Friendly staff. Food took a little while coming - bacon sandwich - was told no white bread?? So had brown. Cooked to my preference. Lovely coffee. Very comfortable surroundings and no staff to hassle you! Reasonable price especally if you have a Debenhams Card.

What has happened to this eatery... it’s slapdash, very basic, slow, run by inexperienced staff. No-longer the comfy friendly experience. Disappointing.

We decided to have a coffee here as the wife was shopping in Debenhams anyway. Prices were in line with Costa however, coffee almost as nice as Costa, but the difference here was the immaculately clean restaurant and the courteous young gentleman who served us, will be coming here again for sure

Another great place me and my Mum happened to walk into. If your shopping in town and looking for a place to eat for lunch, I recommened the Debenhams Restaurant. Quiet, soft atmosphere, pleasant staff, and amazing food. Both my and my Mother had a jacket potato; she had tuna mayo in hers and I had cheese, onion and salad cream in mine. Both as beautiful as each other, though I had a nibble of my Mum's; tuna mayo is defintely a winner! Hope you feel guys feel the same way as I do about Debenhams' jacket potatoes!

We are good customers at Debenhams. The coffee is so bitter and luke warm. We called in there today - only 2 customers. It has really gone down. The restaurant is very clean. It is the quality of the coffee.

The bistro ... don't go 😥 about 10 people in front of me one person serving. Stood and looked at what was on offer. Nothing tempting at all. The scones looked dried up. No smell of anything like fresh coffee . I waited and waited then left. Sad really as it used to be delightful. Then again the store was empty and the staff on the cosmetics dept were so disinterested. I wanted to buy some perfume but they were busy looking at a phone . I saved my money and went elsewhere. Won't be back

Visited the cafe for a full English breakfast today, have to admit, It was really poor. The bacon had not even been cooked, a huge lump of raw fat around the slice, the scrambled eggs were served from the microwave onto the plate, (we viewed this whilst sitting on corner), mushroom seems to have been boiled, and the baked beans were hard, sorry, but the staff were not busy, all chatting at hatch, no hair nets on or any sort of uniform, basically a poor standard of food for a high end price, will not be using again

every time we visit Bedford we pop in here for a drink and a cheese scone. If you have a debenhams gold card you get discount on the price which is nice. Staff are always friendly and will bring things to you or assist if required so why not pop in whilst shopping and have a try of whats on offer which is quite varied for a smaller store restaurant

I've been to this cafe a number of times for breakfast and coffee. On this occasion I went for lunch and there was very little choice in terms of sandwiches so I ordered a jacket potato with tuna and asked for no onion. The person who served me didn't explain that the spring onion was already mixed into the tuna and I didn't realise until I had started eating my lunch. I would normally have gone back and asked for something else but the queue was quite long. My lunch was quite poor, a tiny potato in a small bowl. I continued to pick around the onion and wondered whether the soup might have been a better choice! I then overheard the people on the next table complaining that they're soup was cold and the accompanying role rock hard. This cafe serves good coffee and cake, but lunch is not recommended by me!

I have coffee here fairly often as a result of an offer allowing free drinks in Debenhams. Hopefully the staff read the reviews as the quality of the Cappuccino varies enormously depending on who makes it. When you compare a Costa or other well known cafe's version with the beautifully frothy top with the variants that are produced in this restaurant you wonder why they do not have a standard training method. Obviously as I am getting it free I continue to return till the offer ends but if I had to pay for it I would go elsewhere ! On the positive side though a very nice setting and seems quite popular . Cakes on offer look very nice although I haven't had one yet ! Beggars cant be choosers I guess ...

We were Served quickly and our food came out piping hot. Food looked quite plain would have been nice to have a bit of side salad. Was very tasty though. My only criticism is that the menu is very limited. Would be nice to see a few more items and variety.

Stained cutlery, grubby tables and chairs, dated surroundings, over cooked and dried out food. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced but the quality is not good enough.

I come here for lunch every other day as i like the facilities they have here for babies. Not alot to choose from but i always have the jacket potato with the 'side salad' more like a 'sprinkle of salad!' Very poor portions but worst of all salad has always been very floppy and brown, in other words its gone off. Please sort it out.

I don't understand why the negative reviews here. I often nip in for a breakfast whilst my wife shops, my last visit I enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast served hot and delivered quickly to my table. I can't fault it, the service is friendly and prompt. The tea is hot, what more can they do.Well done debenhams Bedford, giving me a peaceful oasis away from the hum drum of shopping

The restaurant has had a makeover since i was last in about a year ago.On offer is the typical snacks, sandwiches, salads and the full English breakfast which i opted for. There is also a Childrens menu too.The place is relatively clean and i enjoyed the food. With quite a few fast food outlets dotted around the high street this was about the best option available at that time of morning.

We popped into Debenhams for lunch with our boys during the dreaded school uniform shop. Whilst it was a better option than a fast food restaurant, we weren't left feeling overwhelmed. It appears it has had a bit of a make over since our last visit, now being a cafe rather than a restaurant. The menu was limited, however we all enjoyed our meals. I had a chicken salad, it was generously portioned. My husband had a chicken and chirizo panini, our eldest had a chicken ceaser baguette and our youngest had spaghetti bolognaise. The baguette and panini were fine and were throughly enjoyed. The little ones spag Bol, came out in a posh little terrine and lid, however the actual food, whilst edible, was very clearly a cheap, heat up dish, it was watery and looked very unappealing ( our 5 yr old throughly enjoyed it). All in all it was a clean and quiet restaurant, the staff were helpful and it was reasonable in comparison to a burger and chips. If I was in looking for somewhere to eat in Bedford, it would not be top of my list, however their cakes looked delicious and I think would make a reasonable stop for coffee and cake.

We went to Debenhams Restaurant in Bedford for breakfast before shopping and were absolutely appalled at the standard of the food. We thought it was rather strange that we were the only two people using the restaurant apart from one other customer.Breakfast consisted of two undercooked sausages, a slice of anaemic looking bacon, a dish of microwaved baked beans, tasteless and powdery scrambled eggs and an almost raw mushroom. Oh, and a slice of burnt toast and a pot of tea with only one teabag! We can remember having very good breakfasts from Debenhams a few years ago, the traditional kind with a properly cooked selection to choose from as you walked along with your tray, NOT the rubbish that is now on offer. You have to queue up to order it now, rather than being able to help yourself. As another reviewer commented, this was well below the standard you expect from Debenhams. We won’t be going back.

Apparently a jacket potato with chilli is a microwaved potato with no crispy skin cut into about 8 chunks with tasteless chilli poured on top. Rubbish and expensive for what is poor quality food.

Went to the sales in Bedford and ended up in Debenhams and decided to have a cup of tea and a scone. I am not one to complain, but the scone was hard and the tea is the worst I have ever had. The scone was returned for a refund and I was short changed! Will not be using this restaurant again, McDonalds would have been better.Take my advice, have your tea break some where else in Bedford.

We have come to this place many times in the past but on this occasion we were horrified at the fallen standards of the place. It was 1.30 on a Thursday. There were over 50% of tables either not cleared or not clean, a lack of serving staff creating a long queue. Soups being advertised which had run out. My wife's slice of bread was stale. I also heard one customer saying that 'they had run out of sugar". The staff that were present were very busy and professional, so it must be a management problem.

Had the misfortune in chosing Debenhams Bedford Restaurant for a light snack.....not too sure where to start...greeting from staff - zero, 12 minute wait even though 2nd in queue, took staff 5 mins to place order of 1 coffee 1 juice 1 croissant and 1 fruit salad, waited 10mins for it to arrive, luke warm coffee arrived first, this was followed 4 to 5 mins later with a microwaved croissant (this was greasy and nuked) Several minutes after this the fruit salad arrived with the juice. The fruit salad comprised of almost frozed fruit (oh, not forgetting the odd brown apple core and very dry segments of orange) it appeared to have been prepared the day before or longer. We had to ask passing Chef for cutlery. Then realising that we had to go back to the counter to ask for napkins, where we were duly issued with 'one'. The Chef that was bring the food out had was wearing dirty 'whites'. All in all a total waste of nearly a 'tenner' All together their was 4 customers in total in the restaurant.........will not be going back..... if this is the service when trade was slow......God help those who turn up when it is busy.....or was the emptiness a sign of customers have shown there protest!!!

Possibly the best kebab I’ve ever had. Instead of serving in a standard pita they hand make a naan and cook in front of you which tastes superb, plus the amount of meat and salad added is both sizeable yet appropriate. There’s a few tables for dining in which were clean and the staff were friendly enough. This will be my kebab place of choice from now on.

What a disappointment - we went to the pumpkin patch with 3 grandchildren. The activities there were not well maintained, on the Mini Tractor Trail the tractors would not move due to being placed on damp lumpy grass, the Spooky Mini Golf had definitely seen better days. We paid an extra £5.99 per child for Chocolate Apple Dunkin when booking online which consisted of a very small apple on a stick which was then dipped in chocolate and sprinkles

Oh Dear, another Pub totally unaware of the current disability regulations. There isn't a ramp, there are even any same level flooring, upon enquiring with one of the staff regarding access to the premises, by one in a wheelchair, we were curtly reminded that this was a traditional Public House, who don#t cater for those with mobility issues! Such a shame as my friend had his legs blown off in Afghanistan, and is a hero.
