Debenhams Restaurant in Chelmsford

It’s always a pleasure to visit this restaurant when we are out shopping. A choice of lunches, snacks & coffee drinks

Food is freshly prepared but there is not much of a choice - most days it's the same menu items. Service is good but the food is not of a high standard . Not value for money.

Second time we have been for breakfast, and once again impressed. Food was fresh and hot-eggs and toast cooked to order while rest was being served, so quick and efficient. Very good value and quality in my opinion. Both visits I’ve been really impressed by the staff, mostly quite young, very friendly and really helpful. Would recommend for breakfast for sure.

For this type of restaurant it could not be faulted. Staff attentive and brought breakfast to table after cooking eggs and toast fresh. Pleasant check out staff and clean environment

I forgot how good this place is! Awesome scone (Daughter’s choice) breakfast was served by a helpful lady with a smile, hot and yummy. Staff helpful and accommodating. Lacks atmosphere but still a good place for families and all sorts I imagine!

What a difference my breakfast served by a man who seemed really to care. Eggs cooked to order and meal served at table. pleasant clean surroundings and good meal. Only issue toilets could have been better signed.

good clean environment but that's where the positives stop. breakfast items very dried up especially bacon. Staff whilst friendly were slow. they had habit of serving half the breakfast and then leaving awaiting other items to be cooked. overall a bad experience.

Used to like having breakfast here but it has gone down hill. My husband and I would always have the 8 item breakfast. Serving staff are unfriendly, I feel that I’m being a nuisance when I’m asking for what I want. Good customer service certainly passed them all by. food isn’t as nice. When my breakfast was brought to me I only had a single serving of bubble when I had asked for a double portion, the member of staff wasn’t happy as she took my plate to get some more. The only nice member of staff was the young lady clearing the tables, she was smiling and conversing with customers. I think they need more like her

Been quite a few time and very good but lately fish has been getting smaller, and today undercooked. So will not be going back.

My mum always likes Debenhams. We had tea & a forest fruits scone. Absolutely delicious, Tables are well spaced out & seating very comfortable. Cutlery could do with being a little cleaner is my only observation.

Called in for a bacon sandwich sandwich and coffee. Restaurant was nearly empty apart from interviews for Debenhams Christmas staff taking place at a table. The staff members who served me were unfriendly, the bacon was like cardboard and the bread rather stale. Coffee was ok. Such a shame as in the past I have enjoyed my visits to the Restaurant. Will not be back.

We were in town and everwhere we wanyed to eat was full so the hubby suggested we eay here. From the off set it looked ok but the team seemed to all be flapping over nothing. Fridge temp. Was wrong so my ceasar salad sandwich was warm, the chips were 1.90 a portion n they were vile the sausages were nice though. The young girl on the till was so miserable n sollen over all it was a bad experience that you pay a premium for

I had lunch here with my grown up son. I had scampi and chips and he had a pork carvery and we each had a bottle of peach tea. The staff were friendly enough and the food was well cooked but there was not much of a choice. Reminded me of pub fare from the 80's. This meal cost over £18 and reminded me why the fast food chains are so successful. Not sure I will bother to come here again when there are other choices in Chelmsford.

Although there were only a few people in restaurant a lot of tables needed clearing and cleaning which after asking ours was. The food of chicken tikka masala on a small plate, was microwaved well but including 2 soft drinks was very over priced at £18. The staff behind the hot/cold food counter were miserable but the young lad at the till was smiley happy and good customer interaction.

Even though we turned up early for a High Tea they couldn't be more helpful to serve it to us 2 hours before it was meant to be. Great food and fantastic food. We highly recommend them.

Went here as was going to be a treat as cakes very expensive but thought it would be nice.service at counter terrible did not know what she was doing gave us the wrong cake :( then another staff gave us tea for 2 but only one cup had to ask another member of staff for it and had to queue waiting for tea :( was not as nice as it should of been won't go here again :(

Decent Sunday roast with all the trimmings, helpful staff and very well priced compared to restaurants.

Disapointed asked for extra gravy but didn't get it. carrots under done and potatoes dry. Same meal at Chelmsford Debenhams was so much better. it it down to demand at Xmas.

Had 6 breakfast items ,coffee, toast and marmalade food was hot and served quickly. Very good value.

After you have finished your Christmas shopping & you fancy some refreshments then why not try Debenhams restaurant. They have a nice selection of freshly prepared food to tempt you & can also provide you with a nice cup of coffee of tea & all for a very reasonable price.

We called here for a snack as we had travelled from London and needed something to eat. The cheese scone was a good size and very tasty. THe gluten free christmas cake was very enjoyable and the pot of tea sufficient for two cups each. Very good value.

Love to shop in Debenhams, so decided to try their restaurant, food menu is plentiful with the usual baked potato and soups, sandwiches they also make paninis and burgers. When I visited they were clearing up from previous rush ,the tables were a little cluttered, but Staff were busy and friendly retifying this.
