Dawat On Tawa in Leicester

I would definitely not recommend this place for anyone. I bought Tawa for 4 but when we got home we were surprised, it looked like meal for 2. The meat tested like it was reheated from last night as it was soft like cheese.

Starters were very good and prompt Tawa was very very good, karahi was delicious! Pricing was very decent too.

Worst food spot I’ve ever been to. Food looked very nice, But turned out to be very disappointing when it came to eating. Drinks tasted like water and the hygiene was absolutely disgusting. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. It’s a shame really.

Awesome place with tasty food..

This is my second time visiting this restaurant. Food was great. We ordered 3 platters/Tawa 1 samudri/ seafood tawa, Desi tawa and Indo Chinese tawa for 6 of us. The portion sizes were pretty good but we couldn’t finish it. Make sure you order the correct size so the food doesn’t get wasted. They also offered us complimentary food Pani puri, papdi chat and papadum which was amazing. We waited 20 minutes for the food. Toilets are available. We struggled to find a parking space but you can find the parking lot nearby the train station.

Went there just after 5.30 pm so it wasn't very busy. Ordered Chicken drumstick for starters, charsi karahi, nihari, biryani for mains. Food came out in about 20 mins...must say food was really good and was very pleased with the quality and quantity. They also give complimentary Pani Puri with starters. 100 recommended.

Tasty food, portion is good and worth money . Falooda is best. We also get complimentary pani puri.

The food was very very delicious. We ordered for a Seafood Tawa for 3 but the quantity was enough for 4 people. The taste was very yummy and I would always prefer to visit again.

It says on Google that you close 11 pm but I came all the way only for the restaurant to be closed. This was 10:34 pm 🙄

Food spot on can't complain but portion size absolutely ridiculous just picked up a order for takeaway I did request large butter chicken but told they come in one size

We attended a small (150 people) wedding at Dawat. The mouth-watering food came out piping hot. The presentation of the starter platter (consisting of Fish Amratsari, Lamb Seek Kebab, Lahsooni Chicken Tikka) with artisan salad looked and tasted very high end. All the starters were good but the Lahsooni Chicken Tikka was exceptional. The mains were equally well presented and were very aromatic and delicately flavoured. The amazing thing that stood out at this restaurant was that they seem to have managed the impossible in an Asian restaurant - that is they have found a team of front-house staff who know how to smile and have a “nothing is too much trouble” attitude. Any requests for top-ups were greeted with a smile and promptly fulfilled. I would highly recommend Dawat for small weddings and parties and shall definitely be returning with the family for Ala Carte meals. We’ll done the Dawat team!!!

Honestly one of the best meals Iv ever eaten. Got the delux tawa dish - SO much delicious food all on 1 pan. The manager and staff there are all very polite and attentive. I drive 1hr specifically to eat at this place and I’ll continue doing so!

Excellent flavoursome food. Came for a wedding reception and met owners too. Such nice guys who create amazing food with their staff. Excellent attentive service with a smile. Well done!

The small joined up uneven tables are a let down especially when the servings come in a huge Tawa.

Had our dinner with friends tonight and loved the service recieved. It's been a cold night and they gave extra heaters for us to keep warm. The food arrived quick also sk tasty and the chef himself came out to see us to ensure that we were happy with everything. Thank you

This restaurant is of a good size. The tables and seating are comfortable. The food was very good - we ordered Indo Chinese. We really liked the service, it was very personal (especially the lady with the glasses) who allowed us a small taster of the mango lassi before we ordered a jug. The food arrived quickly and was to a very good standard. We really liked that the restaurant allows for credit card payments and provides jugs of tap water (there are many restaurants which STILL do not do this!!) Overall food and service cannot be faulted and the prices are very good value. We had a really lovely and relaxing evening. We shall definitely be visiting again!

We went there for Eid party staf are friendly,food was excellent specially lamb Nihari. We will definitely go back again and again

Delicious food, beautiful presentation and excellent service!! We ordered a mixture of few starters and all them were delicious, be it the chaats or indo Chinese. For main course we ordered the famous Tawa!! There was plenty of food on the tawa and looked beautiful and tasted even better!! Would highly recommend and will be back soon….

I stumbled upon this hidden gem by pure luck as the restaurant I was meant to be going to was closed that evening. It was late and I was extremely hungry and tired. I looked through the window and there was a good local crowd and lots of families - which is always a good sign! I walked in with my husband and we were quickly seated. We had some questions about the menu and Kiran quickly and efficiently answered all our questions, she also recommended a dawat-e-khaas chaat which when arrived we were blown away by how well it was presented and how delicious it tasted! There were so many textures, tangy and spicy flavours. The Karahi Chicken and Tandoori Roti was delicious followed by the Matka Kulfi. Overall the food was delicious and excellent value for money. What made it extra special was that Kiran and the rest of the team were extremely friendly and hospitable - full of smiles. This restaurant does specialise in Tawa dishes which looked good but we didn't try that evening.
