Just tried the Smashed Burger from Deep Sea Takeaway in Edinburgh, and it was incredible! Everything on their menu is top-notch. Great flavours, fresh ingredients, and perfectly cooked. The burgers have that ideal smashed Turkish style with a perfect mix of juiciness and crispy edges. The sides are just as tasty and make the meal complete. Highly recommend this place if you’re after a quality takeaway in Edinburgh!

Honestly, such a hygienic local shop. Impressed with chefs patience in (designing) the pizza. Yes, he is so keen about toppings. Turned out to be my regular to go place.

currently have food poinening after eating here. at the time it wasn't too bad but tasted a bit strange but now i have such bad stomach ache and vomiting. not surprised that they FAILED their FSA food inspection.

Had a great experience at DeepSea! The fish was fresh and perfectly crispy, and the chips were thick and golden, just how they should be. Fast service and generous portions. Definitely one of the best spots for fish and chips in Edinburgh. Would highly recommend!

Very poor. Bad chips. No chippy sauce. Chip roll was served on a burger bun. Chip rolls are meant to use Scottish morning rolls. I suggest the owner tries someone else’s good chippy to see how it’s done.

Worst takeaway i’ve been to by far, the pizza tasted like soap and i threw most of it away as I was as feeling sick and later got food poisoning. The chips were like sand and it was all too overpriced. Definitely avoid given how many good takeaways are nearby

I ordered pizza and fish and chips. While the pizza was fine, I was very disappointed with the fish and chips. The fish itself was cooked, but the batter was not fully cooked, leaving it doughy and unappetizing. This made the meal unenjoyable and raised concerns about food safety.

Love this place! Their chips, cheese, and gravy melts in your mouth! Quick service and good portion sizes. And the staff is exceptional :)

The chips are not fresh and the quantity of chips is not great so we got a fish and chips supper as well as a separate bag of chips but the chips were not fresh and mainly just horrible and crispy. We had to throw it out. I don’t recommend this place. We gave them a three times chance to get things right but we didn’t

I have just walked 15minutes across town too try this place after checking opening times etc online and they are supposed to be open 11am to 11pm. When I arrive 12:40 the door is wide open and the "open" illuminated sign is on with someone behind the counter. I walked in and the man behind the desk doesn't even look up and says "No". I replied I'm sorry are you not open? He just sneered at me No not open. Whilst I appreciate this may seem minor I have just wasted my entire lunch break to walk here hoping to buy some food and the staff member doesn't even have the decency to say string a full sentence together never mind to say " I'm sorry we have a staff sickness" or whatever his reason was for not operating during his advertised hours. I would avoid if this is there customer service I doubt the quality of food will be much better

Fish and chips were Amazing. Went back 3 times in one day while visiting Edinburgh. The wrap is also amazing

£21.00 for a half pizza crunch supper and a portion of onion rings, a rip of is an understatement, far too much batter, the pizza was way to thick I couldn’t even eat it. And hardly any chips in my supper, not to mention that they hadn’t been properly cooked, don’t waste your time going here the food is shocking!

Just checked my online banking to discover they double charged me for a fish supper! Don’t pay by bank card, if buying from here. I visited the shop in person & was not provided with a receipt, so was unaware at the time.

Ordered food guy didn't show up called up in the morning about a refund all I got was lies saying he buzzed the buzzer didnt bother phoning us and he got angry and said to never order again from there. Trust me buddy no one wants to order from there after what you just pulled.

me and my friend went and took the fish and chips supper. It was really bad, starting with the chips how hard can it be ... it was the worst chips I have ever had. For the fish it's the same really bad I couldn't even finish it. Such a waste of money. Never going again.

I recently dined here and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. The fish was of poor quality and tasted horrible. The calamari rings seemed to have been fried repeatedly, resulting in a tough and unappetizing texture. Additionally, the fries were neither good nor hot, adding to the overall disappointment. In summary, it was without a doubt the worst fish and chips I have ever had in my life.

Friendly service and great food

This place used to be good but things have changed. Not sure if it was because it was quiet but paid £3.50 for a portion of chips which were so so dry and stale / chewy despite salt and vinegar. Would not risk going back when Giulianos and Eatalia are so close.

My favourites are the falafel and chicken zinger wraps but any wrap would be great cause it's the flat bread and the sauces that's most delicious ever!

They don’t do chippy sauce even though they are in the capital of Scotland! Better going to other chippy’s!

Rudely served on Sunday night and payed £15.75 for two chips and cheese with mozzarella sticks and a garlic mayo. Garlic mayo was nice. Chips were okay but quite hard. Mozzarella sticks had a very dark hair on when the box was opened. Will not be back. Do not recommend.

An incredible takeaway place…. The gentlemen are charming, and the food is super delicious. They have vegetarian options. If you are a spicy lover you have to try their sauce because it is tasty but I warn you that it is quite strong.

This place is under new ownership- the chips are freshly cut and fried to order - burger cooked to order all very tasty. I was served by the new owner - a very happy chap who has great service skills.

If you are looking for an authentic Edinburgh experience, I plead you to visit Deep Sea Chip Shop. Arslan, the main worker, is possibly the friendliest man who you will ever meet in a chipper. We loved Edinburgh and Arslan made our experience in this great city ten times better. Furthermore the food was incredible, especially the deep fried mars bars which were easily the highlight of our trip. I rarely leave reviews on any sort of establishments but I feel Deep Sea truly deserves the upmost praise.

Essentially, followed my nose into this delightful place on our way to our rooms the first night in town, and we keep going back for more! Tastes as good as it smells. Hubby and I love their Doner kebab, and I was impressed by the portion size and freshness of the fish and chips. Don't believe me? Check the pics. He got the piri piri chicken & cheese topped chips today, yummy!! Tasty, fresh food at a low price compared to every other place of its kind in Edinburgh. A real gem!!! Editing because I forgot to mention the atmosphere: the place is small, but the staff is friendly, and I like the background music.

Brilliant place. I had a mixed donner box and my wife a fish supper. Both fresh tasty and amazing value for money. Made to feel so welcome. So if you can't get a table at any of the nearby rester aunts a braw wee cheeky dinner awaits. Thank you Big Pol and mrs Big Pol xxx👍👍

Bought a fish supper very late night and was so disappointed. The fish was fresh and the chips were fantastic but ithe fish had clearly been fried ages ago and was semi cold and it was fried in either old or dirty oil. Shame as there was a steady queue of people coming in and out so I thought everything would be fresh. I also asked for only a little sauce, and the dude drowned the chips! I'll give the place another go as it would have been a great experience if I asked for a fresh fry, provided the clean/ change the oil next time!

Very unhappy. Ordered fish and chips last night as a delivery. Happy with delivery time, food was hot, chips were lovely with their brown sauce, all good. However, can’t say the same for the fish. I broke the fish apart and all I could smell was raw batter, cooked on the outside but definitely raw inside. Ended up just eating the fish inside and when I finished, I picked up the battered parts and they actually flopped over and felt heavy. The smell and feel of the uncooked batter actually made me feel sick, has certainly put me off fish and chips for a while. Really a shame because if it had been cooked properly I would have easily enjoyed and be writing a much better review 🤮.

This is my second visit and my second review, after trying the wraps I and had a shot at the pizzas they’re offering. The hot and spicy pizza was yummy. There’s definitely some magic happening here. I dud try other shoos on Leith walk, so far, can’t get this out of my mind :)

Have just tried the peri peri chicken wrap there. Must say it was terrific. The wrap was fresh and the wrap was spicy and juicy, just as it should be!

An ideal place to eat a good fish and chips the food is so good and the best of all you have an endless supply ofsauces to choose from to add to the dishes. The people that work there are super friendly, I totally recommend it for a delicious easy dinner.

We had some incredible jalapeno poppers (they don't always have the ones from scratch, but if they do get them!!), a "small side salad," and an epic pizza. The marinated chicken is extremely good but with spinach, feta, and peppers it was a game changer. I'm not sure if this will be two or three meals worth of food, but extremely worth it.

Pizza is absolutely delicious. We asked for half and half pizza (one half olives and one half mushrooms with chilli on everything) this was not a problem for them. And to top everything off - there was a perfect amount of cheese! Highly recommended especially for late night orders.

New managers are knocking it out of the park. Wish that it wasn't so affordable, and so good, as the amount of gym time I need to do now... But strongly recommend. Almost everything is from scratch and it's a game changer. My parents came to visit and I brought them here, and it was their favorite meal of the week long trip.

An excellent hot meal in the early hours of the morning. Staff are absolutely lovely and have to deal with some incredibly rude drunk people and they still serve everyone with a smile.
