5 y no 6 libras.

Avoid this place !it's a terrible advert for Lebanese food (which I love normally ) I went as part if a large party for a friend's 40th birthday !we weren't even given the option of ordering off the menu , but instead served up a frozen pastry , single vine leaf ,tiny chicken wing hummus , pita each .then ,eventually another pita each with a plate if small chunks of meat between 4 people !! The wines ALL tasted like "gone off sherry !" (Therefore had option of bottled beer only.... the Peroni on tap ,we were told wasn't available !?!) There was one water jug for the entire restaurant ! The toilets were absolutely disgusting !there was only one out of two in working order ! They stank ! There was clearly s drainage problem ! No toilet rolls (this was at the start of the lunchtime sitting !) No soap in men's either ! At £95 for 2 persons (tiny amount of mezze and total of 5 weak beers) this "glorified greasy spoon- Lebanese style" is clearly all about minimum effort (resulting in very low quality prepacked food) and maximum profits !!! A RIP OFF !!!!

Popped in here 2 weeks as we like Lebanese food and were in the area. The décor and ambiance should have told us everything. The humus must have been from a container, not home made, the main course of chicken and my mixed grill was dry, looked unappealing and the portion size was small. All that for £30 a head, including one glass of Rose and a beer, I think not!

This places gets the stars for the food - we were first in at 6.30pm for dinner and even though they;d been open a while it felt a little like we were in the way at first. It got much better as it went on but they were short handed and more focused on take away orders at times.Worth a visit for well priced food and a decent room but be prepared for a degree of slow service (but when they do appear they are very friendly!)

Booked this as an easy pre-cinema meal, but the service was terrible from the word go. It took 20 minutes for the frankly rude waitress to take our order. Then we had a succession of lukewarm mezze dishes, served in dribs and drabs, again as far as 20+ minutes apart from first to last. The meat dishes were pretty good (though sadly they turned up last), but avoid the pastry dishes like the plague. The Lebanese wine left a lot to be desired, especially at 27 quid! I appreciate they are having some building work done at the moment, so maybe usual order was disrupted, but I certainly wouldn't hurry back there.

We booked this restaurant for my sisters birthday on a Friday night. I thought it would be a pretty pleasant experience given the positive reviews on Tripadvisor. We arrived at 7pm, and to be honest, the starters were positive. They weren't overwhelming, but definitely positive and plentiful. There were 18 guests altogether, and they were all well fed in the starters.Vine Leaves: (4/10)- Really not nice tasting at all. Little rice and tomato, overwhelmed by the vine leaf and lemon.Hummus (7/10): Nice hummus, but the chick peas in the centre were undercooked and lacked seasoning.Falafel (8/10): Tasted good, needed more sauce though. Sojok (8/10): Again, nice tastingFatayer (5/10): Spinach was unseasoned. Wasn't very nice overall. My girlfriend and I also ordered 2 extra dishes:Sambousek (8/10): Tasted good with light pastrySpicy Potato (8/10)The problems began after the starters. We waited for 90 minutes between starters and main courses! 90 minutes! After asking the waiters and owner repeatedly in the first 30 mins, response seemed minimal. Only after 45 mins when I walked over to the grill, did I see the cooks put the kebabs on the grill. Disgraceful! Everyone was getting hungry and annoyed, and the more I was told it was being seen to, the actual fact that it wasn't! Now, we expected decent portions for the main course. Again, disgraceful! Between 6 people we had 3 chicken shish's and 2 lamb kofta's! Are you kidding me! That's 2 pieces of chicken and half a lamb kofta for main course! And that is off the set menu! That came with 1 piece of bread. The rice was only brought out after I requested in to be, and the salad was enough to feed a child. No sauce, no quality. It was a disaster and a disgrace. Not only being 90 mins after being served, but served with so little! I gave the owner a deadline of 9.45pm that I needed to be out. It got so late that I asked the desserts to be brought out with the mains. And we didn't even have time for tea or coffee. The meal was worth £6 or £7 from a local take away place, but being charged £20 per person was a rip off. Not worth it in any way. I was hugely disappointed by the place- and that too on my sister's birthday. Will never visit again.

Was going to a gig and planning on eating elsewhere but noticed a "pre-Theatre Meal" offer so gave this a try. Great value meal - not quite up the standards of the Lebanese cuisine that I came to love in the Middle East, but still good and excellent value for money comparing to other restaurants / pubs in the area. Well worth a visit to enjoy the numerous small dishes provided. We were very happy and would go there again if in the area

My husband and I visited Mezza Express with a kgb coupon and had a lovely lunch. My starter of hummus with lamb strips was tasty and my husband really enjoyed his starter of Lebanese sausages in sauce. Our mains - mixed grill for me and chicken for my husband - were accompanied by rice, salad and flatbread. Pudding was the pudding of the day - rice - which was fine. The kitchen was downstairs and I thanked the two chefs when they popped upstairs for the lovely meal. Service was by a charming young waitress and I would certainly return.

I was lucky to be taken to this restaurant by a friend of the owner. We were treated to a banquet of wonderful food.Rather than chose items from the menu we asked for a selection of different dishes to be shared by our group of six people. Our table was filled with probably 12 or 15 plates of lovely food, different humus, sausage, salads, spinach leaves with rice and much more with some flat bread. For our main course we had a very large platter of chicken pieces, prawns, small kebabs, lamb shanks and salads to share. We were looked after very well and would chose a selection of small dishes again if I have and probably will have Lebanese food.

If the health & safety visited this place it would be shut down... Where do I begin?! THE OPEN KITCHEN WAS IN THE DARK!! There was no smell of food and only the sound of a microwave?! The one waitress wasn't going into the kitchen for food, she was microwaving bread behind the bar and getting food from an unknown place upstairs..........!!!! Out starters of potato and bread came and was disgusting!!! Tasteless and clearly straight out the microwave! It was so awful that when our main courses came (also microwaved) we had to get up and leave. I told the manager I believed it was microwaved food and he said " we don't own a microwave" and then just walked away from me?!? Unbelievable...This place is n absolute con, clearly shutting down and a huge health hazard!! Amazing food, fair price, the best service I have ever had in London. A friend and I shared a few mezzes that were all absolutely delicious. Not dirt cheap but not expensive either (we ended up here after deciding the tapas place along the road was too pricey). Really surprised to see negative comments about the staff, maybe we were lucky as it was quiet but I can't fault the service and the staff we talked to were very friendly.

I have been to this restaurant twice and both times have absolutely loved the food, but the service really lets the place down. On Friday I waited 15 minutes for a drink order to be taken and had to ask 3 waitresses to take my food order but they all seemed completely clueless. Trying to get a second drink was just as hard, I don't understand why there are so many waitresses in the place and only the manager can serve you? Also the tension within the staff certainly impacts the experience, they are often bickering and they are clearly stressed out which doesn't make for a relaxing environment at all.The food however is incredible, cooked to perfection and full of taste. If the service was good here I know I'd be more of a regular but I find myself frustrated at constantly having to ask for things. For this reason I don't think i'll be going back for a while.

Went here with a friend using Tastecard so starters and mains were 2-4-1. Sadly the prawns weren't in the deal so my friend had to settle for sea bass - which she said was v good. I ordered a mixed chawarma dish but the waiter advised me the mixed grill was a better deal for me as I got more meat! This was typical of the service which was friendly but not overbearing. It was really tender and quality cuts (I am fussy about fatty meat) so it was a good choice. The whole meal with drinks and service cost £30 which was v good value. I would visit again with or without the discount.

I visited Mezza with my family and found the experience to be a negative one and will not be going back. I bought vouchers from the internet which included two starters, 2 mains and 2 glasses of wine. Prior to purchasing the voucher I called the resturant and wanted to know if I could replace the wine for soft drinks and was told that this would be fine. When we visited the resturant we were told that this not possible. The manager was loud, rude and dismissive. I had to purchase additional drinks. When ordering the food we were told that sea food and mix grills were not part of the deal. We also found a fish bone in the food, even though we bought meat dishes, again the manager was in denial about this. The starters were average and the main dishes were dry, tasteless and with not much meat in it.

We were initially allocated a table in the dark at the back so rejected it and were given a table for 4 at the front, although there were just 2 of us. The maitre de was very friendly and hepful with our choices to start with, but when we were leaving there was no goodbye or thank you - we just felt ignored. The food itself WAS excellent and we recommend the prawns and mixed grill. We were there with a taste card so had 2 for 1 on mains and starters, as a result we had a service charge slapped on of £5.85 which seemed very cheeky to me, and I think they were just looking to make some of their money back. As a result I felt a bit ripped off and disappointed and although I really enjoyed the food I'm now not sure I'll go back. It's a shame because I could eat those prawns every day!

From the name I thought it was more fast food especially considering where it is in Camden but my boyfriend brought me here and the food was lovely. Looking at the poor reviews I am curious, all our food was piping hot, and I've eaten bad houmous before and it certainly wasn't bad when we ate here. The manager was very friendly and helped us with our choices, especially considering my food allergies. My boyfriend had the mixed grill, which looked lovely, but I was far to full to help out. The lamb looked lean, but as it's notoriously a fatty meat it's not one of my personal choices but my boyfriend noticeably enjoyed it, and cleared his plate.

I remember this restaurant used to offer a lunch buffet. It seemed to me that what is not sold is brought back to the restaurant on the following day, irrespective of the date the meal was cooked. Once I had a sort of vegetable rice and it wasn't freshly cooked. It seemed to me that the rice has been staying in a pot for days. I went there last year and tried a chicken dish. It was OK, but was a bit suspicious about the freshness of the food.

Went here for a work birthday lunch. The food took ages, and the Seabass turned out to be Tuna! As a result we were late coming back from our lunch break, and none of the party felt the food was awful. Strange to see the good reviews by other users, which makes me think perhaps the chef was off sick. Nonetheless, it was no excuse for such bad quality food and unapologetic staff. The only plus would be the starters, which were decent and the decor was fairly nice, but that doesn't make up for the rest of the service/food. I will NOT be coming here again unfortunately, as first impressions always stick with me.

I thought I'd write a review for these guys having eaten here a few times now as well as taking friends and family. I am not going to say whether this is traditional Lebanese cuisine as I haven't eaten Lebanese anywhere else so am basing my review purely on food quality and service. Firstly I think this place is real value for money. We have never ordered off the main menu and only ever go for hot and cold mezzes to share but these are always delicious, good portions and the manager who is ALWAYS there is happy to make recommendations to you.. He is also very friendly and welcoming. We went last night for about the 10th time and for the first time in 10 we received an undercooked fish dish. I sent it back and the manager came over and apologised personally then replaced it with a whole sea bass for the same price. I know it shouldn't have happened but I could not have asked for it to have been dealt with better. The hummus here is the best I have ever had, very creamy and they always end your meal with free baklava/other sweets. If you want 5* dining go elsewhere, if you want good value, good quality mezze to share after the pub with your mates in a clean place with good service, this is it.

We eat regularly at various Lebanese Restaurants but all 4 of us were quite disappointed at Mezze Express. There was a distinct lack of charm from the Waiters who took little interest in our dining experience and when asked for warm pitta bread it rather than the cold which was first served, more cold pitta was delivered. The portions were on the small side although the houmous was tasty. The chicken livers were not hot as promised but very lukewarm and overcooked. The starters were generally poor. The main courses were again not served hot and the chicken was dry and overcooked although the flavour was good. There are so many alternatives in Camden that we would NOT go back again.

The food was tasty, the starter with 1 falafel, hummus and some salad etc was very tasty, but we were then full for the main! Good deal for £9.90 together, but I would say that it is too much food unless you are totally starving! The vegetarian Moussakaka (?) not quite a moussaka basically, comes with some rice - was nice although a bit oily. Were given free baclavas after the meal which was really nice, just wish I had an ounce of space for them!!The waiter has a friendly very outgoing middle-eastern manner, the atmosphere was okay, but I would recommend making it feel more cosy with the lighting etc.. and the silver sign outside doesnt do it justice, as it appears a little 'kebabby' from across the road.We would go back if in the area and wanted to eat Lebanese. Being lovers of Lebanese food and having eaten in some of the best Lebanese restaurants in London, we decided to try Mezza last night. After all the positive reviews, we were really looking forward to it. I had pre-booked but they put us on a table right next to the serving drinks area which was pretty distracting. Within 2 minutes of sitting down the manager was harassing us to order. He kept saying because you have a 50% discount offer you have to be quick and he was pretty rude to us to be honest and made us feel like second class citizens. The starters came quickly and to fair, the starters were amazing. The homous was the creamiest I have ever eaten. Again whilst were were still eating the starters they were taking away plates and putting out our cutlery for our main courses! It was really rude! Not liking being so rushed (and having planned a leisurely dinner) I asked for a break before our mains came. 10 minutes later they arrived! My brother and I both ordered lamb shawarmas. The meat was horribly fatty (as in some of it was just lumps of fat and no meat) and grisly - it was inedible, so I called over a waiter. He said, "you obviously do not know how shawarmas are made, that is the recipe and how they are supposed to be". Again really rude. They did change our mains for a lahm meshwi which we shared as our appetites had been ruined with all that fat! Never again!

My friend had booked for a party of 12 , however on arrival the manager had told us that he had given our table to a large walk in group. My friend had confirmed the booking with the restaurant via text and email, however the manager stated that as she had replied out of his working hours he could not confirm the booking. He said that he had called us multiple times but by the time he had called, we were already on our way to the restaurant and were underground and as such, didn’t have reception / service to receive or pick up a call .He then stated that we could sit in the lounge but we would have to leave by 9pm (1hr 30mins) as the lounge would be prioritised for those who wanting to watch the Anthony Joshua fight. He then gave us a second option of waiting an hour until the walk in party had finished.
