Denny's Seafood Restaurant in Bromley

Great ambience and good service in a quirky location. Not keen on slightly over cooked mixed veg with fish dishes and the escargots were not great. Otherwise, a good experience.

Been intending to try this restaurant for a long time and expectations were high. Bit disappointed with way the visit panned out. After a short wait for our prebooked table to be made ready firstly were disappointed to find it was dressed with a single very sad wilted white rose which we asked to be taken away ….no replacement was offered. Also noted the numerous wall displays were very dusty. The only choice of bread was a single slice from an uninspiring white French stick and the starters were skimpy. Dressed crab was served in scallop shell with much more brown meat than white and would have liked some brown bread with it. Expensive at nearly £12. Mains were a skate wing which was fine but other dish Lobster Thermidor was very small and not worth the £38 cost. Vegetables lacked any flare and consisted of bland new potatoes, green beans, carrots and cauliflower. All were slightly undercooked to point where couldn’t cut the cauliflower with the supplied fish knife. After the mains we were still hungry and opted for the most substantial dessert Apple Strudel which was ok. Staff seemed were pleasant enough bit seemed under pressure throughout the night. All in all for £150 expected a lot better experience

First visit to restaurant and had high expectations after favourable recommendations from friends. The restaurant was very unique and had a great ambiance and the staff really friendly However the food I our view was at best very ordinary. We had starters and mains My starter was seafood Pancake with creamy cheese sauce - which in presentation and taste was at best a supermarket ready meal. ( and possibly was) It did not have a pancake but in my view was a ready meal scraped out from the original Packaging and blasted in a microwave as it was lava hot had very little fish content and the cheese sauce overpowered any fish. For mains I had a fish risotto which again appeared to be a boil in the bag Tomato risotto with a prawn and some mussels added on top - again arrived lava hot from microwave - my partner had the seafood paella - again in our view another pocketed boil in the bag taste and presentation - with a splattering of a few prawns and mussels thrown on top. Really disappointed and certainly did not meet expectations - far better local restaurants offering better quality and taste at better prices so Will be a while before we consider returning in a hurry

We visited this very quirky, lovely small restaurant 3 days ago. The food was excellent as was the service. The scallops wrapped in bacon were delicious as was my skate. Beautiful wines too. Will definitely be returning very soon.

The moment you step from the platform into the restaurant your experience begins. The decor is great and you are met by helpful smiling staff. Then comes the difficult part. Choosing from all the dishes offered on the menu, which are amazing. You really are spoilt for choice. Luckily we had Tez our happy, friendly waitress for the evening. She couldn't have been more helpful. Tez helped us make our choices and recommended dishes that turned out to be spot on. The food was well presented and tasted even better. Cannot fault anything about the evening. The food, the atmosphere and the staff were perfect. We will definitely be going back. High recommend Dennys. AAAAAA

Everything about this place is like stepping back in time - and all in a good way! Food, staff, decor, music all top notch and all on the doorstep of Cislehurst station. Good portion sizes and highly recommend the garlic snails, seafood paella and the rack of lamb. What's not to like? Nothing! We'll be back!

Absolutely first class restaurant. Service, menu choice and quality. Could visit each day of the week and have different starters and mains - and I am certain each would be triumphant. Blown away and will definitely be back for more.

Went to Denny’s for the first time Saturday night and what a restaurant ! You walk through the old waiting room door and inside is completely unexpected with fishing memorabilia everywhere. The staff are very attentive, offering you drinks and making you feel welcome as soon as you sit down, and the food is amazing. We had a Dover Sole and a Skate and the portion sizes were huge! Will definitely be returning again soon.

We came as a family for my Mother’s 50th birthday and had such a brilliant time. We were a party of 10 and the staff really couldn’t do enough for us, they were so accommodating. The food was delicious, full of flavour and visually looked stunning. The cocktail selection was great with a good variety. Overall we had such a fun evening, will definitely be retuning. My husband and I came for an evening out on Saturday, the restaurants tucked cozily away in the station and upon entering it’s absolutely gorgeous. I had the grilled lobster to start and my husband had the coquilles st jacques followed by us having the garlic king prawns and skate black butter capers for dinner. Our deserts were both homemade tiramisu, honestly the best I’ve ever had. Overall the food was the best fresh seafood I’ve had, the atmosphere was great and service was fab. Will most definitely be returning.

Food was spot on when I went on a Saturday night along side the attentive service with plenty of knowledge about the menu. Lovely food would recommend.

My wife and I went for a date night, very quirky and quaint. Was a lovely bubbly atmosphere, great service and great food. Couldn’t ask for more, will definitely be returning with friends and family.

I used to like Denny's a lot but our recent experience means I won't go again. It took 15/20 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink, we had to ask for menus, my starter was icy, my companion's chips were very greasy and generally the service was very poor. My companion was paying and said he'd not pay the optional service charge. We weren't asked why and the waitress took our unfinished wine away. As I say, I won't be going again.

We booked in advance for a family celebration and they actually confirmed the booking electronically. When we arrived they could not find the booking so put us on a table around the corner from the main restaurant near the toilets and the cupboards they frequently used. The table was isolated from the main area and there was a frequent flow of people trailing to and from the toilets. The food was very bland. They charged for a bottle of wine instead of a glass and when they changed the bill they charged an extortionate amount for a very small glass of cheap wine (the prices per glass are not shown on the menus). The staff were not at all friendly. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs!

This is the sort of restaurant you’d be sad about if it closed, it’s always been there and hopefully will always be! The food is great and the staff are wonderful, it’s personal to them so they go out their way. Would highly recommend

Great place for fish lovers and for a special occasion. We came here to celebrate a big birthday and I loved the old school charm of the restaurant and serving staff in black and white uniforms. Very well mannered professional staff. Food was great - our only slight disappointment was the Cornish crab was tasteless and had perhaps been frozen. We’re big Cromer crab fans and maybe that’s our benchmark (eating it freshly caught too) but the oysters were great as was everything else. Not cheap but seafood isn’t. Will definitely return

We were taken by friends who had been recommended Denny’s. We were not disappointed, the food dishes all came promptly and we’re as expected of good standard and portion size. Staff all seemed friendly and were other diners creating a great atmosphere. Two small minor negatives from my perspective were that the music was a on loud side and the cheese served with the biscuits tasted it came from a bargain supermarket.Would I go back? Very definitely.

I love seafood, that is one of the reasons I enjoy going to Italy and Spain. So, when I first read about Denny's, I did not want to have too high expectations, to avoid disappointment. To my great surprise, at Denny's I found lovely seafood dishes, amazing customer service and a very enjoyable ambiance. We were lucky to get a table on short notice, usually they are booked 2-3 weeks ahead, so thank you to the people that cancelled so that we can get that table. The restaurant clearly specialises in seafood dishes, and they have a large variety of starters, mains, as well as deserts. We tried the mussels, the lobster salad, the seafood soup and the seafood pasta, and I can say they were all great dishes, perfectly balanced, perfectly fresh and tasty. I am not an oyster fan, but I saw many guests around us having oysters and they were very happy with them - plates went back to the kitchen empty. Even the deserts were perfect - the Cheese platter had a lovely, quality selection, the chocolate gateau was exquisite. There is also a very nice selection of wines, that compliment the dishes perfectly.Last but not least, the staff there is amazing, great customer service and very careful and friendly people. I have already planned my next visit, I will be looking forward to that.

My partner and I visited on sat evening. We have been going here for years and it never disappoints. The fish is absolutely amazing and the prawns are biggest you will see anywhere but so very tasty too. My partner had fillet steak and said it was cooked with perfection. He dines regular with clients in City and says the steak was better than any top steak restaurant and a fraction of the price. The staff are amazing. They know how to give a good service without being intrusive. We have already booked for new years eve. The atmosphere was fab too. If you have never been you have missed a real gem of a restaurant. Outstanding restaurant. The whole experience was fantastic, it feels like you are dining on an old boat due to the decor. It’s really done up nicely. The staff are just lovey and very welcoming too. I chose the lobster thermidor which was do delicious COVID measures are in place with staff wearing masks and visors, however one table of 4 was positioned within a stones throw of another when there was a free table they could of sat at to allow social distancing.Things to improve on: lighting, would have been nice to have had dimmer lights and candles to make a more romantic ambience and secondly it was a shame there was a screaming baby in the restaurant at a dinner setting. Kind of kills the mood when you’re having a nice romantic date night.Over all it was really lovely and I’d definitely recommend x

We was told about this little gem of a restaurant in chislehurst and omg did it blow us away! The waiters and staff are so friendly and have a great knowledge about the food they serve. After what seemed like forever for me to decide what to eat I finally chose to have the Zeurula! Absolutely delicious, I would definitely eat this again. The starter was gorgeous too. I will definitely be heading back soon to eat there.

In memory of a good restaurant. I have never experienced or had such a dreadful service I had on Saturday night. We were given a table right by the entrance to the toilet , having previously asked for a table upstairs three weeks prior to our visit. Our starter took over thirty minutes, our intermediate dish never turned up. When I raised my concern I was disappointed with the response. Needless to say won't be rushing back . What has happened to a once good restaurant .

What has happened to this wonderful restaurant we have been coming for 30 years? Dreadful service tonight. Booked well ahead Asked for a table upstairs as usual. Given a table downstairs next to the toilets. Waited over half an hour for starter. Another 30 mins and our oyster course had still not arrived when we queried it our main course was brought to our table. We said still waiting for our oysters. The waiter was rude and we entered an argument about the service. They took the main course away and promised our oysters. Not acceptable as this gave us just 50 mins to have our meal before 10pm. So at this point we walked out. I don't think we will be returning to this once excellent restaurant.

So nice to see chilled setting in these troubled times. All tables plenty apart but staff were so nice. Love the quirky decor and quirky setting considering its a station waiting room. Food was excellent and good value. Bottle of bubbles for our anniversary and a nice chat to the guys as we finished our meal. Keep up the good work and we will try and be back soon.

Me and my hubby went here for a delicious meal, the lobster was really nice and they save getting messy by removing the meat for you and putting it back in the shell, the steak was cooked to perfection and was also delicious 👍

Loved the food, service and decor. There aren’t many seafood places around here but so glad Denny’s here. I especially love the mysterious entrance to the restaurant through the station.

Denny’s is a gorgeous family run restaurant, as soon as you walk in the atmosphere is warm and the staff are friendly and professional.I was recommended the monkfish cooked in creamy coconut sauce with strips of scottish smoked salmon, I can honestly say that it was beautifully prepared, cooked and presented; and I enjoyed every part of my meal.The Denny’s seafood theme runs consistently throughout with its quirky crab cages on the walls, the magnificent origami boat napkins and assorted paintings.I would highly recommend visiting this gorgeous establishment and exploring their wide variety of meals. I know I’ll be back.

Went to dennys on Saturday on first night of opening since lockdown and it was fabulous. The food was amazing and the service was first class as always. You wont find a better restaurant than dennys. We cant wait for our next visit. Would highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant to anyone as it never disappoints.

This place does what it says on the tin. The most fantastic selection of seafood. Recently celebrated a friend's 21st here, thankfully just before coronavirus struck the country! Amazing staff. Wonderful selection of fresh fish and seafood. Great location at Chislehurst Train Station. Small wine list dominated with French wines which I dont find interesting or attractive. Effcient amd friendly service. Relatively small premises and consequently tables a little close together- for me.

Valentine's day weekend was celebrated at Dennys, and the starter and dessert were fantastic.seI had a fantastic starter seafood pancake which was to die for & my other half had the house special that lacked some seasoning.My other half had a house special lobster that was very good, & I had the sauted monkfish cooked in creamy coconut sauce.The only downside was that the potato's and vegetables were not enough as we thought that we would receive for each of our meals, as a pose to sharing.The deserts were very good, & all in all my girlfriend & I utterly enjoyed our evening.The lovely touch for the restaurant is that the entrance is a standard railway station, then you open the door & the restaurant is straight ahead.There is a lack of space in terms of the tables, but overall we both enjoyed our evening and would recommend as long as you are prepared to pay a little more for you fish.

I live in SE London and really only come to Denny's as a bit of a treat which is wrong, as this place is exceptional. From the appealing, quirky location inside the train station old ticket hall, to the delightful ambience and furnishings, to the superb menu and friendly, efficient staff, this place is first class!!I recently took my girlfriend and two friends for a joint birthday meal, and they were overwhelmed to say the least. It was a surprise for two of them, and when we got a taxi to the train station they thought we were getting on a train. As there are no windows looking in from the doorway; Denny's really is a hidden gem. The look on their faces when I opened the door.....So all in all, Denny's is outstanding in every way. Even their Irish coffee's and all other variants (Baileys, Calypso etc) are superb, but the staff are all super-knowledgeable about the menu too, and can happily adapt a meal to suit your tastes, with no issues.Book a week or so in advance as Denny's is very popular with the locals; many, many regulars go there. Enjoy!!

Had to send main back , was given a new dish but all four of us were disappointed which is a real shame

Went Saturday night, to Denny's, quite busy most tables were full if I have one minor point, it would be the space between our tables, but I fully understand the situation. Service was a bit slow, but they did on each occasion aplogise, for that, and we understood that they were busy. The food was excellent and really enjoyed the crab and prawn cocktail starter, again main dishes were good, and even went for a pudding. I hope next visit we might strike a little better with our table, but otherwise, I have no hesitation in recommending this place, if you want to enjoy a relaxing meal, and don't mind paying a little bit more for it. In my opinion it's worth it.

Another nice meal here.Food was lovely nice atmosphere.The monkfish in my opinion was a bit tasteless. I know the decor is supposed to represent a boat however I think it's about time the restaurant was spruced up a bit as its beginning to look a bit tired .Apart from that, would still recommend the restaurant.

Booked a table for me and my fiancé, quiet disappointed if I’m honest, food was ok nothing to be amazed by after reading the reviews here. The service was friendly. I felt quite cold within the restaurant and my table was near the Toilets.

We recently organised a celebratory dinner for my daughters engagement at Dennys. Despite there being 30+ of us the food was served hot and with no wait. The food was delicious and varied. Hassan and he colleagues service was 2nd to none and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all for your hard work and a great evening. We will be back soon.

Denny’s was recommended to us by our daughter and we were not disappointed. It would be easy to miss the restaurant as it is tucked away to one side of the ticket office on Chislehurst railway station. The staff, service, welcome and ambience were excellent. Took us long time to find this restaurant When they said address was Station Approach we did not realise it was actually in Chislehurst Station itself It is as stated a seafood restaurant - excellent, well cooked & fresh The only downside is it is nit open lunch times!

I was v hopeful about Dennys restaurant from the reviews , however we were very disappointed the restaurant had a funny smell! The food was mediocre the lobster was pre prepared and then placed back in the shell, we suspect the same lobster is used for all 3 dishes on the menu and is not fresh.

Four people, eight courses covering six different items on the menu - not a single one that failed to make a 5. Excellent house white wine at a decent low price. Overall, would rate the food as good as Bentleys! Excellent service from staff - one of the best fish restaurants we have been in.

My wife loves seafood! I discovered this quirky seafood restaurant based literally in Chislehurst Station by speaking to one of my clients who highly recommended going. Decided to book a table for our wedding anniversary meal.

What can I say apart from AMAZING.We visited today and the food is superb. It was like stepping through a portal from station ticket office into another world. Service is wonderful and not overbearing. Relaxed and friendly and the seafood is fo die for. This is the first review I have ever written but felt I must as we had an incredible time. Fantastic little place. I do love it here, but I will say that because it's so compact, staff and customers keep bumping into your chair and table. My recommendation is to book a table in the corner and order your food well in advance. The fish and seafood is the best for many kilometres!

Came for a family meal with my partner and in-laws. Staff were friendly, however the place feels quite cramped as they have tried to have as many tables as possible. Unfortunately the food wasn’t great, Crab wasn’t very tasty and lobster was tough. For a restaurant that specialises in seafood I wouldn’t expect that. May have been an off night for the chef.
