Dijo Cafe and Portuguese-Spanish-Italian Delicatessen in Reigate and Banstead

Music was to loud, food took ages to arrive and when arrived it was cold. A male Member of always insulting other people. I will not recommend this to anyone.

Great place, friendly staff, good atmosphere & large selection of food/coffee always my go to place with friends & family. They cook everything fresh & have a great selection of cakes/pastries & Portuguese treats

I had the special today, which was a pork escalope with gratin potatoes and it was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly with a lovely fresh salad on the side I couldn’t fault it. The coffee was hot and fresh and even though it was busy we were served in good time with all of the staff both friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend a visit to this gem.

Excellent food and very good value! Ordered a beef dish I saw another customer was eating. I was told it’s not on the menu but it’s something they do for their regulars. Very tasty, cooked to perfection. The rest of the family had pork kebabs and a very good full English. Octopus was excellent too! Always reassuring when you’re surrounded by Portuguese customers in a Portuguese restaurant. Has a friendly family vibe and you tell everything was cooked from fresh with love. Can’t believe we’ve lived two roads away from here and only just tried after 5 years living here. Will be a regular from now on! We’ll done team :-)

My girlfriend and I go to this place all the time and it's not right that we haven't written a review! This place is fantastic, all the staff are lovely, everything is authentic. The portions are huge and incredibly flavourful. I had a peri peri chicken, chorizo, egg, and cheese prego role, my partner had a chicken and avocado sandwich. Both huge, both cheap. Top of my list of recommendations in Horley.

Amazing place great spot with a little of Portugal flavours around the corner. Great hospitality and the food was generous with great flavour. We will definitely come back again.

Stayed at friends nearby, taken to Gijo for breakfast, absolutely delicious. Three of us had the had the full English with quality ingredients, good portion size, great value, probably one of the best full English breakfasts I have had in a long time. My other half had a tuna melt which was also very nice. Unfortunately I live about 60 miles away otherwise I would make this a very regular stop for a weekend brekkies, well worth the visit especially if you want a decent full English breakfast.

Amazing choice of hot meals, deli sandwiches, huge selection of cakes and even a mini market to take home Portuguese treats like salted cod and tinned squid. A place with a lot of character and always a great service.

A lovely Anglo Mediterranean cafe with a chill out atmosphere. Ideal for a brunch. Customers are a mixture of locals and tourists of every age. Food is fresh, delicious and varied. Suitable for vegetarians. Friendly and discreet staff. Super flexible as you can ask for food the way you like it. Good portion and reasonably price. Place is sparkling, Baby change facilities available. Wheelchair users accessible. You need to ask for the portable ramp. I highly recommend this cafe. 10 out of 10. Spot on!!!

Absolutely love this place. Owners and staff are so nice but the food is incredible. Went last night ( Friday ) the only evening they are open late for dinner. They have a specials board and I went for the piri piri prawns and clams and it was amazing. My wife had a selection of tapas, which was so fresh and tasty. It is only a small place but you won't be disappointed. It also has the best beer in town, at a very good price.

I always look forward to a nice Americano here at this very popular cafe on my usual Sunday cycle ride from Sevenoaks. DI and Joe and the others are always friendly and the coffee is worth travelling for!

and great on Portuguese food. Try and choose the Portuguese dishes. We went there twice. Had chicken piri piri and beef stifado and they were very tasty for lunch. The beef came in huge chunks. We also had breakfast and the omelette was excellent. Coffee was of a high standard and tray bakes were yum too.

Order from them once a week for my lunch break. They are always so friendly, cheerful and efficient. Best service!

the Title says it all... go to this place for the most pleasant escape from the grim realities of U.K. My partner and I have lived in Portugal for a few years, the Portuguese cafe/bar/restaurant vibes are top of the list. Dijo has it all and even better we have it on our doorsteps a few miles from Gatwick and other surrounding towns. Park up in horley and visit this spot. It’s the best.

As soon as you step in you’re greeted by the owners/staff which immediately sets a good precedence for the visit. I tend to pop in here on my way home from work for a quick beer. Beer is Portuguese, delicious and very well priced. Lovely environment which is usually bustling with locals speaking their native languages and having a good time. Honesty you feel like you’re on holiday in a cafe in Portugal at time. The food is good and very well priced. I also love the deli market they have inside selling cold cuts, cheese and all sorts of wonderful treat. Fantastic visit. Will be a regular no doubt.

I have been coming here for over 10 years. The staff and owners are absolutely lovely. You feel like you are abroad when you walk through the doors! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

Dijo is a great place to go forcoffe, drinks, breakfast, lunch or dinner.You can buy wine, cheese and meats too. John & Diva are lovely people and I would recommend going in.

I went to Dijo yesterday on the 26/10/2018 and I had the worst meal in a very long time. We arrived at a time where the kitchen was nearly closing and they told us it would be fine for us to eat. Their attitude towards us were very quick and rude, being impatient. An example of this attitude was the way they served the drinks, placing them randomly on the table to suit their desire to be quick and get rid of us. Then came to food, the meat we ordered was still cold in the middle and a couple of the bits were frozen. There was also a huge puddle of water beneath the chips and meat and it was just flavourless. Additionally, it seemed like we paid too much for what we got. Overall, the experience at the restaurant was terrible and we will not be coming back.

I love Dijo! I feel like it is quite underrated for what they offer. You feel like you're stepping into a cafe in the Mediterranean when you go here. They offer a wide selection of both British favourites and Portuguese food. I can't say anything about the British food as I haven't tried it but the Portuguese food is really fantastic and the portions are great. I highly recommend this place for a spot of lunch!

Tried this restaurant Saturday morning as I was heading into Horley.

After an early return flight to Gatwick we were hungry and looking for something to eat. We stumbled across it and so glad we did!

Been here for takeaway coffee a few times and noticed the food coming out of the kitchen looked good.

We are regulars at this café because it never disappoints. Service is friendly and efficient and food is delicious. Everything is so reasonably priced and services are very generous. Really can't fault this place which is why we return time and time again.

A perfectly located little café/ bar off the main road in Crawley. I went in with the directors before heading back north after a business meeting, then again, a few months later (most recent visit) before doing the same.

we have been coming here since it opened but have been regulars for about 1 year now and can’t fault them the food is always on point, one of the best things is we take our children and they are always welcome which is rare to find now.

I went here in a group of 8 friends last Friday evening & had a really good night. The menu was varied & very tasty.The staff couldn’t do enough for us & would definitely return.

We walked across this cafe and decided to go inside to eat, was NOT disappointed at all. Servers were beyond welcoming, food was a good portion and delicious. Everything looked and tasted fresh. Affordable prices, unfortunately we were only in town for a few hours only after discovering this place so we could not come back. Would definitely have this be my go to breakfast place if I'm ever back in Horley and would recommend to anyone in the area.

No se desanime por el hecho de que esta bulliciosa cafetería/restaurante/deli está al lado de una carretera bastante transitada. Esto significa que usted puede ver a la gente a su gusto mientras degustan sus opciones de comida mediterránea y tapas. Realmente no necesita una revisión como tal, como con la diversidad de culturas en Horley significa que el lugar está lleno de todos modos con un montón de parroquianos. Cualquiera que tenga un restaurante portugués sábado fuera bebiendo café expresso sabrá a qué me refiero. La comida es buena y el servicio agudo y la ventaja es que dentro hay un deli para navegar por si quieres darte un capricho antes de salir, estuve allí dos veces la semana pasada y se hacen allí cuando vuelva.

A great taste of various foods from Portugal, ranging from the tradicional "bica" (Portuguese expresso), the famous "pasteis de nata" (custard pies) and a great selection of fillings to make delicious panini and sandwiches. Recommended.

I had a nice family lunch last Sunday at Dijos, which was really just posh sandwiches. I did expect a lot more from the menu in the way of tapas or at least a mediteranean flavor, which was missing. Nice food though, and friendly staff.

Good place for a breakfast or lunch. The menu boasts the "best omelettes in town", they might be right - I've not tried omelettes anywhere else in Horley and they're pretty good although could possibly do with better olives. The coffee is good and food across the board seems tasty, fresh and well cooked. The staff are friendly and the place has a good atmosphere, sitting outside on a summer's day can be enjoyable even with the constant traffic. There is a bar if you fancy a tipple and the guarana soft drinks in cans are a welcome and unusual addition. See you there :)

Love this place for take away breakfast, you can sit in a eat but I tend to get take out. Good service and very tasty food, wide range of choice of pastries and other tasty bits. Can't recommend highly enough.

This is a great, family friendly cafe. It's also very reasonably priced.My son loves the all day breakfast, my husband loves the omelettes. I love the piri piri chicken roll. Not keen on anything with mayonnaise here, as they put so much mayo with it. The jam doughnuts are lovely too.

We had a light lunch here just before we went off to the airport on holiday. We ordered Sandwiches and baguettes which were all delicious. There is a wide range of light meals, sandwiches and cakes on the menu. So something to suit everyone. I can't wait to return

Popped in there to see my friends, and you must try the fantastic Portugese Custard Tarts..........makes the British ones so vile! Friendly staff, and they also serve beer. Great place for a snack or light meal. If you are sitting outside it can be noisy and windy as itis right on the corner of a busy road.

we had breakfast at the Dijo and it was absolutely wonderful, clean plates the food not greasy and very well presented. The waitress was lovely as the rest of the staff we will be back for more, thank you Dijo for a lovely morning

Fancied something different for a lunchtime catch up! Dijo is a deli with cafe section. We arrived at 12, and only one table left. As well as the usual (salads, sandwiches, etc) but also nice range of main meals & Portugese Tapas. We went for Portugese fish cakes - very nice & perfect size for a light lunch. Good value, friendly service & packed out by the time we left!

We are lucky enough to live just down the road from this café so are regulars. Service is always friendly, food great and excellent value for money. The draft lager is very nice too! A really great little café.

Before we went in we'd checked the place out on the 'Scores for Doors' Ap and so we knew that it boasted a '5' Hygiene rating. Even if we hadn't known before, they display the fact on the door as you enter. The staff were cheerful and friendly and the food was lovely. I only had a bacon and brie panini but it was perfect, and served with very nice skinny potato chips. An important fact is that they serve great coffee; I indulged myself with a triple espresso. At the payment counter there is a display of very very tempting cakes and pastries. If they taste half as good as they look then they'll be heavenly.

I often visit Dijo when I am in Horley. Their omelettes are the best I've ever tasted and everybody makes you very welcome. In the warmer weather, sit at a table outside and enjoy their excellent hospitality.

Coffee here is great Prices seem to vary on who you are! I had a 4 shot espresso macciato. On the menu a double was £2.20 extra shots £0.60. I WRONGLY expected price to be £3.60Charged £4.60When I asked the owner to explain he said,"I charged you for 2 doubles"When I asked why he didn't charge me for a double plus 2 extra shots he became surly and verbally aggressive I asked him why he advertised extra shots on the menu. He said for people who want a coffee with extra shots. I asked wasn't that what I ordered.Shocking behavior, unbelievably bad serviceI've worked to the food and beverage industry for 20 years and I'm AMAZED at the glowing reviews about this place. I was appalledI will never visit again

We have been visiting Dijo's for a few years now and have found the standard of service and quality of the food always excellent.We are always made to feel welcome and we would without a doubt recommend it.

Dijo is owned and run by a friendly Portuguese husband and wife team who are always ready to welcome you with a smile. The food is good quality café fare with a Portuguese twist! You can get your full English no problem and all the normal sandwiches /jacket potatoes/omelettes etc but there is a specials board and section in the menu with a Mediterranean influence. A word of warning thought, portions are huge! They also have a nice cake selection and sometimes do a special evening such as Valentines Day this year which was spectacular value for money and a very pleasant evening.

The staff are very, very friendly and they serve many Portugese delacasies. Some unusual fillings in the sandwiches also. They are licenced so serve many not usually seen drinks. There is also a mini shop where you can buy lots of goodies from Portugal. Have been twice and will go again. Try the special Portugese Custard Carts, 9can't spell the real name!) they are to die for!!! It is on the other side of the Town on a busy road opposite the Kings Head Pub.

This cafe has a varied menu that suits all tastes. Does the best omelette in town and I love the Portuguese soft rolls. Devine.

Lovely atmosphere and very good coffee. There are lots of nice goodies on sale in the Deli too! Will be returning soon for sure!
