Di Maggio's in Glasgow City

The price was really good as the food quality was excellent. The staff were really attentive too. We went back a second night during our stay as it was in our budget and was so good. Also recommend the wine.

Disappointing visit I mistakenly booked for two not three. Place was empty but you'd have thought I'd ran over the waitresses dog she made such a big deal of it. Food average and small portion Won't be back

I've eaten before and at other restaurants, but was disappointed. I asked for the gluten free menu, however the waiter said there wasn't one but "I can tell you what you can have" and gave me two options from the menu. 🙄 Very disappointing from previous experiences where there was a menu with many options. The waitress took pity on me and then retrieved the allergen folder (which had small print that there WAS a gluten free menu!) The food (prawns as a starter and rustica pasta) was delicious, but being made to feel the awkward diner because they couldn't do something as simple as print a menu of options is never a good look.

Greted on arrival by the most miserable waitress (long blond hair in ponytail, glasses) - the most miserable person we met in three days in Glasgow. In fact, we never met another miserable Glaswegin - they were all fantastic. She also served us equally miserablly - not what she said but how she said things and her overall attitude. Food very average. We'd never go back there.

Very disappointing visit this evening. Incorrectly charged, long wait for food and the kids eat free offer is a sham. Despite the A board outside advertising kids eat free it finishes at 4. The pasta was mediocre and we were overly charged for drinks. Not a great Monday evening. Shame as used to be good!

Haven’t been here for a number of years and decided to give it a go as we were going to the nearby concert hall. Pre-theatre menu is reasonable value and has a good selection of options. Bruschetta was tasty (although it had clearly been sitting in the fridge as it had a chilled air about it), pizza verdure was fine (pizzas not as good as I remember unfortunately). I asked for spicy oil but the waiter never came back. Pasta with chicken was ok. Service was friendly but we had to ask for the bill a couple of times as the staff seemed to have disappeared. Given many of the folks in the restaurant were going to shows and the place emptied about 7pm I’m not sure where the staff disappeared to. Overall, it was fine but unfortunately not as good as it used to be.

The main access is through a revolving door. The only door with disabled access (which I need) was locked. When I asked for it to be unlocked the staff member allocating tables shouted abuse at me.

You can't really go wrong with Di Maggie's.. all of their venues are consistent. We chose from the pre-theatre menu which gives good value. The food was ok.. but not amazing. Service was fine, but maybe a little rushed. Only real issue for me, the tables are a bit crammed in and too close to each other.

I've used this restaurant plenty of times in the past but hadn't been for 3 or 4 years and was disappointed. One of my fellow diners was happy with her meal but it was the lasagne that others in the party had. Quite frankly, it was awful. It's hard to believe that an Italian restaurant could get lasagne wrong but this missed by a mile. It was very salty and the tomato in the sauce was overwhelming, almost tasted like tomato puree. The bechamel sauce was drowned by the tomato sauce and there was little evidence of cheese. Service was a little slow but the staff were pleasant. We didn't complain which we should have done but we had a guest with us and didn't want to make a fuss when his food was fine. I would still go back as I rate Di Maggio's but I'll not be having the lasagne again.

The meal was excellent however the air conditioning was on and it must have been on very hot. I was there with my daughter and two grandchildren as we were going to the panto and we were really too hot we didn't enjoy what would have been a lovely meal. We did ask one of the waiters and he said that it was hot because there were so many people in the restaurant but we were literally underneath one of the air con units and it was blowing hot air on to us, nothing to do with how many people were in. This was really disappointing as we couldn't wait to walk outside in the fresh air!

Fab restaurant, great staff. Everything was perfect. They do various specials depending on time of day including pre theatre. Really enjoyed our meals.

We turned up without a booking and were immediately seated. Staff couldn't do enough for us, very helpful and attentive. The food was very tasty and arrived quickly. Good sized and clean disabled toilet too

Very average experience. I had chicken as a main from a set menu. It was dry - I thought it would be marinated but it was plain chicken with sauce on top! It was served with chips as opposed to mash which was stated in the menu. However, when I queried this, mash was brought quickly.

Didn't have high expectations as last visit to a different Di Maggio's branch was pretty poor. However, the service and food here was really good, and I was pleasantly surprised. Handy for bus station. Would return.

Pre theatre meal - restaurant nice and bright waitress gave us our menus and took drink order quickly but we had to wail almost an hour for food! Lasagne wordt I have ever had poor quality meat and sauce like tinned tomato soup! Garlic bread looked lovely but was tasteless not even a hint of garlic. Di Maggios now part of chain including Cafe Anduluz, The Citizen and Anchor Line where clearly the only consideration is profit. I love going out to eat with friends but food is definitely getting poorer sadly spoiling the experience. Waiting service was nice and friendly and was the best thing about the evening. Clearly understaffed in the kitchen and the poor quality food means I will not return. Not cheap no excuse. So handy for theatres too shame what they are offering customers.

Service pretty poor. Had to ask twice for our drinks. No offer of Parmesan for our pasta.Had to ask for a spoon to eat the spaghetti. All things that a great Italian should do without thinking. Penne Rustica dish had the poorest quality sausage that was inedible. Finally you are packed in like sardines. The staff though were polite. Certainly wouldn’t go back.

Poor quality food. Sauce tastes like something out a tin definitely not freshly made. Waitors avoid eye contact. Very disappointed. Seems to have gone downhill. Should have went to Sarti.

Dropped in one evening on an overnight stay in Glasgow. It was pleasantly peaceful on a busy Saturday night in Glasgow and the service was excellent: the waitress went to great lengths to ensure that my wife's meal was compatible with her dairy intolerance. And other members of staff seemed to know about this when it came to time for desert (and were just as helpful). And the food was enjoyable too so we went away happy.

Booked this on the DRG website - all very efficient! Points adding up! Matthew booked us in and ensured my code was quoted when billing up!! I was there with a friend who had never been to Glasgow before so was anxious to give her a good impression of our hospitality! I need not have worried!! We were well looked after by all staff, who were very pleasant and helpful, despite the resturant being extremely busy!!We chose the pre theatre menu, I had the bruschetta with copious tomatoes and my friend had the soup - both delicious! We both had the chicken, one with potatoes and one with chips, although a slight wait, when it came the chicken was very moist and tasty. A liquor coffee finished off our meal. We both had a glass of the house wine which was very acceptable. I cannot fault the service or the food!! Very good value for money!! It was good to see this branch of Di Maggios open again - we shall be back!!

Excellent venue with very quick, professional service and tasty food. The servings are quite big. I had to ask for a doggie bag, which was no problem to them. I needed a receipt, but didn't remember to take the printout showing my order and individual prices as well as overall. I went back and they produced a copy for me. I was most impressed with this. Couldn't fault them at all.

We didn’t know that this di Maggios had been closed for over three years just opening two weeks ago. The food is uncomplicated Italian, the service speedy and the surroundings comfortable. What made it a more memorable meal was the chat with the friendly manager.
