Authentic Hyderabadi dum biryani I ate so far in the UK

Today afternoon, we had the opportunity to be the first to try the new Andhra Meals at Deccan house, and we are happy to report that we are still alive and kicking! The meal offered a delightful mix of flavours and textures, creating a memorable dining experience. The Andhra Meals plate came with an impressive variety of items: a hot (crispy small Vada), a sweet (delectable Payasam), rich Chicken and Mutton curries, flavourful Prawn fry, tangy Rasam, and refreshing curd. The star items for us were undoubtedly the Mutton curry and the Prawn fry. The Mutton was tender and bursting with spices, while the Prawn fry had the perfect crunch and a delightful seasoning that left us wanting more. The Chicken curry, while tasty, could have benefited from a bit more spice—though this might just be my personal preference for a hotter kick. One notable missing item from the meal was Pappu (Daal). Whether you're indulging in a non-veg or veg meal. Including Pappu would certainly elevate the authenticity and completeness of the Andhra Meals. A special mention goes to Sakshi, who looked after us throughout our visit. Her attentive and friendly service made our dining experience even more enjoyable

Wow!The food was amazing!The waiters were also nice and sweet.this place definitely deserves a 5star review ,this place is the best Indian I have been all my life! If you want to try this amazing place out, then I recommend trying the chicken lollipops, poori and dosa.I also recommend mixing all of the curries together. Really try this place out it is fantastic!

Chicken biriyani is actually good and not that pricey. The chicken pokoda starter was dry we tried adding lemon but did not work. There was no sauce provided as well if you care about one. And the main reason for star on food is because we were given Pesaratu (Probably left out from the morning breakfast buffet on a weekend) when we actually ordered Masala Dosa which is ideally supposed to be made from Rice batter. Obviously there are people who will recognise and not prefer such swaps when a specific order was placed. It was a waste of money as we were not able to consume that. It looked more like a mix of different batters. Disappointed as there was no need to take the order if it cannot be fulfilled

Service is very good but the food is worse i went with my family nxt day i got a very bad stomach problem i checked with my friends late even they had the same we billed around £180 we order most of the dishes in the menu but other then chilli chicken rest all are so bad …

Deccan house is the best if you look for authentic food. We tried many dishes. All are yummilicious and our favourites are Mysore Bonda and cut mirchi. Even the chutneys are so delicious.Whenever possible we will be here for weekend breakfast buffets.Also they maintain good ambience and good service

Food is really authentic and taste is good

Food was really bad this time. Earlier i have been to the restaraunt and had few chicken starters which was really good. This time ordered chicken manchurian. The taste was good but i feel the chicken was not fresh at all. Also ordered poori masala which is a dish which will be basically tasty in all places. Here in thia restaurant this time, the masala was really very tangy unable to eat.

Family of 4 with two 8 year ones .. we ordered chicken biryani , cut mirchi , chicken lollipops , mango lassi .. all were great .. my favourite was chicken lollipops as it was spicy and authentic one .. biryani was great as well .. Had my first visit to this restaurant, Decided on a Chicken Biryani. One of the best I have ever tasted. Perfectly spiced to my liking. Service exceptional/friendly too. Would recommend!

Chicken Biryani, Mysore Bonda are the dishes for which we usually go to Deccan House as they are the best as Hyderabad. But tried most of their dishes Noodles, Dosa, Poori masala everything tasted amazing. Our Gruhapravesham catering for breakfast and Lunch was given to them which tasted awesome. My kids favourite place is now Deccan House to have authentic Hyderabadi food and vibe

Good Hyderabadi dum biryani with Andhra breakfast

We went in the morning on Saturday, 20th April. It was their first day of their breakfast buffet. The food was nice and had very nice chai tea. The idli tasted from pure Andra idli and the mysore bonda was soft and better than what I have had before in England. I recommend you go to the Breakfast buffet.

We went here to collect a too good to go surprise bag and we were very pleasantly surprised how good it was. We don't know what we had which is a shame as we'd happily order that again! We had two tubs of rice, it was yellow on top and brown underneath and very spicy! We also had two small pots of runny white liquid with thin slices of onion and carrot. We needed these to calm the heat 🔥 but it was very tasty! The inside of the restaurant is very nice, there is a play area for babies which I thought was lovely. There are quite a few tables too and all black and shiny interior. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Visit this place if you are looking for ‘Authentic Hyderabadi Dum Biryani’ .. we tasted chicken and mutton dum biryani and both are delicious and Mutton dum is next level with expected masala spices 😋same as in Hyderabad. Must visit if you are dum biryani lover 😍

I had some really authentic Chicken Biryani at this place that tasted like it was made with fresh ingredients.

I was searching for a Indian restaurant while driving back to London after a long journey and found this amazing place. The food here was amazing especially Mysore Bonda, the best I have had in UK. It brought my memories back from Hyderabad, and other exceptional dish from on the menu is the authentic Chole Bhature which was superb. My partner had chicken biryani and even that was amazing too. I highly recommend the place if you near Reading or looking for Indian food while on your way to wales from London. Unfortunately I haven't captured any pics as I was so into the food and enjoying it.

Just ordered chicken curry n paneer tikka. The taste was awesome. Spice added to the right level. The service is also good n friendly.

Soft dosa and only place with peanut chutney

Taste is consistently good. Mysore Bajji is my favourite here. We don't get this item anywhere else in and around Reading

Cozy small place, looks like newly opened in Reading. Loved the chicken curry, veg biryani and cut mirchi bhajiya. Definitely visiting them again. I was a bit disappointed that chicken biryani had ran out of supply.

Lovely food and great host!! Cut mirchi is must try. Even the Veg Biryani is very good. Chicken and Mutton Biryani was sold out. But some of us tried chicken curry and benne dosa which was great too. Rasmalai was also freshly made and had a perfect amount of sweetness.

4 of us tried Deccan House out for lunch today and we all came away very pleased. We started with a Dosa each (think savoury filled crepe with dips) and followed up with chicken biriyani x3 and vegetable biriyani x1. See photo of my Dosa with my glasses deliberatley included for scale! Quality Hyderabadi food with attentive and pleasant service.

We ordered Biryani for our party from Deccan House, and they delivered it on time as promised. The taste of both the chicken and vegetable biryani transported us back to Hyderabad. Every guest loved it. Thank you for providing us with authentic Hyderabad Biryani!

Disappointed Ordered Chilli Paneer, Chhole Bhature and Ras Malai. Chilli Paneer - More than half of Paneer was burnt, very hard, zero gravy, uncooked vegetables. Chhole Bhature - Chhole were not authentic in taste. Rasmalai was average. Waiting time - More than 40 mins for only 2 items. Ambience was good, Staff is friendly and Kind. Food was major disappointment.
