I discovered this place while visiting some friends that live in Hitchin. We wanted ice cream and found this nice little place. Tables and chairs in the front reminded us of our hometown cafe terrazas in Spain. The gelato was really good, and best of all, all the flavours they had at the time were gluten free! 100% recommend this place and I will be coming back next time I'm in Hitchin.

One of the irritations of taking al fresco refreshment in Hitchin's (mostly) pretty Market Place is that wherever you sit the view is marred by the monolithic unloveliness that is the Churchgate shopping precinct. But there is a solution - order your coffee from Delizia, a pint-sized kiosk affair which serves takeaways to passing customers and caters for those who want to stick around with tables and chairs on the level pavement (preferable to the nearby cobbles if you want to avoid spillages, which I've found out the hard way). Delizia's coffee cubbyhole is part of the Churchgate complex, so when you take your ease it's at your back, providing some welcome shade if the sun is beating down, and you can watch the world go by. I'd heard the coffee was well worth trying and I agree. There's a Starbucks a few paces away but why on earth would you, the Cafe Air affair on the cobbles serves a pretty bland brew and there's also the Hitchin Coffee Lab, where they take things much too seriously and has never really appealed to me. So as long as it's a decent day, Delizia has the edge on them all as far as I am concerned - simple snacks, decent coffee, and a chatty clientele.

Our regular place for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Great for a bacon sandwich and some good Italian coffee before you go shopping in Hitchin. Rick, the owner, is a lovely bloke and his mum’s homemade food always looks and smells delicious. Good, central town centre location and an interesting and diverse bunch of regulars. Dog-friendly too.

This is my place of preference in Hitchin. Paraphrasing. Covered because it is set in the cloisters of a modern building - still open air and with unobstructed views across the town square. The customer base is loyal - because the coffee is excellent and the owner, Ricardo is a gentleman. He is just a lovely human. Kind and attentive. There are some things which would improve the experience- largely to do with the business which uses a door next to Rick’s - but you won’t find hipsters here sitting for hours on their computers. It has an eclectic clientele. Non Brits, local business owners, mums, pensioners etc - but it’s charm is the owner, the coffee and the view. I wish I had the money to transform its immediate surroundings and turn it into a Palermo piazza cafe - Rick is someone who deserves to succeed.

Rick makes the best cappuccino in Hitchin. Unique location on the market square looking out watching the world, you can stay for hours. Rick is incredibly friendly and generous particularly with our daughter. Good range of paninis and specials like pasta for an authentic Italian lunch. A warm welcome guaranteed and take it from a coffee expert the best cap in town by miles

Forget the tax dodging chains. Need a coffee overlooking the square then Delizia is just perfect. Lovely lovely coffee - here speaks an Italian coffee drinker and the father of a Melbournian. Great fresh patisserie and lovely owner.

Stopped by here, as it looked very traditional Italian and assumed what would follow would be good Italian coffee. Ordered a Latte and an Americano. £5 later had two extremely hot drinks, that turned out to be undrinkable. Very watery and not a nice coffee flavour. I'm sure a latte shouldnt even have water in it! When tipping them away the Americano looked even worse! Dirty dish water! Complete waste of money and gutted considering how many nice coffee shops there are in Hitchin, was completely fooled by the Italian exterior!

Nice friendly staff. Coffee was good I had a Latte. Seating is outside so maybe not so good in colder weather, it is undercover though so you may be cold but if it rains you won't get wet. Also does sandwiches and light snacks.

We came here on my birthday. Really nice place, incredible value for money. All our food was tasty, but I think my son's beef bourgignon was the best dish. We'll be back.

Often stop here for a coffee and a snack. A bit chilly at the moment as it is January, but coffee always good. Good friendly Italian service every time. The pastries are always very, very fresh, and they will heat them up for you too if you prefer. Had the filled panini which was very tasty (mozzarella, basil pesto and salami). Much better than so many of the "chain" coffee shops in town.

Sat out side in the cold this morning drinking a coffee and eating an almond crossant. Roberto offered me a blanket to put over my lap to keep warm. A nice touch. This is still the best place to have a coffee in herts.

We visited as a family of 5 adults and dog. Lots of space, water brought (unrequested) for the dog, perfect service for the whole time we were there. The staff were all smiles and so welcoming. We all had Sunday roasts, amazing veg selection and roasties, wonderful desserts, and a lovely Macon Villages for a great price. (I've scored 4/5 stars as there was only a tiny amount of meat, and we requested one extra stuffing ball which we were told would be an extra charge). As I said, everything else, including easy parking, was perfect and we will definitely return.

David's Bookshop is so much more than a book shop. As well as books they also have a music shop where you can by new and second hand CD's and vinyl. They also have a coffee shop where you can get drinks and snacks. It's a really nice place to have a mooch about looking for books and music and then once you have completed your purchase then you can pay for it and get a drink to treat yourself for your new purchases. The prices of the drinks and snacks are very reasonable so it is the perfect place to visit.

This is a wonderful place to come and eat delicious soulful Vegetarian / vegan food and the coffee is great too! I was attending medical treatment locally from overseas and I was researching healthier dining options as I am tired of the usual Italian, Pizza, Burger establishments and I came across Miss Green Fingers that looked perfect so I that helped me choose where I booked my accommodation. The cafe was fantastic! As I was travelling alone it can be a bit daunting visiting a completely new area but they made me feel so welcome and made me the most delicious takeaway meals to take back to my hotel, the oat milk porridge with date syrup was a particular favourite along with the salads. It also boasts a little shop which is perfect for picking up healthier drinks & snacks but has the most amazing selection of Montezuma chocolates for a treat too! ;-) Just a shame they don't have a branch in Kenya!
