Delivery times have become exceptionally poor. 90+ minutes has become the norm, over two hours not unusual. Avoid.

-5 it should be rated ,upon entering we were given a table for two for four of us despite the restaurant being empty , we were forced to sit next to filthy blinds splattered in food and dust on the floor chocolates and rubbish strewn around an empty restaurant , when the waiter came over we ordered drinks and starters drinks were flat and although they stated even though it had come from a tap it tasted like water and was flatvas if poured from a seriously cheap bottle of week old nearly empty own brand coke , we asked why it was flat and tasted of water to be laughed at and ignored and he walked off , pulling faces ,upon ordering we weren't asked If any of us had allergies and staff seemed more fixated on standing and doing nothing a good six of them despite it being dirty and empty , one seemed more interested in expressing his body and doing weird air humping and flexing his muscles to an old man sat trying to eat by himself stating that it's leg day despite flexing his arms extremely close to this poor man , we were then rudely asked if we were going to order are main in a passive aggressive manner , food took along time to arrive a good half an hour for it to turn up just passable as it being hot , poppodoms were a little stale , rice did not seem fresh , one prawn that looked like it had been trod on for the whole dish and the meat seemed over cooked or as if it had been cooked and left to long to flash pan it , four to five pieces of tiny chicken for another , corners had seriously been cut for eat in food for them to make maximum profits of basically just sauces the basic fundamentals of the basic dishes were lacking, we ordered numerous types of naan breads for it to arrive with a honey or golden syrup drizzle instead of ghee or left dry ,despite the bread base being good the peshwari naans were not at all peshwaris they had cut major corners and had zero sultanas even though it is a major part of the peshwaris elements , again we complained and was offered one drink fresh miraculously this turned up with lemon in despite two of our drinks being flat , upon inspection when I looked at the lemon it seemed as if someone had cut the tip of their nail off and it had stuck to the lemon despite me thinking it was part of the lemon at first so I took a gulp to get a mouthful of a nail either accidentally cut off or from a nail biter chewing and spitting it as I pulled it out my mouth I could see what it was at this point I'd gave up with them taking advantage of taking the P , when food was served we were each given a napkin these were dirty also and covered in debris of I don't know what , the whole night was an epic fail here, the waiter although pleasant came and asked us if we were enjoying our meals when we complained he walked off laughing yet again and seemed complacent and not wanting to listen despite me not finishing talking to him , this really riled me up at this point we all gave up for a team of them to bring the bill as if they were trying to intimidate the payment. When I complained and explained the situation , the food we were made out to be liars , despite showing proof one then said we are happy for you not to pay for the items we asked if we could pay separately for our meals then when he had our cash in his hands he added it together as one bill and would not listen to us and went back on his word and charged us the near full price a whole few pound off so I lost my cool admittedly and tried to tell him that that wasn't on , so I lost my cool and poured my drink over the table if your going to go back on your word and steal from your customers then you can work for the money you've stolen avoid at all costs these workers are seen regularly buying stolen items off heroin addicts and thieves at the side door I know I used to be one of them years back and buying out of date or due to be out of date to cut costs from many supermarkets within the town avoid at all costs truly a disgusting place and staff deluded with standards set that low they have started to believe their own lies

It was VALENTINES NIGHT so it was to be accepted, but i still got a fabulous service .

Have used delhi divan for well over 8 years however just lately I have been left waiting for well over an hour and a half. Have had to ring up to find out where it is. Don't really expect to wait over 2 hours for a takeaway for it to turn up cold this has happend more than once. Won't be using again I'm afraid.

i enjoy their choice in tikka chicken in my kurma curry more so now than before.

Best madras in town by far, been a few times here with work mates. Come here tonight with girlfriend for birthday meal both of us well impressed. Great service and friendly staff too. See you again soon thanks.

Food was cold and the pakora was hard

We were a group of 16 adults on arrival We asked for the air con to be switched off as it was blowing freezing cold air. After ten minutes this was turned off. All evening the restaurant was freezing cold. We ordered our food the chicken korma was stone cold as was the rice and the naan bread was lacking flavour definitely not garlic and coriander, my partner ordered a chicken makhani on arrival it had cheese sauce on top we called the waiter over and he said it was cream however clearly it was cheese it even tasted of cheese. No atmosphere People in the restaurant were wearing their coats with one customer wearing his woolly hat. I spoke to the manager at the end of the evening about how cold the restaurant was and he basically called me a liar. Avoid at all costs. Bad management and bad overall experience.

Nice premises. Great staff food well cooked and reasonably priced.

The food was excellent but the service from front of house was appalling. We arrived at the restaurant closely followed by a group who were obviously regulars as we were ignored in favour of them and we were only attended to after the regulars had been seated. A simple request to have the poppadoms at the same time as the onion bhajis proved too much for the waiter who couldn't hide his disdain and rudeness from us. The other waiter obviously noticed the lack of customer service being provided and was very attentive to make up for his colleague. Tip.... If you have an obnoxious member of staff, do not put them front of house.. keep them in the background as it ruins what could have been a five star rating as the food was excellent

Delivered 10/15 mins late, curry was cold but rice was hot, not much flavour to whole meal

Would vote 0 if I could. Blamed us when food wasn’t delivered. Declined a refund and was absolutely vile on the phone. Will never order from here again.

Arrived late, luke warm at best

Family meal. We regularly go to this restaurant. I can't fault the service or the quality of the food. We usually have the Apna style curries which are authentic in taste and presentation. Overall good value for money.

Delhi divan isn’t what it used to be. Used to go there once a week, but after tonight’s experience, and the last time I visited, I don’t think I’ll be using them again. The golda jhinga has completely changed and is now very sweet sauce with some kind of cream in it? Just confusing. I don’t know if the chef has changed but everything is not at all like it used to be. Second time I’ve been disappointed with this. Delivery arrived very early though

Everything was great - service food speed of service choice all you could wish for unless you were in India in person. Atmosphere was only 4 stars as we were there at opening time and no one else was there yet. Will return soon.

Noisy when busy. Good quality food but quite expensive.

This was actually ordered for a takeaway we have eaten in there before and food was delicious this time we had a home takeaway wasn’t nice at all chicken in both mains was dry and overcooked only received 2 out of 4 sauces for the chutney tray the naan bread was smaller than what you get in the restaurant and your paying the same prices, the only thing that we ate was the starter, the mains unfortunately went in the bin after a couple of spoonfuls each very disappointed it should be just as good as eating it in there

We arrived to collect at 21.25 as informed. There was confusion as to where our food was, we managed to be finally handed it at 21:45 at which point it was cold. The curry’s were not spicy as stipulated on the menu. All in all a poor experience all round

Ordered for delivery and despite stated delivery time of 70 mins went ahead. It arrived 3 and a half hours later! Despite 3 phone calls. Service appalling, food Luke warm but after reheating was ok. Won't be ordering again!

All good except some missing popadoms. Would have been 5 stars if order was correct.

Sunday 12th. Ordered take away food (over £30) ten minutes after the restaurant opened. Told it would be 45 minutes. Over 2 hours later, after a couple of phone calls to locate order still not arrived. Told its because new driver and Moqsood not in !! Eventually cancelled. Very disappointed after using this restaurant since it opened. There are plenty of others to use in Tamworth/Lichfield.

Ordered a takeaway, took over 2 hours to be delivered. Finally got a knock on the door to find my food had been left on the floor as the delivery driver drove off! Absolute disgrace

If I could give less than 1 star I would. We ordered our food 2 and a half hours ago. After an hour and a half we phoned and were told it would be 5-10 mins. An hour later still nothing and phone line is constantly engaged so can't get through. The order has been paid for as well. Absolute joke.

Took over an hour to arrive, food was great, had no issues with the food. However the delivery guy was so rude. called me and told me to come to him to get the food halfway down the street. Then also decides to be rude to me over the phone... whilst I had it on speaker infront of others.

Really bad night tonight, long wait , food dissapointing

Arrive at 19:20 (booked for 19:30) and booked in and told to wait for table - all good. But then waited until 19:45 after speaking to the same guy 3 times, only for him to say I thought you were waiting on a take out order!!!!!! Sat down and ordered food and drinks, air con was on full blast hot which was eventually switched off just as we were leaving 🤦🏻‍♂️ Food quality and taste was fantastic but no one collected empty plates for 25 minutes after we had finished or offered another drink. We eventually went to the counter ourselves paid complained and left but the blank faces were really not bothered. This was a Saturday and busy ish but it was unorganised chaos and will not be returning. Shame because the food was amazing.

Food excellent. Delivery should have been between 19.40 and 20.00 but not received until 20.12.

Dreadful company extremely rude over the phone. Very immature staff to deal with. People answering the phone whilst driving to take orders. Very poor company for the price they charge. Also when collecting your food they have a deal where they take off 10% for collecting your own food and they try to just add it back on when you arrive. Would never go here again !

Amazing New Year’s Eve meal for 3 The restaurant was busy but we had booked in November as we thought it would be busy. Great service and food as usual, the tandoori Chicken and lamp chops were brilliant. Would definitely recommend, the food is always amazing.

Tried this place twice as we was looking for a decent local curry house, it’s ok I’m not going to be too critical, the chutney dish is excellent, starter was just ok, main course pretty average….not bad just average, value for money wise the service just wasn’t there for me. I’d go again on an “offer” night as it’s fair value at those prices but beyond that I prefer my experience elsewhere (blue water for me) nice looking restaurant on a positive note.

Delivery is absolutely shocking! 2hours for an order to arrive! So frustrating when we know the food is good (albeit somewhat cold due to arriving so late).

Never order for a delivery from this place shockingly late . Then when food actually arrives you end up microwaving it for it to be edible . Not what you e pect when you spend £38 .if I wanted a microwave meal I'd of gone the supermarket

So living in a village away from a town these guys went above and beyond with service. Many other established food outlets via certain apps do not service our village but after calling Delhi Divan at Tamworth they just asked what would you like, even though I kept saying do you want our post code, no could I have your order. Amazing service, Amazing delivery person and Amazing food. Delhi Divan Tamworth, thank you. 100% service.

Food arrived late . Second tine ordering from this restaurant won't be a 3rd time . 1st time food didn't arrive at all through just eat . This time food was all cold had too microwave food prior too eating .if I'd wanted a microwave meal I would have gone the supermarket not spent £38

We ordered a take away for delivery, after the 3rd phone call and two and a half hours our food arrived and it was stone cold. We spoke to the manager who said when we next order we could have the same for free as an apology, we phoned tonight to re order and amazingly they have never ordered to us and apparently would never of said a free meal. We would never use again!!!!!

Ordered at 5.30 estimated delivery 6.40-7pm Confirmed delivered at 7pm but not received had to ring to find out where it was didn’t arrive until 7.20

Ordered for delivery and despite 3 phone calls took 3 and a half hours to arrive, after stating 70 mins delivery ( which we had prepared for not 210 mins)! Food luke warm. Will not be ordering again?

We went for my daughters 21st birthday (25 of us) food was outstanding everyone said how delicious the food was. The best Indian food you will fine in Tamworth. The service was spot on. The restaurant is lovely and so are the staff

Poor compared to our last visit. Food was average at best, the waiter somewhat rude and the atmosphere felt like a works canteen - whoever organised the new lighting to be so blinding, needs a lesson in how to create an ambience. Dreadful. So disappointed because this used to be one of the best Indian experiences in town. Clearly not anymore.

Don’t order delivery from this place as waited over an hour for food to be delivered and they didn’t follow my delivery instructions. Recommend eating in at the place though as service there is good and atmosphere is nice

To be honest, I'm terrible with Indian food, but I thought this place was lovely! The menu was vast, with a wide range of dietary requirements covered, though there was only one cider available on the drinks menu, which, well, is a nitpick but worth mentioning. Also, considering this place is right next to a nightclub, the staff here seem well trained in kicking loud people out, which is good because they were dealt with right as I was getting to my limit. Overall, a really good place, definitely worth trying out if you're interested.

It was a bit disappointing tonight. It didn't taste like the same meals we normally order. Not sure if it's a different chef, but, not as good as normal.

Absolutely lovely food! Went for the mid week special offer for £13 for a starter, main, side and rice!! Bargain! There was loads of food and tasted great! Would definitely recommend

Really beautiful food but it was kind of ruined by the horrendously long wait time for the order to come out. Some people even left the restaurant, others were there longer than us but were served after us. We heard them complaining they had waited two hours for food! Very disorganised. They said short staffed. No apology until right at the end on paying. Then the bill was wrong but the waiter said it was correct. Since worked it out and I think they automatically added 10% to the bill. I think it should be personal choice how much you want to tip and this is really why I am writing this review. Check your bill carefully and be aware that the food is lovely but you may have a very long wait for it. I am updating my review as I have been twice since and have been charged exactly right. We decided to just order the £12.95 offer and no extras each time now so we know exactly how much it is costing and we have been charged correctly. I must say that the food from here is the best Indian food I have ever had in a restaurant anywhere and the offer they have on which is on a Tuesday and Wednesday is a fantastic one. Long may it stay and be at that price as it means we can actually afford to go out to a restaurant still once a month.

As a family of 4 adults we went midweek for the £13 meal deal. What an absolute bargain and the food was of high quality. Starter, main, side and a rice or naan. Staff were on it with service. It wasn’t take your own drinks which is normally a big deal breaker for me when going out for a curry but when the meal deal is this good, I have no objection in paying for alcohol. Highly recommend!

The food is lovely not much of an atmosphere and none of the staff are particularly friendly, also I've been there 4 times and the wait is always extremely long unfortunately.

Went with a large group of friends that had booked a week in advance. Due to the size of the group we were having a mixed buffet rather than individual orders. After 90 minutes all we had received as a group was a starter that consisted of bland food that probably came out of the freezer. It was so bad that after over 90 minutes of sitting there while all the rest of the restaurant was being served several of us got up and walked out.

The starter was so salty I had to throw it away, the curry was red hot ( vindaloo hot ) not dhansak hot. It was really dry and tough chicken. Everything was just cold. I threw it away in the end.

Used deli for a number of years as they used to tick all the boxes. Last few orders they have messed up. First time was told an hour wait and called up after 1 hr 20 to be told its on the way just left the kitchen now so will be fresh and piping hot! 15 mins latet turned up stone cold. Clearly the order hadn't just left and was a lie, naan breads like half cooked dough! complained and told it was an issue with a new member of staff! Had visitors that evening and tea was a write off! Ordered again tonight had company once again had a list infront of me ticking off everything on the Order as ordered over phone and was told 1 hr! 1 hr 20 mins later called up to be told food had left and was suprisingly busier than normal! 10 mins later food arrived. Started dishing up and no rice! Called back and was told there was no rice on my order! 150% know i ordered it as i ticked off items on the list as read out! I told him i ordered rice and once again spoilt my meal, to basically be called a liar! Very very rude, very poor service and shocking customer service as of late and will no longer be getting my money again in future! Jokers!!

Bought food out quick , it’s hot and properly tasty , very clean utensils and table , very friendly staff . Car park just outside free from 6pm onwards.

No free poppadoms when you spending as much as I did. Chips was very greasy and salty . Hardly any chicken on the tandoori bone but my partners curry was lovely aswell as the light rice

As a regular customer at Delhi divan Tamworth we decided to try the set menu for 2 which we thought was reasonable for £29 . Pickles and poppadoms were ok , although we found a Hair in the lime pickle and sent it back . The starter was adequate for two people , But then had to wait for our table to be cleared. When our main Currie's which was tikka masala and chicken sagwala came out with the kema nann they were barely warm the only thing with the main course that was hot was the aloo gobi which we had to wait for to be bought out. The restaurant was virtually empty apart from 4 people sitting behind us . I did complain and was asked if I wanted to have a repeat order to take home to which I said no , if I wanted a takeaway I'd have stayed at home and eat rather than coming out . The food normally is nice but in all the times we've been it has never been at a constant temperature in my opinion to serve . Or bill came to £38.15 all we got was sorry they took nothing off the bill to compensate the cold mains . The guy serving us made us feel as though they wanted to close as their was virtually empty restaurant. I will be spending my cash some where else from now on very disappointed and dissatisfied.
