Demiro's in Cardiff

An unplanned night out for food and we were impressed with the menu that was available to view outside. Adam the waiter (multitasking hero) was superb! Made the whole experience. Was friendly, polite, down to earth and could tell that making people enjoy their experience at Demiro's was his number one priority. Have told friends and family what a lovely place this is and cannot wait to go back!

We just had dinner there, nice restaurant with nice music and atmosphere. I liked my salmon. The desert was delicious too. The staff were very kind and helpful. We also went to their cabin bar too. Thank you Adam, you’re amazing:-) we will definitely go back there again!

Myself and my partner came here this evening, first time visiting Demiros and it was amazing! The staff were outstanding, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was great, they have music playing in the background which is a bonus! Also the view is so lovely! We will definitely be going back :)

Picked food from their 3 course Sunday lunch menus. Very quiet despite time of day. Excellent service. Food was well presented. There were two of us. We also had a bottle of house wine - expensive at £24.95 for a bottle that could be obtained in supermarkets for around £8/9. Liqueur Caribbean coffees were very good.

The food wasn't bad but not excellent. Ordered ravioli. It arrived in 20 minutes. Busy theatre crowd so the service was as good as they could manage. We should have gone elsewhere.

Place was empty yes red flag but still decided to eat ordered sea bass with salted pots it was disgusting and not sea bass said with lemon butter it was tater sauce pots were old stale and burnt . Chicken diane was not diane sauce pots were disgusting don't waste your time or money here

Fabulous evening at Demiros, food and service 1st class!

Food was good but service bad. We got one course from the Prie fixe menu served to us in about 75 minutes and had to leave for a show without dessert. Others were even worse off .

100% Better than Miller &Carter and Angus steak house in London. Had prawn cocktail for starters. Fresh prawns and presented perfectly. 6oz steak medium rare. (ACTUALLY MEDIUM RARE like it should be) not 1 bit of fat either. Customer service top notch not harassing every minute. Really enjoyed the restaurant and food was AMAZING!!! Very fussy steak fan. Music was just right also....... Will definitely be returning.

A lovely Valentines evening at Demiros. The place was decorated with red heart balloons everywhere. Great atmosphere with live singer. Attentive waiters. Food served quickly. Well done to all the staff!

What wonderful service we had here. The food was delicious and even entertainment whilst you dine. Great staff who were very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended

Extremely poor service, the chef even said that he dont care about the customer reviews and even said people who ordered well done steak are pure idiots. They were hugely racist and held views against us as asians, strong racial hate！

I had steak Diane which was good, my husband had sea base which was very thin and quite dry. Service was very good.

We hadn't booked a meal, but the staff found us a table. The staff were very obliging and friendly. The food was excellent. Next time I go to Cardiff I will definitely book in advance.

A fantastic restaurant very well run by Margaret and Kimberly. Always a great selection of food on the menu, plenty of seating and helpful , knowledgeable staff. A wonderful location down Cardiff Bay, every visit has been excellent. Highly recommended.

Overcrowded, no room to move, waiters banging into you at every pass by. A rehearsal for a show was happening so you couldn't really talk as it was so loud. If we had been told when we booked we would have gone elsewhere. steak was all gristle, poor portions compared to a previous visit. Had Eton mess for dessert.... Had 4 blueberries and half a raspberry. Very poor. Apparently if tips are paid on a card as part of your bill they are not passed on to staff. We gave cash. Staff work hard work in difficult surroundings. No repeat visit for us

Booked my daughters birthday for 10 people at5.30pm, were seated straight away but no drink order or food order taken till 6.10. Still waiting for food at 7.15 only came 10 mins later after complaining and then not the right food 2 of us ate what we were giving because we didnt want to wait any longer, people arriving after us already leaving after having their meal. Waiter apologised for the wait and offered free desserts only then to be told half the desserts were not available. Will not be returning.

Tables are very close together. Food was delicious once you got served. The starters were wrong so then had to wait again for it to be redone then the mains were wrong too!!! It is so loud in there I don’t think the waiter could hear but he gave the impression all was ok. When the bill came they tried to charge us for the meals they brought to us in error and not the actual ones we eventually got.

TLDR... Avoid. Did a quick search online of the menu, the prices and dish listings gave me hope... Atmosphere of a benidorm 'english' grub restaurant. Table reserved for 5pm orders taken at 5.10 So far so good. We have a show at 7 at the millennium center. It is currently 6.50 and no sign of food. I'm begining to question the reviews above 3* on here as even if the food arrived an hour after you ordered I doubt it's quality would make up for such a delay. When we asked the waiter why was there such a delay... "Your food is on the way, it's because we want it all served at the same time." I've heard him say this to a number of patrons by now... I'm no logistical expert of culinary practice but nearly 2 hours for a rare steak and lamb rack, seems quite excessive. And im no fine diner, by any means. But ive paid half as much for finer service, in lesser known establishments in Cardiff. and the food arrived in under 20 minutes with multiple courses and better quality...

I went there for the first time tonight and had their set three- course meal before going to the theatre.They also offer a set two - course and then many other dishes besides. We both had prawn cocktail to start, then I had seabass with sliced potatoes in their skins and asparagus whilst my niece had the steak Diane ( about £2.00+ extra), with chips and vegetables.We finished with Eton Mess and each course was delicious. The table and chairs looked pristine in black and white, and our window seat was delightful! I was delighted with the whole experience..the decor is fantastic with lots of lights ( one big, beautiful chandelier) and a warm, theatrical ambience. The meal was delicious and not overly expensive, and our waiter was attentive and very efficient. The service was rapid, and he was charming. The washrooms were immaculate! On the way out, we met two lovely ladies and an equally friendly dog. The former were the owners of the restaurant, and they seemed delighted to hear that we would definitely be going again. Thanks to everyone.

We arrived in plenty of time so we could have a nice meal before a show opposite the plaza. It took 40 mins between 1st & 2nd course. Main was small & we left hungry. Overpriced too. We went for the singing waiter experience which didn’t exist. Don’t know if this has changed ownership but it is not the experience we had a few years ago. Staff were friendly but sadly we will not go back.

Do not go here. Attended for a Christmas Day meal. The service was awful from the staff, rude and took over 2.5 hours between starters. No apologies. Food cold and inadequate portions. The entire party cost over £700. Drugs found in toilet and patrons not discouraged from smoking weed directly outside of the premise. Which filled the restaurant with a certain smell. Awful awful experience, rang back to discuss with management and was told there will be no compensation with no real concern or care. Beyond disappointed and unhappy with this restaurants service and attitude. Stay away.

Well located mediocre restaurant. Good service on a really busy night. Food was OK, really good value for money but avoid the house wine. Extra services of a VERY LOUD ‘pub singer’ was interesting.

Visited in the hope of having food prior to theatre tickets. Hadn’t booked. The staff were extremely obliging and helpful. We had food and it was made extremely quickly. Excellent quality food and brilliant atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit and we’ll Be back even if we don’t have theatre tickets.

Never been before, never will again. They used to have a good name so we thought give it a go. 3 children and 2 adults. The first thing I saw, was a very expensive bottle of wine that I drink at home, which was £30 in the restaurant! One child ordered spag bol -absolutely tasteless!, one had rack of lamb with chips - consisted was 3 small chops , and the third had carbonara. The description of carbonara was ‘with bacon ‘ . Quarter way through, she said the ham tasted funny, so we all tried it and it can only be described as squishy. I then separated one piece and pushed it with a spoon and it turned into a paste like substance. My steak was a terrible cut of meat, full of gristle and silver skin. My wife’s chicken and pasta was awful too. When quizzed about the ham/bacon in the carbonara, I said it’s like tinned ham/spam and he said that’s what they use!! We ate what we could, as we had gone without a meal all day, and looked forward to a nice evening meal. Paid , left and will never return.

Ich war in kleinem Bar gegenüber gewesen, der sieht wie kleines Häuschen aussieht. Die Ambiente ist toll. Alles schön Weihnachtlich geschmuckt, dazu kommt richtige Musik (gestern sogar live). Es wurde an alles gedacht sogar an künstliche Schnee nach draußen. Super gemütlich und sehr nettes Personal.

When for Christmas Day dinner, it wasn’t great - the place had an atmosphere like a football match. We were a group of nine. One of the group left early as the music was way too loud. It can’t be the same on normal days I am sure, however the place was packed and the kitchen was overloaded and couldn’t cope. Food was 5 course we didn’t have third as it didn’t come out and it took so long we didn’t stay for the fifth. We sat down at 3:30 and main meal didn’t come until 6:00 pm. Positives - the singer was good and the waiters friendly but the organisation was a shocker. No, no, never again .

I was at the bar opposite and loved the Christmas theme they had going. The cocktails were delicious, and the service was very friendly. Inside was very cosy indeed and I really did like the Christmassy atmosphere.

Went a couple of weeks ago for a work Xmas meal, there was 14 of us on a Tuesday night, restaurant was dead. I had also booked a festive menu, upon arrival I was told the menu I expected to have wasn't available to us because we didn't pre order. This info wants given to me when I booked and paid a deposit so we were given another festive menu to choose from instead. Which luckily did still cater to dietary requirements. I then ordered a cocktail which arrived 35 minutes later and was poor, I make them better myself. My next drink was a glass of wine, I ordered a medium and was given a large which I was charged for. We had 3 courses which was mediocre at best. My starter or procuitto wrapped asparagus was a few sad looking stalks of asparagus with a bit of bacon wrapped round the middle served on some pretty generic salad leaves. My main of festive chicken parcel with trimmings was a little chicken breast with a bit of bacon wrapped around it, the veg was average. Finally the desert was a baileys creme choux bun, absolutely no taste of baileys with what I assume was canned squirty cream. One of my colleagues with me ordered fish which was described as having some kind of sauce, it came with no sauce, when she asked where the sauce was she was told it had 'sunk in' to the fish. I mean... The wait staff didn't seem to have a clue what was going on, we chased for drinks on more than 1 occasion and when we were asking questions about food we got blank looks half the time. At the start someone in my group asked what the soup of the day was, the waiter had to go into the (empty) kitchen, open a pan and guess what it was. No chef in the kitchen until we started ordering so I assume some microwaving or re heating was done. Then when we got the bill we totalled up the cost of the set menu items they all came in at £2 less than the set amount but they were absolutely fine to still take the full amount from everyone. We were the only 14 people in the restaurant for majority of our dinner and they struggled with that. Shame, wouldn't recommend or go back.

4 of us went here nice inside 3 ordered steak dian 1 had chicken parcels which was nicely cooked but the steak was not 1 had a large piece of fat on a small steak there should have no fat on it at all the other 2 were no better, complained about the fat they did offer a free desert which was good this was a one only visit

Amazing place,great atmosphere, astonishing food and very nice staff. Is isn't the first time and for sure is not the last one. Very cultural place. Just loved it

I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and have had excellent service and great food, today was no different. My friends and I were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. I am already looking forward to my return visit.

Table booked for 7:30pm over half an hour delay and not seated till 8pm , ordered spaghetti carbonara , which was barely warm and a ridiculous small size portion that resembled a child menu in a weatherspoons ! Lacked any taste and the garnish was a joke - Awful just awful !

My husband and I dined at Demiro’s for the first time this afternoon. The restaurant was empty at 15:30pm on a Friday, which was ideal for us as we hadn’t made a reservation. The service was to a very high standard - all of the waiting staff were very friendly and attentive and had fantastic humour. The Festive Menu was very wallet-friendly: 2 courses for £16.95 or 3 courses for £20. The drinks menu is also very extensive and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely return in the very near future.

Very busy but friendly staff and lovely food. We also had a few songs from one of the staff before leaving for the theatre. Book in advance an allow at least 2 hours if you are eating before going onto a show. November 23. We visited again last night for a show meal. We both had starters and mains from the festive menu. Again the food was excellent and the staff very friendly.

We visited this restaraunt for a pre show lunch, there were a group of 15. Our table was booked for 12.15 for which we were seated and ready to order. All of the startes were on table without much of a wait. Myself I had the seasonal menu - 2 courses for £16.95. My starter was duc and otange pate which was ok (well you can't really go wrong with this). Or main courses was not served until 1.30 (the show started at 2.30. My main course was chicken parcel (chicken breast stuffed with stuffing and wrapped in prosciutto) served with saute potatoes and seasonal veg. It was wrapped in bacon, thickly cut and not prociutto. The stuffing was almost raw, and when i turned the chicken over there was a huge peice of white bacon fat that was hardly cooked. The vegetables, carrotts, which you couldn't cut and broccoli were slightly warm and the saute potatoes were tasteless. Needles to say I did eat the chicken breast but left most of the poatoes and vegetable. No one had time for dessert. Due to the timing and sorting of the bill we did not complain to the restaraunts. I would not recommend this place and never go there agin.

Friday evening 19th October and we visited this restaurant for dinner. It is located in Mermaid Quay and overlooks Roald Dahl Plass and the Welsh Millennium Centre. We did not have a reservation, so luckily they were able to accommodate the seven of us. We were greeted at the door, warmly welcomed, and shown to our large circular table. We were presented with the menus, there was the a la carte menu as well as a set price two and three course menus and the drinks menu. This is an Italian, Spanish and Welsh flavour to the food served here. While we decided on what food to order we ordered some drinks from a friendly good humoured waiter. We finally decided on what to order which was a range of starters including garlic mushrooms, chicken liver pate and homemade soup. My starter, the soup, leek and potato was delicious. Home made Welsh faggots proved to be rather popular with a number of us ordering them. It was unfortunate that there were insufficient faggots for us all so a couple of us reselected the chicken breast. When our food was served it was delicious the chicken breast was succulent and tender and the faggots were very much appreciated. There is certainly a sense of the theatrical, dramatic and the zany about the decor here. From chandeliers, Greek statues, theatre curtains, unusual lights and other oddities, they all added to the atmosphere here. We really did enjoy our evening here, reasonably priced, quality delicious food, attentive and amusing staff and the over the top decor.

We ate at this restaurant a while back and had a beautiful meal, however we were most disappointed in the food yesterday. One of our parties ordered 3 courses and 2 they didn’t have. Two of the other parties ordered steak and it was over cooked,we did say to the waiter but nothing was done. We had bread with the prawns and it tasted rancid. Finally we had our sweets, the sherry trifle was awful, the sherry was so strong it overpowered everything,the profiteroles like the trifles had squirty synthetic cream. The meal was for a special get together and we’re most disappointed.

Had a late lunch here I had the 8oz sirloin which was one of the best quality steaks I have ever had My partner had the seafood spaghetti which she said was delicious Service and friendliness of staff was first class Deco is extremely dated, but quirky at the same time Recommended

The food is pricey considering the quality and the stuff are so suspicious, they look weird special the owner, she is very irritating. Not recommended

Penne formaggi is full of water on the plate, no taste at all, penne Bolognese from tin, chicken Supreme 😂in pink. We went as a family of 5 and the food was scandalous. I've complained about it( I never do because I run a hotel so I know how this works) but they didn't even bother with an apology. When we left( very hungry because we didn't touch the food) they charged me in full.On top of that when I asked for a manager they ignored it and they charged me £189 instead of £109. They refunded and re charged again . What if I had no more money in the account? Again no apologies. What a joke. I am expecting to be contacted by someone in charge this experience was embarrassing for me considering my parents were visiting from Romania for the first time Cardiff.

Went for a meal a few weeks ago and was very disappointed. The food is obviously not prepared on site as it came out really quickly, the mushroom sauce with the main tasted like tinned mushrooms and the main meals were unpleasant. We could hear the bar staff swearing whilst he was talking to someone. Not what you expect when you go out to a restaurant. Won't be returning.

We visited Demiros this evening for my auntie's 60th birthday meal. This restaurant is fantastic! We were a party of 20 and everything was perfect, from the booking, the lovely staff, the service, the food and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. Every single person who attended tonight thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again soon.

Took my wife and son here recently for a birthday meal. Portions were generous and tasted great. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. I will definitely be coming here again. Great location and view of the Millennium Centre. The restaurant have a great selection of cocktails and beers.

Ordered a medium cooked steak and this is what I got. When I asked for a new plate they said this was only what a medium was in the restaurant

I came here on a date. The waiter gave us a used plate. When we complained, the waiter misbehaved with my lady and then rubbed the food particles off the plate and saying there is none. The waiter got aggressive so we had to stop arguing as we dont live here( which they figured out).

Sat at a table for nearly 20 minutes this morning and though I’m quite sure waiting staff saw me, they never approached. Obv gave up and went to Bill’s for a lovely breakfast. Do you not like runners? Or women? Or?

1st of all I love the atmosphere and the singer is excellent, The food however is absolutely terrible, my partner ordered the fillet steak which looked like a ribeye and it smelt disgusting and tasted awful after one bite we sent it back. The pepper sauce was bisto gravy with a load of pepper chucked on top. I had the rack of lamb which was tasteless and was served with frozen veg and again bisto gravy but with rosemary chucked on top. Overall by far the worst meal ever ordered. Whilst in the restaurant we saw 3 other meals being sent back so obviously other people thought the same. The waiter was apologetic and refunded us the steak but still tried to charge for the sauce. We walked out and went to pizza express instead which was very nice.

The first of three nights in Cardiff bay for my wife and I. We hadn't booked anywhere so we passed here and decided to get dinner. The Service was great and we were seated immediately. We both had the chicken Diane with a bottle of wine. The prices were reasonable but the food was pretty dire. The chicken was so dry and stringy it felt like chewing gum and the Diane sauce tasted like tomato ketchup. I really hate putting negative reviews but I have to be honest. Not sure I can recommend this place.

We arrived into a quiet restaurant. Tables are very close together with little room to move between them. Service was dreadful and staff were rude.

Took my wife there today for a nice impromptu meal together, the waiter to be fair was great, but the fare was very poor, clearly pre-cooked food not cooked on site, was told couldn't have dauphinoise potatoes as the didn't have any sauce delivered.. really? Not hard to make. Ordered crab cakes for starter, very disappointing little potato breaded rounds that had no crab (that I could taste) in them, my wife had a poor spaghetti bolognaise with no parmesan offered, we didn't bother with dessert and went to cadwalladers instead for dessert and coffee (very good) no wonder Demiro's was empty.. people obviously know what we didn't. Won't bother going there again... a waste of £97.00.

Me and my partner went out for food and came across the restaurant, we’d never been before but we will definitely be coming again! the food was incredible but our waiter (i’m unsure of his name) was amazing. he was very friendly the second we walked through the door, we asked to sit outside and he triple checked that we were happy to sit outside as it was cold. he checked on us a few times whilst we waited for our food, and once he brought our food out, he noticed we were shivering cold, so he came back out with 2 fleece blankets for us and wrapped us in them instead of just handing them to us! we couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. service and food was beyond amazing

Drinks are so bad. Awful quality and expensive .. order 2 bottle beers and there were £5.50 bit much seen as they’re not even pint. Also ordered a pins colada … bartender went out the back and came back with the drink … which I hate if you order a cocktail or any drink for that matter I expect it to be made in front of me. Drink was warm and didn’t taste any rum. Just not worth it at all. Real shame because it’s a great location

The looks of the place raised my hopes but was disappointed. Beer prices are high and are mainly lagers. There's two menus. A fixed price one with a selection of starters, main and desserts and sides as extras plus a full Al a carte. It was surprising to see the sides cheaper on the fixed menu than the main menu. I asked why this was but she couldn't answer. I asked if she could find out but she never did. I went Al a carte. Starter disappointing. Crab cakes...didn't have a crab taste to it and was served with tartar sauce when a sweet chilli sauce might have been better. Main I had chicken breast stuffed with basil and mozzarella wrapped in parma ham served on spaghetti in a neopolitan style sauce with spinach and a side of garlic mushrooms. There was just three bits of spinach in dish which was disappointing but they did bring out some more wilted spinach for me to add to the dish. Couldn't taste or see the basil or mozzarella in the chicken. Was told it was because the cheese had melted. I stated that the basil would still be evident and the cheese although melted would leave a soft stringy substance behind but non was evident inside the chicken breast. I appreciate cheese melts when cooked, I've cooked several recipes but i still got evidence of cheese when served. The mushrooms sides was charged at the main menu price but was worth it. A good sized portion, not in breadcrumbs but fresh mushrooms tossed in garlic to taste not to.ovrr power. I finished the chicken and left the mushrooms to last and tossed them in the remaining spaghetti which turned out very tasty.

We were 2 couples staying 2 nights in Cardiff city centre. We went down to Mermaids Quay in the late afternoon and saw Demiro's when walking by. First impressions on entering were great. We were greeted by friendly staff who told us about their food...

The food was excellent, the staff attentive and helpful, and the price (£17.95 for three generous courses) fantastic. Lovely to see an independent restaurant amongst the corporate ones now dominating Cardiff Bay.

Been to this place for a few years. But last night was awful- service was terrible especially when asked about food allergies. The food we ordered took ages to arrive- 1 hour!! Which meant we had to rush to eat it and was very close to missing our show. The cost of a drink of diet coke was £5. I shall never return again.

Poor!! Staff were rude, unattentive, they served meals over your head and from the edge of the table and we had to pass things down like a canteen. We arrived for our pre theatre meal and had table booked for 10 for 5.45pm. Our mains...

Restaurant seemed to have a nice buzz then reality kicked in. Service started off well then once we had our mains there was no service. Plates weren’t cleared, no offer of more drinks, desserts or coffees; after 30 minutes we paid and left. Food was...

Me and my partner came across this l lovely place whilst we were on holiday in Cardiff and cannot recommend it enough. We arrived just as The Singing Waiter was starting and he was incredible and it really added to the atmosphere of the place. The food was beautiful and the theatre-esque theme was a lovely touch. Should we ever return to Cardiff we will absolutely go again. A truly marvellous restaurant. It would be an excellent place to eat before going to see a show. 10/10.

Our server was condescending, food was bad, ordered steak medium and got it thoroughly done, salad was browning already and the chips were cold and stale, wouldn't come back nor recommend it.

Was that good, we went back for dinner the next night. Food was amazing and the singing server was sublime 👌 nothing i could fault and the food was also really good

Food always nice ...atmosphere can get noisy with the singing waitors ...but enjoyable ...normally book before attending the WMC for show

Went there on a Friday at 7.30 for my bday with around 10 friends, wasn’t sure what to expect because the reviews were so mixed so I was kinda worried initially. honestly, loved it so much. I was worried it would be awkward but the freakin’ waiter dude started singing and providing entertainment for us!!!!?? We were so shocked and confused but he was super interactive and had everyone singing and joining in. I was so impressed, and everyone left talking about it for ages because it was so fun. The singer was singing casual to opera and it was super fascinating!!! I recommend coming here!!!! It’s super worth it, food was great too!

There was a party of us on the night of 28th July, to say we were disappointed is an understatement, poor food with no flavour out of the 10 of us not one would give more than 5 out of 10, so dissapoited

Good service and food. Visited twice on recent trip to Cardiff

My god what has happened to this place. Booked and confirmed by phone, no sign of reservation on arrival. Took an age to served throughout the evening and the food was bland as hell and cold. Blokes in civilian clothes cooking. For the love of Pete do not eat here before going to a show as it'll ruin your entire experience.

We had a family get together for a big birthday, all had different meals and they were all lovely, well cooked and very tasty too.
