Never experienced such rude people. Awful customer service. Food was 45 minutes late, restaurant just screamed down the phone at me when I tried to ask a ETA. Shocking service. I’m not sure how they are still running to be honest.

Brought some prawn toast which was really good, did pick up with deliveroo and they were trying to make me pay again 😅

Rang to order for collection, midway through placing my order the person on the other end puts the phone down and starts talking to someone else in the background. He then returns to the phone and tells me they to busy to take my order and hangs up! Wow! The rudeness is real! Straight into my deleted basket.

Ordered via uber eats at 5pm, said delivery was supposed to be at 5.30pm. At 5.31pm my ordered got cancelled via uber by the merchant (the Chinese shop). I called the restaurant as uber wouldnt help me as order cancelled and the first person I spoke to was slightly confused but said they accidentally cancelled it, they were supposed to cancel a different order. Suddenly a second person, who I'm assuming is the manager, who proceeded to scream at me down the phone saying that he has a lot of things to do and can't be holding up the phone explaining things to me. They've cancelled my order because im unhappy and I explained that he was making me unhappy because I've been charged and not getting the food. I explained that uber sent me a message that I had been charged but my order was cancelled. Tried explaining this to the manager and he kept interrupting me, shouting at me down the phone. Saying that they've called the driver already to being it back because im unhappy. Very very rude manager, even after placing another order with them and paying over the phone the second time. Food arrived luke warm so it was clearly the first orders food and not a fresh batch. Really upset by how I was spoken to after they made a mistake. Really don't understand why the manager acted the way he did.

As below with many they do not treat their customers with any respect. Even the loyal ones. Cancel orders if they aren’t a high enough value, give unrealistic delivery times and then call you to say it’s going to be much longer, rude on the phone. Our order was cancelled after we asked that it wasn’t. We agreed to the extra time but after we phoned we were told to order somewhere else and they didn’t want our order.

Ordered food, estimated 20-45 minutes. Rang after 20 minutes and said it’d be another hour. I asked for some reimbursement and they declined to serve me, cancelling my order. Been loyal to this place for 3 years. Amazing place 😅

Really like this Chinese. The staff are lovely and friendly. Ordered honey chicken, salt and pepper chips, special fried rice, chicken balls and lemon chicken. The salt and pepper chips could do with a little more flavour but still good. But the rest of the food was great! Would definitely recommend.

Pleasantly surprised, everything was packed with flavor. I'm accustomed to American Chinese cuisine so this is quite different but still delicious in its own way. Chicken balls had lovely breading and juicy chicken, curry sauce had nice depth. Vermicelli noodles had good kick and flavor (and tastes even better the next day 😋). Best part is everything was so affordable. Definitely the best Chinese I've had in the area and also the cheapest by far so double win.

The worst ever. Diabolical. Ordered on website. Money taken. No confirmation. Called. Was told I need to call Yo-yo and it was my fault for ordering on yo-yo as they no longer use them. Yet it is on their website page. ‘Your problem, not mine’. Worst customer service from a basic hovel.

Driver asked for me to do a review which I don’t normally do reviews Salt and pepper chicken - soggy but flavour was nice - needed the crispyness to it Crispy shredded chilli beef - not crispy at all so chewy and actually not edible Chicken curry was lovely Egg fried rice was lovely Chips not so nice felt over heated Chicken balls - nice Sweet and sour chicken nice Not my usual Chinese but definitely would order again but just not those dishes, did get some free prawn crackers but I did spend £45 Thanks Hazel

THE WORST CHINESE SHOP EVER Don’t waste your time. No regard for existing customers or potential customers. Rude aggressive non professional behaviour. Absolutely foul behaviour the man was having a full blown argument with the female staff member in full view of the public. Eventually I was asked what I would like only for the man to shout something to the lady and she told me mid order I can’t take your order. She went on to take an order over the phone. So knew the food hadn’t ran out I tried to order again only to be shouted at I can’t take your order. I asked the reason and was ignored I asked again she said busy busy. I was left bewildered and astounded that in 2023 such people are at the forefront of an establishment that thrives from the custom of the local people and customer service is non existent. The shop next door however were very welcoming and polite spent over £100. Avoid at all costs. Customer service is free and these people have none.

My parter and I have tried several Chinese takeaways in a bid to find our favourite. It’s safe to say this place is in top slot right now! Really very, very nice food and speedy delivery. The delivery, or rather the cost of it PLUS service charge (£4.50 in total) is the only reason I’ve not given 5 stars in this review. Lovely meal, will use again for sure. The shredded fried smoked chicken is a favourite of ours. Keep up the good work guys.

Horrible service I ordered about month ago I was not happy ribs was too dry. Anyway I tried to order last week to deliver Biddenham they asked 6 pound for delivery so I went to collect and he was so rude very aggressive just because I didn’t want to pay 6 pound for delivery and they told me go somewhere else they didn’t give my food very bad experience. The food we have tried were so good, definitely will come back for the crispy duck and salt and pepper chips. And the worker was generous to give chips to my boy who followed me for pickup, friendly enough to ask if there were other siblings at home. So generous and friendly.

Ordered online, needed to speak to restaurant and after 4 attempts of being cut off by them a very rude man answered and told me he was too busy to talk and told me he was cancelling my order because they were too busy!! Very rude, second time this has happened first time I was told he couldn’t hear me because they were busy and order on line then slammed the phone down! Nearly £100 of business lost. BAD MOVE

Not very happy with this service. We got a text message after ordering saying our order had been cancelled so out of curiosity we phoned up to see what had happened, the worker that answered the phone was very snappy and insisted that the reason for the cancel was our fault and that they had phoned us and we didn’t answer when they was no phone call. He proceeded to not let us talk and talked over us and then says “there’s nothing I can do.. bye!” He had a rude tone and wasn’t very helpful wouldn’t recommend.

The customer service in this place is abysmal! We received an order that was cold and left a review complaining which we were refunded for and have just tried to order again and have been told that they will no longer deliver to us! I’ve used this takeaway for years. And today my order got cancelled through just eat. When I called, the the guy said my address had been barred. I asked why and he couldn’t tell me. We have had absolutely no problems with them in the past. The guy was so rude and shouted at me down the phone for absolutely no reason. Really upset me and has ruined our evening. Will definitely not be using them again. They have lost a loyal customer!

Last meal was not as nice as had previously, but decided to give this place one more try, wish I hadn't! Rang to order but was told to place order on line not through just eat but through their new (alleatapp)app, spent 30 minutes trying to place the order but the app was difficult and slow to use, did not want a big order so ordered the minimum amount for delivery, but app gave 20% discount so that brought the total down and had to order more food before it would accept the order ??? so ending up ordering more food than wanted. Tried to pay through the app but did not get a confirmation, so rang the restaurant again, to find out if order received. Spoke to very rude man who said he was manager, I tried to explain I did not think their ordering app working properly and they may be losing business if others having same problem, and he treated me as if I was complaining (which I wasn't) he was very rude and nasty, he told me he's not interested and I was not to order from him again! No worries on that score would never use them again!! And no we never received the order!

We have ordered a takeaway from this place a few times, but never again! Absolutely appalling service, probably the worst we have ever had in Bedford, in fact anywhere. I've read through some of the reviews here and cannot understand where some of the high stars come from because we've tried the food, and its ok at best, but poor as a standard. If only we'd seen the Food & Hygiene rating earlier, we would never have ordered anything, but as for the service from the little troll at the front, he would definitely put anyone off! We'd never recommend this place to anyone.

Recieved an order tonight , have ordered many times from here , the food that arrived was very poor the bbq ribs were mainly fat , and the sauce what little there was was not the same tasted fatty, Thai sweet n sour chicken was just coated chicken ,virtually no sauce , I did ask for it to be mild which I do when ordering I called the restaurant to explain and got excuses and verbal abuse from a man who said he was the owner told never to order from the shop again which I fully intend to do , if you have problems with an order and call the restaurant be Prepared!!!!!

I collect my food because l am only 10 minutes away. The food when l collected it was still very hot and taste very nice. Best Chinese food in Bedford. The price it good value for money.

Been searching for a new good Chinese take away for a while and new delicacies has to be the best Iv found! The food is always piping hot on delivery and delivery drivers are always friendly. The food speaks for itself a must try if your looking for a great take away.

We placed a takeaway order today for several dishes. Singapore fried rice, special fried rice, egg fried rice, sweet and sour chicken , chicken balls, duck spring rolls and mini spring rolls. I think they have a new chef as we used to eat from there all the time. But today the food was absolutely awful The rice was under cooked and food had a funny taste to it all. Have rung up to complain

I usually don’t leave Reviews but the food was so bad I had to the food was way too salty the duck was dry with no flavour I called to tell them that it was too salty and I couldn’t eat it i was told not to order again from the restaurant and that no one ever complains about the food he was very rude to me. Then, a chance trial at Delicacies of China during lockdown last year (when the Canton was closed), and we are still going there nearly 1 year on. It not only passed the 3 orders without a problem test, but it has consistently served us absolutely excellent food ever since. We believe that Delicacies of China is THE best Chinese Takeaway in Bedford. The food, the service, and the prices have compelled us to have a takeaway from here every single week. Lee ensures that the food is exactly how we like it, and exactly what we want. We have enjoyed the food every single week without a single problem. Recently tried Aromatic/Peking Duck for very reasonabe price. Pleasantly surprised. It is very good considering we are not in London Chinatown where I used to frequent. King prawns noodles, Beef chow mein and Malaysian Cha Kuey Teow is very good too. Very quick cooking time if you are collecting as it can get very busy in the evenings. Very poor took over 1 hour and 50 minutes .when food turned up rice tasted burnt over cooked. There are better restaurants in bedford not recommended try else where .

Tried to order a delivery through the App. Text was that they are "too busy". Phoned them and got through straight away to be told that they are not delivering to my post code. I live 2.8 miles away and checked on google and there is no traffic and it is a 5 minute drive. I won't bother trying again.

Ordered food from here, got given the wrong food. Staff were rude. Once I received the food the prawns were raw and the beef wasn’t cooked properly and smelt really bad. Really bad.

Over the past 30 years or so, I have been to just about every Chinese Takeaway in Bedford.Some of them have been quite good, but then the service turned out to be poor, so, we didn’t continue with those ones.Rarely do you get a Chinese Takeaway that provides not only great food, but also great service.I noticed that there are a few negative reviews on here, however, it would appear that they are from earlier on in the year.I have now been having my Takeaways from Delicacies of China since I found out by accident that Lee was now the main front of house man!No wonder it has improved!I knew Lee from the previous Chinese Takeaway that I had been going to for years and years, but then Lee left and didn’t reveal where he was going!I am so glad that I came across him again by accident because we have now been going to Delicacies of China for nearly 2 months, and the food is absolutely brilliant.Add to that, the service that Lee and his team provides is also brilliant.So, I have been telling all my friends and relatives to go and try Delicacies of China because in my opinion, and that of my family, is that it’s the best Chines Takeaway in Bedford now!Well done and keep up the great food and service Lee!Vince & Sandy

I don't generally leave reviews but I wasn't at all impressed with the food. The chips were obviously reheated, the chicken tasted like it was processed, the boiled rice was lumpy and overall the dinner was only tepid. My wife has a bad belly this morning. I wouldn't use delicacies of China again.

I have been waiting for over 1 hour 30 for food and it still hasn’t came I’m extremely disappointed with there service and the man on the phone had no idea what was going on and had not even offered a discount or any sort of offer

We have used this outlet for about 3 years on and off, as it was really the best we had found. However, today's order was dire! Decided we would order and wait on the premises as we had heard negative comments from friends re. delivery. Despite ordering and waiting, when we got home, it was still an entire dish short. On ringing them, the man on the phone was very rude and when we offered to collect the missing item, told us we would have to pay again! In the end my daughter went and collected it, and had to pay HALF as he obviously thought she was trying to cheat him. NO apology offered. We will not be using them again, as they are clearly new owners and haven't got a clue about customers service., And the food was nothing like the sizes it used to be before. Note:this place only takes Cash!

We use this Chinese regularly. The last two meals we have had have been poor..1st one no sauce with one dish that is included in the dish not served separately and last night the meat was dry and couldn't tell what meat was what in a special meal which has mixed meats.very long delivery time which I normally dont mind but nearly 2 hrs! I feel they are going down hill slowly. Wont be using them for a while now unfortunately.

I was very pleasantly surprised that our first Just Eat delivery meals were very good, despite the long wait. Allowing for New Year's Eve overload, the 3 hour wait spoilt the occasion, but the food matched the taste, quality and quantity of my previous 40 years favourite, the Hoi Tin. My most recent order was delivered promptly and the various dishes were excellent, I can imagine that The New Delicacies of China have been victims of their own success but if they can delivery within an hour I am sure that they will gain a very large clientele. I highly recommend this takeaway

Placed an order said they would deliver in half an hour. No deliver. After numerous calls said they would deliver after an hour. No delivery. Again said they would deliver after an hour and half. We waited 2 hours. No delivery and no refund.

Unfortunately the superb Hoi Tin I've so enjoyed for 40 years seems to have closed so I had to find another Chinese delivery take away in Bedford. I checked JustEat which I use regularly..only to be deceived by their 4.5 rating 2 items missing from my nearly £40 order..incoherent response when I called to complain..and meanwhile.. we are waiting.. ! I am VERY unimpressed.. and how did they get such a high JustEat rating ? When I checked their website..SO many negative comments and 2.5 overall Just like Boris,, trustworthy..? NO WAY

This is by far one of the best chinese in bedford. The food here is always what you expect to eat in a chinese takeaway. It is not expensive but at the same time quality ia good. Especially if you take away. Not sure about delivery, as I have never tried dwlivery.

We’ve never ordered a take-away from this restaurant before and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and amount of food supplied. The crispy duck was absolutely fabulous and well enough for 4 people. All of the other dishes were brilliantly cooked and of generous proportions. We just couldn’t believe the other very poor reviews of this restaurant on Trip Advisor because this was the best take-away food we’ve had in Bedford. Perhaps they have taken heed of the previous poor reviews and decided to make big improvements. If so, they have certainly turned things around.

The food tasted terrible no flavour my vegetable dish tasted like boiled in salt water. Me, my husband and my son were all ill with bad tummies That night. I went back the next day with the rest of the food to let them know and ask for the £35 we had spent (knew I would not get that back) two men one women all slagging me off in Chinese, no customer service at all (they did Not care) so left. Their clothes were all dirty and greasy too. I then looked and saw they have a 1 for food hygiene from July!!!! so that is not good and some bad reviews online we should have checked them first. Def won’t be going back there as food disgusting and had bad tummies food hygiene must be disgusting!!!

Omg this was by far the worst I've ever had from delicacy of China it started going down hill along time ago but thought again would give the benefit of doubt. We have ordered from a lot of different Chinese take away but this one has to be the best. We've never had a bad meal. Some places send a bit of meat and lots of veg here you get lots of meat. There are many different tastes and flavours. Would highly recommend

Después de 45 minutos me llamaron de nuevo y me dijeron que la comida había sido enviados y estaba en el camino. 20 minutos más tarde llamé de nuevo a dar la misma historia. this used to be a fabulous Chinese take away but the past two times we have ordered the length of wait for the food is absolutely ridiculous - the last time we ordered we waited just under two hours for the order!!!! we had to call to chase the order and what did they give us a bottle of coke!!
