The food is delicious and the people are lovely- I dropped my box by mistake and they replaced it. Really nice visit, definitely recommend!

Great Food, miserly portions. Perhaps it was because it was the end of the day, perhaps it's the cost of living crisis, but the portion of food I was given for over £8 tasted great but left me hungry. Compared to @AddisTaste (another favourite of mine at Greenwich Market) Desi Food is poor value for money. I won't eat from there again.

I went to Greenwich yesterday with an Indian friend. We stopped to buy lunch from Desi's. We have eaten regularly in restaurants in Brick Lane but we both agreed that this was THE best Indian food we had tasted. The samosas were bursting with vegetables. We had the tastiest Saah Aloo ever. The food was freshly prepared and served with a smile. I simply cannot find the words to express how wonderful it was. I thoroughly recommend this company.

I visited the Desi Indian Street food stand in Greenwich. The Chana Masala was really good, and the Lady who gave me the food was kind and friendly. Overall great experience.

Anu and her team kindly made a selection of Desi street food for my cocktail party: aloo tikki, pakora, samosas, Channa, Pathiri. I had 25 guests and EVERYONE loved the food!! It was GONE by the end of the night!!! Will definitely be asking Anu to do the food next time too! Fabulous quality food and so fresh. Thank you Anu. You made my party! Xx

Whilst out shopping at Greenwich market my partner and I stumbled across this little Indian food stall. Before I continue, to remind you it’s a food stall so don’t expect a five star dining facility - these five stars are relative to a similar set up and based on the food and service. There are no seating facilities here. Anyway, to continue - from the queue size, we expected good food. I ordered a curry meal deal, one meat (chicken) (£6.00) two veg (dhal and chickpea) and rice, whilst my partner ordered vegetable samosa chaat (£6.00). As sides we had two potato pakora (£2.00) and two lamb samosas (£3.00) First off, the lady took our order, gave us the lamb samosa and asked us to wait whilst she prepared the pakora fresh. She then served the curry meal and the chaat. Whilst waiting and eating the lamb samosa we were so impressed by the lamb samosa starters we asked for an additional 4 x samosa (£3.50) and 3 x onion bhaji (£1.50). She offered to fry these freshly for us. Our meals arrived; the first to come (she was the only person preparing and serving) was the curry dish. I gave it to my partner to hold foe me whilst I collected his chaat dish. After a few minutes it arrived and I went to give my partner who had already eaten more than half my curry!!!! He said it was delicious he couldn’t help himself. We ate the remainder with the chaat then collected the onion bhaji and lamb samosa extras we bought. All I can say is this - the potato pakora is the best I’ve ever eaten (and I eat a lot of Indian), the chicken curry portion was small but it was incredibly tasty and for me (I’m petite) it was fine but for someone bigger it might me too small. The chaat (I tasted some) was a combination of spicy and crunchy deliciousness. I would most definitely order it myself. I did miss the usual tomato and onion salsa that I have with it but it came with coriander and yogurt which was tasty. I saved the onion bhaji to eat at home later but when we got into the car the smell was captivating so i bit into one (whilst my partner was driving) and ended up eating all four!!! Yum!!! I also had another very tasty lamb samosa. All in all, a well deserved 5 star for this place (and you can see by my reviews I don’t give them away easily!) despite this very difficult times, the woman served us patiently and diligently, taking the time to thank us for waiting and reassuring us that she would be making part of our order freshly. I will definitely return next time I’m in the area!

There are one or two really good food places scattered around Greenwich Market, and this is one. Home cooked by two Indian ladies, but served today by a "student" helper as the ladies took a well deserved rest at the rear as late afternoon drew in. Spinach and potato was splendid, and chicken with mango was also good if a little light on the mango but deliciously tender and creamy. A good portion of rice with good sized portions of the "main" dishes too.

Greenwich is at its best when they have a food festival in swing but the bread and butter is the market and this is about the best of the food stalls. Other stalls look fantastic but rarely deliver: the one that displays molten centred Scotch Eggs and gives you a rock hard rattle instead, is a prime culprit. Desi Indian Food on the other hand delivers on looks, smell and taste giving you just the right amount of heat into the bargain. If you're unsure, ask for a little of everything. Spinach is fresh, not the tinned variety and goes well with the chicken which is moist and tender. Lamb is soft and properly spiced while the chick peas are nicely cooked without being too soft and as good as I'd make myself. As authenticity goes, it beats most local Indian restaurants hands down without the tiny tables or outsize prices. True, you'll be standing along the wall but as street food goes Greenwich Market is a great place to try a little bit of everything and offers a great deal of browsing with your meal. The ladies running the stall are polite and ever cheerful, and unlike a few of the other vendors aren't stingy with the portions or the flavour. Please, do go and try it and warm your spirits and stomach.

I use this place quite regularly for take a away curries. Only once have I had a bad, if you can call it bad in that the curry was slightly burnt but edible.

Great food and service! Very welcoming and attentive staff. Food is good quality and very reasonably priced. Take away is available at 10% discount to eat in prices. Plenty of parking outside. Best to book in advance for weekends.
