An excellent meal, couldn’t fault it, so friendly with high quality food and wine, pizza was especially could with homemade deserts

We had a lovely evening out at Del Mar, a friendly welcome with a choice of tables to sit at and delicious aromas coming from the kitchen. With lots of dishes to choose from we were spoilt for choice and even when we asked to combine elements from one dish (monkfish) with those of another the manager was very accommodating and made sure the kitchen made the necessary changes. We all had delicious meals and were quite full but were tempted to have the tiramisu when the manager told us she had made them herself that afternoon - if you go to Del Mar whatever else you order make sure you try the Tiramisu!!

Lost count of how many times we’ve eaten here, never disappoints. Authentic Italian cuisine definitely a highlight of Perranporth’s eatery options.

We were in Perranporth for 2 weeks and went to the Del Mar 4 times. Every meal was excellent. The Seafood Linguine is superb and from the specials the Monk Fish and Scallops was chosen by all of us on different days and was just delicious. The atmosphere is great and the owners and staff are lovely. I can't recommend highly enough!

On our yearly visit to nearby Newquay we decided to visit this restaurant after having looked for an Italian restaurant somewhere close to where we were staying and a restaurant more than 8 miles was all we could see. We could not have been more happy to have came here as we were warmly welcomed and sat at a seat facing the chefs. The food and service were both great. The price was similar to back home looking forward to another visit next year.

The food was fantastic, and the service was both friendly and prompt. I would certainly return. It's the first time my teenage son finished all his food and didn’t even have pizza! I highly recommend this place.

We dined here twice in one week and found it to be the best restaurant we experienced during our trip to Cornwall. The friendly staff enhanced our visit significantly. The pizzas are enormous, featuring a wonderfully crisp stone-baked crust. The mussels were fantastic, and the prawns were sizable. We also enjoyed the lamb shank and the chicken del mar, both cooked flawlessly. I would highly recommend this place!

We was so looking forward to going in here as the menu looked amazing,my starter was avocado with prawns ,the prawns was the size of small maggots ,my partner had squid which looked like ringo crisps ,for my main was penne pasta in vodka with prawns again prawns were tiny ,no taste of vodka either ,my partner had beef in brandy sauce with pasta ,not much taste to brandy sauce

This restaurant offers genuine Italian cuisine prepared fresh from scratch. It's quite bustling and highly popular, so be prepared for potential delays in service and food. If you’re in no hurry, the wait is definitely worthwhile. Italians savor their meals, particularly during holidays, without a sense of urgency. If you’re looking for quick bites, you'd be better off heading to McDonald's.

Went for a family meal for my birthday food was delicious but service atrocious. My daughter asked for Parmesan cheese and was asked if she had ordered it!! After we had eaten our meal we asked for a box to take rest of a pizza home. We were astounded to see a £1.50 charge for the SMALL sprinkling of Parmesan and a £1.00 charge for the pizza box !!! Also for some reason they are incapable of splitting a bill? Needless to say we won’t be recommending it or returning.

The food is not to bad I’ve had worse. The staff could be a bit more attentive. Be prepared to wait a good 30 mins or more for your food after they take your order. Expect slow service because it’s what you will get.

Absolutely amazing food!! I think it was the best pasta I’ve had in a long long time paired perfectly with the garlic bread! Service was wonderful, she was a lovely lady named Sulema. Absolute top class restaurant!!! Food and staff are excellent!! Food is as good as Mayfair standards! Prices are great- you can watch the chef cook everything from fresh. The waitress Sulema was super lovely and looked after us! Thank you Del Mar.

This was our second visit here. It is run by Sulema and her husband William, who is the chef. The service and food are amazing, real home made food. The apple pie is the best ever. We look forward to returning.

Utterly superb! We had steaks that were cooked to perfection. The service was excellent too. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Del Mar to anyone looking for a special night out.

Good honest food - pizzas very tasty. Wide selection of pasta dishes and other Italian specialties. Recommend to drop by if you're visiting Perranporth.

As usual we had an excellent meals here over our weeks stay. Always so fresh. Never had a bad meal in all the years weve been coming. We sit outside as we have a small dog but the staff are always happy to see her and get water for her. Always prebook as they can get very busy. My fav in Perranporth.

Always a good meal from the Del-Mar! Food is cooked fresh to order and you can see them cooking. Quick service considering all the menu items and fresh cooking. On holiday in Perranporth for a week we went to Del Mar not once, but three times. It has become one of the highlights of our Cornish holidays. Marvellous food and wine, top class PIzze and pasta and the Swordfish was out of this World. Economically priced, no unnecessary frills, just great food, good service and a wonderful environment. Other people seem to complain a lot about this restaurant, but we greatly enjoy a place where the focus is on first-rate food and a well chosen and well stocked wine cellar. We will be back another year I am sure.

The restaurant wasn't too busy but there was still enough people to create an atmosphere. Our food was as good as any we've had in any Italian restaurant and we had no complaints. Even though the food was of a high quality it was still reasonably priced, as were the drinks.

Amazing choice on the menu. Misto percent was piping hot and delightful, as were the halloumi sticks. My meal of chicken/asparagus risotto was a little light on the meat, but delicious. My guests had the salmon tagliatelle, which they enjoyed. So full couldn't manage dessert.

Very bad experience: They accepted our booking a week ago by telephone. We arrived to find the restaurant closed. They had not contacted us to indicate that they would be closed and both Google Map and Tripadvisor showed that they were open. We traipsed from restaurant to restaurant to be told that they were full so Birthday girl had to settle for fish and chips on the beach wall! Thank you Del Mar for your incompetence.

Despite some pretty bad reviews we decided still to go. We booked in advance and found parking right outside. The waiter took our drinks order which arrived promptly. After a few minutes he returned to take our food order.. After a short wait the food arrived, absolutely delicious piping hot and just as ordered. Avoid avoid avoid. Most rudest place i have ever been too!! Im not one for leaving reviews, but if i can stop anyone asting their money then please read! The service is absolutey shocking. The lady is just so bloody rude, she walks off when your half way throgh your order, i asked her about wine and she just smpy walked off, had to call her back twice! she got all our orders wrong. If your child is 8 or looks older than this but is under, dont get expecting a kids meal, they refused all 3 children kids portions and had to pay full price, because the lady guessed they were 8 or looked younger. Wasted food. Dont get your child to ask for Ketchup either, when my son asked for some withhis pizza, they were mortified. Now if it was a proper Italian i get it but this place the way he looked at my son and questoned him, wheer are you going to put it? The man went man and in italain started venting to another member of staff as he wanted ketchup. The food is so bland and they got one dish completely wrong. Now along with Ketchup dont get asking for extra Parmesan either. They gave us a sprinkle, when i asked for an extra sprinkle he again went mad, a child asked for some on his food and he lterly threw it everywhere. He wasnt happy as i had now had three spoon fulls of cheese on a bland pasta dish. They are just so rude i dont know how anyone would want to go there. The kids left saying they were scared to ask for anything. Then the best part....... They charged us for extra sprinkel of Parmasen £1.50 They will charge you for a box to take home a Pizza, which you didnt order that size... £1.00 Dont waste your money, this was for my birthday and i would ratehr of gone to weatherspoons next door!

Tbh this place was dead. The owner was rude to a family that went in to the restaurant in front of us ☹️ they walked in and he rudely said “have you booked” to which they responded “no, we rang ahead and got told to come down as there would be a table” to which he huffed and puffed! Not a good start…. We went and spoke to a woman at the desk who spoke perfect English and was very polite, and then our huffy puffy owner came over and said “why are you speaking to her? She doesn’t speak English” poor woman. When we got the pizzas they were dry, crispy and no flavour. The shack next door has way better pizza, and much nicer owners/staff. Don’t waste your money here.

Food was excellent, however having spent £150 on our meal were disappointed to be charged £1 for a box to take away our pizza. Also the waiter disappeared with our credit card without asking us to accompany him to get Internet. A little worrying. Don't think we will return
