Had a great dining experience tonight with fantastic service from Kai, will definitely be back!

Kai was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was very busy but we never felt rushed or forgotten. Great server!

We have been going to ask Italian for over 10 years and the food and service has always been great.the staff always go over and above to make sure you enjoy your meal. We were there yesterday and Magdalena did everything to ensure we were happy. 5 STAR service.

Kai was our waiter for the evening, he was a young lad that had only been there for a few weeks but he couldn't have been more pleasant, the restaurant was very busy which is good to see and we all had an enjoyable meal, keep up the good work guys 👍

I just ordered online from this restaurant and didn’t notice they were closing in less than 10 minutes, but the staff were super friendly and were willing to take me as the last order although they had to close later than usual. Not only they took my order but they were super warm and welcoming.

Ask is a great venue for a pretheatre meal when visiting Concert Hall in Glasgow. Lovely staff, delicious food - great fun to see chefs setting fire to the food in the kitchen! Spectacular!! Loved our visit.

Was looking for a quiet lunch on my own away from the bustle of life and chose ASK Italia, Dundas Place, Glasgow, as the food has never disappointed me. Also, the service from Roberta was exceptional.

My partner and I love coming here. The food is beautiful, great atmosphere and reasonably priced.

Would have gave no stars if I could.worst Italian I have been to poor service and waited nearly 40mins for our starters.bread was burnt when they came out and now the mains.mushroom sauce for chicken was stone cold along with the 1piece of freezing cold stem broccoli.could have let them off if it was busy but there was only 5 tables in total.defo won't be back or recommend.save Ur money and go else where

We ordered a prima pizza and risotto for 3 people. Both were very delicious. 3 of us were fed very easily. We asked for cola, soda and two teas as drinks. We paid £44.60 in total. In our opinion, the price was reasonable. We recommend you to taste its taste.

Always friendly staff and great food

Absolutely shambolic service, the only saving grace was the food. After arriving at around 5pm to a fairly quiet restaurant (over a dozen empty tables) it took 25 mins to finally be spoken to by a member of staff, had there been a big queue this wouldn't have been as much of an issue but there was 1 group and 1 person looking to make a reservation ahead of us. It took so long that 2 groups behind us actually left. The server did eventually go and clear a table for us however another server gave it to a reservation who turned up early. Eventually we were able to place our order for food and drinks, which were lovely and came promptly unlike the removal of the empty plates which took 20 mins. We asked to see a dessert menu but were forgotten about. After going to look for a member of staff myself I tracked down the menu and then had approach a passing member of staff to place the order. The dessert sat on the pass with kitchen calling service for a good few minutes before we were finally served and were Luke warm. Had we not had ongoing travel plans and were killing time, I would have made more of an issue as 2.5 hours from start to finish is a bit of a joke.

Hi it was very busy I had booked,for 18.00pm As i had a concert at The Royal concert hall.At 19.30pm Wee got our meal at 18.57.And had too leave at 19.10 So very disappointed

Great place for a nice and relaxing diner. The food was delicious, good portions sizes and reasonably priced. The service here was excellent. Magda, our server, was attentive without being intrusive. The entire staff worked seamlessly together to create a great dining experience. We never had to ask anything twice!”

Did some work here and ended up with a free meal. Eaten lots of Italian dishes before so expectations were high and they sure did not let me down, the pasta Al pomadoro was absolutely sublime, lovely rich sauce, dry fresh ingredients, piping hot and 2 massive balls of mozzarella. I also had a huge slice of garlic bread which smelt and tastedamazing, I watched the lass make it from scratch so it’s as fresh as fresh gets, and just as I like soaking wet through with strong garlic butter and lots of herbs. I didn’t pay for this dish but I sure am coming back here again (will have to pay this time though) Even though it was free and a takeaway the presentation was impressive and no half measures on the portion size or the taste. Shout out to all those that work there, it’s one clean and tidy place and they all work super hard, keep it up, be back soon.

Myself, my husband and friends had a wonderful meal tonight and on Monday. The only difference was that tonight the restaurant was really cold and uncomfortable.

Arrived at 4.15pm as we had a 6pm concert to attend across the road at the concert hall. We were a party of 5, we waited 10 minutes and had to ask to have a drinks order taken. Then after waiting almost 15 more minutes again we had to ask if someone would take our food order. So slow service, vastly understaffed on a weekend just before Christmas. Starters arrived and were cleared, delicious. At 5.15 we mentioned to the server that time was getting short, to his credit he checked and we were told 5 mins. 20 minutes later we mentioned it again, food came at 5.45pm, we cancelled dessert and asked for the bill. We bolted down what we could. To the credit of the restaurant we were given a generous discount for our poor service, although we didn't complain about the staff, they were lovely but struggling. We missed the start of the concert. Food and staff lovely, but so very slow, get more waiting staff and cooks.

Dreadful experience. Queuing for a while with numerous other customers despite booking. Table not ready and once sitting waited a long time to order drinks etc . Manager very rude. One cocktail had to be returned as there was no alcohol in it and all starters returned as overcooked and uneatable. Waitress did her best to apologise and main courses were eatable but nothing special. Waitress did tell manager and she advised the manager would come and speak to us - this never happened. 25%deduction was given off the bill though.

We both got the bus to Buchannan bus station as we were going to the theartre royal Matinee performance. This restaurant is very convenient right next to the staion. We had ordered from the festive menu, 3 course it was delicious and I would definitely recommend it.

Expensive for no reason ,don’t get pasta. the portion is tiny and badly presented. You don’t get what it says on the tin basically.

Really poor carbonara. Small portion and not seasoned at all. Honestly, you'll get better carbonara from the frozen section in Iceland. A disgrace to Italian cuisine.

The meal is word cross and so working in ask Italian very nice people women's working in ask Italian so happy and the staff a fantastic so happy to meet them and a lovely place to go to very prod them meal is fantastic and cooking is in ask italian so happy 😊 so me to i love ask italian place in and the people women working is a fantastic working and stuff here to and so happy 😊 to meet all happy

Incredibly poor experience sadly. Huge 'Ask' fans and the restaurant where we used to live was our 'go to'! . We drove into Glasgow specifically to go and couldn't have been more disappointed. Service was slow with it taking ages to even get seated despite a very quiet restaurant. Should have taken this as a sign! Some items on the menu we wanted not available. Starter didn't arrive at all, some food was not served hot and was returned, and even the basic chips were simply undercooked. Some members of our table went hungry. After complaining, and presumably in recognition of the awful experience, the bill was waived. Unfortunately it isn't really though because we had vouchers for the restaurant which expired today and currently wasting even more of our time thinking about who else could use these at short notice (in a different restaurant of course) so they don't go to waste. We would certainly not return here and as a final aside I would recommend some attention to the toilets ( no toilet paper and one completely blocked loo). On a positive note, our server was apologetic however this didn't mean our evening was spoiled any less. You have to do better than this!

We visit Ask Italian in Glasgow with some friends who are vegan and our 9 month old. There were a lot of vegan choice and a great kids menu with options for little ones. The food was lovely, it was a very relaxed atmosphere and the service was fantastic.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my awful experience at this restaurant. While the staff were nice, that’s where the positives end. We waited an eternity for our main food – it took so long that we eventually had to leave! When we inquired about the delay, their excuse was that their cooker wasn’t working properly. Seriously? If your cooker is broken, maybe it’s time to shut down the restaurant! It’s ridiculous to expect customers to wait over 30 minutes for their food, especially when the place is supposed to be operational. The service is terrible, and the prices are way too high for such a poor experience. Don’t waste your time or money at this place. There are plenty of better options out there!

came in for a graduation dinner, the place was dead. It took nearly half an hour for starters to come out and when they did they had forgotten someone’s order. We then sat without any drinks for nearly 40 minutes. When the mains finally came out they had again forgotten someone’s food and the dishes were cold as they had been sat so long. Most of the pastas were awful, Watery and had no flavor. we didn't bother sending it back as we had already waited almost an hour for these in an almost empty restaurant. We were then served baileys which was curdled in the glass. After all of this they then added on a £35 service fee on top of a £300 bill when most of the food couldn’t be eaten and the service was terrible.

I’m not one to complain, although service was extremely slow. One drink should not take 20 mins when the place is dead. I also ordered a pizza which was far too thin, dry and cold. (Like my sausage).

Can wooden cutlery be added to food order? It’s disappointing when you are in a hotel, order food and it comes without cutlery

No lasagna at lunchtime, they forgot to bring water to the table, the portions are small even though I'm a small eater. The waitress who spends her time on her phone while wandering around the restaurant, not great.

We ate in this restaurant before a show, we went into the restaurant and ordered through the app. Drinks came quickly, the garlic bread and mushrooms starters took ages to arrive. As we were running out of time we asked the server could we have the main course straight away. She said certainly, and said she had contacted the kitchen. We waited until there was 7 minutes before we had to leave. It came, we gulped down what we could, we were starving, and left most behind. The server said she would reimburse half of our meal as we didn't have time to wait for her to give us money back. I would have been impressed if she had, but if course this hasn't happened. We wouldn't recommend this place, service is shocking, good mediocre.

I placed the order just before 4pm. the delivery time was changed 3 times. I called the restaurant and they said the food was ready but a driver still wasn't allocated by just eat. food was delivered round about 1840 which is over 2 and a half hours wait. I ended up having to give the kids another dinner. the app wouldn't let me cancel the order ssince the food was already prepared. I get that sometimes it can be delayed but it was the long wait and the fact that I couldn't cancel it.

Great place for good Italian food. We had the fettuccini bolognese, lasagna and spaghetti al pomodoro. Very tasty and massive portions. We also had the thick cut chips, a few were hard in the middle but apart from those couple they were very nice. For dessert we had the sicillian lemon tart and the mini momenti which lets you choose 3 mini portions. We had the berry sorbet, mini chocolate brownie and Italian biscuits. An excellent meal, very good service and we had a very enjoyable lunch.

the food is nice but don't bother ordering online from here, i've tried 3 times and each time something has either been off or missing! calling the restaurant after is no use either, today part of my meal was forgotten resulting in me having to pay £20+ for a small pot of pasta and some dipping sauces! last time the tomatoes dipping sauce had gone off and was bubbling and smelled so sour and the first time, the order took 3.5 hours to get to me and the drivers car broke down and after calling the restaurant, they were so unhelpful and refused to send out fresh food or contact the driver!

Today we ordered several dishes including Carbonara , but we wanted it to be served without meat - they did it, but also completely unseasoned, tasteless.. just pasta served with sauce, zero aesthetics and taste. Lasagna was burnt. I strongly advise against it. On the map of the city of Glasgow you can find more interesting places with tasty cuisine, appropriate service at the same price.

Asked for some parmessan to be placed on or with food, none came. Not sure what I am supposed to eat it with either. Not even a serviette. For nearly £20 thats ridiculous.

Great food this evening, attentive and courteous staff and great atmosphere. The restaurant was busy and the food took a little while for the order to be brought to the table but was definitely worth waiting for.

Not a great experience. Food took nearly forty minutes to make an appearance and wasn't very good when it did -- the pasta stuck together and the meat was in clumps. Offered free drinks but were on a time limit so the staff clearly knew they'd botched the service. There's better and cheaper pasta around the corner.

Food poor, very late despite asking for prompt service. Risotto rushed as ticket « lost ». Still crunchy rice, lasagne barely edible x2. Had a nice meal there earlier this year: this was a never again visit.

Ordered from Uber Eats with expected delivery after 15-20 minutes. The restaurant only gave it to the driver after 1 hour. Pepperoni pizza was cold and tasteless, courgette fries were burnt and cold. The chocolate fondant described as ‘melt in the middle’ hasn’t even been heated up and was stone cold. I also requested cutlery as I am staying in a hotel, cutting pizza slices with your bare hands isn’t enjoyable. I have eaten at many Ask Italian restaurants in Manchester and Birmingham and it has been delicious so it must just be this restaurant specifically with poor service.

Came here to get a pizza before having to travel. Was sat quickly and ordered instantly. Not very busy at the time we got there (possibly 5 or 6 tables with max 4 people on a couple. Ordered 2 pizzas and 2 drinks. 40 minutes after ordering we saw the first dishes being brought out. This was a concern for us so I asked the staff member if we could get those pizzas to go as we had a bus to catch. Waited another 20 minutes and still no food or sign of it. For desserts to be brought out to a table behind us (and hour for their desserts) This caused a bit more concern so I got up and told the lady we have to leave so can I pay for the drinks so we can leave and cancel the pizzas. She gave us the drinks for free and apologised for the wait……this shouldn’t have been something I got when I had waited over an hour for food, with no communication of a delay etc. pizza hadn’t even been started for us. Let me go back to the fact there wasn’t more than 15 people in the restaurant and a max set of 5-6 groups. Would have been our first time dining here, definitely our last attempt.

Unfortunately we seemed to be dining just as a show had finished at the Royal Concert Hall across the road. Staff were under pressure and unable to cope with the demand. Service was very slow and meal was average. Staff were very polite and apologetic but the overall experience was poor.

This has been my favourite go-to place in the centre of Glasgow. My visit on Sunday September 1st will be my last. There was a big show on at the Royal Concert Hall but the service in the restaurant, which is across the street from the Hall, was VERY POOR! I waited 45 minutes after placing my starter order and apart from a glass of wine and the ubiquitous limonade, nothing happened. I asked a waitress twice if my order was coming, and was told she had passed on my request to the manager. The manager didn't seem to have much idea about anything. I saw her turn away 2 food delivery guys without giving them their orders. The tables furthest from the cooking area were neglected. Other customers were waiting as long as I did, but eventually I said clearly to the waitress I would wait five more minutes then I was leaving. And I did.

I like to dine at Ask Italian Port Dundas Place whenever I go to the cinema in Glasgow. The vibe is relaxed, the service is good, and the food is reasonably priced (for Glasgow). It is possible to eat outside on rare days when its not raining in Scotland. My ideal meal is Mixed Doughballs, Fettucine Bolagnese and Sicillian Lemon Tart. I love Hard Lemonade or Mojito Mocktail if I am driving home. A Double Espresso to finish obvously. Bellissimo!

A disappointing experience....... On a cold and wet August night the dining room was cold with some diners wearing their coats in an attempt to stay warm. The service was painfully slow throughout the evening. They were clearly understaffed and stuggled to deal with, at most, the room being only 50% full. The food was, at best, average. The Verdure chicken dish was cold, the beef pasta bland and the gnocchi needing chilli oil to bring some life into it. The deserts took an age to arrive and were basic and somewhat small considering the prices being charged. The staff were friendly and polite. I can̈not see why we would return.

Have been there a couple of times in the past, always quite satisfied and the food was good. Server just vanished after bringing the mains. My pasta was cold, server never came to ask if everything was ok... in fact they just never came back at all so ended up using the QR to order coffee... which didn't come. Went looking for the coffees and the server who brought it was extremely combative and rude. Would not go back.

Ordered a linguine con frutti di mare, which is a mixed of several seafood cooked in tomato & white wine sauce with pasta. It was great though large portion will be better. The cocktail is passion fruit martini, perfect.

We were not allowed to dine in for lunch although it was almost empty. I used to be a fan of this resturant two years ago. However, Glasgow branch employees are not welcoming.

We booked for a 5pm visit on Saturday, the staff were very nice but the service was slow and as the restaurant wasn't busy we wondered why, we both had mains then we ordered dessert , I wanted the Sicilian tart with vanilla ice cream, first person came and told us they had no vanilla ice cream, I said ok will just have the tart,next person came and said they didn't have the tart either, pretty unbelievable that an Italian restaurant would have no vanilla ice cream and no Sicilian tart, took another desert but left most of it, we won't be back

The starter was great but the main meal just seemed like spaghetti in tinned tomato juice with 2 blobs of mozzarella on it. I’ll try again as I love Italian food.

Had a fantastic lunch with the family at ASK Italian. Great variety of food and drinks, was so hard to choose what to eat! Settled on the manzo piccante, and was not disappointed! Excellent service as well, the staff were great. Will definitely be going back.
