Had pensioners. Found the fish small and chips at best Luke warm. Served on a very small plate. Not worth the price. Service not great but short of staff, should have done just takaway .

Really pleased with the fish & chips we had the other night. The batter was light & crispy, the fish nicely cooked and the chips were hot & crispy too. Nothing was wasted.

Starting off with grimy cutlery wasn’t a great first impression. Then came the fish – tasteless and under-fried. But the worst part was my wife’s fish burger: the bun was literally as hard as a rock. Disappointing experience overall.

Wasn’t interested after we sat down, when I asked the girl at the counter if it was waiter service, she said there’s only two of us, we left as did another man who came in just after. Took our business to Lounges of Lymington. Shame on you

Popped in on a wet Sunday afternoon and was met with a smile and great service from Chloe. Really good fish and chips, would recommend the fish bites as well as Deep Blue! Will drop in next time we're in town.

On holiday in Lymington and we wanted fish and chips. The reviews were very good, so we decided to try Deep Blue. I went at around 7.30pm on a Tuesday night and they had closed, though the shop was just open. The young female apologised that they were closing and offered what she had remaining at half price. Fabulous! Thank you. The fish bites were particularly tasty and the curry sauce was great too.

Restaurant was very clean.The batter on our fish was light and delicious. Chips excellent..mushy peas spot on. Two clear plates. 10 out of 10. Staff polite and cheerful too.

Only got a takeaway but was served very quick and was cooked fresh and to order

Lovely place with friendly staff, for some classic fish and chips; as a bonus, the lunchtime snack box deal for £4.99 was incredible value - I’d certainly go back

The chips were very undercooked and raw in the middle, clearly lots of chips were put into the oil at once which cooled the oil down, honestly terrible. The chips are clearly frozen in. Customer service was pretty poor, staff clearly didn’t want to be there and it showed. Very narrow corridor we all had to wait in and group together.

Short of staff , long wait for take away food, worth the wait though, food very good.

My regular stop at lunchtime - staff are always very friendly, service is swift and the food is tasty. Can't recommend this place enough if you're hankering for a good chippy.

Visited yesterday at 6.30pm for a take out for the 1st time. 3 young staff running the store who all looked like they was called in to work out of no choice and rather be elsewhere. Very slow running and some disconnection between the staff. Waited in queue for 30min to then be told there was no cod left just small sized haddocks. Others in line behind us was unaware and unimpressed when they over heard there was no cod for a fish & chips shop! Some wasted their time queuing and left. So I waited another 25min for the 3 regular chips, sausage and 2 small haddock (1 was senior meal) costing £30. Now I wouldn't mind waiting *55mins* and paying that if it was great tasting but unfortunately the chips was very over cooked and the haddock was over fried. I have never waited that long in any chip shop before yet alone tasting as bad, I won't be visiting again or recommending it. The Manager needs to oversee the service running especially in expected peak times.

Seriously good fish and chips, the best I’ve had in a long time. Cooked fresh to order, batter light and not too oily, chips just perfect! Polite and really good service from the young lady that served us. Would definitely visit again next time we visit Lymington.

Read the mixed reviews but gave it a go. Oh Dear! On a Friday evening at 1850 there was no fish available ,in a fish and chip shop! only fish bites (think chicken nuggets) Staff apologised but I was quite gob smacked. Would not recommend given such a poor experience on a Friday evening one hour forty minutes before closing

Chips were quite tasty but a bit dry, and the service was decent. They had an allergy menu immediately on hand. However, the curry sauce was the runniest I have ever seen. It was so watery! The fish and chips at the Wetherspoons nearby was cheaper and nicer though. The halloumi bites took a long time but were ok.

Went with 9 members of our family for fish and chips , no cod , no curry sauce and no mushy peas , after taking my order the incompetent children behind the counter refused to serve my cousin as they needed to stop orders , no reason given !! Meaning two of our 9 group would not have food for 30 minutes . Even after explaining this they just shrugged off our concerns and polite request for them to be served. Completely upset with the service , the attitude and the child like service from under trained staff and no real adult supervision !!! Be warned

Came here as a family of nine. We all ordered food except for two and then was told not taking anymore orders for at least thirty minutes. Explained we were all together and was told no more orders. They had no cod no curry sauce no mushy peas and terrible service. Ended up asking for a refund as after spending over 100 pounds no point in having the food as part of the family got nothing. As for the staff. Ran by kids and absolutely no management input.

DEEP BLUE NOT so great British Fish and Chips Lymington. Trading on its location near the Lymington Quayside, £20 for two tiny portions of less than fresh looking fish… In my opinion

All six of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The staff were very efficient, extremely freindly and really helpful. We would all strongly recommend Deep Blue for a delicious, hot and reasonably price meal.

Over priced, Tiny portions & huge wait time. Order three fish and chips today, a Small, Regular and Large. The Small would have even fed a toddler and the large was a medium at best. Very over priced, £45 for 3 fish and chips and a drink. We also stood outside for 30mins waiting…. Never again, use Pennington chippy as is much nice and better value.

Spent £17 for a large portion of fish and chips. Took it away and while eating discovered all the skin and scales had been left on the fish - Not just a few but all of them. I I tried my best to scrape it off but they got everywhere and made it mostly inedible. I don't mind a bit of skin, but the scales were just quite revolting. For such an extortionate price, you would expect it to at least be edible. Would definitely avoid. *Edit* - after seeing the reply to this review, I sent an email to customer service. They offered a £10 voucher as a "gesture of goodwill" which is a bit of a joke when that wouldn't even cover the cost of the original meal which was inedible.

We have been going here for YEARS, we go every summer holidays as it is about an hour half to two hours to get there but with traffic took us 3.5 hours.when we got there the restaurant was fairly empty so we went to sit in and when it came to ordering my sister wanted a sausage and chicken nuggets on their own as she can’t eat potato’s, they wouldn’t allow us to pay for just them they said that would would have to pay for the meals and just not have the chips which is a lot more than just them on there own. , which we found extremely odd and like they were trying to get more money,we had also ordered it that way before so didn’t understand why they couldn’t now. one of the workers were extremely rude and kept rolling her eyes, and the way she approached the situation was almost like we were asking them to make something not on the menu, but they did say we could pay normal prices if we got a takeaway so we did, and when it came to ordering we asked for a fish and chip meal which is £9 something i believe as we looked online and on the board I was told, she charged us for a large fish and then a large chips separately, when it came to ordering it was a tad stressful as we had to make sure the kids got what they wanted and at the end I went to check everything was there but she took it as we wanted more and starting adding more which we had to clarify that like I said I just wanted to check. when it came to eating, the large chips was not that different to a small it made us laugh, so I would suggest making sure u get enough chips and not thinking that a large would feed most of you like most chippys, the food was nice, the chips were good the cod was nice and the chicken bites were very good. they didn’t give us 2 battered sausages and one plain, they gave us 1battered and 2 plain which would of caused a fairly big kick off if I didn’t give mine up due to the kids being young. that was annoying. the curry sauce was so salty but if u like salt u can bare it. I have to say that the customer service is absolutely shocking and as someone who has such bad social anxiety it did make me want to cry as I felt like asking for stuff which is on the menu was asking for too much. We used to love the way it used to be and the way they approached stuff but now they are so rude. We will return to see if this was just a one off but I feel like it isn’t after seeing them treat others rudely aswell. In the end it cost us ALOT due to them not giving us kids meals like we asked but charging us for them separately and then the large meal aswell.

£20 , fish was the size of two fish fingers, batter was so crispy had that burnt taste and fish was very dry inside. Chips were soggy obviously warmed up from earlier in the day. Would never buy from here again

I had lunch with some friends at this lovely place. If you want authentic fish and chips this is the right place for you, big portions and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Great service and friendly staff too

Great fish n chips location. Disappointed with the scampi. It was processed scampi bites and watery with no flavour. But the chips were good. Have to mention 40p for a sachet of Tatar sauce. Ridiculous! Ate mine in the harbour.

On holiday. We always make a point of coming here but since the refurbish the restaurant looks amazing, very clean, lovely atmosphere and served very quickly by the lovely efficient staff. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Andrea (Bolton)-

Ordered a small portion of haddock and chips as a treat, the fish was so fresh and the batter was perfectly crispy. Honestly one of the best fish and chips I've ever had.

Delicious fish and chips with quick service even though it was busy. Both fish and chips were crispy but not overdone and the portion size was perfect. They have a great selection of meals, including options for kids.

Very disappointing. Menu on screen flicks through too quick to read. When I asked staff if they have a written menu, a blunt "no" was returned. The chicken bites were missed off order, so had to wait. They put salt and vinegar on and only because I asked for it. Chips were cold. Fish was good. Pea fritter was dry and inedible.

Great fish and chips, the food was brilliant, there was an allergy folder for any dietary requirements, and the service was excellent. There is an option to sit in or takeaway which allows flexibility too! Would come back again!
