Debenham's Restaurant, Coventry in Coventry

I have been going to debenhams cafe at least 3 times a week for a couple years,but the service and food has gone down in both quality and quantity,the final straw was the meagre portion of beans on toast,a small scoop of beans that would not cover one slice of toast let alone two. I believe debenhams no longer control the cafe,but surly the must at least try and maintain the quality and service Don't bother going there are better places near by

My friend & I went in for coffee & cake around 2pm on a Friday, very few customers in, but the empty tables were still covered with plates, cups etc. We moved stuff off a table to clear it so we would have a clean table to sit at but it was ages before the staff made an appearance to clear up. Coffee & cake ok but nothing special, prices over the top. Won’t go there again!

Stopped by for lunch today after shopping and it was awful, paid £7.95 for a fish finger brioche bun.... 2 fish fingers in a bun served with greasy sweet potato fries on a greasy plate. No salad. No dressing. Pitiful for the price

Their Breakfast was delicious, and the service was great, I believe that the 2.5/5 rating for the food does not actually speak for the actual quality. Absolutely Amazing!!

Had the six item breakfast for £5.00 All the items apart from the toast and tomatoes were very dry. Presentation was to be desired. Really do need to look at the way they present food. I should have call one of the managers.

Well We arrived not to busy.We wanted toasties only 2 left so my sister decided to have a Carvey Roll Basically a turkey roll with a small stuffing ball cut in two.Asked for a skinny hot choc Sorry no skinnySo you have ran of skimmed milk.Shocked We were over charged by 2 carvey rolls instead of only one.We went back to get a refund and were told sorry I was clock watching as I am due to finish.Terrible service sub standard food.

We popped into the restaurant/cafe on the second floor of the shopping centre as the other food court options were so ubiquitous and unappealing.The young girl who served our (very late) breakfast baps, (it was 1 pm), using the last available sausages & bacon, was polite and efficient. The food was good, and hit the spot!. With a tea & a coffee a well spent tenner, much better than a similar visit to a nearby Asda/Walmart last week!

I go to the Coventry restaurant and have been for quite some years. When they used to do a roast dinner it was good value.The breakfast is still okayish but this Sunday I thought i'd try the french toast with honey and fruits. Well I got two triangles of soggy bread which put together measured about three inches with a dusting of icing sugar.It came with a pot of honey which would have done five pieces of the same and a little jug of very cold blueberries which when they say fruits I think of a variety of them.The staff are lovely but I was very disappointed this time

Llamado ayer con un amigo para una escapada de compras. Teníamos las bebidas calientes de chocolate, que eran preciosas (GRACIAS) y me senté allí para charlar. No había nada de ambiente agradable, con personal aburrido buscando y aburrido decoración. Las fotos extraño subir un poco iluminada, pero parece vacía y desnuda. Algunos colores brillantes en las paredes y muebles más interesante sería de ayuda - ambos la tienda vende, quizás ayudaría, además de una música suave en el fondo. Como era, parecía más como una cantina y no estándar el tipo de sitio que desea quedarse una vez terminada su bebida es!

Tenía dos patatas al horno - esperaba algunos ensalada o algo con ellos, pero era solo con queso poner en un bol. El lugar estaba limpio y las mesas despejadas regularmente y como era sábado estaba muy ocupado. La comida estaba caliente y bien, pero nada especial.

Llamado con un amigo para un almuerzo ligero. Bocadillos eran bien, pero es caro para lo que eran. El chocolate caliente era excelente y bien vale la pena. Lo estropeado la visita fue que, aunque era de 2:00 y el almuerzo, punta de las mesas estaban vacías y desordenada con paquetes de vajilla. Tuvimos que clara nuestra mesa (traspasar las cosas hacia el lado) y estábamos casi listos para ir antes se lo llevaban. No es como si fueran ocupados, pero es suficiente para desanimarme ir allí de nuevo. Espero que tenga más suerte!

Siendo local normalmente comer en los restaurantes, sin embargo en esta ocasión fue muy concurrido, así que pensé que iba a probar el restaurante debenham con mi familia.

Nice cosy restaurant but the cake selection was very poor on my last visit and very disappointing. There was only 3 choices and rather smal slices too!

Popped in here for some refreshments while shopping. Had an old couple in front of me ordering breakfast and asking for glasses of water. Rude member of staff towards them.

Estuve en este restaurante con mi hija mientras que las compras de Navidad y decidimos tomar un desayuno inglés completo para ponernos las pilas para el día. Era repugnante. La salchicha de cerdo era recocido tanto que no podía cortar con un cuchillo, el tocino era similar, pero más difícil. estamos en el black pudding que estaba empapada en grasa y tenía la textura de una esponja, y sabía como una esponja. también terminar con mi desayuno fue comprado a una trabajadora, menos las alubias que ha comprado por separado en un plato. Esto no fue una agradable visita, y es sin duda un lugar que no volveremos de nuevo.

Delicious cakes, good coffee, great offers, and a nice place to sit and relax with someone who is important. A very comfortable relaxing atmosphere, and great choice of food, although a bit pricey

Went into Debenhams cafe today for a drink and something to eat, the trays were dirty the tables hadn't been wiped or cleared from the last people who sat there. Walked straight back out again, not very hygienic.

I have visited a lot of Debenham's Restaurants and always find good value, good tasty food and pleasant surroundings. The staff are most helpful and everywhere is kept clean and tidy at all times. Toilet facilities are always close to the restaurants which is very helpful when travelling around places away from home. The meals, cakes, scones, beverages etc., are always tasty and well presented and everything is moderately priced.

Good place to chill and enjoy. The food is good quality and the staff are very helpful. Its away from the crowds but still close to the shops. I'll go back for some more

After a most enjoyable walk in the grounds of Coombe Abbey my wife and I repaired to Coventry City Centre for lunch and some shopping. Disaster!Finding a restaurant in Coventry was daunting in the extreme. The question is whether there is a decent restaurant in Coventry? We eventually found ourselves in Orchard West shopping centre which advertised 10 food outlets. They were all fast food madhouses. Some of the most unappetising food I have seen for a long time.In desperation we turned to Debenhams. It looked better than what we had already seen but it turned out to be just as awful. Tables not very clean and totally disinterested staff. How it could masquerade as a restaurant is beyond me. There was no service at all. Having ordered at the bar I was given an electronic gadget which bleeped when the food was ready for collection by us. The food was left on the counter with no one in sight and therefore no one to take it off us and it was too agitated to remain on the glass counter. Driven to distraction I eventually off-loaded this gadget onto a reluctant cleaner.My wife had a cheese and tomato toastie - by 13.30 hours most other toasties had gone. I enquired of my wife if she had enjoyed it - the only response was, "don't ask"! She left part of it. My cod, chips and peas was very poor. The fish was just a soggy mess and incompletely battered. The chips were very overdone and dry. The highlight of the meal were the peas.This was one of only three cooked dishes on offer. The final insult was that the coffee was awful. Again not finished.This sort of restaurant has no place in 2014. Do not go near it!I am also sorry to report that Coventry has one of the most depressing shopping centres of any major city I have visited and for a city built on car manufacturing, sadly now gone, the Council seems to be trying to exact revenge on the motorist by it one way system and inability to signpost carparks.

Having done some shopping, and not wanting the usual from the food court, we choose to have lunch in the Debenhams Restaurant thinking we'd get a good meal, how wrong I was!Firstly, when we ordered, the plates that our food was served on had baked-in food that obviously their dishwasher couldn't remove, the guy serving (who I thought was the manager cause he was the only one wearing a shirt & tie) looked dopey like he didn't know what he was doing.The food was to say below average, and for the handsome price of nearly £20 for two meals & drinks, I would have gladly gone somewhere else.There are much better restaurants in Coventry city centre for people to use, and I would recommend everyone of them over this 'restaurant'.Tables weren't cleaned, and when I removed plates from our table the women who seemed to be just collecting dirty plates & cups (and not cleaning) ignored them even though she looked at me, so I simply put them on another table.Date of visit: 2nd January (around 1pm)

We've had some lovely meals and some not so great meals. Tea and cake is fine - breakfast on a Saturday morning is a bit of a mare and not well thought out (and a bit greasy).

I took my 14 year old for breakfast thinking the restaurant would be up to the high standard of the shopping experience,sadly I was wrong! The breakfast was awful,infact I left it as the only fresh thing on the plate was the egg which had been cooked to order,the toast was still bread,bacon was like crispy rubber wear it was left under the hot lights & the sausage tasted cheap. On finding a table it was still full of cups from previous customers a then I spent a further 10mins finding cutlery & sauces which are speaks around the restaurant. All in all not experience I will be repeating - over priced & underwhelmed! ;(

The food was OK for price but portions on the small side, the problem was although there was seating the table's had not been cleared. We ended up having to move dirty crockery ourselves & ask for a cloth to wipe our table so we could sit to eat our meal. The staff did not appear to be rushed off their feet & it was not extremely busy.
