aren’t cut up like normal it’s like as if they’ve just been slapped in the dish

Delicious as always. Best curry in selly oak. Recommend all the paneer and chicken tikka dishes. Also the peshwari naans and sauces are amazing too.

After 30 years STILL a great dining experience! Great food, Great service and a decent price. Take your own booze too! Staff curry, excellent. Fish curry, succulent. Naan, rice, chips and taaka dhaal to die for! Had to admit defeat and leave some!

Pretty sure this is the best curry house in the UK. Family naan is exceptional, tikka masala is banging. I drove 2 hours to get this curry and it was 100% worth it.

Had the madras and it just tasted like a tin of carrot&coriander soup with a little bit of chilli powder. Only plus thing was there was plenty of chicken

Although the food was tasty, it was not very warm and had to go in the microwave. The chicken balti tasted and looked exactly the same as the chicken curry....?? I'm sure they should taste slightly different

All food was cold, I would assume driver did several drops before ours as our order status changed to ‘enjoy your food’ long before our food arrived, which ruined the whole experience. Will not be using this restaurant again

Amazing food! We made a massive order so it was a tiny bit late but obviously that was completely fine :)

I have regularly used Dilshads for roughly 4 years and was really disappointed to find that for the second time, the curry tastes like it has been watered down. I paid for poppadoms and only received 1 that was broken. Unfortunately I shall no longer be using Dilshads and will be looking elsewhere! Due to the fast decline in quality and service, I would not recommend Dilshads and would encourage others to look somewhere else.

Tasteless and cold with bits of uncooked rice, over cooked meat in the samosas, cold buttered chicken and a soaking wet naan bread which in parts was so wet it felt uncooked, best thing about it was the bottle of coke

I've only left a 1* on RS cos I've never actually been to the restaurant so I can't give a fair review regarding the service,bit the quality of food was tasty and the food was delivered earlier than expected so 5* for that. I highly recommend this food shop for delivery. Spot On # AVFC

Soggy poppadoms, anaemic chips and had to re-heat my curry. Other than that it was absolutely fantastic....

Ordered on just eat not their website this time. Be aware that free rice with house specials does not apply on JE, no poppadoms will be sent and you get a specially aggressive attitude on the phone when queried. Years of using the Dilshad has probably come to an end

Lovely tasting butter chicken and meals balti. Garlic naan and chapatis were also satisfying. Will be ordering again from here !

Full of flavour and made to our spice level request. Good size portions and well presented. Very friendly staff. We were sat near the door and the staff tried to accommodate all the walk-ins. Very busy on a Saturday night. It could be expanded and it would still be full.

I left a note for the driver to call me once at the door and he still knocked the door! I was fuming as I had children sleeping downstairs who got woken up from this. Very inconsiderate, unprofessional service to not check the customers notes. Moreover, food was not entirely great, flavouring was bland, rice didn’t seem well cooked. On the plus side; delivery time was great. Will not be ordering from here again unfortunately.

The Best Indian meal i've ever had.Been going for over thirty years and the standard hasn't dropped.

Ordered from Deliveroo, really really impressed with everything. I ordered the Tandoori Mixed Kebab, Tikka Masala, Pilau Rice and Plain Nan. It was a bit sweeter Masala than I’m use too, but WOW loved it. The chicken melted in your mouth and the meat portion was incredible. The Naan came in a bag instead of the usual Foil Wraps, I was conscious it was a little cold but it wasn’t sweaty like you find Naan in the foil bags so whilst eating the starter I popped it in the oven for a couple of mins and it was perfect. Now I will say this was my first ordered, and my experience with Deliveroo is you always get an amazing experience first time. I will definite be ordering my next curry from here I just hope it continues to be this impressive!

We visited for Christmas lunch having pre booked our dishes in advance. Our starters were absolutely gorgeous , but the big surprise was the beautifully presented Kursee Lamb, which was out of this world ! An extremely tender marinated large joint of lamb in a Bhuna sauce served with pilau rice and roasted potatoes. The lamb just fell off the bone and melted in the mouth, complimented by the delicious sauce, it was an absolute triumph. Afterwards we ate some lovely mango kulfi which was just exactly the right sort of dessert to finish. Thanks to everyone at The Dilshad for an amazing Christmas lunch!

Don't know what's happened to this place but it was the go to curry house in sellyoak past 3 times I've ordered now we've been disappointed food quality has gone downhill and delivery times are ridiculous had a message from just eat about 30 minutes after ordering saying food is on the way thats great but 45 minutes later foods still not here bear in mind we live a 5 minute drive away I called the restaurant and was told that he doesn't know why I don't have it yet as it went out "ages ago" when the delivery driver turned up 10 minutes after the phone call I asked him why its taken so long he told me he's only just picked it up from the restaurant obviously someone is lieing food was cold when I got it won't be ordering from here again glad I got a refund from just eat.

Absolutley beautiful!!! Have eaten in the resturant before but was a little unsure about having as a delivery…… how ever food arrived nice and hot and everyone thought the food was delicious and had no complaints what so ever!!!! plenty to go around and generous portions. Five star food and five star delivery!! Shall defo be using just eat and the Dishad again 👍

Food was disgraceful Sheek kebab wasn’t a shkeep kebab at all far to spicy there was 5 pieces of chicken in my curry rice was bland everything was cold I payed for 3 popadoms I recived 2 and that is it the worst I’ve woke up throwing up and and the worst stomach ache ever with tell me it was not fresh probally didn’t help I had to Microwave it will never order from here again

Food was cold and dripping with oil and coming out of foil containers. Home made chips were cold and uncooked. Egg rice was rice with a egg unsure about that. Will not be using again and advise others not too Have not called to explain as I don’t want the age old arguments of I only complain to get refund. I’d rather let them have £27 and others aware of how bad they are. Thx.
