Coffee here is nice and reasonably priced. The staff always seem like they’re forced to work here. The male staff member in particular is very rude. Never speaks to or acknowledges the customers.

Well situated in the Swiss Cottage Sports centre & skids soft play so gets a fairly captive audience. I do quite like this place for a quick snack and coffee, however the atmosphere is a little charmless (although to be fair, some of the staff are great). On the other hand portions are massive, even if quality can be average (aside of chips... which are pretty good). Would be so nice if the place had a face lift and strengthened its overall quality... which would entice us more. But, as said... mot short of a captive audience.

I dine out a lot and travel all over the world, but this has to be one of the worst restaurants I have experienced. Very busy. No staff acknowledgement. Booked a table and called before hand to comfirm but was rudely told there was no booking and the staff did not even care! Managed to find a table, dirty amongst several others. Lot of staff who seemed to all be rude behind the counter or eating and having breaks! Went to order. Totally rude lady, very abrupt. I asked for still water and had the toast with poached eggs. Awful. Cold, hard toasted dry bread. Despite asking for eggs well done, it was runny. Food dumped on table with no cutlery and had to go get it ourselves. Also told to go and get my water out of the fridge. I could have taken 10 bottles, the staff would not have cared. Save your money and don't go! Yes, they have a huge selection on the menu and the pastries look nice but that's it.

I was very disappointed by the food at Del’Aziz. After deliberating for some time over whether to spend a fair amount of money on breakfast, I decided to treat myself to poached eggs and bacon. The cost £6.95. The eggs were stone cold as was the bacon. The eggs were tasteless. The sourdough that was not sourdough, was wet and soggy. The whole experience overall was dissatisfying. I would not recommend this cafe as a place to come to if you want food.

We recently held our son’s 4th Birthday party at this venue and have to say it was an excellent all around experience. I pre-booked through Magda the manager (very helpful)who suggested food for both kids and adults as well as decorations and additional party optional extras for the children (face painters etc). We were given our own spacious area in the restaurant and had our own decorations which they happily helped us set up early dedicating members of their team - headed up by a very lovely Roshni - on the day to make sure the event went smoothly. Food and drinks came out promptly as our guests arrived and the quality was good. At the end the children and most importantly our 4 year old headed over to the soft play in the leisure centre happy and smiling and we had a pretty stress-free experience, no mean feat for a party. We would definitely recommend Dell Aziz to other parents looking for a good family venue and minimal fuss.

The venue offers ample space with plenty of seating in a cozy atmosphere with an unusual view of a semi-olympic swimming pool (four storey height space). Excellent stop-over after the work out at the local leisure center (Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre). Good for freshly squeezed juices, brunches, and hangouts. The staff would not bother you here if you would like to spend time doing your reading, work etc. Quite a bit of people traffic outside due to the sports centre but here you can truly experience the pulse of the local sporting community. Good place for hang out especially for families or for mothers who want to have a quick coffee where they can let their kids roam free in the place. Location is great, atmosphere is very beautiful and most waiters and managers put on a real effort; some, their very best. It could be better: food options, customer satisfaction, business sense... Somethings will be missing despite being on the menu, the limited menu options will be cut even shorter to make you order a certain kind of food for dinner, staff will get an unpleasant and unintelligent public scolding of a higher up once in a while, you won't go there because of a dish you really want to taste again and prices are not good at all. Also, for a great while, in the pick of the school season (when the place is thriving with people), they closed for remodeling the kitchen; nothing changed in the beautiful restaurant ambiance. They opened when the schools were in recess; when the place is practically empty. Assumption: couldn't find the contractors and architects to work all their aspiring changes in a more convenient time for the business; but at least the kitchen is new, bigger and improved, food will be better and more options will show up... Noooooo! Couldn't be farther from what happened. That was exactly when they seem to have narrowed the options.

I come here regularly as the only convenient cafe near the leisure centre. Snail-paced service. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes for a hot meal. Cakes are excellent but the prices are extortionate: £15 for two slices of cake and a juice recently. On top of this, staff are very very rude, always seeming grumpy, slow and depressed. They do not smile, walked away from me in the middle of my sentence and when I asked if I had left my wallet at the counter answered : "I don't know" and walked away again. Two different people did this and I should point out that this was not at a busy time. From now I will be avoiding whenever I can as this is not a one-off experience and I've had enough.

I have been here few time and I always found the male cashier (south asian, looking 40 guy) quiet mean. Once I came there and didn't know they were closing (it was about 5pm) and I asked if I can get something and he was only "no, you can't get this" or "no, you can't get that" instead of saying "sorry we are closed". How nice is that?Last time I came there cause I was waiting for my friend after swimming lesson. I went to the bar and ordered the salad, wanted to wait it there. He asked someone to prepare it, I was surprised to get it in the take away box, not asking me if I want to eat it in or take away. I took it, sat at the nearest table to the door and started eating. Then he came to me and started loudly speaing "You cannot eat take away food here" ... so I told him I was not given an option, noone asked me and he said "I am sure I asked you" ... if he asked me I would tell him I want to eat it in. Then he told me to leave the restaurant ... I was shocked, not only looking stupid infront of other people. Seems like they enjoy embarrassing people in this place. We had about 25 children plus adults for a 5th birthday party. When we arrived (ten minutes late), the table was ready, service was great and it was lovely and peaceful (after the soft play opposite peace and quiet was welcome!). Party bags were arranged, balloons were up, partyware on the table. We got the exact area we wanted, which was great. I really recommend you request the far corner, by the pool, right at the back of the restaurant, it makes you feel as if you have your own private space and there is enough room for the children to wander around without getting in anyone's way and they peacefully watch the swimmers go up and down (hyperactive boys included!!). The food is absolutely awful though. Organising the party was a hassle, staff are very unresponsive over email or phone, claiming they are short staffed and busy, which I am sure is true but not a good reason when you a cashing out a large sum of money for a party! The food choices are unhealthy or very limited if you choose the healthy options. The food looked like it had been prepared first thing in the morning or maybe even the day before and the humous and tuna looked very dry! Really unappetising. There is no room for pricing options, which when considering how bad the food is and how limited you are for choice, is simply a rip off.

If, like me, you go here because it is the closest option after going to the swimming pool at the leisure centre then I advise you to summon up your energy reserves and go elsewhere. I liked the soup on the menu so chose to have lunch here. However after sitting down the waitress said the menu hadn't been updated with today's specials. It would be so much simpler if they just wrote today's soup and salad on a blackboard instead of having to constantly print updated menus. Perhaps they could put those cost savings towards a reduction in their charges. The alternative choice I made was an "artisan" sandwich. The addition of "artisan" seems to also add £3-4 to the price as we were charged £7.25 for the privilege. I asked to not have it toasted. They brought it out toasted and asked if I'd change my mind and take it anyway. No, I said. Not long after I paid (and was automatically charged a service fee) we went to McDonald's down the road as we were still hungry.

I used to come here when my daughter was a baby, some 7 odd years ago - it used to be reasonably priced back then. so imagine my shock (I am a born and bred Londoner, so it is hard to shock me at the best of times), when I returned with her (now 7), following an event being held at the library. We were three. We ordered exactly 2 slices of apple strudel (good, but not gold-plated), 1 brownie, a tea and a coffee. Now you'd better sit down at this point, or you may fall over in shock.Total cost - £24.90.Inclusive of service (which was fine, possibly a little over zealous at times - maybe they feel they need to justify their extortionate costs?)I blanched and asked the manager to remove service from the bill, as I felt it was too expensive. The best bit: HE CLAIMS HE CANNOT DO THAT, BECAUSE IT IS COMPULSORY, UNLESS THE CUSTOMER HAS AN ACTUAL PROBLEM WITH SERVICE.This, for the record and from a legal viewpoint, is a LIE.Service is not compulsory, it is OPTIONAL and at the customer's discretion.Nice try.He also claimed that as his cakes were bough in from outside caterers, this somehow justified the cost.Really? No, it doesn't.£6 for ONE SLICE OF STRUDEL is beyond ridiculous.I pointed out to him that the total cost of our afternoon snack would buy us an entire lunch at our local Turkish restaurant, off the Heath.I dont like being lied to.I like having money extorted out of me even less.Do yourself a massive favour and give this place a very wide berth. There are plenty of far better and cheaper food outlets around the capital,.Let's hope this place gets its just deserves sooner rather than later and fails completely, before many more people are conned.

The manager sorted out a solution which fitted around the other activities we had at the centre which meant the party was a success and went ahead just as I originally planned.Mistakes do happen from time to time but I tend to judge companies in how they handle mistakes and unhappy customers. In this instance the restaurant really stepped up to the make and sorted the problem which they deserve praise for.The food was good, arrived on time, and the service at the party was attentive and efficient.Well done!

We waited half an hour for our "aritsan" sandwiches to arrive, when they came it was two bites and they were gone, portion size was very small for the price paid (over £13 in total for two small weak coffee's and two half ciabatta's). All in all, it was an experience but definitely not one I will be returning to as it wasn't cheap at £12-15 for a main.

The food in Swiss Cottage is as divine as the other restaurants. This location appears to be popular for childrens' parties which majorly detracts from the ambience (when compared with the other Del 'Aziz i.e., Fulham). If you want great food, no problems. If you're seeking atmosphere, wait until after 'bedtime' and enjoy.

I met a friend for dinner at Del Aziz in Swiss Cottage. I hadn't realised that we would have a poolside view, but watching the swimmers do their lengths was more entertaining than distracting. The food was yummy and my veggie friend had lot of options to choose from. The selection of cakes for pudding looked spectacular and the portions were enormous, but somewhat disapointing in flavour and a little dry. Overall a fun evening.

We went here prior to a visit to Hampstead Theatre which is a few yards away and found the food and service good. The location is rather strange overlooking the swimming pool and we were concerned that it would smell of chlorine - but it certainly did not. Service was attentive and the soups were especially good. We would return if in the area again, or try another of their locations.

My husband and I have eaten here a few times in the last few weeks, and it can feel rather different depending on what day or time of day that you eat there. Owing to its location at a leisure centre, it does tend to be fairly busy with mums and young children, and at weekends there is a surge of childrens parties. However, the food is really fresh and really good quality. However, I was a little disappointed with my fruit smoothie, which at just short of £5 seemed to be fairly watery rather than thick with fruit.

Chosen for its proximity to Hampstead Theatre and the good reviews (which must be from friends/relatives of the owners!) we arrived at 5.40 to an empty restaurant, were totally ignored by the staff, saw a table with my name on it, eventually someone came over and bought menus but could not explain any of the dishes. Waited over 40 minutes for food which was cold and tasteless. Managed to get waiter's attention, said food was cold, she shrugged and walked away. I asked for the service charge to be deducted from the bill, this was removed without anyone even asking why! Why is this place featured on toptable? We would have had a better experience at Macdonalds!!

Four of us ate pre-theatre dinner at Del Aziz Swiss Cottage. There's no 'meeting and greeting' - a notice invites you to take a seat, and we chose a table overlooking the swimming pool. We started with a mixed meze, which was very fresh and enough for 4 (it would have been generous for the 2 it was intended for). My companions decided to go for the doorstopper toasted sandwiches. I chose halloumi in pitta but the waitress returned 5 minutes later to say there was no halloumi. The main course was ready before we'd finished the starter. Reasonable selection of wine and beers and a huge selection of teas. I'm sticking to the breakfast/lunch menu in future. The ambience is also livelier during the day.

I ordered a sandwich which to sit in costs £7.25, and to eat out £5.95. Now you'd think that would be it, but I also got charged a £1.50 'service charge'. And the bread was stale. And my pot of mint tea was £4.75. I think I was mugged.

Family trip to London and planned to start the day with breakfast del'aziz style. Our suspicions should have been first aroused that quality service was not a high priority when it took the waitress 20 mins to take our order. Despite not having many of our first choice menu selections, we nevertheless ordered eagerly. Some time later we reminded our errant waitress of our existence and subsequently some food and drink was left at our table. Well this waiting time had not been wasted as they had used the time to bring my coffee up to the temperature of molten lava, a feat of rare achievement that my old physics teacher would have been impressed with. Adding milk to this caused the drink to rage out of control over the cup and my hands. As the skin began to blister from the intense heat I went over to the sink behind the service counter to run my hands under the cold tap. A newly discovered fondness for health and safety must have taken hold of the waitress as she advised me I was not allowed to use this sink. Returning to our table, my daughter said she did not like the freshly squeezed apple juice or apricot jam. The waitress was obviously a keen student of children's psychology as well and she used the "learn the hard way" tactic and took away the juice and advised my 5 year old that she had ordered the jam incorrectly. We explained that we would prefer that our child was fed on this occasion and ordered replacement jam and managed to source some alternative kids apple juice ourselves from the fridge.I appreciate that for someone with such a flair for hot drink physics, child psychology and occasional health and safety policy, it is difficult to remember seemingly mundane waitress tasks such as smiling, acknowledging customers, offering advice and checking if the customer is satisfied. I therefore wish our future nobel prize winning waitress well in whatever mode of gainful employment she considers suitable. My daughter rather uncharitably suggested she should be a traffic warden. I reminded her that even traffic wardens have to deal with the general public.Later that morning when our bill was delivered, a service charge was surprisingly included in the bill. I can only assume this was a policy designed to get some tips from the weak willed and profligate of visitor. I asked this to be removed from the bill expecting to have to explain in detail the reasoning behind this. This is obviously a regular occurrence as the manageress simply corrected the bill and asked me to pay.If you like breakfast to be a challenge, are in no hurry to finish by lunchtime and are so shy you would prefer not to be acknowledged by your waitress, then this is the breakfast location of choice for you.

We went to Del Aziz in Swiss Cottage on Friday night as we were staying in a hotel nearby. There was nobody else in there (could have been down to Summer holidays or people staying away because of the olympics). We had the set menu and a smoothie (highly recommend the smoothies). Great balance of vegetarian options. I am not a vegetarian, but really enjoyed the vegetarian dishes). We were very full by the end of the mains, but they were happy to box desert to take away. I don't know how they managed to keep such a large range of deserts when the place is so quiet, must be busier during the day! Finally, have to mention the pool. We had a table overloooking the leisure centre facilities. Very different! Gives you something talk about!

Del Aziz in Swiss Cottage has become the venue of choice for about seven of us who need to get together once a month for an evening meeting. The location is great for us but we also go there because of the atmosphere and food. Unfortunately on this occasion, though we had made a reservation, a table was not reserved for us. It was a quiet night so we were ok. The food was great.

Lunch at Del Aziz before a matinee at the Hampstead Theatre. Ambience is very informal and family-oriented. The regular menu and the day's specials offered a wide choice. I had the vegetarian stuffed peppers - a generous portion with two whole peppers - and my partner chose the salmon. Both were very fresh. We shared a chocolate-covered meringue which would have served four - it looked good but the texture resembled polystyrene. Will go for the choc cake next time! Enormous selection of teas and coffees. Service was prompt and pleasant. This was our first visit to Del Aziz but we'll definitely go again.

Del Aziz is a chain of Mediterranean restaurants. On the plus side, the food is good and there is a great range of drinks and cakes if you just want a snack. On the negative side, service can be a bit hit and miss and it’s not cheap for what it is.This branch is always packed with mums, babies and buggies. If this describes you, you’ll find it very welcoming. If you’re looking for a quiet lunch venue without a lot of kids – go somewhere else.
