Visited this place for dinner with friends Ordered: Chicken Biryani, Lamb Biryani and Chicken Fried Rice Chicken Biryani 8/10 Lamb Biryani 9/10 and Chicken Fried Rice 8/10 We were served by Sakshi who was an amazing host and helped us with all what we needed to decide.

Biryani and Mysore Bonda are delicious 😋

I love adventuring South Indian restaurants and this pit stop was mind blowing!! Heights of deliciousness w mysore bonda and chicken lollipop as the highlight. It was a collection order with 2 separate orders from 2 parties (1via phone that had non-veg and other via justeat) and I was due to deliver the justeat order to a close veggie family who were in a hospital…Unfortunately the packaging was messed up and the items were accidentally misplaced between the orders that caused a bit of pain. Nevertheless mistakes happen and highly recommend this place anytime!

Small place. While the dishes they have are pretty good and very tasty, they could really do with some more options. Especially some more Deccan dishes, since their current selection of South Indian dishes are very good. The dosas are very nice and crispy and the most important thing is that they have very good chutneys which most Indian restaurants lack. Overall a very good experience especially the Karampodi Idly and Hyderabadi Biriyani

I visited 3 times to Deccan restaurant because 2 times my son and me likes food. So 3rd visited on Sunday but we totally disappointed on Sunday. We ordered non veg talli first time and I got smell from chicken and my son also didn’t eat food. I requesting to Deccan manager we are paying £15 for talli so we should give proper quantity of food and fresh . We should give always fresh food because we are coming with our kids. Staff was good very helpful. Chicken Manchurian and chicken biryani was good . But talli was disappointed 3rd time. So giving 3 stars . heath is important so please so please cook fresh chicken . I hope you understand.,thank you.

Amazing biryani (the best I have had in the UK)

A hidden gem in Reading. Beautiful South Indian dishes, the chef clearly knows what they are doing, everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Lovely attentive, genuine, kind service. A real gem.

We went on 18th October. Place was nicely busy, but service was fast and attentive. Waitress very helpful in explaining the menu. Food was am-az-ing! Plenty of choice up and down the spice range, amazing melt in the mouth dosa's, lovely chilli paneer, superb dahl and chicken curry. We could go on.....Highly reccomended.

Well I was picking up too good to go package here (basically leftover food for the day) and it tastes delightful and quite an amount, can imagine the rest of menu being absolutely delectable

We had lunch at Deccan House yesterday afternoon following a recommendation on Edible Reading. We weren't in any way disappointed - the waitress was so friendly - really helpful in advising us as to what dishes we might want to order. They were also able to tailor the spiciness of the dishes to our tastes. I especially recommend the chilli chicken, gobi manchuria and the biryani. Really good value too. We will definitely be back

So happy to have found this place. Amazing food and flavours which tastes fresh and homemade. Highly recommend the pav bhaji, chole bhature and paneer butter masala. The bread that came with the chole bhature was especially good. Loved that it came out in courses so we could make the most of each dish. Friendly, helpful staff. And the great prices just topped it off. We will be back!

We booked a lunch reservation for 12:15 PM through the restaurant’s website, and the booking was accepted. After a 30-minute walk to the restaurant, we were informed by a woman at the reception that they only serve thali from 1 PM due to a large catering event for 150 people. She suggested we return at 1 or 1:30 PM. Understanding their situation, we roamed around the area and returned at 1 PM. This time, a kind man received us. We ordered chicken biryani, a non-veg thali, and a starter 65. The starter was fantastic, and the biryani was good too. However, the newly launched thali was average; the rice was cold, and the curries were not warm. The mutton curry and prawn were nice, but the rasam was missing and replaced with sambar. Overall, the thali was below average. Additionally, the papad had a hair in it. When I informed the lady, she laughed and brought a new one, saying it wasn’t homemade. I expected a small apology, but the girl was not very welcoming. Despite this, I wouldn’t try the thali again, but the starter was the best part of the meal.

Absolute best biriyani in Reading . Highly recommend.

The food was amazing. We have ordered two mutton biriyani, one chicken lollypop and one chicken pakora. All the items tasted so good with good quantity and quality. Mutton cooked so soft and really nice. Highly recommended. Parking is still hassle but can be sorted on the streets nearby or can check with restaurant to find more info.

We came couple of times to this restaurant from Basingstoke. Both the times we had wonderful experience. First time we have veg meal and 2nd time had biryani.

We had an amazing experience at Deccan House, always warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and the service was incredibly fast, serving delicious starters and Biryani’s. Biryani was almost same as the one we had in hyderabad. Visited few times and the quality is consistent every time .

The service here was very excellent 👌, delicious food and great service, brilliant atmosphere and a warm, cozy feel. There was a waiter called Pritam he was very nice and welcoming, and he took care of our food for us and was very helpful.

We visited Deccan House today for lunch and really loved the food. The service by Saksi was excellent, she was very friendly. Food was cooked in a healthy way, as I don't prefer too much oily food. I would recommend to try out Mysore bonda and Mutton biryani.

Today afternoon, we had the opportunity to be the first to try the new Andhra Meals at Deccan house, and we are happy to report that we are still alive and kicking! The meal offered a delightful mix of flavours and textures, creating a memorable dining experience. The Andhra Meals plate came with an impressive variety of items: a hot (crispy small Vada), a sweet (delectable Payasam), rich Chicken and Mutton curries, flavourful Prawn fry, tangy Rasam, and refreshing curd. The star items for us were undoubtedly the Mutton curry and the Prawn fry. The Mutton was tender and bursting with spices, while the Prawn fry had the perfect crunch and a delightful seasoning that left us wanting more. The Chicken curry, while tasty, could have benefited from a bit more spice—though this might just be my personal preference for a hotter kick. One notable missing item from the meal was Pappu (Daal). Whether you're indulging in a non-veg or veg meal. Including Pappu would certainly elevate the authenticity and completeness of the Andhra Meals. A special mention goes to Sakshi, who looked after us throughout our visit. Her attentive and friendly service made our dining experience even more enjoyable

Chicken biriyani is actually good and not that pricey. The chicken pokoda starter was dry we tried adding lemon but did not work. There was no sauce provided as well if you care about one. And the main reason for star on food is because we were given Pesaratu (Probably left out from the morning breakfast buffet on a weekend) when we actually ordered Masala Dosa which is ideally supposed to be made from Rice batter. Obviously there are people who will recognise and not prefer such swaps when a specific order was placed. It was a waste of money as we were not able to consume that. It looked more like a mix of different batters. Disappointed as there was no need to take the order if it cannot be fulfilled

Service is very good but the food is worse i went with my family nxt day i got a very bad stomach problem i checked with my friends late even they had the same we billed around £180 we order most of the dishes in the menu but other then chilli chicken rest all are so bad …
