Devran Restaurant Stoke Newington in Hackney

I ordered devran special as i always do, it took 15 minutes to come. Although, as my mum opened the food a old ruff smell came through and it turned out to be old expired white rice which was very frustrating. As my mother works in the kitchen too she knows the smell. Half of the food that touched the rice was smelling too and that was a £68 wasted. I was very disappointed as we always buy from devran as it was nice but after this review i have to think twice to buy again!

really nice people to be around and very communicative people. elisa would check up every 5-10 minutes to check if everything was okay and there was no issues with anything at all. i will definitely be back soon

I came with my wife and we were very happy with our experience. Great customer service and the food was amazing too! The drinks and the food came out quickly and we were seated right away. Complimentary Turkish tea came after our meal too

Firstly, they were not very friendly towards the customers. I ordered chicken and they sent meat. I wasn't satisfied at all.

Great portion size, the food overall 5 stars. I ordered the lemon and lime mojito and mixed kebab. Love the complimentary Turkish tea and bread.

Elisa was great advising us on what to get and how much! She kept checking on us making sure we are good and the food was wonderful.

Elisa was exceptional, the lamb Sarma Beyti was profound and I can’t wait to come back again!

Prices have rocketed over the years but you still get the same good tasting food however, I don't order or sit in to eat often due to that (cause that means I have to pay for the whole family which is pricey ;-0 )

The service was and is exceptional, as always, the food was amazingly good, in taste and appearance as always. Glu was also amazing along with the rest of the team. Overall I enjoyed the experience and service along with the food. After literally scraping my plate, I enjoyed the tea, which was oh so refreshing. I will come back as often as I am able.

The food is good, the sizes are big and the Service is good. Such a nice and welcoming experience and the owners were super caring. We have been to a few restaurants around London and this was the best one we have been to, by far.

Absolutely fantastic experience. They catered for a Xmas party. I picked up and they were friendly and gave me a Tea while I waited. All staff were smiley and welcoming. I had a lot of bags and a member of staff helped me carry the bags to My car. Food was superb. I had the mixed grill; the lamb donner was my favourite and so tasty. Would highly recommend

Vibes was absoluteley amazing 🤩 The bread with hummous and spicy sauce for choice was so good, i forgot to save my appetite for the starters and main.🙈 The food was absolutely delicious. And with takeaway for choice allowed me to eat more bread 🤣🙈. Dennis was really great at customer service, communication and understanding. It was my niece's 2nd birthday, and there was a lot of us. Timing couldnt have been any better everything was on point and very accomodating. Highly reccomend

nfortunately, I had a disappointing experience here. The moment I walked in, I felt judged and unwelcome. The staff’s attitude seemed cold and dismissive, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I didn’t belong. I tried to give the place a chance, thinking EVEN they were NOT busy. but the discomfort lingered throughout the meal. It’s a shame, because the food was decent, but the atmosphere made it hard to enjoy. A welcoming environment is just as important as good food, and sadly, this restaurant missed the mark for me

I usually order take away but tonight visited here for my niece’s birthday party. Fantastic service. Great food and atmosphere. Was served by Denis, he was brilliant at making sure everyone was comfortable and happy. Great service from Denis! Will visit again! Would recommend to everyone 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I saw a sign at the door saying 2.50£ each for lahmacun. Then I ate two and they charged 11£. Why? It's nothing, I'd pay 20£ even if it was 20£. But why are they lying? Or why don't they warn you that if you eat inside it's 5£.???

Donna lamb meet very cheap and tasteless thay give you salad Bred rice sauce so you think your getting a deal the meat is poor quality cheap tasteless and thay are very over priced selling rubbish food my wife is turkish she was shocked and said next time we will go Harringay green lanes which is better please avoid this place no good. Will rob you rubbish rice saled Bred is cheap so you expect the meet to be good thay gave got away with it for a long time but this is not good food.

Very expensive for what it is had chips doner meat salad a coke chip we're small in the small bowl had a coke plus service charge thay stick on you i did sit in but not worth £24 20 should of gon over the road to best kebab and gone home to eat would of got same thing for £12 will not be going back very over priced regardless of siting in what I had should be more like £17-£19 and thats me being generous feel robb been to better places cheaper food not worth the Mayfair price's thay are way over the top its not the best quality meet thay try be friendly when sitting in as thay no thay gonna take ur money will not be going back. This place is amazing, from the seasoned bread that's complimentary down to the lamb chops, bulgar wheat and salad. Everything was so delicious and well seasoned. They even remade my passion fruit cocktail yo my liking as well. Cannot fault this restaurant or their staff can't wait to go back again 😁

I've had a few lamb shanks in Turkish restaurants in my time but this kleftiko tops the list...the lamb was so tender it came off the bone easily... everything bout this meal was very good...from the main to the mash...even the salad 😀 service was quick...the restaurant was very busy as usual...defo recommend...

At first I thought this was really expensive, but the portions are huge and the quality is top notch. You could honestly split one of the mains between two people.

Always enjoy coming here. Very local and enjoy both ordering from home or going there. Amazing food and love the cocktails. Week days I find are not to busy but weekends are busy so maybe book ahead.

Food was ok. One thing was, man who took orders was taking money and then making up salads and cutting up bread without washing his hands. Either he just takes money, but if they are short staff then he should wash his hands before handling food - not hygienic.

Love the food here 10/10 I’ve been to so many Turkish restaurants but this one had good food. The kunefe was amazing too. But I will only one to this branch for sujata she gave us the best service and was so friendly and made sure we had a good experience here. A beautiful waitress from Nepal was so welcoming to us when we visited the restaurant last week. Nevertheless she was so polite and kind to us helping us with menu and the recommendation of foods from restaurant which was actually pretty good . We were amazed seeing her handling all the customers all together so well. I recommend Devran and specially for her service.

My partner and I were in the area and opted to eat at this place as we’ve heard about it from friends before. Entrance - Very easy to find, big sign on the main road. Welcoming. Food - They had a lunchtime menu on, starter and main for £11.50 which we thought was a bargain only the choice of starters in my opinion were very poor. The starters are basically the free salad you would get with your main meal. I wish there was meat options for the starter as little bowls of salad isn’t great. The mains were lovely, we ordered lamb donor, it came with rice and more salad. Chilli sauce too. Cooked from fresh very tasty and filling. Drinks - we ordered two cocoa-colas with a slice of lemon and they were lovely! Decor - Absolutely beautiful! It was very modern and the plates matched the decor which was nice. Atmosphere - it wasn’t busy as it was early but still a nice atmosphere overall. Cleanliness - Very clean and tidy, including the toilets could not fault it. Cost - £33 in total which is an absolute bargain!! Customer service - Everyone was nice, friendly & attentive. Anything we needed was done within minutes, great staff! Overall - 10/10 - the food was great, the drinks were great and the staff were even better!! I look forward to returning, thank you!

This has always been one of my best Turkish restaurants since before the pandemic because the food was so great (nice flavour and prepared well). Recently I have realised the service is going downhill the food is quite bland and they make a lot of mistakes with online orders. I think today is sadly the last time they’ll see me.

I just had soup so İ can’t tell a lot for the food. It was a bit too salty for me but that’s very personal. Besides the food I have seen a lot of bad toilets but that’s really not working. It looked like no one had touched it for a month!

We tasted the delicious grilled dishes of Mr. Vedat, the Grill Chef, who gave us a very nice welcome and a nice feast last Sunday. He is really a wonderful person, he has a smiling face. I will visit you again when I come to London. I will recommend you, Mr. Vedat.

Visited the restaurant recently as always the service was great. The food was banging and I found out something very surprising the whole time the brother that was seven us I think called Hakan who is the boss no problems such a friendly smiling. You think he works there, not like our business owners very humble guy very humble talent and very good service is very good for family as well. I will highly suggest and highly recommend for people to visit with their families. Everything was great. Hope to see you soon bless

We had a gathering of 25 colleagues here on a Sunday evening. We had the back area all to ourselves. We had 6 platters for four and a grilled sea bass. The platters, the grilled sea bass, the salad, and the mezes looked and tasted great. Their toilets are in the basement, but there's a disabled toilet on the ground floor. I would definitely recommend Devran.

I was pretty excited when looking at the menu because of one item in particular "Iskander kebab", so that's what I ordered. What I got was a tradgey. A single ice-cream scoop of yogurt placed on top on slightly warm diced up kebab meet, no presence of tomato sauce and greese just leaking at the bottom with barely anything resembling a base of pide to asorbe the liquids. To add on some background context, Iskander kebab. Iskander being Alexander the Great. If you served such a foul thing to Alexander the Great I'm convinced he'll just spit on the chefs face.

Forget about local guys comments,, I'm Turkish n know what is kebab..we were four over there and 3 of us ordered #iskender kebab# and a HALLOUMI WRAP as well. After waiting around over 30 mn 3 iskender serviced but no Halloumi around. After compaining ( in about 10 mn) finally its meet the table . Those iskender was disaster.. I never ate such mess named iskender kebab. It suppose to have a sliced turkish bread (called pide) bottom of the kebab and should be most delicious part of the kebab because of soak of butter dripping down . Not even in your dream! it was bone dry , harder than chick peas.. 🤮😡😡

Went to celebrate an 18th birthday. Such a good vibe and great food! We had the platters and lovely cocktails. Staff are friendly and attentive. Was packed last night as it is a popular venue for birthdays. Local and reasonable for your budget and good size portions!

2024 - 2 stars. Food quality and quantity has been decreasing at this establishment. Went here and the food portion for the Lamb Beyti has decreased (see picture) and also the meat was overcooked. The highlight of the meal was the salad…. The service was great and nothing to fault. Fast service and friendly. Would have given it 1 star without the service. 2018 - Would give it a 3.5. Nothing amazing about this restaurant. There’s so many Turkish restaurants to choose from in the area. You need something unique to make you special. Service was good as restaurant was empty. There were more staff than customers. It was a Friday night. Yes it was cold outside but no rain. So there must be something wrong.

It was my friends and my first time getting Turkish food and I 100% recommend Devran. I went on a the weekend later in the evening and service was amazing the staff are very friendly and make you feel comfortable and welcome. The food was absolutely delicious the portions are quite big and you get your moneys worth. Plus the complimentary Turkish tea at the end is really nice.

We were greeted with a hello followed by a smile when we entered. Gul was very helpful in taking our order and helping us choose a good option. We wanted to make sure we picked a halal drink and she helped us which was very nice of her☺️

I went to Devran Restaurant yesterday afternoon (7/4/24) to celebrate my sister's birthday. We walked in and were greeted with warm smiles from all the staff. I ordered the family special platter and was exremely happy. The food came out quickly, the meat was succulent and juicy, the bread was so soft and tasty (my son gave it 10/10). The staff were really friendly and very accommodating and displayed great customer servuce. We had a great experience and can't wait to visit again. I would also like to acknowledge Iyaa who went over and above with her customer service. She was so helpful and funny. Iyaa also helped cut the cake and take photos. Thank you to all the staff at Devran Restaurant for adding that special touch to my sister's birthday meal.

I celebrated my birthday at Devrans with family. The food was in abundance and so juicy, flavoursome and succulent. Our waitress Iyaa was wonderful and gave such good table service. The welcome we received from the staff was warm. The food was reasonably priced. I really enjoyed my meal and the ambiance. Would recommend Devrans and would definitely return.

This place is so disgusting it has no taste in any of food, the meat was raw and smelt I couldnt eat it I ended up just leaving it. I told the workers and they didn't even give a discount for the food I didn't even eat it was waste of my time and money. I wouldn't recommend myself and any of you all to go there.
