It got taken over months ago, at first fish was far too thin and i think had few complaints. Now they have uped their game, and are doing excellent 👍 much improvement and a lovely coople….

Food is always cooked to perfection and is cooked fresh when you order. Generous portions. The people are lovely and chatty.

Lovely polite service. Cheap. Just thrown my fish away. I was surprised at price, I suspect it's Pollock not cod or haddock. Won't be returning.

Delicious fish and chips cooked in the traditional way and the BEST curry sauce I ever tasted, plus a variety of other fish and chip shop specials such as fish cakes, Yorkshire potato scallops, jumbo sausages and mushy peas. All food served freshly cooked and with a smile. I highly recommend Denholme Fisheries.

We are so lucky to have this traditional chippy in Denholme village. After a change of ownership last year, the new couple really have worked wonders. Everything they cook is delicious but the haddock is absolutely top notch. I can’t recommend this chippy enough. 👍

Absolutely love the fish and chips from here. We travel quite a way to get them but they cant be beaten on the excellent quality and value. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Called in tonight and really enjoyed our fish and chips loved the curry sauce. Tasted delicious reminded me of how they tasted when we got them from shanks terminus chippy years ago. Highly recommend them everyone was really friendly and helpful with allergies. Cooked one portion in rice flour. Thank you we will definately return.

Stumbled upon this little gem and what a find it was! From a fellow chop shop owner, this really was amazing quality food. Never had batter this crispy and delicious, everything so fresh and tasty too. Highly recommend this little diamond.

My partner being from Yorkshire waxed lyrical about the Fish and chips from Denholme and I have to say everything he said was true... A fantastic traditional chippy, whose chips are delicious and crispy in the outside and fluffy in the middle! The fish is cooked fresh to order and the batter was light and crispy and fish lovely and flakey. We also had the Irish curry sauce and mushy peas! Excellent!! Very friendly team and the place itself is spotlessly clean. We’ll be back 😊

As people know you can’t beat Yorkshire fish and chips and this fish and chip shop is no exception. Yes somethings the chips aren't 100% but that’s down to the potato’s and the time of year. We get small fish and chips and find this enough for us . The fish is haddock which I prefer unlike some other chippy that serve white fish . My daughter loves The Haggis they do too . I normally telephone to place my order if wanting haggis as this takes around 20 mins to cook . You must try the Irish curry sauce . Really good . Staff are lovely .

I called in for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I got there after closing time but they very kindly let me order. I had a fish butty which was freshly cooked for me - the portion was huge...great value and very tasty! I’ll be getting my fish butties from here from now on, and I’ll turn up before closing time next time!

The fish is lovely and the batter is not too thick but lovely and crisp. The chips are proper potatoes and both fish and chips are cooked to order that way everything is piping hot and fresh

Always really tasty, great portion sizes and friendly staff. My only gripe is that the opening hours are a bit limited. I often fancy some of their lovely Irish curry sauce and then realise they are closed.

Friends recommended Denholme Fisheries so often I tried it out. I can report the Legends are true. The fish is excellent, at last a SPECIAL that lives up to its name. It’s not often I feel the need to use the words “awesome” “fish” and “chips” in a single sentence but in this case totally deserved. Well worth the 13 mile drive over from Mirfield. We will be back with more friends.

I really do not believe the reviews on here I have given this chip shop chance after chance chips are always burnt black in places, soggy and swimming in grease and the fish is ok but nothing memorable in fact the fish is frozen I can tell .... never again

Well worth the drive over the hill from Oxenhope, perfectly cooked crisp light batter and a good sized piece of outstanding haddock with chips to die for almost like thrice cooked chips ! If I could give 10 stars out of 5, I/we would! Wrapped well enough to hold the heat in and still pipping hot after a 10 minute drive home and a lovely couple and very clean shop.

This is my second favourite chippy in the country, and I've visited a lot. Fish is of good size and quality. Chips are always well cooked. Run by really friendly people. Well worth a visit if your passing through.

Beautiful fish encased in a light batter-well towards tempura-fabulous scraps. A surprisingly large menu, including delicious mushy peas and several sauces. Cheerful service and pricing- for very generous portions. What more is there to say?

Popped in on the way home. They where about to close but fried up a couple of fish and a portion of chips which where superb. The batter was lovely and crisp and the chips spot for n crispy on the outside and fluffy inside
