Hummy Yummy in Camden

Came across this rather appealing Lebanese & Mediterranean Restaurant passing through Kentish Town Road so as it was lunch time thought might as well stop here. Their was only two outdoor tables, one was occupied but the rest were inside so chose to sit outside. I spoke to the girl in the occupied table outside and asked what she had ordered as it looks very nice and said she had it before even said this place was ok. It was £5.99 special of the day Chicken Escalo with white boiled rice, salad and spinach. I ordered the exact same with a banana, pineapple and mint fruit smoothie only £4.50. When mine arrived it looked like a poor imitation, nothing like the same order of the customer previously. no spinach, not much salad and the escalo was much smaller, also I got pilau rice not white basmati rice but it was ok and I was starving so just ate it. What griped me the most was the owner coming outside lighting his cigarette and sitting down in the other table, were is the respect to your diners when smoke is blowing straight across your food whilst your eating. I am not as explosive and angry as I used to be and am now more tollorent and respectful to others around me so rather than the old me whom would cause a massive argument I chose to be reserved and say nothing instead and just let him continue smoking his ciggi but chose to return his rude manners by making sure he got zero gratuity. Sadly, when it came to paying the bill I was not paying so much so much attention and was very blase with my contactless card and it was not that the gratuity was included as it wasn't as I had checked with him but he charged me £10.00 for the special not £5.99 and £5.00 for my fruit smoothie not £4.50 so all in all I was ripped off big style by a massive £4.51 I only noticed when I checked my bill whilst waiting for a bus back to Camden Town. Talk about bad manners of the restauranteur and the fact he blatantly ripped off his customers but what I also noticed was that the place only had one smoothie maker and he never even washed it so I am hoping he at least does that when making others but who knows......but the place was packed with dirty dishes and he seemed like he was doing everything himself. I wouldn't go back and would certainly not recommend this eatery, plenty more along Kentish High Street and probably more cleaner and hygienic too as the toilets were absolutely minging.

I came here with my daughter for lunch. It is a very basic and lacks atmosphere. There are only 4 small tables at the front and a small room at the back but not very attractive. We choose to sit at the front but the door was left open on several occasions making it quite cold. We ordered a falafel sandwich which was quite tasty but the moussaka mush was a real disappointment. It was more like an aubergine casserole but as not particularly tasty. The portion was also small it came with rice and salad which over shadowed the moussaka mush. We ordered fruit shakes which were the only saving grace. Be warned it is not possible,to have all the choices on the menu only fruit in season is available. It’s a shame this was not pointed out when the menus were given to us. I am sure there are better eateries in the area.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went to this restaurant with two of my friends expecting a cheap veggie meal. The seating here is very bad, if there are more than two of you then you have to go into a dingy room with no windows and dirty tables. We were all given menus and only one of them had little stickers over the prices making them far more expensive. We asked the waiter if this was the correct menu and he said yes. So we ordered two starters which were cheaper; some hummus and an aubergine dish. I saw the man heating up the aubergine in the microwave which i didn't mind because i thought it was going to be a cheap meal. The food came in small dishes and the hummus was very bad, not fresh at all and very loose. When we went to pay, the man said that it was 10 pounds when the menu said it would be 6 after we asked him if those were the correct prices. he said the prices on the board were the real prices (even though we were directed right past the board) and was extremely rude to me when i complained, telling me that i was wrong and he was right and he could charge me whatever he wanted to. i said that i would pay but not come back and he said good i don't want you back here. so we were basically forced to pay because he was literally shouting and being intimidating and it ruined the experience.

Very unusual place that I've never noticed before. Popped in on a whim! They serve Turkish mezze style dishes and have shisha facilities. Falafel was amazing!

Avoid this place, waited for 45 min to wait for shisha and a plate of chips. We ordered 1 ltr of juice for £5.50, when the shisha did not come nor the chips, we went to pay for the juice. We explained, that we waited for far to long and ask multiple times. Each time we was told 5 minutes. The woman then rolled her eyes and said you need to pay for the chips and shisha. I told her how you expect me to pay for something you did not make. Then she said £8.50 for the juice, i told her the menu said other wise and she said that menu is old and we updated the board at the entrance. I said there is no way I am paying you more for a menu that you gave to me, you should of put these menu's in the bin otherwise. I finally told her that i will report them to the council for malpractice and the consumer right group. She also had a choice that I pay her £5.50 or leave without paying. She finally asked for £5.50. Very stressful for what was supposed to be a relaxing evening. They should just close and let someone else use this space better.

Fantastic fresh falafel wraps, filled with fragrant chilly garlic chutney, friendly service, affordable price. Well worth the trip. Will be back

Food was great and customer service was flawless, really lovely experience.Great vegetarian food choices!

Microwaved rice, rotten tasting meat, oily salad, overpriced and a super rude customer service - all they want is money, he tried to overcharge me for my food. And honestly, the food is bad. No wonder the restaurant was completely empty even during lunch time (I went there around 1pm)

Food was excellent, good price, service was EXCELLENT. Such a lovely team working there. Falafel was amazing!

Questo piccolo locale in kentish town è una buona oasi per una piccola, dolci, caffè, the e piatti caldi particolari e grande gentilezza della signora presente dietro al bancone quando sono andato io. Prezzi alla buona!

This great place just catered lunch for 60 of our staff here at Camden Town Brewery and it went down an absolute storm. The staff were so great and friendly and everyone told me how much they enjoyed. Can't recommend enough.

The menu promised vibrant food, but after a 15 minute wait due to poor staffing and the fact that they forgot my order I was finally served some ok food. While I was waiting I did get to witness the staff at work, dropping plates, half completing orders and moving on to the next, people wandering off and picking up orders but not knowing who they were for. Sadly I do not think I will return :(

Je vous conseille les jus de fruits frais et l'assiette mixte. Les serveurs sont très aimables. Il y en a un même un qui parle français. Les enfants ont pris un kebab. Rien à voir avec le turc. Ils sont fait avec des légumes frais. Si il fait beau demandez à aller dans le jardin intérieur, tranquille et bien décoré.

Lovely food and great service. In an area ripe full of overpriced gentrification food and drink. Real food at std prices. Lovely falafel.

Excellent place for a quick stop over, plenty of fresh and healthy options. Perfect for lunch and brunch. Fantastic selection of juices made on the spot -a whole fridge packed with fresh veg dedicated for it! Atmosphere could easily improve with a little music but definitely recommended great spot. Will be coming back for sure.

Awful food! Had to wait for ages! Left after 20 minutes wait for coffee and mezze... they bought us some disgusting vine leaves which were so old and dry it was inedible. Sorry :(

weird - think they changed management - not sure - really slow staff that dont know what they are doing and it isnt helped by the really bossy boss. ordered a smoothie and it took 10 mins and the cashier was rude

Freshly made delicious juice and delicious filling chicken pitta wrap made all the better with a warm friendly smiley reception when I arrived. The place looks very clean and all the food looks exceptionally fresh! I will certainly be back soon.

We where just wandering around when we found this place. Outside I tried the falafel and I was sold. We had great food! Hummus, sandwich and something whit spinach ;) very nice owners! We will definitely come back and try more delicious food!

The services is very good, the food is exelent, fresh juice are wonderful. My favorite juice is carrote & apple, and the toasted ciabatta is wonderful.

Do not visit this place! I ordered the halloumi wrap, it arrived with a very long black hair inside. When I told the waiter he took it back with no apology and another was brought to us, this time it was freezing cold and the halloumi wasn't even cooked. When I once again told another waiter he said 'no English' and walked away. We waited 20 mins for two milkshakes and when we asked the waitress about them she apologised and said she forgot to make them. It was then another 10 mins before they arrived. Overall very expensive and terrible experience. Bad customer service. Will not be visiting again

Great fresh food, always happy to accommodate. Menu has a lot of variety and the staff are always so friendly.

Have poped in a few times now on my own and have always enjoyed the food. The owner is very friendly and helpful.If you like service with a smile and healthy food at a good price I would definitely recommend!Easy parking right out dude the front door too!

This is a very friendly cafe serving great Lebanese fast food. The vegetarian dishes are all delicious - very tasty and healthy and generous portions. I had a selection of 6 the first time I visited and it was great but I just couldn't eat it all, despite being very hungry. The selection of 3 I had the second time was plenty, especially with some juice. There are meat and fish options too but it will take me a while to work through the vegetables first!They also do a wide range of fresh juices as well as sandwiches and boxes to take away. And good espresso.

They have a very good juicer and blender for their drinks. All kinds of fresh fruit and veggies blitzed into delicious drinks. The mango, apple and papaya (number 9) is my favourite. They also do falafel and other middle eastern dishes. Handy for a quick and healthy lunch.

During the first visit, Hummy Yummy dazzled. The chef who cultivates these dishes is a true professional and I was impressed with the quality and speed of the service. The variety of food, most especially the vegetarian dishes, is a refreshing and exciting selection. I enjoy my time each visit and it's becoming my favourite not only in Kentish Town but in London as a whole.

Walking down Kentish Town Road, I suddenly had a feeling for healthy food, so i ventured in. I had the large meat meze plate. The lamb got the dreaded microwave treatment and wasn't better for it. The salad was served on a plate not even the size of a dinner plate. Hence I left still feeling hungry and went to nearby E mono. Didn't bother with dessert at HY as the meal thus far didn't convince me that it was going to get any better. This place is a welcome addition to the area, but needs to be careful with portion sizes and the use of the microwave!

Had a pita full of tender chicken, baked aubergine, tabbouleh, tahini, hummus, spinach and all sorts of other yummy goodies. Very friendly staff, very reasonable, nice garden at the back

Looking for a quick, non expensive dinner we found this new place on Kentish Town Road, the ingredients and meals on display through the window looked colourful and inviting so we went in, although there weren't many people inside. But the service was good and kind, and the vegetarian dish (including 6 different mezze) big and tasty. You can have sandwiches, pitta wraps and proper mains (many vegetarian options), and lots of fresh fruit juices and milkshakes.Worth a try and retry.
