Dee Dees Cafe in Lincoln

Awful! Just been today 6th July 2024, and it was awful! There wasn’t nearly enough staff in so a que quickly built up. Serving time was beyond slow (we waited in line nearly 30 minutes with 4 people in front of us) with a lot of things on the menu out of stock. We were told the wait time was 10-15 minutes for food so took our seats. 35 minutes later we still had no food, we went to cancel our order just as the food came out. The gravy was watery, chips smelt and tasted like chemicals and it all get very processed and like it was heated up under an armpit! Gross! Cafe food is never going to be amazing but Christ, it wasn’t even average cafe food. Bad, slow service and below average food - avoid like the plague!

I never write reviews but i’m genuinely in awe of how a café can be THIS bad. my best friend and i were shopping and wanted something to eat. she asked for fried chicken and chips, and there were no chips so she got coleslaw instead (she doesn’t even like coleslaw). then i asked for a jacket potato and chilli which was advertised on a sign right by the till saying “order while stocks last!” but they didn’t have it. so i ordered a full english, which they also did not have. i ordered a chicken caesar salad, which was anything but a chicken caesar salad. it was limp purple and green lettuce, onion, almost gone off mushy tomatoes and the most disgusting chicken i have ever eaten in my life. we barely ate any of it and left. it was shocking. i actually feel sick. don’t waste your money. the only good thing that came out of this was the bottled apple juice from the fridge.

One word … Poor. Waited 45 mins for three meals to be warmed up in a microwave. Staff blamed dodgy equipment. Lasagna was more burnt than the fires of hell. Kids sausage didn’t look cooked. Staff were about as useful as the equipment in the kitchen. Best bit of the afternoon was the parking outside

This is the 3rd and last time I visit this cafe. All 3 times the service has been poor. It’s been 2 years since my last visit and will not be returning. Still waiting for food ordered 45 mins ago. The don’t serve in order of orders so even other customers were commenting on our wait

Picked a table and then ordered two coffees and two ham and cheese toasties, which were already prepared just needed toasting. Took coffee to our table and enjoyed them, then waited for toasties!! Fifty minutes later they arrived, cafe full of people waiting, many getting disgruntled. Absolute shambles, haven't got a clue what was going on neither had the staff. We'll go to Asda next time.

Absolutely awful full English breakfast. Was the worst I've ever had. First I had to send it back, the bacon was stone cold. When they replaced my plate, they brought out a fresh new breakfast which I was grateful for but was so bland and tasteless. The sausage was so over cooked and warmed up, that it was like eating rubber. The beans had zero taste to them and my egg was mushy. Genuinely the worst full English breakfast I've had. A table sat next to me, even commented on how bad theirs was. I wouldn't eat from there again, was a waste of money sadly

Cafe is now called Eighty Nine. I came in here whilst waiting for my car to be serviced nearby and, well, it’s below average, let’s put it like that. Ethan is a really nice lad and his customer service is excellent, the other girls were okay, very polite to me, but when they all went into the kitchen it sounded like they were slagging other members of staff off. I had a veggie breakfast and well, the egg was crispy and looked as depressed as I feel on an off day. The veggie sausages were dry and hard, beans alright, didn’t eat the mushroom because I don’t like them, but the hash brown was flat and hard as well, looked like it had been run over. Toast was nice, as was the coffee but it’s Costa Coffee. Probably will only call for a coffee next time.

Absolutely brilliant. Ethan on the till was very helpful, and on the food they were very helpful too. They even helped chew my food for me! 10/10 service. Will be coming again!

Terrible cafe, had to get the manager over to complain about hair in food, no apology at all, her response was “ok” then she cleared the food and drinks away, my daughter had to request a refund, which we did receive but still no apology! We witnessed two other tables of customers complaining as we left as well. Shocking customer service and the two other staff members seemed very miserable. The manager should be better with customers and colleagues.

I'm not sure what it is, but I'm not sure how the staff feel. They just always seem 'unhappy' shall we say?

Child’s chicken goujons were so hard I struggled to cut them. More difficult for my child to chew. Chips were undercooked. Jacket potatoe skin was so over cooked and hard it was inedible. Child’s meal was a waste of money. Thankfully the coffee was ok.

Good place to grab a break during a shopping trip.

Such an amazing experience ... nicola was just so welcoming. We had previously had a few bad days and needed a pick me up. Never been to this cafe before. Despite being inundated, nicola, serving on her own, was happy and upbeat. Her Operations Manager checked in on her to offer his support. Again, amazing. She told us he did that always. Such a great experience. Ready to shop and spend we did!! Will defo revisit. Thank you 😊

Dreadful. Pizza half burnt and half raw. Staff looked generally miserable and whilst we were eating, nobody was serving. We saw 2 sets of customers approach and then leave. Unfortunately we were served.

Yeah DeeDees cafe in The Range Tritton Rd Lincoln. It's ok for a bit of a break when your in the range. They have Costa coffee but you cant use your Costa app or card so no points. I think it's quite naughty of Costa not to give you points but they do that in a lot of their franchises. Food is ok for a bit of a snack or light bite but I've not had a main meal so cant comment on that. I had to ask for my coffee to be made a bit warmer as it was only just warm but the staff were fine about it. I'd use it again.

Staff was unfriendly. I understood she was stressed but there is no need to be hars. Coffee was very watery and the blueberry muffin didn't have any blueberries in it

All veggie options unavailable so opted for some chips. Came out as less than a handful altogether, not cooked properly, tasted horrible and charging an extortionate price for them, could have bought the whole frozen bag for less. Service was awful, clearly didn't care. Dont waste your time or money.

Wow this place is bad. £4.50 for a kids meal deal consisting of, half a jacket potato with cheese, apple, drink! This is expensive compared to a happy meal but felt it would be better than fast food. On receiving the potato, the cheese on top was not melted not surprising when the potato was stone cold. On complaining, no sorry was given, the food was nuked and then redelivered with no sorry, smile or any interaction. Avoid this place at all costs, save your money and starve.

Food is good and coffee is fine. Could do with being a little more proactive with clearing tables and sweeping the floor but otherwise fine for a quick stop whilst shopping.

We was waiting for about 15 minutes just to be told there was no drinks and no baps (no signs indicating this). Servers were rude, burger buns were burnt and we weren’t offered any sugar for our drinks. Overall a bad experience, wouldn’t recommend.

Very bad experience… first the queuing. there was only one person in front of me .We even had a chat about the time taken and the customer service. Placed my order a oat milk cappuccino and a breakfast bacon bap and a decaff coffee. There was One Staff member doing everything from taking your order, cash, drinks and food, not once was her hands washed, gelled or gloves worn, went and sat at the table, the cutlery station had no napkins it was empty, OMG… I looked down the floor was disgusting food everywhere, both drinks where horrible I got a refund for one, both of them tasted bitter and frothy 😝 mine gave me stomach ache, I will NOT be using this cafe again. It was only morning so there is NO excuses at all, if I could give less than one star then I would.

Wouldn’t even give this place one star. Absolutely horrific customer service, staff members lazy, rude, and honestly didn’t care. Will never come back here again and I seriously urge no one else to either. Disgusting. Very unhappy :(((

I went with a friend for a coffee as we were shopping in the Range.There were no sugar or cutlery available so had to ask for sweeteners and spoons. I went to ask for a napkin to be told they only give them out when asked for.Very disappointed with the standards and definitely won't be going there again.

Can't tell you what the food or experience was like because aome dim-witted manager failed to plan ahead for a Christmas rush weekend or react to a rush by calling in more staff. The poor staff were run ragged and couldn't cope. I dread to think how stressed they were. Anyway. We gave up

A well run café. Has a basic but lovely menu. Cakes are really fresh and all the usual hot and cold drinks. Always friendly service.

Where do i start. Decided to have lunch here today..4 of us after shopping for a good hour and a half....we started waiting in the queue to be met with what i can only describe as the worst gone off milk smell! Then proceeded to order 2 pizzas and chips, a chicken burger and a tikka with rice and chips. All came at different times...first my pizza and curly fries....fries raw...pizza still frozen on the bottom...my parters burger was that hard you could have put it through a window....fries raw again and no cheese as asked for...that was £17+ my sister and mum then had a pizza and tikka with chips and rice....mums pizza still frozen and again fries raw....on to my sisters curry...curry was actually cooked that much... the dish was that hot it came to my sister and was not told by the extremely awful and rude waiter how hot it was...she burnt her fingers and they blistered.....no staff cared less her chips was also missing came 20 minutes later to be raw still......honestly i dont think ive had a worse experience in my life and it wasnt cheap either....staff were appalling and the place was disgusting!!!

We called in for dinner recently whilst shopping with a baby and it was just awful; undercooked bland food and a long wait, even with plenty of staff around and very few customers? we saw that other customers felt the same as they left their food behind and walked out. it seemed expensive too and overall dissapointing, will not use this place again or recommend to others.

Absolutely shocking! It doesnt deserve one star. We stopped here for lunch as my children were hungry. The boys got served quickly half a dry jam sandwich. We then waited a further half an hour to be served a fish pie, cottage pie with cold peas and a quarter pounder burger with soggy fries which turned out to be a chicken burger!!!!! So the fish pie was served to me with dirt and fluff all stuck to it. I said the the server that I am not happy to eat that so I will have it refunded, he just looked at me. I went and stood in the queue and witnessed the server and another employee transfer the dirty fish pie into a new dish and then try and serve it to my table!!!! Astonishing!!!! So I'm stood in the lengthy queue again waiting for half a hour, I asked the server if there is a way I can receive my refund without waiting any longer. He grunted and said no. I then came over all faint, maybe because of the situation I was in, I had not eaten, been stood for along time, felt sick from being served soiled food and stressed and upset. I told the server I had come over all faint, thinking he would get me a chair or a glass of water. He looked at me and walked off!!! Luckily my 7 year old son came to check on me. I asked to talk to a manager to be told there isn't one. I sent in an email after and haven't heard anything back. The lady who helped transfer the fish pie asked me what my problem was?!?! She took my number to call me later, I'm still waiting. This was 3weeks ago. So all I can say is don't waste your money and avoid.

Asked the Lady serving for a bacon bap , to which she replied "No" very sudely and no other explanation. So i asked why not amd asked for a panini for her to say " yeah but you have to wait 20 minutes as there are orders in beffore you" there was 2 other customers there, very Rude amd obviously just didn't want to do her job.

The cafe is a joke. There was 3 people serving and only one of them was working. She asked one of them if he knew how to make toast and he replied, no?? Very immature attitude to everything and a totally messed up order, lovely cafe but appaling staff. It really shouldn't take 20mins to get a coffee and 2 rounds of toast 😡

Manager was serving and spent most of the time tutting. Ordered a chicken burger- the chicken fillet was frozen in the middle, told this to the manager to which she said “is it” and took the plate. Granted, she returned with another burger which was okay. Ordered this with a side of sweet potato fries which were also underdone and hard. Said to the manager ‘these are also underdone, but I don’t want anymore thanks’ to which she said ‘oh okay’ and took them and chucked them in the bin. Not once did we receive any sort of apology for the poor food or anything to compensate the undercooked fries and frozen chicken. Will not be returning

Love this coffee shop lady on duty was very friendly and the coffee and bacon bap were delicious 😋 👌 definitely recommend

Waited 25 minutes for 2 bowls of soup in a not very busy cafe. Think some of your staff need some training in how to deal with customers. Can't be 100% sure but think I heard a rather rude comment from a male member of staff when I asked where our food was.

What a Ray of Sunshine She was!!! (Not). Absolute misery guts. Told the lad who was following her orders, that we didn't stay in any of the seats/tables by the wall as none of the tables had been cleaned. They still didn't get wiped over... Won't be going again in a hurry. It doesn't cost anything to be friendly, joke or smile at customers, nor a minute to wipe a few tables.

They never seem to have any food options, are understaffed and staff who are there are incredibly rude!!

Never ate here but the toilets are really nice and it always looks clean.

Not the most welcoming experience in the world. Not expecting 5 star dining but to be spoken to the way you do by what it looks to be a manger isn't great. Not only speaking to customers, I can only put it like a piece of s**t 🤣 but other workers too. Also don't offer a full menu when next to nothing is available. I personally wouldn't bother.

We visited today, ordered two baked potatoes with tuna - the mayo tasted off and the potatoes were rock hard. My partner ordered a cheese and ham toastie on brown and received a white sandwich! Also ordered a chocolate muffin and it was as dry as the Sahara desert! The place was absolutely filthy!!

Absolute joke..turned up at 3 pm. Fancied fish pie. Not available.. Lasagna.. Not available . Whats the point having a menu board when half of it isn't available.. Time it changed hands to someone who can run it properly!!

Had coffee with a sandwich yesterday morning at DeeDee's with all the extra measures in place due to Covid 19 it too longer than usual which is to be expected,no problem with that, however to have ONE staff carrying out the whole operation and I mean everything : Advising customers not to take a table until they've been served first, requesting track and trace details, cleaning the tables, taking orders, making coffee, reheating sandwiches, taking the money. I didn't get the woman name but shes deserves a promotion,payrise,medal because she didn't complain once or have a rant at the company for the insufficient staff levels she just got on with it.

Meh Used to live in this place but had gone right do own hill. Most of the menu is unavailable, coffee machine frequently broken, staff clueless.

Ordered the pizza and curly fries twice and a toasted sandwich, not hot drinks being served only cold drinks available. Waited over half hour and when the food arrived is was shocking. Pizza base was raw and powdery, toasted sandwich was not toasted properly so the filling was raw and it also had burnt on crispy bits of previously toasted sandwiches. Disgusting and never will I return.

We went in on a busy Saturday lunchtime and the ladies were rushed off their feet, but their service was great and coffee and cake were spot on.

Once again good service happy lady serving us but not very busy at all.so that migjt be why the srvice was ok.

Need more staff, as questions for a while and one staff taking orders and making the drinks.

Would prefer to give zero stars, but Google won't let me! 3 pizzas with 3 lots of fries, and two jacket potatoes. Took half an hour to get all the food. By the time we got the jacket potatoes the pizzas had been eaten, and the fries arrived just as we were finishing the potatoes. The service was appalling, no apology for the length of wait, and it wasn't even as though they were overly busy (ordered at 2pm). The best service we received was from the Trainee which somehow goes to show what the overall service was like! Won't be eating here again!

Absolutely disgusting no jacket potatoes stale scones toasted sandwiches tasteless staff don't have any customer service skills tables not cleaned the list is endless no organisation at all surprised if it makes a profit

Lovely way to spend time with your friends over a coffee and cake. The staff could not be nicer.
