Lovely food - so nice and hot - Have always had good service

salty, dry dishes , we are left hungry. arrived nearly an hour late.

Ordered off of deliveroo, got the meal for 1 and chicken korma with chips, came to £28 in total and it was amazing! Was meant to be for 2 people but could’ve fed at least 3 if not 4, the portions were amazing and the food tasted so good as well as being very hot, would highly recommend and order again.

Waited over an hour and a half to receive a phone call from management to say it will be another 40 minutes over (2 and half hours for 2 curry’s ) . When I then said that it was an absolute joke and if it’s cold I will be sending it back he laughed and canceled the order . Still waiting the refund to my bank card ….. joke of a restaurant joke of a manager

Website changed,. not easy to pay. Obviously picked a night with a different chef curry not so good the meat was very chunky, the lamb very tough & samosa had no taste - Will not order on a Tuesday again.

Honestly this is probably one of the worst curries I've had in a long time.... Ordered last night for the first time... (chicken madras) which was a complete disappointment all I could taste was lemon juice and no other elements of the dish also their base sauce within the dish seemed to have lentils in which definitely should not be in a madras it was actually horrible also the chicken was so dry.... (Chicken tikka biryani) was actually disgusting the rice was just horrible so sticky and it was not chicken tikka in fact the chicken tasted like it was on the turn probably the worst biryani I've ever had straight in the bin, the vegetable curry that came with the biryani was also a complete disappointment great big vegetables that was abundantly obvious they've come from a frozen bag very watery and no flavor. Also minor issues no complimentary poppadoms and one maisley bag of onion salad. I rate this place out of 1 to 10 a (1)

We Tried something different and we were not disappointed. The Jaipur was as good as it looked and probably a little hotter than expected. The Shatkora was superb and not as hot as i thought it was going to be. We would certainly have both again. Once again the samosa's were very spicy & lovely with the Pink dipping sauce, The Roti are always good,

Great customer service with regard to previous missing item! Replaced very grateful ! Onion bhajis nice n crispy ! Keema naan soft and flavourful ! Chicken Ceylon with extra bits was nicely spiced and overall the whole meal was gorgeous ! 5* review and well deserved ! Also delivered with a smile ! Thank you Desi

We have been using Desi for the last couple of years. It’s always been really really good, but last night was sadly terrible. The food was tasteless - sauces bland, biryani tasted like plain rice. Really odd and unlike anything we’ve experience so far from Desi. Hopefully they can sort this out.

First time delivery from here and we were not disappointed the food was excellent

The food was okay, the chicken tikka starter was really mild, the mint sauce wasn’t fantastic and the pilau rice was almost like plain rice. But it was delivered on time.

Rubbish service arrived with box open and leaked all on the bag and refinished to do the order again

Vindaloo was good, coulda been a little more spicy imo. GF liked her mixed grill. Sensibly priced and delivery arrived on time. Portion size was fair and enjoyed the meal. Would order from these guys again.

First time ordering from here and I wish I could order again tonight! Food was delicious, an OK about of chicken in the jalfrezi, the sauce was so tasty and had a nice kick. Onion bhajis starter was oily but delicious and the pink sauce that came with it was so refreshing. Bombay potatoes were standard and tasted great. Chips were as expected although the portion is fairly small. Only downside is the keema naan really didn’t have much keema and could’ve been mistaken for a normal naan.

A real treat a true Dansak lovely and tasty - and the Jalfrazi was good too - love the samosa nice and spicy - a very good meal - Always good service and very friendly drivers

Generally the curry was fine but the Shami Kebab was burnt and not very good very tough to eat.Have had Shami Kebab from different take aways and they have been enjoyable and very tasty. Like I said the Naga Lamb was good overall.

Very good quality - loved the samosa's and Roti excellent = Unusual curries - obviously different chefs have their own versions of the curries - Was hotter than normal - different kind of Tikka Masala, and hotter in spice and the Dansak wasn't sweet & sour and had no lentils -it was different - nice in temperature

Tried a couple of curries I’ve not tried before. Both very tasty and excellent quality. I made a mistake with my order but nice man at the shop sorted it out for me. My go to curry house

I'm not sure I go as far as the best curry in the world , but it was very very good. Great portion sizes, fabulous taste - I couldn't fault it ! Recommended and will return

Order was set to 'ready to collect' at 21:05. Got there, wasn't even cooked until 21:40. Ordered a lamb jalfrezi and garlic naan. The bag containing what was supposedly my order had a chicken jalfrezi and no garlic naan. All in all ripped off. No attention to detail, lack of care to fulfil customer orders. Will not be ordering here again.

Ordered on just eat, part of the order didn’t arrive (second time this has happened). We called straight away and the lady was very apologetic and said the rest of the order would be sent straight away. 50 minutes later it still hadn’t arrived and the rest of the food was now completely cold. We called desi again and someone else answered the phone, very grumpy and said the delivery driver wasn’t back yet so the order would be sent whenever he got back, no apology. Won’t order from here again

Ordered from here for years, never had any issues We order vegetarian dishes and they are always consistently great, the tarak dhal is really nice with lots of garlic. They are very friendly when you call and when they deliver Definitely worth a try I live in Brighton my whole life this is by far the best curry!

The food was excellent, very tasty and fresh, I personally like Indian food but this one was the most delicious one I came across, it has been recommended to me by a friend, I was very pleased that I did. I think it is the best Indian takeaway in Brighton and Hove. The delivery was in time as we expected on the App. Very affordable compared to others.

This place needs to be shut down. It has a 1 hygiene rating and my curry had pasta in it

Was good but got rice instead of naan

I've ordered from here countless times but recently the quality has seemed to slip - my most recent order left me on the toilet! I've just checked their Food Hygiene Rating and can see why - 1/5 Major Improvement Necessary. Such a shame as Desi is one of the few places that has Paneer as a default protein.

Delivery was ok, but the special fried rice just smells like perfume, it completely overpowers it, it never used to be like that. Everything else was fine

I ordered a vindaloo, called them and asked for it to be a little spicy. Man on the phone said “chef! vindaloo extra spicy. she wants to fly” i laughed. when it was delivered delivery guy said “vindaloo very spicy ☝🏻” and walked away half laughing. I laughed too. took my first bite and nearly cried. not because it was really spicy but because i have not been to a single place in england that will serve me something like this. it’s beauty. it’s so spicy my face was red and i have brown skin. it was the best thing i’ve eaten in a very long time. i enjoyed it. thank you very much. legends.

My Garlic Chilli Chicken didn’t have any chilli.

Had the Naga Curry and Prawn Puri, both of which were delicious. The Bombay potatoes were missing, but the manager was so apologetic and kind that I was sent them and some free poppadoms immediately after. Highly recommend!

Really lovely meal from Desi, again :) would love a little less oil in the Methi but all round a great dinner. Thank you! Also the app won’t let me say you delivered 15 mins early…bonus!

First time we ordered from here last night. Delivery was ment to be an hour. Chassed this up twice to be told another 10 mins and then after that we was told he wasn't sure as the driver didn't have a phone to make contact on. The food did finally arrive and was very disappointed. Poppadoms were Chewey and hard to get thew. The food was not worth the wait. Very disappointed

Love the food from here! Exactly like the Indian food made at home. They even gave us some free rice with our meal, when we hadn't asked for it. Very kind and tasty service :)

Delivered late with inconsistent messages from staff at the restaurant about where it was. Curry was ok but was sent a plain nann rather than the garlic one ordered and the popodom was stale and soft.

I asked for a tikka masala and I received just a vegetable curry :(

The food was alright but it was way too salty for my liking. I had the Chicken Shatkora and unfortunately I would say there are better Indian takeaway places in Brighton. The saltiness had me wanting to have a drink after only a few mouthfuls, which was disappointing.

Delicious. Since moving to brighton from Tooting, I’ve found most Indian takeaways a bit bland and don’t really hit the spot. This was good. I had vegetarian and everything tasted fresh. The cauliflower still had a little bite. The chilli cheese naan was great, nice and spicy. The delivery man was very friendly too. I’m definitely ordering again.

I was missing 1 portion of rice and the chicken curry tasted like there was a kilo of salt in it, really disappointed

I usually have great food from desi and order multiple times But tonight it was unenjoyable I had my usual (?chicken passanda) minimal chicken with a runny sauce!! Not nice However the staff were very helpful and did send a replacement

Food quality was good in general and was freshly prepared but it lacked seasoning which was a big let down. Delivery was quick. No cutlery added even though we opted for it.

Odd yellow pilau rice, no extras (no yoghurt sauce thrown in) Ok but not the best!

Always been very happy with the food, but theres often at least one thing missing from our order (past 3 occasions now). The restaurant have always send us the extras, but usually another hour or so later by which time everything else is cold.

Their version of pilau rice, is in my words, tasteless with not even an inkling of salt at best. It's just yellow, no flavour at all. The rice also smells like it wasn't washed properly and thus still has alot of starch. Otherwise the stews were good and the delivery time and service were great.

Delicious - arrived with a lovely delivery man, the food was boiling hot and absolutely delicious - we will definitely order here again and 100% recommend them

Ordered a takeway with friends we were visiting on a busy Bank Holiday weekend (we couldn't get a table for 8 anywhere in Brighton, so decided to order in at their house instead). Food took a while to come, but it was worth the wait. Lamb Rogan Josh was really flavourful, as was the chicken dish (can't remember which one it was). Sag Paneer really excellent, as well. Would definitely recommend the food from here, it was lovely.

I ordered food over an hour ago and didn’t receive the order at all even though it said it had been delivered. Not best pleased about this.

Food was a little late, restaurant explained they where busy. Glad I waited as the food was delicious. Will definitely be ordering a curry from desi again. Was so yummy
